Ever since the fall of beacon nightmares seemed to hunt her nights some were fine others would wake her in the middle of the night causing her to wake with a sharp gasp and a slight shake, but this night it wasn't a dream to wake her rather the cries of a infant seemed to shake her from her slumber.
Standing up yang walked to the door and with a deep breath opened it, before making her way to the sound, peaking from the dark halls into the living room she couldn't help but be surprised, seeing her father trying to make a mysteryist infant in his arms stop crying. "It's going to be alright I promise you , your mom will come back to play with you as soon as she can, but for now you must be a big boy and calm down."
"Dad?" The words left her before she realized and she couldn't help but notice her father jump at her voice before he glanced over to her with a look of shame.
"I guess the baby woke you up?" The male looked away from her for a few moments the infant still crying loudly before he sighed and shifted the infant in his arms. "I guess you wondering why I have a baby."
"Uh yeah." Honestly had her dad not bought it up she was going to after all babies don't just apper out of no where.
Another sigh left the male before the infant stop crying and the male crused as he begin darts about the room before he got a small pump connected to it was a face mask and pressing it to the infants face and begin pumping it.
While this was happening yang watched begin to grow worried about this baby who she didn't even know about till a few moments ago. "Dad what's wrong?"
"Your cosion has breathing problems and I couldn't seem to calm him down quickly enough." Tai continue to pump the air so that the infant could breath, and after a few more moment the baby wimpered as he was able to breath again.
"So...that...that baby is my cosion? Wouldn't that mean that qrow is a mom? Unless I have some other uncle or aunt you failed to mention." Yang gave a light chuckle trying to keep it all light, because the answer would be worry some since that would mean her aunt was pregnant during the fall and it was a unsettling thought.
"She is, though she has a mission and so i agreed to watch him while she is away." Tai sighed what the elder wasn't going to say was that he hadn't agree to it easily, he had quietly fought with his old team mate, but she had won and so he took the child in.
Not that tai had anything against taking care of a child (he was a father of two after all), no rather he would have happily taken in the infant for his teammate, espically after all they've been though, it's just had been he didnt wanted the women to go on the mission in the first place, after all she still didn't look fully there, her weakness poorly hidden behind a mask of snark.
And he had called her out on it and tried to pressure her into staying, sadly she got him in the gut with guilt and concern, how the women knew of ruby leaving before he did, he had no idea, maybe the same way Raven had somehow knew things with their 'bird powers' but it didn't seem fully to explain it. In the end she got what she wanted.
He sighed as he felt the area where qrow's lips actsadently brush his neck , when she had hug him in thanks, burn slightly as if he could still feel her lips against his flesh. Making him sigh again while he laid the baby down who seemed to understand what to much crying lead to, so the infant crying settle down to soft whimpers while he simply begin attempting to roll over as if giving up on the adult and try to solve what ever bother him on his own though the infant was failing doing that but it was understandable due to his age.
Mean while yang had needed a moment as she sat down. Her mind could only imagine her aunt fighting for everyone's safety while being scared of losing her child. since it wasn't uncommon for hunteress to lose a child when they are forced to take a mission or just fight due to the stress and vilonce involved. Though some women didn't care there were still some that did, and sometimes they were never the same. It had gotten so bad that after the first few waves of huntress that now a days most girls who plain on being huntress and are training from a young age get taught to be careful about that happening to them. While she never really thought to much on it (after all she was still a minor and she wasn't ready for a kid yet) but to think qrow would have been one of those women forced into a switation caused a chill to go down her spine at the thought, but that bought up another thought.
"And what of the father? Sur-"
"Dead." The word shut yang's next question part way she didn't need to be told when after all a lot of people were lost at the fall so it only made sense that was when it happened and even if he didn't die that day he could have been one of the people who didn't make it after they had gotten the injured lifted out of the city.
"I see." That didn't seem to cover her thoughts, how could her aunt be so strong to seem to carry such a heavy burden, surely this mission had to impoant that she would leave her child under someone else's care.
She snorted at her own thoughts and looked out the window noting that the sun was about to rise and sighed, there would have been a time where such news would have anger her, make her lash out and demand answers of how someone could abandon there child. And maybe there was still is a part of her that felt that way since it felt familiar.
But her aunt wasn't like her mother, for as long as she can remember her aunt has always tried to be there for her always showing up and doing everything to show that she cares and loves not only her but ruby too when by all accounts she didn't have to bother, and even when she was forced to go on missions for long periods of time, she always return and hug them even got them little trinkets from where every she could find something nice and shiney for everyone.
In that way she knew her aunt would return, but still what sort of mission could it be to send her away that she needed to go and leave her child behind? A deep sign left yang as she moved to get a better look at the infant.
The blonde wasn't very good with noticing many details but what she could tell was the boy looked to have her aunt's skin color and hair, and when light brown eyes glanced at her, she had know that wasn't from her aunt's side, since both her mom(according to her dad) and aunt have red eyes.
"So... Dad? What's his name?" Moving her hand out she lightly ruffled the dark hair that seemed rather fluffy between her fingers.
"Oh." The male seemed to be bought out of what ever thought he was in and took a moment to clear his thoughts. "Sorry i guess I forgot to tell you his name." Tai at least to a moment to look guilty before he seemed to brighten up as being told a joke. "It seems your aunt can get a joke."
The stameant though caused yang to raise a brow, after all he always seemed to laugh, or rather give her pity laughs since she realized aunt didn't seem to think puns were funny. "And why's that?"
Tai smiled and lifted the infant once again making the boy make a sound in annoyance at being interrupted with ever the infant thought was imporant. "Yang meet Yin."
