"My Lord, why did you refuse to give aid to Daenerys Targaryen?"
"I would rather gain nothing, than lose everything."
The Lord begins to pace in his solar.
"The Targaryen does have a large army and she does command dragons. But numbers do not matter if you cannot use them effectively. Numbers do not matter if there isn't a competent military leader creating a strategy to defeat his foes. She does not have a competent military leader; therefore, it is only a matter of time before she loses."
The Lord turns to face his pensive Steward with a serious look on his face.
"She does not know Westeros, not truly. If she knew what she was doing she would have used Varys to gain more information about the state of the Seven Kingdoms. Besides, the Lannister's have the Kingslayer, who does have military experience. While his brother, Tyrion Lannister, the Imp, is highly intelligent, his expertise is in politics not military strategy. He is more suited to being the Hand of the King than being a military commander."
The Lord darkly chuckles.
"Also, with her Dothraki horde, she will have trouble finding allies to support her, even if they want the Lannister's dead. While the Unsullied are highly trained, that is all that they are. Highly trained. There is a difference between training and battle. What large battles have they been in? What wars have they fought in from beginning to end? Westeros has been in constant war for years. We have the battle experience. They do not. And that makes all the difference."
