Viktor only smirked at her threat. "If you kill me, Hermione. You will die as well, you in my line."

"Then I guess I'll be dying with you Viktor."

Hermione took great pleasure in watching the smirk fall from his face.

Sirius walked slowly down to the dungeons of Hogwarts, feeling the cold begin to chill his bones. He was steeling himself for the conversation he was about to have; not only what it was about but also who it would be with. Severus Snape was a person he always tried to avoid at all costs. His feet finally stopped outside of the potion masters office. He slowly raised his hand pausing slightly before knocking on the door. He waited patiently until he heard the lock turn over to the door and it opened.

Severus stood in the doorway; his face quickly darkened seeing Sirius standing in front of him.

"Can we talk?" Sirius asked not reacting to the Severus's mood. Sirius was shocked when Severus widened the door allowing him into his office. Sirius walked in hearing the door shut behind him.

"What do you want, Black?" Severus asked walking over grabbing the whiskey from his shelf, knowing whatever conversation he would have with Black would require a drink.

"I spoke with Hermione." Sirius started, nervously rubbing his hands together before continuing. Nervous was an unfamiliar feeling with the Black Heir. Normally it was pride, arrogance; he showed this was new to him. "She told me you have certain memories. I- I want to know. I need to know. What she went though."

Severus didn't reply for a moment only looking into his glass before finishing the entire thing. He turned walking away over to the small glass cabinet in the corner of his office. "These are her memories," Severus spoke as he opened the door.

Sirius looked seeing a large number of vials with memories swirling inside. He took a deep breath, "Do you have a Pensieve?" Sirius asked turning to the potions master.

Severus said nothing waving his wand as his small Pensieve floated over to them awaiting memories to be poured in.

"Which one do I start with," Sirius asked as his eyes looked back and forth over the vials before him.

"Doesn't matter which on you start with," Severus answered, pausing as a thought crossed his mind. "Do not watch the one in the black vial."

"Why?" Sirius questioned, noticing the vial in question sitting at the bottom away from the others.

Severus sighed slightly, "It's the memories of what happen to her that night. What Viktor did to her."

"I don't want to see it." Sirius whispered.

"Smartest idea you have probably ever had," Severus said sitting down at his desk. "After that one was removed- things began getting better for her."

Sirius grabbed the first vial pouring the silver liquid into the pensieve. Sirius glanced over at Severus; who was ignoring him working on paperwork. He sighed dipping his head in opening his eyes he watched the memory form before his eyes.

Turning around he realized he was standing at the doors of Malfoy manor. Rain fell all around him but never touch him. Hearing cries from behind he turned around looking down her could make out Hermione's figure at the bottom of the steps not moving, only hearing the cries.

"Hermione," Sirius whispered looking closer he could see her torn clothing, covered in mud. The bites, bruises, and blood covering her skin. The deepest bite rested in her neck. The door behind him opened as the light from inside poured over the steps.

"Lucius," Severus said pausing slightly before running into the rain.

"Who is that?" Lucius said moving over quickly to his best friend.

Severus quickly turned her over, seeing it was Hermione laying there. "It's Miss Granger."

The potions master quickly scooped her up into his arms as they moved in the house.

Sirius didn't have to follow them as when they moved the memories around Sirius changed.

"I won't be leaving," Severus spoke as Lucius opened a small medical room that was hidden in the manor. Severus laid her on the table as the lights in the room flared to life. He grabbed the face seeing if she was coherent.

Severus was checking over her as his eyes landed on her neck. His eyes widened seeing the deep marks in her neck.

"Severus, tell me that isn't what I think it is," Lucius spoke as worry and fear clouded his face, his nomally unemotional face.

Severus sighed "They only thing we can do is get her cleaned. She was bitten by a vampire. I'm sorry she's changing."

"Merlin, What the hell was she doing out there?" Lucius growled as he looked at the table and more blood poured over the sides. "Severus, what's happening?"

Sirius watched the blood pouring he already knew. Sirius felt the sting of tears in his eyes.

Severus looked down to see where the blood was coming from, he paled looking back to his long time friend. "Step out. you don't want to be in here."

"Severus, that's my sister."

"Not now." Lucius stepped out as Severus turned waving his wand he watched a pink glow rest above her before it faded to gray. His head dropped ,"Prissy."

A small house elf appeared before him, "You called sir."

"Go to Hogwarts. In my personal stores. There's a small potion black vial on the top shelf. Bring it to me quickly."

The house elf said nothing as it disappeared from sight only returning moments later with said vial in hand. Severus quickly took the vial pouring the contents down Hermione's throat. After the potion took effect he waved his wand over Hermione he vanished her clothing his eyes averted from her form. The blood and mud vanished from her body as he summoned clothes back for her. Severus finished working and giving her the potions she would need until the change was final. Severus stepped out of the door were Lucius and Abraxas were waiting for him.

"What happen?" Abraxas' deep voice spoke evenly, but the concern coloring his voice was noticeable.

"She has been bitten by a vampire," Severus explained. "but there was venom coming from the wounds. I can only think it was an elder vampire."

"What the hell was she doing out alone?" Lucius growled, his grip tightened on his cane. "She is seeing Black, where the hell is he?"

"I'm not sure," Severus replied. "Something must have happened for her to come here."

"There's more isn't there?" Abraxas questioned.

"The vampire that- attacked her, Also-" Severus paused not being able to speak the words aloud. The three men shared a knowing look not having to say more on it. "She was pregnant."

Sirius's was pulled from the memory as it ended. "That didn't look like Hermione's memory."

Severus glanced up from his work, "Some are mine. Keep watching."

Sirius said nothing shaking his head as he went into the next memory. The room in the memory around him was destroyed only seeing Severus standing in the room until he noticed Hermione sitting on the floor.

"You should have let me die," Hermione whispered sitting on the ground. She looked miserable, her face hollow, with dark circles under her eyes. "I don't want to be this. I don't have anything anymore."

"You have the Malfoy's now," Severus noted watching the glare cross her face."They do care for you."

"Yes, them and you. I am positively thrilled." Hermione growled.

"Oh yes. your brother's positivity shines through nicely." Severus replied snidely as a deep growl rumble in her chest. "Hermione, You must feed."

"I said no," Hermione replied hoarsely.

"You'll desicate," Severus replied.

"It's better honestly." Hermione murmured.

Severus stood glaring down at Hermione, "No, You're a coward."

"Excuse me?" Hermione growled.

"You're supposed to be brave. You have been through hell during the war but now you sit here on a floor brooding it has been a year." Severus spoke to her coldly.

"Forgive me for not handling everything perfectly," Hermione growled standing up moving past him.

"I'm not talking about the baby or Viktor," Severus spoke turning to her as she stopped. "No one would have been able to handle that. I'm talking about Sirius Black."

"Don't go there," Hermione growled.

"You still love him." Severus barked.

Sirius watched the rage come across her face the just the mention of his name. The black veins ran down from her face and he fangs elongate as she turned back attacking him. Hermione went after him with everything she had. The insanity that plagued her a visible in her eyes. They yelled at one another relentlessly until she broke down again crying on the floor. Sirius felt his heart break watch her in the misery she was living in.

"I can't do this." Hermione cried. "I can't live like this."

"You have too," Severus replied sitting beside her. "The hard thing in this world is to live in it. Learn this new life, master it and control it don't let it control you."

"Will you help me?" Hermione asked looking over to him.

Severus nodded as Hermione laid her head in his lap not moving.

Sirius continued watching as many memories as he could; learning everything he could about Hermione in the time he wasn't in her life. Every fight and struggle she had to keep herself standing tall. He truly understood now why the potions master had become such a vital part in her life.

Sirius finally stopped viewing memories right before nightfall he said nothing to the potions master that watched him leave his office.

Sevrus cosed his office down locking everything up. He had put stronger wards on his office and storage rooms after Hermione had admitted to him that she was the one to break into his storage room during her second year. He had to admit he had been impressed by her, but he would never tell her that. Turning around he walked to his fieplace tossing in the powder flooing to MAlfoy Manor to see Hermione. It had been sometime since they had spoke.

"You got soot on the floor, Severus." Hermione spoke with a smile from the door way, as he appear in the Malfoy library.

"Forgive me." he replied snidly waving his wand as he vanished the soot from the floor.

"I was only picking at you." Hermione said walking over wrapping her arms around his neck.

"Very funny." he spoke patting her on the back. "I had a visitor to my office today."

Hermione pulled back frowning.

"Black came to speak with me."

"Why?" Hermione let go of him.

"It was about you." Severus replied as if it was obvious.

"Tell me he didn't do anything stupid." Hermione said taking a seat down on the sofa. Severus walked over sitting next to her.

"No." He answered. "For once in his life."

"He asked about the memories didn't he?" Hermione asked knowingly. Severus nodded. "How many did he watch?"

"Almost all of them, except the black vial." Severus answered.

"Did he say anything to you?" Hermione questioned, she sighed in relief she didn't want anyone watching those memories. Only after Severus removed that memory did she truly start to heal.

"No, once he had finished view them, he simply left. Not saying anything." Severus informed her.

"Severus what do I do?" Hermione asked turning her eyes to meet his onxy ones. Hermione honestly thought Severus would make a snide comment but it shocked her that he didn't.

"That's your choice, Hermione. Yours alone." Severus spoke shifting closer on the sofa to her. "as much as I want to tell you to run a million miles in the other direct from him. I know you still in love with him."

Hermione smiled at his words.

"they way you two look at one another make me ill." Severus followed up made the smiled drop from her face quickly.

"Your an ass, Severus." Hermione spoke swatting his arm.

"Malfoy."

Hermione and Severus frowned at one another before going to where the voices were shouting.
