Chapter Six: Assassin of the Mist! Zabuza Momochi
Naruto Hyūga sat on a branch of the tree that is on the training field, stared up at the sky with a faraway look on face. Team 7 had stopped to take a break since Tazuna was a civilian, so they had to travel at his pace. He thought about one person that mattered the most to him, which was Hinata Hyūga. She was his best friend since he was young
The both used to play together before they started training together under the guidance of Hiashi Hyūga, Hinata's father and the head of the Hyūga clan. As they grew older, so did their bond.
He smiled fondly when he remember the time he spent with her and the family. He next thought about his team, if he was honest with himself, he wouldn't want any other person and sensei. Sure him and Sasuke didn't see eye to eye but they also have an unusual rivalry between them. Maybe it's because of the clan rivalry, who knows.
Kakashi-sensei is an odd one, he's an enigma, he doesn't know much besides him being a jōnin. All he knows about him that's he is lazy, a pervert and strong. He's really a good teacher it's just Sasuke is holding back because of his arrogance.
Then, there is Sakura. He remembered she was one of Sasuke's fangirl. It really annoyed him and Hinata when she and Ino fought among themselves. Recently his opinion of her changed, during the last months at the Academy, her delusional crush on Sasuke had disappeared. She still had her arguments with Ino, but only just that, she pretends to love the guy. After their first meeting on the rooftop the Academy. Since that day they became good friends. He started helping her everyday after team practice or when they've completed their "missions".
He likes the girl, she has potential to be strong and a talented medical ninja like Lady Tsunade, and he is gonna help her along the way, he promised her. He glanced towards where his team was resting. Sakura was stretching her arms and legs, he turned to see Sasuke brooding, no doubt about killing his brother. He shook his head and sighed tiredly. 'He's so naïve.' He thought. 'Then again, Itachi did kill their parents in front of his eyes and Itachi made him to who he is. I sense so much hate inside his heart.'
He glanced toward his sensei, who no doubt reading that perverted book of his. When he saw exactly that, he was not amused. He sweatdrop, before jumping down from the tree he was on and walked towards his team.
"Kakashi sensei!" He called out, gaining his attention. "When are you gonna have a talk to our client, who undoubtedly lied to Lord Hokage?" He asked. Tazuna started sweating slightly, Kakashi hum and looked towards the nervous looking Tazuna. "I forgot about asking him to be honest." He said sheepishly, rubbing the back of his head. Tazuna and Sakura had a huge sweatdrop while Sasuke grunted, and Naruto just sighed. "I'm worried about the teams sanity." He muttered in a exasperate.
"Um... Is he always like this?" Tazuna asked, glancing to Sakura, who nodded sadly. "Sadly yes." She replied in a depressed tone. Naruto walked up and put a hand on her shoulder to comfort her.
Kakashi watched all this happening with a sweatdrop. "They think so badly of me." He thought depressed while crying anime tears. He regain his composure and started interrogated Tazuna about why he lied about the mission. Tazuna revealed that Gatō of the shipping company (No surprised there) had taken over the Land of Waves and had basically taken most of the area.
He also explained why he is building the bridge. He says that bridge will be the symbol of hope for the people of the Land of Waves. Team seven had decided to stay and help free the people from Gatō. They continued towards the home of Tazuna in manji formation, Naruto in front, Sasuke and Sakura on either side, and Kakashi behind Tazuna. After a few minutes, Naruto suddenly stop, making everyone else stop. "What is it Naruto-kun?" Sakura questioned. He didn't reply, instead he took out a kunai and threw toward a bush to his right. After a few tense second he walked over and checked and found a white rabbit, Sakura walked next to him and gasp. "Poor bunny!" She exclaimed and promptly smacked Naruto on the head. "How can you do that suck a poor bunny!" Naruto rubbed the back of his head. "Sorry about that Sakura-chan." He said in apologetic tone. Inwardly though was a question that's bugging him. 'A rabbit with white fur here, it's not even winter, unless.' His eyes widen in realization, he quickly picked up Sakura bridal style, getting a squeak of surprise, and disappeared. Sasuke pushed Tazuna to the ground and Kakashi jumped over a spinning blade heading for his head.
"Well, well. Those brats really do have great reaction time, especially that Hyūga. Tell me boy, what is your name?" Asked the new arrival. "My name is Naruto Hyūga. May I asked for your name?" Replied Naruto, glancing back while still hold Sakura, who has frozen in fear from the killing intent the arrival was giving off, he looked down at Sakura and held her a little tighter. "Don't worry Sakura-chan, I'll protect you no matter the cost." He said to her softly, Sakura couldn't find her voice so she just nodded her. He nodded back and set her down. "Stay there, okay." He ordered softly before standing and turning around to face the new foe. The man in question was a tall and noticeable muscular man with pale skin, short spiky black hair, brown eyes, and small eyebrows. He is also wearing bandages as a mask on the bottom half of his face. he was also shirtless, with his chest only covered by a belt to which he attached his Kubikiribōchō, wearing baggy pants with the striped pattern typical of Kirigakure and mimetic wrist-warmers extending up to his elbows, with matching leg-warmers.
"Hm, I'm Zabuza Momochi, better known as The Demon of the Hidden Mist." He replied and started chuckling sinisterly. Sasuke started sweating nervously, also shaking from the heavy killer intent that Zabuza is exerting. 'Dammit! I can't move my body. He is strong.' Sasuke thought nervously. Zabuza started looking around until he felt a sharp object on his throat. "Ah, I was wondering when you'll come out, Kakashi of the Sharingan." He said and looked behind to come face to face with none other than Kakashi.
"Naruto! Sasuke! Sakura! Manji formation around the client!" He ordered which they oblige, though Sasuke a bit more reluctant. Kakashi turned his attention back to Zabuza. Said man dropped from off his blade and grasp the handle and ripped from the tree and rest it on his shoulder. "Let's get this show going!" Zabuza replied in glee. (Fight goes the same with Kakashi getting captured with the water prison.)
"Damn sensei's trapped in that water prison." Naruto said. He glance to his left and saw that Sakura was wide eyes and shaking in fear. 'Who could really blame her.' he thought to himself, then he glanced to his right sasuke with his eyes filled with determination. He sighed in defeat, there is no way that Sasuke was backing out. "I guess I have to fight with the arrogant Uchiha" he shook his head slightly and turned back toward Sakura. "Keep the client safe." He said which she nodded. He nodded back and turned to Sasuke. "Do you have some kind of plan Sasuke?" He asked. Sasuke shook his head, Naruto sighed and shook his head lightly. "Right. Well here's the plan." And so they planned to free their sensei that's being held up in the water prison.
Zabuza narrowed his eyes. "What are they planning?" He wondered to himself. Naruto separated from Sasuke and took out several shurikens and threw towards the real Zabuza. he went through several hand seals. "Ninja Art: Shuriken Shadow Clone Jutsu!" Naruto shouted. The shuriken multiplied to 100 heading towards Zabuza, who eyes widen. Zabuza in the last second grabs his Kubikiribōchō and swatted the incoming weapon with ease. "Is that all you have? Well that's too bad isn't." He said mockingly.
Naruto smiled and shook his head. "Please, That's not it all."
"Fire Style: Fireball Jutsu!" Sasuke's signature fire jutsu was heading straight for Zabuza, who had no choice but get out of the way, freeing Kakashi in the process. "Thank you Naruto, I'm very grateful. I'll take care of everything from here." Kakashi eye-smiled, Naruto gave a nod and jumped back, regrouping with Tazuna, Sasuke and Sakura, watching as the battle unfold in front of them.
Kakashi and Zabuza stared each and suddenly they simultaneously blurred through hand seals and both called out the same jutsu. "Water Style: Water Dragon Jutsu!" Two dragons of water dragon of the same power suddenly rose from the lake and clashed together cancelling each other. Zabuza eyes widen in shock. 'Impossible!' he thought. (Everything during the last jutsu in the same. I just got lazy that's all)
Two senbon needles went to Zabuza, landing the finishing blow. Kakashi and the others turned to see the arrival of masked ninja. A hunter ninja, Naruto thought looking intently at the new arrival and also sensing his chakra. His eyes widen in surprise after a few minutes though. Damn his chakra is jōnin even if it is being suppressed, he thought to himself.
The masked ninja bowed to Kakashi "Thank you, leaf ninja for distracting him for me." He stood up straighter and disappeared from his spot on the tree branch and reappeared beside the unmoving body of Zabuza. "Now I must destroy this body." He picked Zabuza's body and used his free right hand making a half tiger seal and disappeared from their sight. Kakashi sighed in relief and turned towards his genin team and client. "Well, that went well." He said plainly making his team sweatdrop.
He started making his way towards them until suddenly he fell flat on his face. 'Damn, even till now I forgot about the backlash of overusing the Sharingan.' he thought, barely conscious enough to hear the call from his students before losing conscious. Naruto used his Byakugan to check up on his sensei and sighed in relief. "Kakashi sensei is fine. He's just unconscious from chakra exhaustion." he said making two shadow clones without hand seals.
"Tazuna how far is your home from here?" Naruto asked the bridge builder.
"About an hour from here." Tazuna replied. The blond Hyūga nodded and faced his teammates.
"Sasuke." Gaining the attention of Sasuke. "You and I are taking turns carrying Kakashi sensei." Naruto stated and Sasuke just nodded.
"Alright." Naruto turned around, facing the road ahead. "Let's move forward!" The team and their client moved forward with two clone of the blonde Hyūga following behind, sweeping the area every five minutes.
(One Hour Later)
They soon arrived to the town, some of the townsfolk looked at them, while the others continued what they were doing. Very soon they arrived at edge of town where a house was seen, near the dock, having a nice view of the ocean. Tazuna walked forward, knocking on the door. "Tsunami I'm home!" He called.
The door was opened and a young woman appeared on the door way. Tsunami has long hair. She wears a short-sleeved pink shirt with the end of the sleeves and the collar being red in colour and a dark blue long skirt that stop just below the knee.
Tsunami's eyes lit up and she threw her arms around Tazuna's neck. "Father!" She cried out in happiness. Naruto chuckled quietly at their antics. He glanced at Sasuke's expression, which still held a face of indifference, but if anyone looked into his eyes you'll be able to see deep sadness in his eyes, barely though.
'Poor Sasuke' he thought to himself. Tazuna introduced them to his daughter. Greeting took only a few seconds. "Ma'am. Do you have any spare room where I could put my sensei in?" Naruto asked, Tsunami nodded and beckon for Naruto to follow her.
Finally the genin of team seven could rest for the time being until their sensei woke up.
