One thing to note: While weapons CAN break in my story...they're not quite as Fragile as they are in game.
Remnants of the Wild
Memories and Home
He had always been the weak one among his peers. No idea what his Semblance had been; had trouble wielding a sword and shield, and was clumsy. Yet...here he was...
Heir of the Sword that Seals the Darkness.
Heir to Link's title of Hylian Champion.
He was following in the footsteps of his dream...to live up to his family's legacy of heroes. He may not remember much, but he remembered his dream...but at what a devastating cost. Failure weighed on him like lead. He had...failed everyone.
Link...his brother...
Was dead.
Princess Zelda was dead.
The Royal Family of Hyrule was dead.
His own aura was acting up, needing to be unlocked in chunks through trials.
Hyrule was in shambles, overrun by monsters. In the back of his mind, he could hear the whispers...that Link chose the next hero incorrectly. That the sword would abandon him, that the few who he still cared for around him would be killed because of him.
He couldn't take it. He needed to prove these whispers wrong.
So here he was, exiting Kakariko Village as his friends were getting ready to sleep.
He had his armor, 340 rupees, a Spiked Boko Shield equipped, a Viscous Sickle equipped, and a Traveler's Bow equipped. At the fork of the road by the Great Fairy's fountain, he was ambushed by a Yiga Clan member, but defeated him to receive another sickle, 6 rupees, and a banana. After marking the location of a couple dormant towers and a shrine, he continued out of the field the shrine Kass pointed out.
The sun rose over Kakariko Village as a group let out loud yawns from a guest space prepared in Impa's home.
"What a great sleep. i'm sure we're ready to face the day, right Jaune?" Ruby asked, only to get silence as her answer.
"Jaune?" Pyrrha said, as she blinked the sleep out if her eyes. "HE'S GONE!"
"WHAT?!" Yang roared as her Semblance activated and her eyes turned red, "When he gets back I'll..."
"Do nothing." Impa cut in.
"But...he left us." Mipha said.
"He is going to find a location where he may find a memory. It is a personal matter I believe." impa said, looking down at the worried group, "Do not fret for him."
"But...does this mean he doesn't trust us?" Mipha asked.
"Nonsense. I believe it to be the opposite." Impa said kindly, yet with a stern tone as she forced the worried group to listen to her. "His few memories he has...are of failure. His brother died in front of him. He was nearly killed after being chosen by the Sword that Seals the Darkness. They weigh heavy on him. I can tell from personal experience...He may have left...because he was worried."
Yang's rage subsided at those words as her eyes returned to normal. "I...I have no right to criticize his choice." She admitted quietly, "When I was very little, after my mom died...I found out that she wasn't the one who gave birth to me...I...Ruby was so sad...I didn't like seeing her so sad, and I wanted her to have a mom again, so I took her to a house that my mom was rumored to stay at. Instead...we were ambushed by Grimm...if not for my uncle Qrow..." She looked up and gazed at the group. "If one of his only memories is seeing Link die...he doesn't want that to happen to any of us..."
"He needs this...to face the doubts of a defeated warrior." Impa said.
"I have my doubts." Revali said snarkily, "Why would the sword chose someone who had already failed to be the hero...I mean, it's just asinine." He then found himself with Mipha and Pyrrha's traveler's spears at his throat, Ruby's Viscious Sickle at his back and Yang's Boko bat above his head.
"You're one to talk, Mr. I-can-defeat-the Calamity-with-only-my-Divine-Beast!" Mipha scolded, "How is that any different...if I recall, you were the hardest to make leave after the Beast turned on you...and you were the most injured champion. You almost didn't make it to the Shrine of Resurrection."
"You always were the hot-headed feather brained one of the group." Urbosa said, "Unlike you, who blustered and made excuses, he is facing his inner demons like a true Voe. It is his personality that is sought after by many Gerudo Vai." That last part was said to a wink to Yang and Pyrrha.
"The little guy has the right idea." Daruk said, "Instead of sitting around and moping, he's doing something about his problems."
Jaune moved across the ruins of the once proud gateway. Sections had collapsed, and everything was covered in moss. A constant downpour of rain fell on him. Blue Bokoblins stood in his way, but were cut down quickly until his shield and sickle broke, which made him equip an emblazoned shield and spiked boko spear. Things did get a little tense when he was attacked by three Lizalfos at once, but he came out victorious with only a slight dent to his aura reserves. Plus...he did get some shock arrows and a couple Korok Seeds out of this trip already.
Soon, he was at the Dow Na'eh Shrine. After quickly solving it and getting the Spirit Orb, he continued on his trek. A swarm of Bokoblins, including a black Bokoblin, were quickly dispatched with minimal loss to his Aura. This new armor was doing it's job. The gate in front of the snowy mountain drew closer and closer. The only foe left, was one large, blue Moblin. While he lost more of his aura, the creature soon dissipated into smoke.
There...he stood...gazing at the ruins of the once mighty gate when something triggered in his mind as he gazed at the picture.
He remembered Zelda failing to find her sealing power at the Spring of Wisdom. Mipha was about to tell Zelda a possible way to find her power when the ground shook. Revali took to the air as Lightning and darkness surrounded Hyrule Castle and a loud roar shook the land. Calamity Ganon was free. Link was going to head to Hyrule Castle with the Master Sword. Regardless of what others thought, Zelda was determined to help on the battlefield.
Jaune took a deep gasp as he came out of his trance to the face of his comrades.
"Well? Don't keep us in suspense?" Daruk said.
"Here...We had gathered here when Ganon broke free. You were all going to your beasts as the Princess said that there had to be something she could do." Jaune said, as the Champions gained a downtrodden look at that memory...That was the prelude to losing the Princess, First Chosen Hero of the Age, and Kingdom.
"A truly bitter first memory to recall." Urbossa said, as JNPR and RWBY looked confused, "While you all were helping out at Rito Village and led warriors to defend Hyrule, Jaune had accompanied his brother while trying to help Zelda unlock her sealing power...while Nothing had happened, we were planing what to do next when...the Calamity announced it's return." The girls and Ren shivered at that as they looked to Jaune. The Heir to the Sword looked confused to seeing them here quickly.
"Fast Travel, remember?" Ruby gave a lopsided grin, "You activated a shrine!" Jaune nodded and gazed at the photo album, wincing at one of them.
"One of the memories is at the exterior of Hyrule Castle." Jaune said, and everyone flinched.
"Let's...put off that one until later." Ren said, "Impa wanted to talk to you after you visited one of the locations anyway."
Jaune nodded at that and tossed a sword to Weiss. It was an elegant silver Zora sword and Weiss admired it's craftsmanship as she gave a few test swings. "This...will be acceptable. Thank you." As they headed back on a trail, Jaune lifted and clenched his right fist.
"I...I will never let anyone else die for me..." He said quietly, making a promise to himself.
Not realizing everyone around him had heard it.
They stopped at the Great Fairy's fountain to have Jaune's Greaves upgraded, as well as Nora's armor before returning to Impa's house. However, a scan with Magnesis revealed an Eightfold Longblade hidden in the pond behind her house.
As they stood before Impa, she started to talk. "Now that you have seen some of the princess's memories, you must have started to remember certain things...Here, your brother wanted you to have this. I will hand it over to you now, before I forget." There, she handed him a blue tunic with a design of a sword under the collar with a leather bracer on his sword arm.
Jaune held the tunic as tears started streaming down his face. "This...This is the kind of Tunic my brother wore everyday...It was made for him when he became a Champion, to match the sashes worn by Urbosa, Revali, Mipha, and Daruk." He said. He folded the shirt and tucked it into an armor pouch reverently before collapsing in tears as Mipha, Team RWBY, and Team JNPR surrounded him to comfort him.
After that emotional breakdown, the heroes decided to spend some time in Kakariko to recover and regroup. Jaune silently went to cooking, making some Enduring Fried Wild Greens, Enduring Steamed Meat, and Tough Seafood Rice Balls. At a local shop, he sold his Amber, Opals, and a Ruby to bring his Rupee total from 412 to 922. Then, he helped the little girl named Koko make Hot Buttered Apple by giving her a piece of Goat butter, which got him a portion of the dish in return.
After spotting another Shrine, they decided to head in the direction of the two marked shrines as rain started pouring down on the group. Hyrule Castle loomed ahead, with a strange glow emanating from a distant mountain. Jaune found a Korok and a soldier's broadsword in some ruins as Ruby literally cried over the swords that had rusted over on the ground.
"Seems we have a lovable weapons expert here." He said with a lopsided grin as Ruby was prattling on about properly maintaining those weapons. Ruby froze with a blush spreading across her face at those words as Yang laughed at her reaction. Finally arriving at the Daka Tuss Shrine, an uneasy silence as three champions and two teams glared at Revali as Jaune went into the shrine. "So...Do you think this will work out?" Ruby asked.
"Yeah...we'll save the Kingdom!" Nora shouted, pumping her fist with Daruk mimicking her actions.
"Not that...I meant...four of us in love with the same guy." Ruby said with a small blush.
"Ozpin wasn't a headmaster of an academy and advisor to a king for being stupid." Pyrrha said, "He is quite wise...I'm sure he will find a way for it to work out..."
"If I may..." Mipha cut it, "The King called Ozpin his heir, making him the next King of Hyrule. This means that we will need to rebuild the Kingdom...Three of you may be from the districts of Remnant, but you carry the blood of two different Hylian races; Gerudo and Sheikah. Plus...I'm a Zora...with Jaune now being a Hylian...maybe...we could use the public excuse of our...relationship...to be...fostering unity among the races?" All talk was cut off as Jaune emerged from the shrine with another Spirit Orb.
Continuing the trip across the wetland was surprisingly easy, with Jaune's sword and shield skills ingrained into muscle memory as he cut down Lizlalfos easily. Despite not being as skilled an archer as Revali or Ren, Jaune was surprisingly skilled with one as he dispatched any electric Kesse that got too close. With two more Koroks found on the way to the second shrine, Jaune's aura was starting to take a beating as wave after wave of Lizalfos attacked the group. Regardless of who was targeted, Jaune would put himself between the creature and ally and take the blow. On the way to the second shrine, they were stopped by a Zora named Ledo who said someone named "Prince Sidon" was looking for a Hylian at Inigo Bridge. His focus was locked solely on Jaune, not seeing the lost Princess Mipha stand behind him or gasp at Sidon's name. As Ledo swam off, Mipha grabbed Jaune's arm.
"Why...Why don't we find a few more memories first." She suggested..."I don't think I'm quite ready to see my little brother...the last time I saw him he was just a baby..." Jaune's gazed softened as he nodded and swam to the second shrine he marked. He found it surrounded by thorns with rain pouting down, so he waited until the rain let up. Once it did, he burned away the thorns to gain entrance to the Sheh Rata Shrine. That shrine was finished quickly, as they then discussed places to find memories. Since Hyrule Castle was too dangerous to approach, they decided to start with the one near the Bridge of Hylia. Receiving the Spirit Orb had replenished Jaune's Aura reserves, luckily enough.
Teleporting to the Bosh Kala Shrine was an easy step one to limit the number of ambushes on them. They then followed the foothills towards Lake Hylia, finding a couple Koroks. They all froze seeing a glowing green snake-like dragon flying over Lake Hylia, except for Jaune who knelt as it gazed into his eyes. After dealing with a few Stalkoblins, Jaune stood in the spot and looked around before looking into the photo. Then he gasped as he recalled something.
He and Link were practicing sword swings under a tree as Zelda watched them...before asking what if...they found out that they realized they weren't meant to be a fighter, but were constantly told you had to...
"I...practiced here...with my brother!" Jaune said, gazing fondly at the spot. With a bowed head and a quick prayer to the gods, they set up to go North of the Bosh Kala Shrine. On the way, they saw a shooting star falling, and upon finding it's landing site they found a star fragment. Arriving back at the Riverside Stable, they found Hestu again, who had gotten lost. Jaune expanded his weapon and shield stash, as Ren expanded his weapon and bow stash, and the others upgraded weapons...except for Revali, who only upgraded his bow stash. After a few expansions, Hestu remembered how to get to the Korok forest and quickly vanished as he headed North.
Deciding to prep ahead, Jaune prepared Energizing Fried Egg and Rice, and Hearty Salt-Grilled Fish. Luckily, Pyrrha found the artist in the stable and got a lead to another location of a memory to the west of the stable. They started their journey at first light; finding a few Koroks and clearing out a Bokoblin camp. Jaune stared at the local tower intently...he had once been chased away from it by the local Guardians, and it irritated him to no end. However, that forest overlooking the lake and Fort ruins came into sight quickly, taking Jaune's focus off the tower as Yang fist-bumped Pyrrha for finding a way to take his attention off the tower. Upon arriving at the spot, Jaune took out the scroll and stared at the picture until another memory came back.
He walked with Link and Zelda as she talked about adjusting the Divine Beast for Daruk as she put her hopes on the ancient technology...and asked Link how proficient he was with the Master Sword.
"This was...the spot Zelda made the plans to adjust your Divine Beast to make it easier for you to pilot Daruk!" Jaune said as Daruk smiled proudly. "I...I remember a few more things...Yang...you had a...motercycle?"
"You got that right...my poor baby is probably a pile of rusty parts now..." She said with a frown.
"Well...now you can get a cute little pony." Jaune said with a lopsided grin as Yang smiled at him.
Ruins of buildings and towns littered the landscape of Central Hyrule. The Champions gritted their teeth and clenched their fists as they past a ruined building; which stood as a monument to their failure. At a Bokoblin Base, Yang got a Spiked Boko Bat. Once it was clear, Pyrrha, Yang, Ruby, and Mipha frowned at each other as the deactivated Central Hyrule Tower got closer and closer...
Until the Sheikah Sensor went off, indicating a nearby shrine. Saving a few Treasure Hunters on the way netted the group a Hasty Steamed Mushrooms. They soon arrived at the Kaam Ya'tak Shrine with their grand total of money at 1,006 rupees. This shrine was rewarding, with Jaune coming out and handing Ruby a Guardian Sword, Mipha a Guardian Spear, and Ren an Edge of Duality. They each held their breath and ran after him as he charged to the Central Hyrule Tower. A decayed stationary Guardian lit up and targeted him as Pyrrha rushed forward, only for everyone to stare in shock as Jaune deflected it's beam back with a swing of his shield. Jaune attempted to repeat it on the second decayed Guardian, only to mistime his first swing, the shield burning up on his arm as his aura was completely drained. It fired again after Jaune equipped a different spiked Boko shield as the ashes of the old one blew in the wind, and this time Jaune timed his swing and deflected it as he dropped to his knee and Mipha brought him into her lap and a blue glow surrounded her hands as she started healing his injuries.
"Heh...Better me than any of you." Jaune said, only for Pyrrha to grab his face and make him stare into her eyes.
"No!" She said, "You are worth more to us than you think! There are people here...who really care about you."
Soon enough, his aura flared up and formed the invisible shield around his body. "Thanks..." He said, not able to look at them, before he started to climb the tower as Revali stared at a Guardian walking along a nearby path. Within 30 minutes, the tower activated, turning blue as their maps updated with the local area. Seeing a clear path, they headed south as Jaune paraglided in that direction towards a shrine he saw.
"According to this, there are 9 memory areas left." Ruby said as Jaune landed near them. Approaching the shrine, they found another horse-shaped building...they had found the Outskirt Stable. As Jaune headed to the shrine, Pyrrha found a woman looking for the Hero of Hyrule with the Sword that Seals the Darkness, and Yang found an old man who talked about a pure white horse nearby. Yang took a note Jaune made and followed it to make Energizing Elixirs.
As Jaune was at the Rota Ooh Shrine, Yang decided to follow the lead about this pure white horse. Unbeknownst to her, Jaune had just emerged as she walked by the shrine. With his curiosity piqued, he followed her. Yang got turned around and barely avoided a rain of meteors summoned by a Fire Wizrobe, but an Arrow pierced it's head and Yang activated her Semblance to increase her attack and finish it off in a single blow. She picked up the fire rod, freezing as she saw Jaune standing with his bow in his hand. His hair fluttered in the wind with his hood and cape as Yang's heart stuttered at the sight as he gave her a goofy smile. She tossed him the Fire Rod as he tossed her a Dragonbone Moblin Club.
"I heard about a white horse in the area." Yang said, and Jaune nodded. Part of her hurt at this. He used to be so vocal and goofy, but ever since he had the weight of Hyrule put on his back, he had started getting quieter.
He was acting like...Link... Yang realized with a start. Link had given him his Aura and Semblance, both of which were representations of one's soul. Part of Link's soul had merged with Jaune's. She didn't know if Jaune realized this, but-in a way-Link's legacy lived on. Some Stalblins attacked them, but were dispatched with a single arrow to the skull each. This got Yang a Spiked Moblin Club. As they moved across the hill, they spotted a structure in Zelda's pictures...and in front of it was the white horse. Jaune handed her another Energizing Elixer as Yang gulped and added it to the few she had and moved down to catch that horse. She crouched down and let it walk by, and then hopped onto it's back. It bucked and jumped as Yang worked on soothing it. Her muscles strained as she gulped down one of the Elixir and continued her work on the horse. It continued, whinnying in protest as Yang had to gulp a second Elixer and then, as her muscles strained once again, the horse nickered and stood still.
Yang sat on the horse's back as Jaune walked over, her hair a mess as he climbed up and straightened her hair. "T-thanks." She panted out, turning the horse to the structure in the picture. Yang pet the horse as Jaune got off and looked at the picture before he let out a gasp as he gazed at the statue of a rearing horse.
Link had taught him and Zelda how to ride and care for their horse as Zelda rode a white horse with Royal Gear and stood looking over the land as they gazed at Mount Lanayru. Zelda was turning 17 tomorrow, and would go to the Spring of Wisdom there, to hopefully unlock her sealing power.
"Zelda...she was going to go to the Spring of Wisdom on Mount Lanayru. It was the day before...the Calamity attacked." Jaune said, as Yang hopped down and held him. She held him for a minute, and then took a few apples to feed the white horse.
"It's in the past...Now, I'll let you ride with me on Snowfire here." Yang said, petting the white horse as it's golden mane glowed in the rising sun. "Just don't vomit on me."
"It was once..." Jaune grumbled as he hopped up and held on behind her with his arms around her waist. Yang took Snowfire on a ride around a field for a few hours in the early morning as Jaune whispered the advice Link taught him to her. Yang enjoyed the moment of closeness, knowing that moments like this would be very limited as they continued their journey.
Plus, Jaune was being a perfect gentlemen, keeping his hands at appropriate places and helping her with Snowfire. Mipha and Ruby's words from the Daka Tuss Shrine echoed in her mind. Too soon for her liking, they had arrived at the stable. Jaune hopped down as Yang stopped Snowfire in front of the old man.
"What?! You found the white horse? Well register it and bring it here!" He said, as Jaune gave her a red rupee. Once Snowfire was registered, she brought it back to the old man, who gave them the royal saddles and bridles. Yang smiled as she had Weiss, Jaune, and Ruby pull out their horses and put on the Royal Gear on them. Then, Yang found a woman who would help them style their manes and tails. Yang got a braided mane, Weiss got a French Braid mane for Stardust, Ruby got a Floral mane for Chestnut, and Jaune got a braided mane for Abella like Yang did for Snowfire. Since all of them had matching saddles and bridles, it was like a little club.
Once the horses were all boarded, they continued onward. Teleporting back to the Hateno Village, they showed the kid the fire rod. For that, he gave them a red rupee. The next one on the kid's list would be the Moblin Club. Jaune entered the clothes shop and sold his diamond (he got in a shrine), Topaz, opal, and four Amber. They now had 1,866 rupees.
Jaune took a look at that amount and moved to the people demolishing the house in the back. Upon finally finding Bolson, he had agreed to pay 50,000 rupees...but Bolson apparently admired his determination and cut a deal for 3,000 rupees and 30 wood bundles. Jaune went back and sold his old shirt and trousers he got from the Shrine of Resurrection to help with funds. Still, he only had 1,896 rupees. He was just glad that they had stopped trying to destroy the house...which should make Pyrrha happy. While everyone else was wandering around Hateno, he went out to clear monsters to find gems and rupees. Once he found a few, he went back to sell what he had obtained so far. 1 Ruby, 1 Topaz, 3 Amber and 2 Opal. Still, he only had 2,496 rupees. As he explored, he ended up heading to a shrine on a cliff in the Faron region. Then, his scroll started ringing as a message came.
"Where are you"-Pyrrha.
"Preparing a surprise for you all. Gotta get the rupees to get it first." Jaune simply replied, closing his scroll. He carefully passed by the skull-shaped cave full of monsters, and headed right to the Muwo Jeem Shrine. After facing a Test of Strength, Jaune continued on in the Faron region as he searched for the remaining rupees or gems. He glided down to the Palmorae ruins and helped solved a mystery to another shrine. Still, Jaune was worried. The Yiga Clan had been strangely quiet after being so active. Avoiding unnecessary battles was easy; no need to get hurt and having his friends mad at him after all.
He also marked a location of another shrine he spotted, planning on heading there next as he continued his search and entered the Kah Yah Shrine. Upon exiting, he did a count and found he only had 2,524 rupees. Still about 500 short. He had over 40 bundles of wood gathered, however. By the next morning, he had arrived in Lurelin Village. Praying at the Village's Goddess Statue unlocked another chunk of his aura. Helping a woman get ingredients for dinner got him a nice purple rupee and a plate of Seafood Paella. After going to the Yah Rin shrine, Jaune got a lead about treasure hidden in the sea nearby. After unlocking another chunk of his aura with his newly obtained fourth Spirit orb, he took a raft to a triangular rock formation. Using Magnesis revealed four sunken chests with Topaz, a Sapphire, and a Thunderblade. He told the old man that told him about the treasure, who let him keep the gems and the advice that there may be other treasure hidden. Selling his accrued gems to a local shop now gave him a total of 3,434 rupees. While he had enough now, he sold some extra monster parts to help pad his funding until he had 5,063 rupees...just in case.
Teleporting back to the shrine in Hateno Village, he gave Bolson the 30 wood and 3,000 rupees to get...the house completely empty except for a weapon mount he put a Thunderblade on. Then, one of Bolson's builders, a man named Hudson, was sent to the Akkala region. Seeing the builders leave, Jaune camped by a fire and dozed off.
That night, the Blood Moon rose.
The next morning, Jaune awoke next to the builders with his friends looking between him and the house.
"Uh...Surprise?" Jaune said sheepishly.
"So...what you're saying...is that you went off alone..." Pyrrha said, "To collect money to buy the house because I asked you to?" She lifted a hand over her heart, "I'm honestly touched!"
"Plus, it will save money from staying at inns all the time." Daruk added, "With the Blood Moon last night, all the monsters we beat down are back."
Talking to Bolson, each "gear" added to the house would be 100 rupees each. He started with beds, ensuring everyone had a place to sleep. Then, he had lighting installed.
"Karson! Are we studs of studwork? YOU'RE DARN TOOTING WE ARE!" Hudson said, making Jaune blink at that statement.
The final installation of day one was the door. "Karson, awaken your inner animal! We are BEASTS OF CONSTRUCTION!" As the sun was setting, Jaune decided to have everyone try out their rooms. He took the lone bed in a corner on a balcony. So he was surprised to see Ruby, Pyrrha, Yang, and Mipha in the same bed when he woke up. With a slight shout, he fell from the bed as he leaped in surprise.
He gave a sheepish, lopsided grin to them and went to deal with Bolson. At first, he wanted a sign saying "Champion's house", but it somehow got changed to "Jaune's house". "Karson! Recall that time you dazzled me? Well, it's dazzling time again, baby!" While they were...weird, Jaune had to admit that they were skilled. The next two "installations" were to plant flowers and trees.
"With seven colors of paint, buildings bloom like the spring. Not a bad motto." Jaune said to himself as he gazed over the new "garden". As the sun set that day, Jaune decided to head to bed...this time not surprised to see the four he woke up with waiting for him...except for one thing...
Ruby had the red Shiekah eye on her forehead.
Jaune blinked and opened his mouth.
"Yeah...I've been working with Purah." Ruby said, "She tested my ancestry and it turns out that I am Sheikah from my mother's side while Yang is Gerudo on her mother's side, as is Pyrrha. This is kind of a traditional requirement."
"I'm glad you found out more about your family." Jaune said, ruffling her hair.
"I was also asked to help out...so..." Ruby said, poking her fingers.
"You have to stay in Hateno?" Jaune said with acceptance.
"I-It's not all bad!" Ruby said, "I mean I have a place to stay now thanks to you, and I'll be able to look over weapons in order to make new ones in the basement with any weapons you bring in!"
Jaune ruffled her hair again. "I know this is hard for you, staying behind while we continue on an adventure...but as you said, it isn't all bad. I mean, you could learn the secrets to weapons. I remember that a lot of people used to...make weapons? Was that it?"
"Exactly!" Ruby said, "While we lost bullet technology, I am quite interested in how they made, Fire, Ice, Shock, and Bomb arrows! I could research the technology behind that and make customized weapons that won't break!"
"I'm looking forward to it Ruby" Jaune said, giving her a hug as Yang ruffled her sister's hair.
Once outside, he had Bolson make two more weapon mounts, three shield mounts, and three bow mounts. If nothing else...he could ensure there was a place Ruby could find the weapons to research. He left behind the Thunderblade, Knight's bow, Shield of the Mind's Eye, Flameblade, Phrenic Bow, Guardian Shield +, Ancient Battle Axe +, Soldier's Bow, and Soldier's Shield. It would be a nice start to Ruby's research, two "ancient" tools, two "elemental" tools, a "zooming in" bow, sturdy bows, and basic shields.
However, Bolson was shocked that someone "bought everything" so he "threw in furniture for free". Now Jaune almost felt bad, but then he remembered how long it took to build up the funds, and how quickly Bolson dropped his savings to 663 rupees. Now, he gazed at the home in pride. There were cabinets, sinks, a fridge, stove, oven, bathtubs, toilets, dressers, closets, and a nicely decorated kitchen table. In fact, there was also a little work desk with a quill pen to take notes on on by his bed. The others admired the house as Ruby's gaze was locked onto the shields and weapons.
"Yes Ruby, those are for your studies." Jaune said, making her squeal in excitement and rush over to hug him in a flurry of rose petals.
As he looked in the house, a small smile spread across his face.
He was home...now he had to defend it!
Perhaps it was time to see why Prince Sidon needed a Hylian.
Yeah, I made the inside larger than in-game. There just seemed to be wasted space in game. I mean, there is a wooden section with a door in the back you can't enter! Also, did I make the construction take longer? You bet! In real life, building something like a bed isn't done in 5-10 minutes. That was made to make the construction take a more appropriate amount of time.
Current stats for Jaune Arc:
