Charming Is Not so Charming

Chapter Twenty Two: Trying to Confess the Truth

Juliet woke up the next morning and told Juice she wasn't feeling well. He told her to rest and not come in at the office, that they would handle everything. She had lied about not feeling good, she just needed time away from the garage/clubhouse. She needed time to get her thoughts together. So she spent most of the morning, cleaning the house, doing laundry and did the grocery shopping. She went home and Juliet sat down on the couch and was trying to wrap her arms around her life. Having the time with Juice at the cabin had Juliet's questioning why she even came back here. She didn't come back to start a relationship or at least not so soon. She came back because she thought she killed her husband, she came back for her family, her unborn nephew mostly. Her thoughts were interrupted by her cell phone. She smiled thinking it was Juice but frowned when she looked at the screen, it was her estranged husband.

"What do you want Carter?" She asked answering. "Thought you had left town considering I haven't heard from you in weeks."

"That won't happen, Lettie." He said on the other end. "Did you have fun on your little getaway?"

"I'm really tired of your shenanigans. What the hell do you want?"

"Wow, that's a big word for you. I'm surprised considering where you come from." He said amused. "Didn't know biker whores had such big vocabularies."

She rolled her eyes.

"I just wanted to call and see how my wife's doing. Is that a crime?"

"It is when you threaten me."

He laughed.

"I'm glad to know you're doing well because you won't be long." He replied. "I'll see you soon, sweetheart."

He hung up and she tossed her phone beside her on the couch. She was running out of time.

She looked at the clock and it was a little after 1. She decided to go see Hale and see where he was at. Was he with Zobelle or was he with her? She pulled up in the parking lot of the station and got out.

She walked down the hall to Hale's office. She knocked on the open door and he looked up from his desk. He didn't look happy as she stepped inside and closed the door.

"You're in a shitty mood today, what's up?"

"Did you come to bail out your brother, step dad, and friends?"

"What?" Juliet asked confused.

"Jax, Clay, Tig and Opie got hauled in for brawling on Main Street."

Juliet sighed.

"That was a few hours after he came to see me. He told me that Otto got jumped in Stockton."

"What?" Juliet asked sitting on the edge of the seat.

"He said that we don't know who we're dealing with when it comes to Zobelle."

"That's what the hell that I have been trying to tell you!" Juliet said getting upset. "Do you believe me now, Hale? Or does something else bad need to happen?"

"I never said I didn't believe you." He said getting defensive and quickly calmed down. "You have to keep this information you know away from Jax and the club."

"Why the hell do you think I'm coming to you?" She asked. "The League is smart. They don't do things the way that the club does."

Hale sat back in his chair and crossed his arms.

"David, you have to do something before Charming becomes a war zone." Juliet said standing up. "Because it's fixing to get ugly and fast."

"Zobelle came in earlier and he gave me this." He told her looking at his computer screen.

She got up and walked behind his desk and it was a video, a video of Opie blowing up Darby's meth lab. Opie's face was very clear.

Juliet sighed and looked at Hale.

"Does Jax know about this?"

"No."

"David, if you are ever going to help me…" She said looking at him. "Tell him about this, please."

Hale sighed.

Juliet gave him a small smile and told him she would see him around. She headed over to the garage; she knew that there would be a vote on retaliation for Otto.

She pulled up at the garage and got out of her car. She was about to head into the office when Juice came out of the garage, still wearing his mechanic shirt and carrying his cut.

"Hey." She said with a smile as he leaned down and kissed her lips. "Can we talk for a minute?"

Before he could reply, Clay walked out of the clubhouse and whistled.

"Juice! Chapel!"

"Can't, baby." He told her regrettably. "We'll talk after the vote, ok?"

He didn't give her time to respond as he jogged across the lot.

"That's what I wanted to talk to you about." She mumbled.

She turned to head into the office when she heard a bike and her brother pulled up at the lot. He backed his bike up in his usual spot and took off his sunglasses and helmet. He nodded towards her and began to head towards the clubhouse.

"Jax, I really have to talk to you." She told her brother as she caught up to him.

"Not now, Jules." He said brushing her off as he went into the clubhouse.

She threw her arms up in the arm completely frustrated.

"Can't a girl confess the truth?"

"What truth?"

Juliet spun around quickly and seen Gemma standing behind her with her arms crossed.

"It's about Zobelle…"

"What about him?"

Juliet dragged her mom into the office and slammed the door closed.

"Well?" Gemma asked waiting.

"I've been hiding something..."

"Jesus, Juliet…you better start talking before I have a damn heart attack."

"I was married in Hawaii to a very powerful attorney. His uncle is Ethan Zobelle…."
