Quick note:
Just wanna say a few things. One its been quiet a few years since I have written this story and/or have updated it. I will be going back through to update the previous chapters at some point.
I did write previous chapters quiet a few years ago when I was just beginning writing, or there if on the stages of that. So bare with the previous chapters and the errors.
Also it has been quiet a time since I wrote a fanfiction, a good year or so since I've written anything decent so I'm rusty and hope you can all bare with me as I shake off the rust and shine up the writing once more.
I also tend to write more when I hear more back from people. or I might not continue it. More reviews of hearing of people who like it, or give ideas (Will give credit where credit do) i will write more.
Chapter Seven.
When Kagome woke again, it wasn't because of the feeling of cold ground against her back any more, no it was the warmth of the sun, the smell of fresh grass, and the sound of birds.
Snapping right up fro laying down, into a sitting position, she rubbed her eyes till they where no longer blinded from the sight of the bright sun, to glance around her. Taking in her surroundings she noted she was in some kind of old ruins of some kind. Pieces of buildings laid about around the area, that area being rather large oval, covered in grass in a dirt, but surrounded in large stone walls that she could not see over. It looked to be the ruins of an old village that someone had decided to build a wall around. Why a wall she wouldn't be able to guess, at least at the moment. Standing she stretched her arms over her head, and stood tip toed to get a better view around her. She couldn't see much other then the ruins and the wall.
"Where are the others?" She begun to wonder, about to take a step forward when the sound of chains moving, when she lifted her foot, caught her attention. Looking down she noted her ankle was bounded in chain, with a very long length of chain running from her ankle to the ground. Following the chain a good few feet, where it could on the ground, she was able to note that, that the other end of the chain was pounded into the ground, and no matter how hard she pulled she could not get free. Fear begun to grip her lightly then, noting she was stuck as she tried seeing how far she could actually walk. Stretched out, she was able to walk a good six or seven feet in any direction, giving her enough room to hide in one of the ruins, a small crumbled building, with three walls, no ceiling, the highest wall being only up to her waist. "Well at least I have shelter." She mumbled aloud as a soft wind blew around her. Trying to climb on the wall, she wanted to see if she could get a better view from a higher point, but as she climbed the wall begun to crumble and fall around her, causing her to fall back on her butt. "Ouch.." She offed out as she landed on the ground.
"Kagome?!" She heard a soft voice call out. Jumping to her feet she looked around. "Shippo? Is that you!" She called out, and sure enough a minute after calling out the orange ball of fur came bouncing around the ruins and into her arms. "Are you okay?" They asked each other at the same time, causing them to laugh softly at it. "I'm fine. are you?" Shippo asked glancing her over, she shook her head. "I'm fine. Just stuck... Wait.. Why aren't you chained up?" She asked, Shippo shrugged "No idea." He said as he looked to the chains. "Have you seen anyone else?" he asked as he moved from her arms towards the bounded chain in the ground and tried removing it himself, but had no luck either.
"your the first I've seen," he stated oving to her shoulders and begun looking around.
"You looking for the canine." Kagome stated shippo nodded. "Her name is Yuliana, but yes." He said as he jumped from her shoulder to a stronger piece of ruin."I wonder what is going on here." he stated, just as he did, the clouds over head begun to darken with odd looking purple clouds and a stronger wind begun to blow.
"I can answer that for you." A dark voice seem to boom from over head, causing Shippo to jump into Kagome's arms as they backed up into the ruined building and ducked down. "Hiding is useless for one who can see you." The voice boomed again, causing the two to bunker farther down together, as laughter echoed around them.
"What do you want?" Shippo finally called out.
"The Shikon no Tama. Hand it over and I will let you all go." The voice said from closer now. From behind them and to the west. They stood up, turned facing a darkening cloud upon the ground and begun to back up slowly.
"I don't know what that is...Where it is.." kagome mumbled out as she stepped back, one step at a time. putting distance between her and the clearing cloud, but darkening figure that stood with in it.
"Yes you do... I can sense its power lingering with in you." The voice was clearer now as the figure begun to clear in the clouded mist that was blowing away. Stood in the once cloud was a tall male with dark hair, purple eyes and markings around them. A dark smile and kimono adorned with stone battle armor upon it.
"I..I.. Do not know what you talk about." Kagome stumbled and fell back onto her butt once more as the figured approached. "The stone is only supposed to be of legend." She stated as she stood up.
"Ahh. So have we all thought. Till its power have awoken with in you and now can be sensed. You now hold the power with in you to turn this world around." He laughed out loud. "Now. Join my side and you will be free. Or let me rip that power from you ... and maybe you will live long enough for you to see e kill every human off of this earth, and over thrown the demon." He grinned with with such evil it radiated its own power.
"No.. I can not let you do that." Kagome said backing up till the chain would not allow her to back up any farther. The figure before her frowned, then grinned evilly. "Then it can not be helped." He laughed once then back up. "Then I shall have the jewel ripped fro your body and watch you bleed to your death." He smirked then turned and walked away. "The one who shall be your death, is one who despises humans greatly." With that said he disappeared on the same purple cloud/smoke he appeared on, and in that cloud of smoke showed glowing red eyes. Shippo chose that moment to try and use his fox magic to try and break the chain around Kagome's Ankle.
"Shippo.. What.. Whoo.. Is that.." She stuttered out as the cloud begun to fade and the figure begun to show. It was a tall figure with human based shape, red eyes shown through the dark fog, but as it begun to clear, white clothing dotted with red begun to show.
"That... Lo..Lord..Sesshomaru?!" Shippo said with equal amount of confusion and fear. "My Lord.. What are you doing here?!" he stumbled to stand before Kagome as she stood to her feet as the figure begun to approach leaving the dark fog and into the bright sun. A male with long silver hair, bright glowing red eyes, purple facial markings adorned with a white Kimono spotted with red designs and stone battle chest plate. He looked fierce and powerful as he stood there. He wore no weapon but his hands where open and bent so that his claws looked sharp and long at the tips of his finger. He bared back his lips to show his sharp canine as he growled at Shippo. "You have betrayed us!" he yelled out at the kitsune who's ears sees to press back and he whimpered loudly.
"I...I.." Shippo tried explaining but the male advanced. "No! I will hear nothing of it! Where is she!?" The male demanded.
"I.. I don't know!.." Shippo stood straight then, shaking with fear he knew he was no match for him, but he had to make some kind of stand, or so he believed.
Kagome was finally stable on her feet then and stood beside Shippo, her eyes narrowing on the male Yōkai before her. "Your the one.. The leader of the Yōkai tribes." She stated, her eyes narrowing even more, wishing she had her arrows or some kind of weapon on her.
"Human be silent! You are not who I am subjected to at the time being!" The male growled out, Shippo gave an equally, but much quieter, growl in return as he jumped before Shippo. "So not talk to Kagome that way!" Shippo warned, his orange tail puffing out as he tried to make him self appear bigger, stronger.
"So you have aided with the humans." The Yōkai growled out. "Then you must die, as well as her and Yuliana!" The male growled out as he jumped for them, his right hand extended out and growling and oddly green. Kagome grabbed Shippo and quickly turned her back towards him, just as a flash of black flashed by her, and headed right for the male, knocking him back quiet a few feet as growls echoed back and forth as black blur fought with white blur, making Kagome turn and watch as the two blurs jumped from ruin to ruin fighting each other.
"Yuliana..." Shippo whimpered out and jumped from Kagome's arms, and noted the chain close to their feet. "Kagome! look! The chain, it broke!" He stated holding the two broken ends with a grin. "Good, let's get outta here!" kagome offered but Shippo shook his head. "I need to try and help Yuliana!" Shippo Yelled out as looked from the fast moving blurs to Kagome.
Sighing Kagome bowed her head for a moment, then a moment later she straightened her self out and took a deep cleansing breath. "Alright, let's see what we can do to help!" Kagome offered with a smile, making Shippo jump for joy, jump to her shoulder as they ran about the ruin's hoping to find some kind of weapon, or anything to help.
Rounding a corner around one of the taller ruins, they slipped to a halt and begun backing up as they where met with silver and red. "Inuaysha!" Shippo yelled out, noting the lack of chains around him as he seemed to stalk towards them, his eyes tinted red around the edges.
"Shippo.. You traitor.. and Human.. You both must die.." he muttered out as he stalked towards them. "Look.. inuasyha is it?" Kagome held up her hands. "I.. I don't want to fight you." She stuttered out, as she ducked in time for him to swipe above her head, with a squeal she darted forward and begun running. "Shippo! We need a weapon!" Kagome yelled out as she tried out running the demons chasing her. Shippo nodded. "Right I'll go look for one. Be safe!" He yelled out, jumping from her shoulder and took a different direction, which caused Inuyasha to stop for a moment and re think what he was doing, turning he turned to chase Shippo instead.
Taking a breather, Kagome looked around her, as the sun shone on something shining not to far off, and in a corner of a ruin. Running over she pulled it free and found her self an arrow, bent at the tip, but the rest was still straight. "better then nothing." She mumbled to her self as she turned about to run off again when she met face to face with red eyes. "Ready to die human?" Inuyasha said, causing her to scream in his face, which made him pause for a split second, enough for her to turn and run. As she ran she turned and skidded around another ruin, just as Inuyasha clawed out and got her right forearm.
Wincing in pain Kagome kept on running, her heart racing in her chest, it was getting harder and harder to breath. She had never ran this much, or this hard in all her life and it was taking a toll on her. Rounding into another Ruin she was corned in. The walls to high to jump over and as she turned around, she was facing Inuyasha once more. Kagome backed up till she was prone to the wall and slumped, holding the point of the arrow out as a feeble attempt at a weapon it made Inuaysha pause and laugh. "That will do nothing against me with a bow." He laughed as he neared. "I might as well try though!" She called back hoping, and failing, to sound tough. Just as he was a good three feet in front of her she cowered and closed her eyes as she saw his arm and claws rise, as he was about to hit her, but the sound of body clashing into body had her open her eyes. Standing on top of Inuyasha who was thrown head first into the wall next to her, was the black furred canine from before.
"Run!" The female voice rung in her head, as Kagome ran past them, and almost right into a body of white and stone.
"Move human!" The Lord yelled as he tossed Kagome to the side and to the ground. She got up in a daze noting that his clothing was torn and blood spots covered his legs, and blood dripped down an exposed arm, as he charged at the black furred canine once more. "Will you just snap out of it already!" Kagome heard the female voice yell out as she jumped from Inuyasha, onto Sesshomaru's shoulders, just her side met with the tips of his claws, but she got enough momentum to make him stumble as she jumped behind him and lead the chase away from Kagome, who stood to her feet a bit dazed out.
Grabbing the bent tipped arrow off the ground, she turned to look at Inuyasha who was rising from the ground, a hand to his head as he shook it as if confused. Kagome begun to back away when he looked to her with golden eyes. He looked confused and stood, and held out his arms. "I mean no harm." He tried reassuring her, but she shook her head.
"You just tried killing me.. Again! No way can I trust you!" kagome yelled out, then turned and ran, but was cut off by a flash of red as Inuyasha ran in front of her and blocked her path. Kagome stopped inches before crashing into him. "I'm not lying! You stupid human! I wont hurt you, unless you tick me off again!" he warned, kagome narrowed her eyes and took three steeps back. "I still don't trust you."
"And neither I you, but seeing as we are both trapped in this place. We might as well figure a way out together." He mumbled, he didn't like the idea, but it was the best he could come up with, and the quickest. Kagome thought it over a second then looked to her left and pointed.
"I doubt we can get over those walls.." Kagome started.
"I could jump them.." Inuyasha said with his arms tucked into the sleeves of his Haori.
"oh..Kay.. Then how about that.." She pointed out the furred canine fighting the Yōkai near by, just as Shippo appered by Kagomes side.
"I found a bow!" He smiled, then noted Inuyasha and jumped backwards for a moment, then straightened up and stood in front of Kagome. "I will not let you hurt her."
"I don't plan on it." inuyasha huffed causing Shippo to stumble a step then look to Kagome who only shrugged as she slung the bow on her shoulder.
"Anyway... How are we going to get them to stop?" kagome asked, looking to the fight duo. Shippo shrugged. "How did you get him to stop?" Shippo asked.
"Yuliana knocked him out into a wall." Kagome said, and Shippo laughed once only to stop at Inuaysha glare.
"So we only need to knock him out?" Inuaysha grinned cracking his knuckles. "This had a long time coming." He said inching his way towards the fighting pair. Kagome steeped back. "Is he always this eager to fight?" kagome asked.
"Even more so." Shippo sighed. "Though he wont win." Shippo stated coley.
"Why not?" Kagome asked, looking at the kitsune on her shoulder.
"Sesshomaru is wayyyy Stronger." He stated his eyes on the fight before them, watching as Inuyasha ran at the fighting pair. Jumped at Sesshomaru and was thrown back in the same instance. "I see that." Kagome said, unaware of the presence looming behind her, before it was too late.
Unaware of the dark figure behind her, Kagome didn't know what was going on till she felt a sharp piercing pain on her left side, and blood splattered on the ground before her, as well as a round shinning orb. Gasping in a sharp intake of breath she grasped her side and fell to her knees.
"Kagome!" Shippo yelled out as he jumped ot the ground, saw the shard, and looked to Kagome, then noticed the dark figure of the strange male, that stood before them before, was now standing behind them, his hand covered in blood that he was bringing to his lips.
"Smells wonderful. So pure.. So powerful.." He licked his finger once before locking his gaze on the Kitsune. "I shall be having that!" He yelled out, shooting his hand towards the gem in the Kitsune's hand. "No!" "Run!" Kagome and Shippo yelled together as Shippo turned and ran off, knowing Kagome was hurt, he oddly knew that this was to important at the moment as well, as well as Listening to Kagome's word.
The blood and the yelling seemed to distract the fighting trio, as they all paused to looked behind them at what was happening, giving the Black furred canine a chance to bite hard into the Yōkai's left side, and draw a lot of blood, as Inuyasha landed a punch to the males head, causing him to fall back. Leaving him to lay there dazed and confused, Inuyasha ran from the dark strange male behind Kagome, knowing that this male had to be the reason behind their capture, while the canine moved to run for Shippo who was running for her.
In the Chaos of everything, Kagome was able to gather her barrings enough that she stood to her feet and watched as the dark strange male was chasing Shippo and the canine, and Inuyasha was chasing him. 'You have to stop him from getting that gem.' A soft voice rang in her head. With all the other ringing from the pain in her head, she didn't question it, as she knocked the arrow into the bow she pulled off her shoulder, she took aim at the strange male. 'Don't fire yet.. Just wait.' The voice called again guiding her hand.
As Kagome waited Shippo had tripped before the canine could help and dropped the gem, it rolled a good few feet away before a green tentacle shot out from the strange male and for the gem, picking it up. With a triumphant laugh he held it in the air. "Finally! The Shikon no Tama is mine!" He laughed as he looked to the others who stared at him, or glared. "Now I have the power to kill all of you!" He laughed as the gem begun to glow and darken.
"Now!" Kagome yelled out as the voice yelled out into her head and she shot the arrow aiming for the tentacle that held the gem, the arrow shot strong and begun to glow a bright pink/purple as it headed for its target, but instead of hitting it, it hit the tentacle as well as the gem straight on. It hit the gem hard enough it knocked it out of the grasp of the tentacle that had begun to purify and burn, causing the male to screech out in pain and anger. The gem floated for a second as cracking sounds could be heard, as the gem split evenly in four directions splitting the gem into eight equal pieces, and scattered in all direction.
One gem went right into the strange males head and caused him to shriek and cloud him self in purple fog/smoke and run away. Five pieces went flying high into the sky and into different directions. One went straight into the canines side, making her glow very bright as she fell over and stopped moving and seemed to be adsorbed into her skin. The other landed right in front of Kagome and glowed as she picked up the shard as she studied it.
"Well that didn't go as planned..." Kagome mumbled as she stood, and held the gem in one hand, her other hand to the still bleeding wound.
"Kagome! Your hurt!" Shippo called out, running over to the female as she stumbled and feel to her knees once again. "At least he didn't get the gem." Kagome said to Shippo as her world turned black and she passed out to the image of Shippo's worrying face hovering near hers.
Hope you enjoyed this first chapter made for this story in years. I will try my best to write a lot more. I know its lengthier then the others, but I had time to make up for, and this is the result.
