I legit screamed when I saw that you added to the college fic, could you maybe do one of their first date or the asking of a date? It could totally include Britt being hit on and Santana getting jealous. Anyway you're amazing!
Santana has no trouble avoiding Brittany after leaving her room the morning after the party Quinn dragged her to. She goes straight to her room and rids herself of Brittany's clothes because the less of the girl's scent on her the better, but they end up a perfectly folded stack right atop her pillow. She kind of likes how Brittany smells and she wouldn't be caught dead wearing her clothes but she can at least make her pillow absorb the scent somehow before she moves the stack of clothes elsewhere.
Santana doesn't have a crush on Brittany; it may seem like she does because she's doing all the silly little things people do when they have a crush on someone, but she doesn't. Santana doesn't do crushes, especially crushes on Brittany "Princess Charming" Pierce.
She keeps up avoiding Brittany for a whole 48 hours before she accidentally sees her again. Santana knew she couldn't run forever; the campus is a decent size but Brittany's popular and they share a couple courses and they usually pass each other taking the same route from class.
But when Santana accidentally sees her, they're at this dive bar off-campus. It's a Wednesday so the place is dead aside from the creepy truckers and a handful of students who are trying to cope with the struggle of college too. Brittany's playing pool with a few others while Santana tries to hardest to sneak by without being seen. She's surprised when she makes it to a stool with ease.
Jack knows her as a regular and starts Santana off with her usual as they make small talk. Other than Quinn, he's sort of become her go-to person when it comes to venting so she tells him about the blonde that always beats her at everything and she tells him about their rivalry and she tells him about waking up in her bed. He's completely amused and Santana rolls her eyes at him because that's so not helping.
"You've got a thing with blondes, Lopez, just admit it." Jack teases as he pours her another shot.
Santana just shakes her head and reaches for the shot glass, "I don't."
"Oh yeah? Tell that to the blonde coming your way now." He smirks then nods subtly, eyes overlooking her shoulder.
Santana tosses the shot back, shoulders stiffening as that familiar scent washes over her. She hasn't even said anything before Santana's glancing to her right not even surprised by who is standing there.
Brittany's there in cut-off jeans and a too-small, faded blue v-neck tshirt and her blue eyes twinkle as she looks to Santana.
Santana lets loose a whimper as the liquor slides down her throat and it makes Brittany smirk, "Hi Santana."
"Uh hey, Brittany." Santana replies and she looks to Jack out of habit but he's already fled to the other end of the bar tohelp a customer but the guy's already helped himself Jack's practically talking to a brick wall. So Santana has no other choice but to look back up at Brittany. That height difference throws her off because she's basically looking right at her chest and it makes Santana's cheeks flush because she knows what she looks like underneath it all. "Uhh, did you need to order something? I can try to flag him down if you-"
"No, I came here to talk to you." She says easily as she leans a little on the counter so that she's a little closer to Santana's eye level.
"Oh."
Brittany chuckles at Santana's deer caught in the headlightsexpression and shakes her head, "Just kidding. Of course I'm here to order."
"Right." Santana nods and calls out to Jack, "Jack! Quit being a slacker, we needz drinks!"
Jack's all smirky when he waltzes back over, trying to send Santana all sorts of telepathic comments which she ignores. Once he makes Brittany's drink, he runs off again but Santana's surprised when Brittany lingers a little longer.
"So any plans for Spring Break?"
It shocks Santana when she hears the slight waver in Brittany's voice, something that sounded way too much like nervousness, but she smiles anyway, "I thought you didn't come here to talk to me?"
"Can't a girl change her mind?" Brittany counters smoothly along with an award winning smile, "Besides, you sitting over here all by your lonesome? Heartbreaking."
"I'm not alone, I have Jack."
"No, no she doesn't." Jack calls out, not even bothering to look up.
Santana frowns at him and turns to see Brittany's amused grin, "Play pool with me."
"Don't wanna." Santana shrugs and looks to her drink needing some type of distraction from pretty blue eyes and soft pink lips.
"Oh, come on." Brittany urges, poking at Santana's shoulder, "What do you got against pool?"
"Nothing." She says, "All those people over there, why don't you play with one of them?"
"Don't wanna." Brittany mimics and the playfulness in her voice makes Santana's stomach flip.
"Do I hear the great Santana Lopez turning down a game of pool?" Jack asks, astonished, as he walks down their side of the bar, "You know, she's never lost a game yet."
"No, I didn't know that." Brittany smiles as she turns back to face Santana, "Now you have to play with me."
She shakes her head though; it's the only thing that's her's and she doesn't want to give up her last thing to Brittany, the winner of everything.
"Afraid I'll beat your ass?" Brittany asks and her grin turns devilish.
Something in Santana bends and suddenly she's filled with confidence, "Please, I'm not afraid. Let's go."
Brittany hops, she literally hops up and down as Santana pushes away her shot glass and empty beer bottle to lead the way towards the pool tables. Santana's all determination and concentration as she lines everything up and grabs her favorite pool stick because she isn't letting Brittany claim another title that's rightfully hers.
But ten minutes into the game, Santana realizes something. Other than the fact that Brittany is the perfect mixture of adorable, sexy, and cute, Santana discovers Brittany is actually horrible at something: pool.
As Santana ducks out of the way of a flying 8 ball, courtesy of Brittany, she begins to relax, even laughs a little.
After Brittany retrieves the ball and apologizes to the others playing around them, she sees Santana giggling quietly to herself and starts to laugh too, "What?"
"I finally found something you aren't good at." Santana tells her, amused.
Brittany just rolls her eyes as she sets the ball back on the table, fighting a smile, "Well maybe you can teach me so I'll be more of a match next time?"
"Next time?" Santana raises a brow, "Who said there'll be a next time?"
Brittany just smirks as she realigns the balls.
