This takes place after Gilligan and the Professor encounter the screaming goats
SEPTEMBER 9, 1964
"Hey Professor look at that!" Gilligan exclaimed as they were about to head back to camp after encountering the screaming goats. The Professor looked to where Gilligan was pointing and couldn't believe his eyes.
At the base of the mountain feeding on some grass was a large white goat with a beard and not two not three but six horns. Four of them were jutted upwards while two curled downwards on either side of his head.
"I don't believe it!" The Professor whispered under his breath as Gilligan slowly approached it. "Be careful Gilligan!"
The goat looked up as Gilligan approached. He stopped a few feet from him and held out a few berries for him. The goat slowly approached him, sniffed at the berries, then ate them.
"Good boy um. . ." Gilligan replied thoughtfully. "King Gruff!"
King Gruff bleated turned around and with the same amazing stealth as the screaming goat darted up the rocky cliff.
"King Gruff?" The Professor asked as they began walking again.
"Yeah because with all those horns he looks like a King!" Gilligan replied as he suddenly stopped short. "Oh my gosh look at this!"
"What is it?" The Professor asked as Gilligan bent over to pick something up.
"Look at these turtles!" Gilligan replied as he held what looked like a small baby turtle in the palm of his hand.
The Professor did a double take when he looked at the 'turtles' in Gilligan's hand. The turtles had two heads and one body. As he watched them it looked like they were trying to go in different directions.
"Fascinating!" The Professor replied as he picked them up. "Very fascinating. They failed to separate completely while still in the shell!"
"Awe!" Gilligan replied. "Will they be alright on their own?"
"I doubt it!" The Professor replied as he studied the turtles. "Each head controls one side of the body. They probably won't survive long out here on their own. We'll need to take them back with us!"
"Neat!" Gilligan replied as the Professor handed the turtles back to him.
"So what are you going to name them?" The Professor asked as they started walking again.
"Hmmmm!" Gilligan replied thoughtfully. "Blinky and Winky!"
A/N: Goats with more than two horns do exist. They've been known to breed them in Romania. The most common breed with multiple horns is the Jacobs Sheep.
It looked like the turtles on Gilligan's Island were Box Turtles.
Two headed turtles occur when twins don't fully separate when growing in the egg. They don't usually live long in the wild. This has been known to happen with snakes and other animals even with people.
