"Human Sara why are you consuming some food by heating them and not others?" Invader Sam questioned as he curiously stared at Sara eating what looked like a tower of different organisms that humans consumed known as food.
Sara looked surprised at the sudden question. "Well, Sam some food is fit to be eaten without eating whereas the others have to be cooked which means heating food."
"How do you know if it has to be heated or eaten without being heated?" He asked again even more eager to know about these humans weird habits.
"Well you see when we get things from the ground and you know they can be easily eaten without heating them you call those food raw foods. Raw foods are to be eaten without eating but also can be eaten after heating them. There are some foods that have to be heated before you eat them because they have bacteria in it. Stuff that comes from animals like cows and goats have to be cooked before eating. You can not eat them raw." Sara replied hoping her complicated explanation was good enough to satisfy the alien.
Invader Sam had been sent by the international alien community to document the lifestyle of humans. He was doing quite a good job so far and was asking questions that Sara had never thought of before.
After a moment of silence Sam said, "So raw foods always taste better raw?"
With a second of hesitation Sara answered, "Not always. Things like broccoli and cauliflower taste better cooked. But things like cucumbers and strawberries taste better raw. It really just depends on the person eating its taste."
"Can you mix raw foods and unraw foods together?" Sam said eyeing the suspicious tower of food.
"Why not? This is a burger. It is made of a mixture of raw and cooked foods." Sara answered. She offered a piece of her burger to Sam who accepted it happily.
"What if people don't like cooked foods?" he asked separating the the meat from the rest of the sandwich.
"By cooked foods do you mean meat?"
"Meat?"
"Yes meat. It is the flesh of other animals and birds such as sheep and chickens." Sara patiently explained.
Sam looked at the ham he had just separated on his plate and looked horrified, "Wait you actually eat the flesh of other organisms."
Sara nodded and said, "It is healthy and contains the proteins vital for our developments."
"So, I won't get the proteins needed for me if I don't eat meat?"
"Of course not, you can get the protein you need from other foods too."
"So, I won't die?" Sam asked panicked.
"No you won't die if you don't eat meat. In fact some humans prefer not eat meat instead they eat other things like fruits and vegetables. They are called vegetarians." Sara said laughing at the thinking of the alien.
"So, I can be the first VEGETARIAN ALIEN." Sam said enthusastically.
