WHAT UP!

So, there is going to be a little time skip to about the middle of February in this chapter. We're getting closer to the birth Baby Moon!

Also, little family update as to why I fell off the face of fanfiction. My mom recently got her port out, which means she is OFFICIALLY done with all cancer treatments. Another is that my grandmother passed away in January and I was one of her primary care takers up to the end. You can imagine how hard that hit my family.

Hopefully, you guys can forgive me and hopefully you will enjoy this chapter!

Disclaimer: I do not own anything related to Austin and Ally

Chapter 19

The 'Baby Proof' Plan

No One's POV

It was the middle of the night when Austin awoke to go to the bathroom.

He had only recently gone to bed, having had a conference call with Jimmy and several other backers only an hour ago. They were in the middle of planning Austin's first mini tour after the success of his first album and, while he would have loved to do a full tour, he wanted to be there for the first few months of their baby's life.

"Only a few more weeks." He thought as he threw the covers off himself. It still hadn't hit him yet that he would be a father soon, but it was like his dad had told him.

'When you hold that little baby in your arms for the first time, you'll know.'

While that didn't put his mind at complete ease, he found comfort in the idea of holding that little girl. Thinking about whether she would look more like Ally or like him, whose hair color she would get and if she would be loud or quiet. It just made him even more excited to be a dad.

As he walked out of his and Ally's room, he noticed that the living room light had been turned on. He didn't pay much attention as he made his way to the-

"Austin!" He jumped slightly as his pregnant fiancé stopped him from getting to the bathroom. He was also still half asleep, so he didn't see her sitting on the couch.

"Hey," He said as his eyes adjusted to the light. "What are you doing up? It's 2 in the morning."

"I couldn't sleep. My mind has been running a mile a minute since our last ultrasound." Ally said as she got up, well more like struggled to get up. Her belly had grown a lot and, with her small frame, it made it a little hard to move around.

Austin, seeing this, walked over and sat on the couch next to her.

"Look Ally, it's nothing you need to worry. Everything will be fine."

"Oh what do you know?!" She snapped at him. "You're not the one who is going to be pushing the human equivalent of a bowling ball out of a hole that could barely fit your-"

"Okay, breath." Austin said before Ally could finish that sentence. Ally, feeling her face begin to burn red, took a deep breath in and then let it out.

"Thank you, but you know that's not what I meant." She said as she pulled her fluffy purple robe around herself. "We really need to get everything ready for this baby BEFORE she arrives."

"What are you taking about?" Austin said, a little confused at what she meant. "The baby's nursery is all set up and ready. I told you that you'll get to see once we bring her home." Ally rolled her eyes as her fiancé didn't seem to grasp what she was trying to say.

"No Austin, we need our Baby Plan in place." Again, Austin's face was marred with a confused expression.

"Our what?

"Our Baby Plan." Ally reached next to her on the side table as she pulled out pamphlets from their last Lamaze class. "Look. It explains that the best way to prepare for the birth of your baby is to have a plan put forth."

Austin read over the pages of the pamphlets and couldn't believe the amount of preparation that was apparently needed.

"You sure we need all of this? I mean, anything can happen that would affect any plan we set up."

"Well, isn't better to have something set up than nothing?" Ally said, trying to reason with him.

"Look, it's late and I've been up since 7 this morning. You also need your rest because what's the point of planning a healthy birth if the mother is stressed out of her mind?" Austin said as he stood up from the couch, his hands held out to help Ally up.

Not satisfied with his answer, Ally was about the give her own rebuttal when she was stopped by her own yawn.

"I guess you're right." She took ahold of his waiting hands and, with great struggle, heaved herself up from the couch. She braced her hands on her lower back to relieve the pressure that had been building up from her slouching. "I just can't wait for this all to be over. I mean, I love her, but she really needs to stop sitting on my bladder. Do you know how many times I've had to go to the bathroom tonight?"

And that's when Austin remembered the whole reason he got up in the first place.

"Yeah speaking of that." And then he ran off in the direction of the bathroom.

A week had passed since Austin and Ally had talked about making a baby plan and they had tried many times to come up with one, but nothing seemed to be working. Either Austin would forget something, like the baby's first outfit or the car seat they would put her in, or Ally would use her fake contractions to wake him in the middle of night. She liked to call those her 'Hospital Drills,' while Austin called it his 'Post Tour Meeting Sleep Deprivers'. Austin kept swearing that he was going to develop gray hair before he turns 30.

However, today was going to be different. As it was close to Valentine's Day, Austin had suggested that they have a little pre-baby date because who knew when they would get a day like that once the baby got here?

"So, how do I look?" Ally said as she came out in her date outfit. Austin saw her dressed in a black, pregnancy dress that came in just bellow the knee and had a ruffled hem on the bottom. It had a bit of deep neckline, but not enough that her sensitive breasts would be uncomfortable.

"You look great." He said as he got up, wrapped his arm around her and kissed her on the forehead,

"Please, my ankle are so swollen I can't even wear heels and Aria decided to play soccer with my insides most of this morning. You're truly lucky I love you enough to go out tonight." She said as she pulled her hair into a loose side ponytail. Austin only smiled and help her into her black bolero jacket.

"Don't worry, this evening will be totally worth getting you out of your ratty pajamas and put on a bra and make up."

"Hey, you're the one who bought me that pajama set!" She playfully swatted his chest with her clutch. "Besides, neither one of dressed up too much." Austin had decided to dress in a white button down with a pair of brown pants and belt. He wore a pair of brown converse and a silver watch was on his wrist.

"Well, where we're going isn't exactly a very dressy place." He told her as they walked out the door of their apartment. "I know you haven't been very comfortable lately, what with it being the end of pregnancy, but I think this will really brighten up your spirits."

Ally, being who she is, was a little skeptical of whatever Austin had planned. He wasn't the best at planning surprises, or keeping them for that matter, so she couldn't help but wait for the possibility that something was going to go wrong. Hopefully, it won't involve the onslaught of teenage fans that Austin has developed.

As they approached the car, Austin stopped abruptly, letting out a small 'OH' before reaching into his pants pocket and pulling out a scarf. He turned around to face her, holding the scarf in both hands and tying it around her face.

"Austin!" Ally squealed as he tied it comfortably around her head. "Remember the last time we tried this? You had to cut me free from-"

"We're not doing that, I promise!" Austin said as his face turned 5 shades of red. He remembered that experience and he didn't want a repeat of that 50 shades crap ever again. "I just want to keep where we're going a surprise." And with that, Austin guided Ally to sit in the car and, after he got in, started on their way to their date night.

After what seemed like 30 minutes, Austin told her that they had arrived at their destination. He quickly jumped out of the car to help Ally out and guide her to the entrance. Once they walked through, she could already smell something delicious in the air.

"Well, wherever you took us, has some delicious smelling food."

"Oh, you have no idea." He said as he began taking off her blindfold to…

"SURPRISE!" Ally saw her own home decked out in pink streamers, 'It's a Girl' and baby bottle balloons, food trays, punch bowls, games and presents lined the room and her entire family standing in the living room of her parents' home.

"What is this?" She asked, still a little stunned from the surprise.

"Well, I knew you were feeling a little down, so I talked to your mom and she suggested throwing you a baby shower." Austin said. "After all, we get free clothes and supplies, which was something you were worried about, right?"

She gave him a small smile before bringing his face down to meet hers in a soft kiss. This was slowly followed by another slap to the chest.

"Ow! What was that for?!"

"For actually keeping a secret." She said, followed by a tiny giggle.

She turned around and waddled over to her mother and enveloped her in a hug. She saw a lot of her friends, some of her mother's friends, her Aunt Sally and her grandmothers. She turned back to Austin once she realized that baby showers were normally for the mother-to-be and her female relatives and friends.

"What will you be doing while we're here?"

"I'll be at the office with Jimmy and the other execs. We're going over the final points of the mini tour and some new merchandise ideas." He walked over to her, gave her one last hug and kiss and told her he would see her later at the apartment. Once he walked out the door, Penny ushered Ally over to talk to her guests.

The next few hours were spent talking over food, Ally telling stories of her past 8 months of pregnancy, hearing the horrific stories of childbirth, but her favorite was opening the mountain of presents. Some were cute outfits for her little girl, including jean jackets, sunglasses, crochet headbands, cute sandals, sneakers and boots, and plenty of dresses, shirts, pants and skirts. Other presents included a diaper genie, bottles and pacifiers. However, there was one present that stood out for Ally.

"So, as this is my first grandbaby, I feel like there was only one gift I could give her." Penny said as she walked into the nearby guest room. She came back with a beautiful white lace bassinet with a pink satin interior and canopy. "This was your bassinet when you were a baby and it would have been your sister's as well. So I hope you will find some use out it for your own daughter." Penny could feel her own eyes water as she looked at her own daughter.

She thought about how funny it was that her own daughter was going through what she went through as a teenager. Only she was getting a much happier ending. Her granddaughter had a wonderful set of parents and she knew that, while they were young, they could handle the responsibilities. She couldn't be happier with how Ally had grown up and how confident she had become.

Ally hugged her mother and looked at the bassinet with wonder. Sure, she had gotten a lot of impressive gifts, but none compared to the beautiful bassinet. However, that would change very soon.

"Alright, I love all these gifts, but this pregnant girl has had too much punch and the baby is currently sitting on said full bladder. So, if you will excuse me." Penny helped Ally up to walk until…

*SPLASH*

Ally and Penny felt as though they had just stepped in a puddle, but it was no average puddle.

"Uh… I think my water just broke." Ally said as she held her stomach. Penny and Trish both let out shrieks of joy as they started barking orders to the others. Trish asked for Ally's aunt to call Austin, Lester and Elliot and tell them to meet them at the hospital. Trish also took it upon herself to call Dr. Hawthorne and get her ready for Ally's arrival. Penny helped to get Ally into her car and keep her calm. However, Ally couldn't hear anything else around her.

'It's finally time,' Ally thought to herself as she buckled herself in. 'I'm about to become a mother.' She touched her stomach and let out a small smile.

'I can't wait!'

AHHHHHHHH! Baby Moon is on her way… but what is a story without a little it of twist. You'll just have to wait and find out.
