Charming Is Not so Charming

Chapter Twenty Six: Time with Juice

The next few days were absolute hell for everyone. The potluck at her mother's the night before was not at all a fun shindig. It seemed the whole club was at each other's throats. Jules had never seen anything like it within the tight knit club. With everything going on with them, her troubles seemed to be put on the backburner. She knew she was priority with her brother, just whatever he and Clay had going on had to be far worse. On the other hand, Unser had told her that Carter had left to go back to Hawaii but she wasn't relieved because she knew he'd be back. Carter was smart; he was planning something bigger for her.

She headed over to the police station before going to the shop. She had to see Hale. She went into his office and closed the door.

"Juliet."

"I wanted to thank you for last week." She told him. "You've always been too good to me."

"Yeah I know."

She smiled and sat down.

"Carter left town." She informed him. "and he will be back."

He nodded.

She thanked him once more before heading to the garage. She was looking over the repair invoices when her cell rang. She fished her phone out of her purse and answered it. It was the hospital telling her she could finally see Juice. She headed over to the hospital. She went up to the floor he was on and went to his door. She paused before pushing the door open. Today was the day she was going to tell Juice the truth, she wanted no more secrets between them.

She sighed loudly and pushed the door opened. He was sleeping soundly and she smiled. He had changed a little since she had last seen him. His hair had grown out slightly and you could no longer see the tribal tattoos on his head. She had to admit, she liked his new look. She went over to his bed and leaned down and kissed his cheek. He stirred and his eyes fluttered open slowly. Once he seen her face, the biggest smile crept on his face.

"I was wondering when my girlfriend was coming to come and see me." He half joked kissing her lips.

"Well blame hospital policy; only family." She said with a shrug. "but I've missed you and I'm so glad you're ok. I'm just assuming you got stabbed because of the club."

"I knew what I was signing up for five years ago." He said raising the head of the bed slightly so he could look at her better.

She walked over to the lone chair and sat down.

"So, when are you getting out of this shithole?"

"In a few more days." He said. "It hasn't been that bad. The sponge baths have been pretty awesome."

She frowned and his smile got bigger.

"It better be male nurses."

Once he seen she was serious, his smile faded.

"What's wrong?" He asked.

"I have something I need to tell you, Juice."

"Ok." He said shifting in his bed with a worried look on his face.

"I haven't been completely honest with you."

She wasn't used to being the one fessing up to anything; she was a Teller and they didn't do this. She was supposed to not care about lying or hurting anyone but she cared about Juice and he needed to know the truth from her before he found out when Jax told the club. She began from the beginning and he sat there in complete silence and about 10 minutes later she had finished and he sat there staring at his blanket, his expression blank.

"Juice, say something."

"What am I supposed to say?" He asked still staring at the blanket. "The whole time we've been together has been a lie. Jesus, the club could've used this information a long damn time ago."

"It hasn't been a lie." She said.

"You need you leave." He said finally looking up at her.

She was a little stunned by the way he was looking at her. He had never looked at her like that.

"Just go."

She nodded and got up. She headed to the door and turned around.

"I'm sorry."

He didn't even bother to acknowledge her and she walked out. She walked to her car and got inside slamming the door. She pulled out her phone and dialed out. Seconds later, a woman answered.

"Davis & Malone this is Melanie, how can I help you?"

"Hi, Melanie, could I speak to Carter Malone, please?"

"May I ask whose calling?"

"Yes, could you tell him it's his wife?"

"Hold please." She said off guard.

Seconds later, Carter got on the phone.

"Hello my dutiful wife." He said rather pleased with himself. "And what do I owe this pleasure?"

She rolled her eyes.

"What will it take for you and your uncle to back off?" She asked with a sigh.
