Chapter Thrirteen
A few days ago~
Sesshomaru woke to a strange sound, one he wasn't surprised to hear, but enough to make him open his eyes to pay it any attention.
The young female human he had saved a few days back was still traveling by his side. She was able to keep up most days, despite her lips and rarely complained. Today she seemed to have tears in her eyes as she wrapped her tender ankle into what looks like leaves and twigs. Be noticed she had been doing this lately to ease the pain of the broken bone, though he was aware all the walking they did would not help it mend correctly.
He closed his eyes again, realizing the sound he had heard was of her trying to stay quiet as she fixed her ankle, as she had made the sound once more. A yip of pain, muffled by the cloth of her kimono on her arm.
Be had told her every day she should stay back and away, he had no use for a human child to be holding him back, now was he going to save her or fend for her food, but she refused to leave his side and was stubborn.
Hours passed before he opened his eyes once more, the presence of the child was gone, but not far. He was able to hear her humming not to far away in the tall footage around them.
Today he took a break besides a large tree, surrounded by other smaller trees and large shrubbery. The sun barely shone through the thick leaves and branch's above him, and was the perfect amount of shade.
The wound along his side was still having problems healing and seem go be infected with some toxin his blood could not rid of. To think this great demon was being held back by a simple wound was something that angered him, causing his power to flare around him, before he calmed and it disappeared, just as as quick as he caught site of the girl standing before him.
She showed no ounce of fear, just pure awe, as she closed her mouth and skipped over to him. Smiling as she moved to sit by his side, the side with the sound. She was smart. Knowing he couldn't stike very well on that side, as she placed a large leaf on the ground.
On the leaf, was multiple plants and herbs as well as edible berries. The child showed to be smart as she used rocks to mash up the herbs and berries and looked to him. "This... this help." She spoke quietly, she rarely spoke and when she did it was a harsh whisper or only few words.
She pointed to the wound On his side. He turned to look away from her. What she had would not work, his body would heal on its own. "So as you wish " he answered anyway as he was aware the struggle she had to go through to do this
With some annoyance at having to remove his armor and open his haori himself. He sat like a statue as she added the past to his side with gentle hands and a hum he had come to get used to.
Once she was done she left to wash her hands in a stream not far off and returned with a hollowed our gorde she made the other day, and offered him water.
He narrowed his eyes but drank it anyway and even picked at the berries he offered after he realized she would not eat until he had first. Why was he doing this? To humor the child or maybe himself? He wasn't sure, a part of him knew she could slow him down if she refused to eat, but then again be would only glare at the ground when ever he found himself caring even an ounce.
And so this continued on for multiple days, as he traveled the lands with the human child, he learned she has no name and Thus called her Rin, as he made his way for his lands.
