Hey guys, how are you? It's been a long time, hasn't it?

Before we begin, I just want to let you know that I've changed Olivia's weapon name from Pole Jumper to Energy Vault. I've edited the last few chapters, changing the name to avoid confusion. :)

Chapter 21

A Fat Chance Of Victory Part 3

Jason and Olivia stood in front of the mirror, both of them examining Jason's reflection very closely.

"Well?" Olivia insisted.

"Um . . ." Jason hesitated. "My jumper DOES feel a little tighter than usual . . ."

Olivia frowned. "Right . . . We need to get to the bottom of this."

"Huh?" Jason stared at her. "What do you mean?"

The pink ranger groaned. "We need to get to the bottom of this sudden weight gain! It can't happen just like that," she explained, snapping her fingers. "Did you have any snacks in the last 24 hours?"

"Just one packet of chips. And they were lightly salted too," muttered Jason.

Olivia lowered her eyebrows, so low it wrinkled her forehead slightly. Jason had never seen her look so focused.

"Lightly salted chips aren't that fatterning," she murmured, more to herself than to Jason. "And for the last 24 hours we've been doing nothing but training, fighting villains and doing activities in our spare time. Jason, what were you doing when we weren't practicing our combat skills?"

"Playing tennis. Lots of it," said Jason. He suddenly perked up, a mischievous grin coming to his face. "Hey! Did I ever tell you that I'm the BEST player on my team? I was the only reason my team ever won any games!"

Olivia frowned, not impressed. "Jason, I'm serious. I'm worried about this whole weight gain thing. I think Blubba might have something to do it. And if he does, I dread to think what else that slime might have to done to you. I think we should get Dr. Sparks to take a look at it."

"Okay then," muttered Jason calmly before raising his eyebrows. "Did you just say you were WORRIED about me?"

"No," Olivia replied smartly. "I said I was worried about you gaining weight. Now lets get you checked out with Dr. Sparks."

They were about to make their way to their mentor when the sound of the alarm filled the building. Olivia frowned and Jason rolled his eyes as they joined Callum, Zoe and Alex in the main room with the computer.

"Let me guess. Blubba's back?" asked Zoe.

"Yes," said Dr. Sparks. "And with a few extra pounds too," he added, examining the monster on the computer screen. He had grown to mega size and was chomping on a car that was fortunately empty.

"There's no time to waste," said Callum. "It won't be long till he starts feasting on people too. We'll need the MegaZord for this one!"

The five teens immediately stood into position and held out their Energy Morphers.

"Ready?" Callum shouted.

"Ready!" the others replied loudly.

"Sports Energy, Suit Up!"

Flashes of red, blue, pink and yellow filled the air and in a flash, Callum, Zoe, Olivia and Alex had morphed into the Red, Blue, Pink and Yellow Energy Rangers. But Jason remained the way he was.

Staring down at himself in horror, he turned to the others and exclaimed "Why isn't my Energy Morpher working?"

The others stared at him in tense silence. That silence was quickly broken by Zoe.

"You've got to be kidding me," she muttered.

"What happened to you?" asked Callum. "What did you do when we split up?"

"I- I- I didn't do anything! I just-" Jason brought his hands to his face in frustration.

Callum sighed. "We haven't got time for this. We can still use our Zord Energy. Come on!"

The four remaining Rangers raced off, Olivia taking a split second to glance behind at Jason as they did so. Jason smirked slightly at this but then turned serious when he felt Dr. Sparks tap his shoulder.

"Jason, I need to take a look at your morpher. It's urgent."

Jason didn't need to be asked twice. He immediately handed it over to the scientist who wasted no time in heading into his lab to examine it closely. Now on his own, Jason sighed and turned his attention to the computer.

"I wonder what my mates are up to."

He suddenly felt a churning feeling in his stomach. Jason glanced down at himself, his belt feeling tighter with every passing second. Next thing, it snapped, exposing his stomach that had somehow increased in size.

"Oh no!" Jason brought his hands to his stomach frantically. "Livvy was right! I AM gaining weight!"

"Zord Energy Unleash!"

Callum, Zoe, Olivia and Alex morphed from Energy Rangers to Energy Zords within seconds before making their way over to Blubba who was routing through a building in search of people.

"HEY!" the Bullet Dasher called, getting the monster's attention before he could grab anyone.

Blubba looked up. "You interrupted my lunch!"

"Didn't anyone ever tell you to go on a diet?" the Blade Skater taunted.

"Nope!" Blubba replied. "I'll eat anything I like- ESPECIALLY Power Rangers like you!" With that, he shot slime from his warts. The Zords managed to dodge out of the way before the Tumble Glider sprung into action.

"Try THIS on for size, you fat beast!" she declared as the leapt into the air and rolled up into a ball before charging herself at Blubba and bouncing hard off him. The impact caused Blubba to stumble backwards as Olivia landed neatly on two feet.

"You know what my dad always said to me?" Callum grinned, preparing himself to strike. "Nothing's better than a good run to burn off the calories!"

He demonstrated by quickly dashing around Blubba, so fast, the friction created a ring of fire that surrounded Blubba and shot into him.

"AHH! TOO HOT!"

Callum skidded to a hault and took a moment to admire the effects. "One extra fattened, extra hot alien coming up!"

"Extra crispy!" Alex added jokingly. "Just the way I like it!"

Olivia froze as soon as she heard what the boys had said, remembering her confrontation with Jason from earlier. "Guys! We need to get back to the lab!"

The others stared at her.

"Why? What's wrong?" Alex asked, worried about his sister's sudden enthusiasm to go back. But before Olivia could react, Blubba lashed out. He had used his slime to extinguish Callum's fire and now he was MAD!

"You're too bitter for me!" he yelled. "And bitter food always has that touch of acid in it!" He shot red acid out of his warts. The Energy Zords ducked and the acid struck and quickly dissolved another building.

"Alright! It's time to get rid of this guy's appetite on e and for all!" shouted Zoe, getting frustrated. Holding up her bladed arms, she charged at Blubba and hollered "Take THIS!"

"Zoe, wait!" Callum cried.

SLASH!

With one swipe of her blade, Zoe cut into Blabba's huge stomach. Blubba let out a scream of pain and for a split second, Zoe thought she had him. But she was quickly proved wrong as Blubba's screams quickly turned to screams of laughter. Next thing, gallon's of purplish-blue slkme began pouring from his stomach, striking each Energy Zord, causing sparks to fly out of them.

None of them could have predicted what happened next. Callum, Zoe, Olivia and Alex felt an explosion inside of them before they all felt lighter and were sent flying from a high distance.

Without a moment's hesitation, Callum grabbed Zoe and Alex and used his Red Energy Laser Boost to decrease the height of the fall while Olivia grabbed her Energy Vault to land more gently.

"That was crazy!" exclaimed Zoe.

"At least we're okay. And he didn't drain our energy," gasped Callum.

"Guys . . ." Olivia was staring into the sky. "That's not the least of our worries! Look!" she cried, pointig upwards.

The other Rangers stared at her then followed her finger. The impact of what they saw nearly made each of then, even Zoe faint.

"But . . . THAT'S IMPOSSIBLE!" she shrieked.

"I think he just made it possible!" Alex exclaimed.

Looking down at the Rangers from his great height with his belly just as big as before, Blubba roared with laughter. He put his arma around the Bullet Dasher, Blade Skater, Tumble Glider and Fisticufc Knight Zords.

"How did he do that?" Callum was as confused as he was horrified. "We BECOME the Zords! How did he take control of the Zords?"

"It MUST have been the slime from his stomach," said Olivia. "I don't know how he did it but it definetaly worked!"

"Well what are we gonna do?" Zoe yelled, too wormed up to admit she was at fault in this situation.

Blubba laughed again. "Exactly! Now that I've got four out of five of your Zords and you're now helpless midgets, what WILL you do?"

And I'm gonna leave it there . . . for now! XD

Ideas for the outbreak of this situation are more than welcome. Anx yes, there is a lil' somethin' going on between Jason and Olivia! *wink, wink!*
