Rating: K+
Warning(s): FLUFFFF. And I guess maybe a little sexual tension in the end. Probably.
Comments: IT'S SAKURA'S BIRTHDAY YO. WHAT MORE COULD SHE WANT (besides smut that is).
She was exhausted. He could tell from the moment she arrived home, head lulled forward, eyes half drooped, and movements languid as she pushed off her shoes and shrugged off her jacket. He watched from his place at the counter as she gave a yawn, long and wide—even a little cute—before she tipped her chin up and looked at him, lips splitting in a small, lopsided smile.
"Hey," she murmured, almost sluggishly making her way to him.
Sasuke put his cup of tea down before he quickly went up to her, his arms going protectively around her waist as she practically melted against him. He frowned as she contently hummed against his shoulder, her body leaning heavily onto his.
"Long day?" he asked quietly, brushing his hands over her lower back soothingly. His eyes softened when she nodded sleepily, mumbling incoherently. "I can make you some tea, if you want," he suggested, gently pulling her away so he could look at her. His brows furrowed a bit more as she rubbed at her eyes and nodded, letting out another yawn. "Why don't you take a shower while I do that?"
She smiled again, small and genuine and tired. He returned it a little, gently tucking a lock of hair behind her ear before sending her off again. He watched her listlessly walk away until she disappeared in the bathroom, a long sigh leaving his lips as he heard the shower running. It should wake her up a little.
Turning over towards the kitchen, Sasuke went over to the cabinets where they'd placed the tea bags and carefully pondered which one he would make. He settled for chamomile. Reaching for the still-hot kettle, Sasuke pulled out a cup from the side cabinet and readied her tea.
He was just on his way to their living room when Sakura came out of the bathroom, seemingly a little more aware. "Hey," he called, when she turned to the hallway leading to their bedroom. "Don't worry about that, I'll a shirt for you. Just take a seat." He walked over and put the tray down on their coffee table pointedly. "Drink up."
"Hmm, taking such good care of me today," she murmured to him as he joined her side again. She put a careful hand on his cheek, giving him a light kiss. "Thank you."
He simply hummed in response, shifting to his side as she walked past him and padded over to the living room, hands reaching for the tea before she curled up on the couch, and then left to retrieve one of his old shirts in their bedroom.
When he came back, the television was turned on and she was twirling a strand of wet pink hair around her finger. The smile she gave him when she took notice of his presence was positively glowing.
"Thanks," she whispered once he sat beside her and handed over the shirt. She slipped it on quickly, snuggling up into the warmth.
He couldn't help staring at her, thinking she was beautiful. When she noticed, her smile brightened and she reached for his hand, intertwining their fingers. He gave a light squeeze, before he turned to his eyes to the screen and sipped his own tea.
"You made me chamomile tea," Sakura murmured after a moment, sinking more deeply into the couch. Her feet were in his lap by now. "That's what you always make me when you think I'm stressed out."
"Because you are," he replied softly, tipping his head back a little to rest against the back of the couch. "You always are after long days like this one."
"Hmm." She smiled sleepily at him, stretching her legs out further. "Yeah," she said, closing her eyes a little. "You're right, I am."
"And it helps you sleep."
"Hmmm. It does."
Sasuke almost smiled. When he noticed their empty tea cups, he gave her hand one last brush on the back before letting go and putting the cups away on the coffee table. Sakura didn't seem to mind.
And she was just about ready to doze off before she felt warm, big hands grasp her feet, palms and fingers working slowly into every sore pressure point, making her shudder with absolute pleasure. God that felt nice.
"Sasuke," she sighed, biting her lip a little. "Are you giving me a foot massage?"
There was a soft chuckle. "No," he replied easily, his hands moving up to mold her calves for a good minute, before he slowly worked them down to her feet again. "Not just the feet."
Groaning a little, Sakura felt herself turn into putty from his working hands. "If you're trying to imply that you're in the process of giving me a full body massage…" She paused as his hands worked up to her thighs, doing absolute wonders to her aching, overworked muscles. She really couldn't help but to wonder if he'd been delving into the massage therapy books in their library. "…I might just have fallen completely in love with you again."
In the softest tone, he murmured, "Good."
She didn't see the soft grin he sent her way at that—her eyes were screwed shut in absolute nirvana.
For nearly the next hour and a half, he worked on her body: kneading the tense muscles, squeezing flesh and pressing points. She writhed and shuddered under his touch, groaning in great appreciation of the way his hands took care of her, relishing in every wave of relaxing bliss that washed over her. This really was the best way to end a long, busy day or work.
In the end, she fell asleep.
He took a moment to reach for her hand and brushed his lips over her knuckles, kissing each of them slowly, affectionately. He took extra care kissing the one with the golden band.
Cradling her cheek with his free hand, Sasuke ran his thumb over her bottom lip lovingly. He smiled.
"Happy birthday, Sakura."
Couldn't help myself.
