On the fifth day after what transpired on December 20th, Cross awoke to find it snowing outside the window. He had taken care of the arrangements for Allen's Birthday, and he was in a good mood. He got up and got dressed; it was much too cold to tan today...
He went to Allen's room to wake him up; he opened the door a crack and saw Allen and Tim sleeping peacefully. Tim had been sleeping with Allen a good bit lately... Though, then again, Allen had been depressed, and Tim usually stayed with Allen when he wasn't feeling well.
Cross slipped inside and shook Allen awake gently. Tim woke first, and stretched his wings, accidentally tickling Allen's nose in the process. Allen opened his eyes sleepily to find a golden wing in his face, and tried to go back to sleep, but his Master had pulled the cover off him. Allen glared at his Master, but Cross just smiled down at his apprentice. A shiver ran down Allen's back; his Master had something awful in store for him, he just knew it...
After being kindly but roughly dressed, a half asleep Allen was lead into the kitchen by his Master, who seemed oddly excited, only worsening Allen's fear. But as Allen entered the room, his eyes widened and sparkled in the sunlight that poured through the window after bouncing off the still falling snow.
The square kitchen table was laden with food that sparkled just as Allen's eyes did; there was a typical, picture perfect Christmas dinner laid out, with a turkey as the main item.
Allen instantly forgot his depressed state, and Cross could tell; Cross' mood heightened with every passing second as Allen pulled out and sat in the chair directly in front of the turkey. Cross took to one of the other chairs, beside Allen, and opened a new bottle of wine to drink as Allen ate breakfast.
'Well, what are you waiting for? Its all yours, eat it already.' Cross prodded with a smile as he noticed Allen taking a little from each plate.
Allen abandoned being modest after a few moments of shock; he began wolfing the food, forgetting to even put it on his plate. Cross watched and laughed to himself on occasion. The sight was, admittedly, adorable.
The table had been cleaned of everything edible thanks to Allen, who now dozed at his place with his head resting on his arms. Cross decided to clean the table off, and when that was done, he sat back down at the table and continued to drink the wine he had taken to while Allen was eating. He looked over to Allen, whose smile could be seen from the half of his face that was shown, the cursed half. Cross was glad to see him smile after the weeks of depression. With Allen sleeping and the table clean, Cross decided to go out... Except, the snow had pretty much blocked them into the house... His stomach growled, reminding him he hadn't eaten since he'd gotten up, so he went to the kitchen to find himself some food...
Cross had eaten, and Allen was still asleep at the table; Cross felt like if Allen was going to sleep, then he should go back to bed, but he wasn't going to wake him up just to make him move. Cross knew he wasn't going to just leave Allen at the table the rest of the day... He went over and gently picked Allen up; he felt like he weighed much more than when he was awake, and it was awkward as Cross carried Allen to his bedroom and placed him on his bed. Allen immediately curled up on his bed, and Tim fluttered in and over to him; Timcanpy snuggled into Allen as he usually did.
Cross went to his own bedroom after he thought Allen was comfortable and took a nap himself.
