Hi guys! SO SORRY I haven't updated in ages! I got a bad case of Writer's Block :(
Anyway, before we start, I'd like to thank Son of Whitebeard for this idea.
Enjoy!
Chapter 19
A Fat Chance of Victory Part 1
"Red Energy Laser Boost!" The Red Energy Ranger fearlessly dashed his way through an group of robots. The Rangers were practicing their training skills with an army of Dr. Sparks' robots to test their skills and practice what they had learned over their past few battles.
"Blue Energy Chill Attack!" The Blue Energy Ranger turned the ground around her the the robots that were attacking her into ice before pulling out her Ice Blade and gliding along the ice, slashing at them. "Ice Blast!" she shouted, shooting the rest with icy air. A few of them flew helplessly to Callum who finished them off with him Lightning Saber.
The Pink Energy Ranger slid down onto her back and through a robot's leg before kicking it from behind, knocking it over. She then flipped to her feet, only to realise that she was surrounded by a group of robots. Not intimidated, she leapt into the air. "Pink Energy Air Twister!" she shouted, twisting, collecting pink energy and shooting it at the robots, knocking them out in seconds.
"Yellow Energy Enforce Strike!" The Yellow Energy Ranger charged up the energy hockey stick and puc and used it to strike the army of robots. He then glanced behind him to see that there were more robots charging towards him and pulled out his Hock Hammer. Concentrating on defeating the robots, he struck them all in one blow.
The Green Energy Ranger pulled out his Racket Blaster. "This should be easy." He shot a few bullets at the robots who all dodged out of the way.
"Huh?"
Before he could react, the robots were charging at him away. Jason flipped out of the way and shot more bullets at the robots. Again, they ducked and continued to charge at him.
"WHAT THE-" Jason began but was interrupted when the robots began to shoot beams at him. As they blasted into his Ranger costume, sparks flew out and Jason stumbled over. The robots prepared to strike them again, making Jason cringe. But just before the robots could move, Callum struck them with his Lightning Saber.
"Thanks man!" said Jason. "Now let me finish 'em off!"
Everyone stared at him. For a moment there was an awkward silence.
Finally Olivia spoke. "Jason . . . Callum just finished them off for you."
Jason lowered his eyebrows. "Huh?"
"If you weren't so lasy with that blaster of yours, you would have defeated them yourself," said Zoe in a cocky tone.
"What do you mean 'lazy'? I'm not the one with new powers! You guys are getting all the new abilities and I'm not!" Jason complained.
"Maybe that's because you haven't overcome your main weakness yet."
The Rangers glanced at Dr. Sparks who had been watching them the entire time.
"Power Down," they chanted, morphing back into their normal training tracksuit outfits before Callum asked the scientist "What do you mean?"
Dr. Sparks smiled. "I was hoping you'd ask me that. You see, you don't just earn powers like that. You have to prove you deserve them. Callum overcame his fear of Master Paine to earn his Red Energy Laser Boost. Zoe earned her Blue Energy Chill Attack by learning to hold back and not overwork herself. Olivia proved that she could be as strong and intelligent as her teammates, earning her the Pink Energy Air Twister. Alex has learned to become less protective of Olivia and recieved the Yellow Energy Enforce Strike."
He lowered his eyebrows and gave Jason a look. "Jason, I'm still looking for you to push yourself to the limits. You can't just fight. You need to push yourself as far as you can go to defeat the villain. If you don't then you're fightning a losing battle."
Jason sighed. "But I've been trying my best since we started."
"Well then, you need to try harder."
"Yeah, Dr. Sparks is right," said Callum. "Alex has been doing all he can to protect us and Olivia's been trying her hardest to prove she's worthy of her powers. And Zoe's working her butt off. She's already gone into two battles alone, not to mention she ended up with a broken wrist at one point!"
Zoe blushed at this.
"Okay then! I'll try harder!" Jason promised. "But . . . when am I going to get the oppurtunity?"
"Can't I at least-"
"NO!" Master Paine roared at Ernestine. "I can't risk letting you waste my powers again! Besides, they all have new abilities! We need to find a way to overpower them if we have any chance of claiming the Sports Energy power!"
Ernestine chuckled. "You seeked the perfect oppurtunity to mention that, Master. The Power Rangers aren't the only ones with Sports Energy Power . . . I've heard legends that there's more power, maybe even more Rangers out there."
"More Rangers?!" Master Paine jumped up. "What do you mean 'MORE RANGERS?"'
Ernestine cringed. "I- I don't know whether there are other Energy Rangers out there or not! But I DO know that there is more power!" she squeaked.
Paine lowered his eyebrows. "Really?" Where?" he growled.
A mischievous grin came to Ernestine's face. "If you give me back my Amazon powers back, I will find the energy power for you. And I will create a monster to hold the Rangers back. Just in case . . . I have the perfect one in mind."
Master Paine growled. Then reluctantly, he held up a hand. "If I trust you to use my powers wisely . . . you must retrive the energy power . . . ALL for me. Or else . . . I will destroy you. You got that?"
Ernestine nodded enthusiastically. "Y- yes! Thank you Master! I won't disappoint you!"
"You'd better not."
"Rangers, come here for a minute!"
Callum, Zoe, Olivia, Alex and Jason raced over to the computer.
"What is it?" asked Olivia.
"I'm picking up the strangest energy symbols," said Dr. Sparks. "They're all over the place, in the street, in the forest . . ."
"What do you think they mean?" said Alex, as confused as everyone else.
Dr. Sparks shook his head. "I don't know. What I do know though, is that the readings are very positive. In fact, if my calculations are correct, they could even be usable and help us get a step forward to defeating Master Paine! I want you to split up and check it out. Callum and Alex will examine the street and Jason, Olivia and Zoe will check out the forest."
"Right," Callum nodded as the Rangers headed off in their seperate ways. He then glanced at Jason. "Remember to PUSH yourself if you come across any monsters, alright?"
"Don't worry, Callum. I'll make sure he does just that," said Zoe, glaring at the green ranger.
"Yeah yeah," Jason muttered as they ran out the door.
Meanwhile, in the middle of the street, Ernestine, or once again, the Amazon Ranger began to giggle.
"Those Rangers think they can retrieve the energy power before me," she chuckled. "If only they knew about the little surprise I have in store for them . . ."
Sorry about the short chappie! I just wanted to keep this story up to date! I'll update as soon as I can!
See you
