PRICKLY BABY
This one takes place during the first season episode 'Voodoo Something To Me'
July 2, 1964
Gilligan was standing guard by the fire and was about to fall asleep standing up when all of a sudden a baby started crying. He stood up straight, pulled the flashlight out of his pocket and pointed it and the gun in front of him.
"Hello who there goes!" Gilligan squeakily yelled as everyone ran out of the hut.
"Is that a baby crying!" Mrs. Howell yawned.
"Is someone coming to rescue us with a baby?" Ginger asked yawning.
"Either way we better go find it!" Skipper replied as he picked up a branch and put put one end in the fire. "Girls, Mr. and Mrs. Howell stay here! Professor, Gilligan let's go look for whoever is out there!"
Skipper and the Professor held up torches while Gilligan held the flashlight in front of them. The Skipper was practically tiptoeing since he forgot to put his shoes back on.
"Skipper watch out for Pumpernickel!" Gilligan suddenly replied.
"What?" The Skipper replied as he stepped on something that felt like several nails. "BUNKER HILL WHAT!"
Gilligan shined the flashlight on Skipper's foot and saw what looked like quills. Then he shined the flashlight behind him and saw a porcupine chewing some grass near a bush.
"Let me guess that's Pumpernickel!" The Skipper replied through gritted teeth as the Professor helped him sit down on a rock.
"Yeah!" Gilligan replied sheepishly as they heard a wailing cry coming from the tree above them.
Gilligan raised his flashlight and shined it in the trees. On one of the branches was a small dark brown creature with a small head, bat-like ears, large glowing eyes and a long tail. It wailed one more time and jumped higher into the tree.
"Catch you later Lori!" Gilligan sheepishly called after it.
"Gilligan instead of making more animal friends can you help get me back to the hut and get these STUPID QUILLS OUT OF MY FOOT!" The Skipper yelled angrily.
Gilligan and the Professor struggled to help Skipper back to the hut where Mary Ann was able to help remove the quills from his foot.
A/N: The porcupine is the third largest rodent and there's about two dozen different species. Contrary to belief they do not shoot their quills they release them if they come into contact with something and new ones will grow back. They must be removed within the first 24 hours otherwise they'll cause serious harm.
The Galagos or Bushbaby is a small African nocturnal primate. It's name is thought to come from either its appearance of cries.
