Remnants of the Wild
Memories, Gerudo, and Yiga
That morning, Jaune sold some gems and went shopping for milk, arrows, Endura Shrooms, and Hylian Rice. When he was finished, he still had 1,384 rupees. He then went up to the Hateno Ancient Tech Lab where Ruby helped out and talked to Symin, learning about the ability to sense objects other than shrines, bringing him three sunshrooms he sensed with it. He then changed his sensor back to shrines.
After recovering Pyrrha and Yang from his home, he teleported to Central Hyrule Tower and moved to an ancient ceremonial stand while dodging Guardians. In the center, he gazed at the picture and recalled something.
Link had been knighted as Hylian Champion here by Princess Zelda, and Teams RWBY and Team JNPR had been knighted as Knights of Hyrule by the Princess.
Then, they teleported to the Riverside Stable just as two mobile Guardians spotted them. Then, they headed to the Bottomless Swamp. At a forest north of the black ooze infested swamp, Jaune recalled something.
Zelda crying into Link's shoulder, both their clothes muddy, with Jaune standing there. The Guardians and Divine Beasts being turned against them by Ganon...The champions, RWBY, and (J)NPR were taken to the Shrine of Resurrection. Zelda lamenting being a failure at unlocking her sealing power and blaming herself.
Jaune looked down and clenched his fists as a couple tears went down his face at that memory. "We failed..." He said, as Pyrrha and Yang hugged him close before he wiped away his tears. As they moved to a nearby shrine, a red glow started rising.
"The blood moon..." Yang growled out. Just as they arrived at the Kaya Wan Shrine, the blood moon finished rising, and swirls of black and red smoke drifted across Hyrule, reviving and reforming monsters. Yet, as smoke drifted to Vah Ruta, a blue force-field deflected it back to Hyrule Castle. Jaune clenched his fists and went into the shrine as Pyrrha and Yang talked, eyeing a nearby stable. Upon Jaune leaving the Shrine, they arrived at the Wetland Stable, where they saw a delusional man who believed he had "the ultimate weapon" with his "Master Torch". They then traveled North to an unmarked section on their maps, where Jaune had put a pin where the Tower was. They came under attack by a bear, but ended up with Yang killing it, where Jaune collected some honey and meat. After passing the Woodland Stable, they arrived at the Mirro Shaz Shrine where Jaune went into. Once he emerged with another Spirit Orb, they moved to the stable and talked to an old man named Ashe, who told him about a Korok-infested forest known as the Lost woods within the Great Hyrule Forest. They took a glance at each other, now knowing where to find Hestu. He talked about the wind blowing different ways, which Jaune kept in his mind. The wind was the key to finding Hestu.
Putting two Octo Balloons from Octoroks on a barrel got them a star fragment from a little girl who had a dream to travel to a lost civilization in the sky. They then moved to the tower, going into a boggy area called "Military Training Area", which was now filled with Monsters. Jaune killed a fire Wizrobe with a single ice arrow before using Cryosis to create an ice platform in the bog, gulping down his Enduring Elixir before he started to climb as Pyrrha and Yang fought off Bokoblins. An Octorok bombarded his amplified Aura, which annoyed Jaune as he climbed. Finally reaching the top, he activated the Woodland Tower and downloaded a map of the area to everyone's scrolls. Jaune used his Paraglider to land in a bog-surrounded structure where he found a Sapphire. They then continued left from the Military Training Camp, looking for a hill overlooking Hyrule Castle with a couple trees. The trio paused for a moment south-east of Elma Knolls to stare at a rainbow that formed at 7:40 am that day. Continuing their journey, Jaune pinned the location of another Tower on the map. He also marked a Tower in the south-westernmost area of the map, where Urbosa had pointed out where her Divine Beast was located. Soon after heading to an unmarked area south-east of Salari Hill Jaune hid behind a tree as he changed out of his armor into his Hylian tunic when it started thundering...and then realized this tree was the one in a photograph. He scanned the area, glanced at the picture, and looked up, recalling another memory.
Jaune was with Link and Zelda as she photographed flowers, talking about their properties in Elixirs, and then fondly looked at a flower called the Silent Princess...and then caught a Hot-Footed Frog, trying to get Link to eat it to see it's effects.
Jaune laughed a bit as he recalled the memory. "Princess Zelda had heard about the Hot-Footed Frog's effect in an Elixir and tried to get my brother to eat a live one to study it's effect." This got both of the girls with him to laugh. "Why don't we go back to Hateno to start our journey?"
With both of them agreeing, they teleported back and went to Jaune's home and went to sleep until the next morning. Once everyone who was going was assembled, they started their trek to the south-west from Hateno Village. First, they entered the region where Jaune had found Lurelin Village. Soon, they found Kass the Rito by a rock-like mound. There he performed a song for them about this area.
"~When a lost hero calls down lightning from the sky/The monk responds from a giant mound on high". All of their eyes went to the thunderous sky and to Jaune. Jaune, in his Hylian Tunic, placed his Zora Sword on the mound and hopped down. There, they watched as a stream of sparks flew upwards from the sword before lightning struck it and shattered the rock; the immense heat from the lightning also melted the sword.
Jaune went inside as Kass talked with Revali. Yang fussed with her static charged hair. In the shrine, Jaune got the rubber tights, and was told that the way to make rubber had been lost after the Great Calamity by the monk before being given the Spirit Orb. With that, they continued until they reached the region's Tower, with Daruk making quick work of the lightning Wizrobe with Ren using a fire arrow to scare off a flock of kesse. Jaune slowly climbed the Faron Tower, gulping down an Energizing Seafood Skewer partway up as he felt his muscles protest the long climb. He was exhausted by the time he reached the top, taking a moment to catch his breath before activating it, downloading a map of the Faron Region to their scrolls. In the distance, Farosh flew over the region's waterfalls, eyeing the young Arc. They now had a map of 7 of Hyrule's regions, with 7 left to find.
Revali scolded Jaune after he came down, saying that they should just go to the Rota Ooh Shrine. He was cut off when Jaune pressed the teleportation button, and when they emerged Yang slapped the Rito Champion on the back of the head. Jaune moved behind the shrine for some privacy as he changed into his armor. They ran down the pathway past Moblins to the Digdogg Suspension Bridge. Jaune was recalling more and more of his past memories as he moved onward, with five picture locations left undiscovered. Defeating some Bokoblins riding horses after sneaking past a Hinox, the group followed the road along the canyon. They stopped at the Jee Noh Shrine, where Jaune got his fourth Spirit Orb. With damage taken, he only had a single chunk of extended Aura left from the Aura boosting food he ate before facing Watergrimm Ganon. Weiss was sweating as the temperature reached 95 degrees F as they climbed the cliff to the region's Tower. The temperature dropped to the low 40s as they reached the tower at 8 pm.
After grossing out Weiss by going through a bog on metal crates, Jaune climbed to the top and cleaned out his armor before putting it back on and activating the Wasteland Tower, downloading the area map to everyone's scrolls. He then realized that his boosted Aura had now vanished. He hadn't even noticed when it happened! Once that was done, they all paraglided (or flew in Revali's case) down to the pathway and continued onward. They dodged falling boulders, with Daruk surrounding himself in a red, glowing Aura shaped like a boulder to smash the rocks against the shield.
Stopping at a cooking pot early next morning, Jaune resupplied the group's meals by making Steamed Meat, Enduring Meaty Rice Balls, Enduring Elixir, Hearty Fried Wild Greens, Energizing Seafood Rice Balls, and Hearty Salt-Grilled Greens. Continuing onward, Pyrrha used her Semblance to move a metal boulder to knock away a blockade of boulders. Running through the pathway, they came across the traveling merchant, Beedle.
"Hey! You're a great customer, and since today is Customer Appreciation Day, I want you to have this!" With that, Beedle handed Jaune an Ancient Arrow. "This even works on those Guardian things. It's amazing! I hear it works best if you hit the Guardian in the eye with it. This old guy named Robbie gave it to me. To find him, go waaay north past Zora's Domain, all the way to Akala Ancient Tech Lab. Old Robbie makes a bunch of other weird weapons and clothes and stuff. I guess he's what you'd call a mad scientist, which is kind of cool...but also terrifying. If you want strong weapons and stuff, you should go see him. Anyway, back to business..."
Jaune sold a Topaz, Sapphrie, Amber, and three Opals to him to bring his funds to 2,235 rupees. Afterwards, Jaune went to the Kay Noh Shrine as the others went to the local stable. He now had 5 Spirit Orbs, more than enough to upgrade his Aura, but he didn't want to backtrack. He stopped to talk with the traveling painter Pikango and showed him one of the pictures. From him, he learned the place in the picture, Kara Kara Bazaar was actually an oasis just ahead in the desert. With a nod of acceptance from the group, at 1:55pm, they headed into the desert towards the oasis after Jaune made Chilly Elixir.
On the way, the came across a Gerudo woman.
"Sav'aaq." She greeted, "If you're searching for Calisa, legendary treasure hunter, then your search is over. You're looking at her! I've been in the game for over 20 years. When I set my sights on a treasure, you can be sure that I'll claim it." Jaune, starting to cook in his armor, took off his hood and put on Link's tunic with the Hylian trousers behind the group. The group (besides Urbosa and Daruk) was having their aura drained from the immense heat hurting them. Jaune took a sip of the Chilly Elixir and shared it with the others. Nearing the Bazaar, a loud metallic cry echoed as a gigantic stone and mechanical camel stomped through the desert brewing a sandstorm around with lightning striking around it.
"Sav'aaq" A local Gerudo guard woman wielding a Gerudo Spear greeted, "This is Kara Kara Bazaar. Gerudo Town is still a fair distance southwest of here. If you're headed there, you should consider resting a bit. Though some of you ARE a voe...Even if you make it to town, you won't be able to get in...All the same, the Divine Beast is kicking up a storm right now, so I don't recommend you going to Gerudo Town."
"Gerudo Town?" Jaune asked.
"Gerudo Town is to the southwest. It's the biggest village in the area! It's famous for trade and also for staying active and vibrant all night long. However, there s a law forbidding voe-males-from entering the city." She said, and Jaune thanked her for her information. "Hah. I don't need any thanks. This is my job after all. You know, the desert is hot during the day and cold at night. It'll take the energy out of you in no time. If you plan to head out into the desert, make sure you're prepared."
Then Jaune moved to the entryway to the Bazaar, and looked around before pulling up the picture. Then, a memory came to his mind.
Zelda was running from a member of the Yiga Clan, only to be cut off by two others. Jaune ran after them as one raised his sickle to strike. A loud cry echoed as the one who attacked Zelda dropped dead. Zelda stared at the back of her savior-Link-as he stared down the other members of the Yiga Clan with his Master Sword drawn.
"Link saved Zelda from the Yiga..." He said. Nora was whispering something to Ren, who nodded at her.
"Actually, It might be a good idea if Daruk, Revali, Nora, and I check in with Impa. She might want to hear of our progress." Ren said. With a nod of acceptance from the others, the four teleported in a stream of blue light. They needed to visit Gerudo Town about the Divine Beast, so they continued on into the desert. As the sun was setting, they each too turns ducking behind a rock and putting on their warm doublet. They were then stopped by a traveling Gerudo merchant.
"Hmmmmm... You look like everyday travelers, but how can I be sure?" She said, "Don't tell anyone...but I'm no merchant. I'm a Gerudo Town soldier in disguise. Ever heard of the Yiga Clan? They're a group of thieving bandits who have caused all sorts of trouble back in town. I got a tip that some of them go incognito as travelers to ambush the unwary. That's why I'm dressed as a simple merchant. My mission is to blend in and stay on guard in case they strike. They were bold enough to strike at Gerudo Town, so I wouldn't be shocked if they struck at travelers, too..."
"They attacked us too...Here's a tip, they usually stay in one spot while in disguise and lure people in by making them curious." Jaune said, and the soldier thanked him for that information. Jaune then ducked into the Daqo Chisay Shrine just outside of Gerudo Town as Yang, Urbosa, Pyrrha, and Weiss waited by the shrine. After he emerged with the Spirit Orb, they went to talk with the gate guards. Unfortunately, despite having important business, Jaune was not let in. While Weiss and Urbosa went inside, Yang and Pyrrha refused to in protest.
That's when they found a tip. A male merchant had heard rumor of a man that slipped into Gerudo Town, and that he often was at Kara Kara Bazaar. It was 1:10 am when they arrived at Kara Kara Bazaar. At the top of the hotel, they saw what looked like a woman in traditional Gerudo garb.
"Oh my. What a lovely young lad you are. Do you need something from me?" The person asked.
"I heard about a man who snuck into Gerudo Town." Jaune said.
"Oh, I don't know anything about him...Sorry I couldn't be more help." The person responded.
Jaune studied her face intently.
"Heehee...you're making my cheeks warm looking at me like that." The person responded. Jaune turned and winked at Yang and Pyrrha.
"You're very beautiful." Jaune said.
"Oh, such a nice thing to say! And I'm sure you'd agree that these clothes only help my looks, right?" She said, "Now that I think about it, this style would look quite fetching on you... I'd have to charge you, of course, but I bet people would see you completely differently if you wore them! What do you think? Do you want to buy them for...600 rupees?"
"I'll take them." Jaune said, handing the money over.
"Heehee...I have the perfect outfit for you! Go ahead and change into it right now. Don't worry. I'll look away." Jaune changed into a turquoise version of the outfit with gray pants. Unbeknownst to him, Yang and Pyrrha had spied on him as he changed.
"EEEEEEEE!" The woman squealed, "You look adorable! Ahhh heeheeehee...Just as I thought! You make quite a good-lookin' gal. That's a traditional Gerudo outfit. It's such a striking look around here, I doubt anyone would even suspect that you're a man! On top of that, it breathes so well that it's sure to help you deal with the desert heat...At least a little! I'm so glad I was able to help you out. If you're free to grab something to eat sometime, keep me in mind..."
With that, a gust of wind blew, pushing the woman's veil aside and revealing a man's face with some stubble.
"Heh...Make sure you watch out for the wind." He said, making Jaune slap his forehead while shaking his head. Yang and Pyrrha also bought outfits, only in the same purple color the man had. They tested the outfit on the guard, who mistook Jaune for a girl in traditional garb from Gerudo Town. Behind the hotel, Pyrrha and Yang gazed at Jaune.
"So...you're rather calm about wearing that." Pyrrha said.
"I'm not sure why." Jaune honestly replied, "I feel...desensitized about this...maybe something I don't remember involving my seven sisters?" Jaune took a Spiked Moblin Spear out and Pyrrha took out her Ceremonial Trident and started teaching him more about pole-arm combat. At 5:10 am, they journeyed back into the desert to head to Gerudo Town. On the way, another Gerudo confused Jaune for a woman. At 7:10 am, they went through the gateway to Gerudo Town without a problem. Once inside, he gave a Gerudo jeweler some flint who needed them for making jewelry. In return, he got a Sapphire Circlet.. In a side ally, they found a Gerudo Scimitar, which Jaune gave to Yang. In a back ally, they found a Goddess Statue with an old Gerudo woman sitting next to it.
"Sav'o...what's a voe doing here..." Jaune reeled back in shock at her statement. "Surprised? You might be able to fool all the other vai around here, but you won't fool me so easily. Don't worry, though. It doesn't matter much to me what you do. But...since you came all the way back here, maybe you'd like to stay a bit and chat?"
"The Goddess Statue?" Jaune asked.
"Oh, the Goddess Statue has been here since long before I was even born. No one here really believes in that stuff anymore, though, so they tend to avoid stopping here. Kind of like they avoid me...But someone has to keep the Goddess Statue company, so here I am..." Continuing to chat with her, they found out that she had wasted her life away in a vain search for the legendary Lover's Pond. Afterwards, Jaune prayed at the Goddess Statue and used four Spirit Orbs to unlock another chunk of his Aura. After that, they were confronted by Weiss and Urbosa.
"It was the only way Jaune can get into town." Yang said before Weiss could say anything.
"She's right." Urbosa said, "Even if the Voe needs to talk to the chief for important matters, even the safety of Gerudo Town, the guards will never let a voe enter." They continued to the other ally and heard form a Gerudo Archeologist about a possible shrine location. There they heard a rumor about a secret shop. Going to a passageway, Jaune managed to correctly guess the password, well, with Urbosa's help. This was a building, that sold clothing for voes, despite it being illegal to sell said clothing in town, and the shopkeeper knew Jaune was a voe, but didn't care. Jaune bought a Desert Voe Spaulder, Desert Voe Trousers, and Desert Voe Headband. This outfit was a male version of the traditional Gerudo outfit, and offered the same heat-resistant effect. However, this outfit couldn't be worn in Gerudo Town.
While they didn't have the money, they learned of the Radiant outfit, that glowed like a skeleton. Each part was 800 rupees, and required three luminous stones.
Inside the chief's room, they saw a young girl named Riju who was the chief.
"Yet another traveler. How did you all get here...oh...seems you all have objects that are rather interesting." She said.
They stepped forward before Riju's guard slammed the tip of her Gerudo Claymore into the floor. "You stand before Lady Riju, chief of the Gerudo! Declare your business, but come no closer!" She barked out.
"Hold on, Buliara...These ones appear to be more than a common traveler...and one of them...Welcome back Lady Urbosa!" Riju said. before turning to Jaune. "You there-what is your name?"
"Jaune." He said.
"Jaune...And what is it you've come all the way here with Lady Urbosa to tell me, Jaune?" Riju asked.
"I can calm Naboris." Jaune said.
"You think you have what it takes to subdue something so powerful as a Divine Beast?" Buliara asked, "The only ones who could ever control them were like Lady Urbosa-Champions."
"Hmm.." Riju said, "Buliara, a memory just jumped into my head-something my mother spoke of. When the Calamity took the life of the swordsman and princess, the Sword that Seals the Darkness chose a second wielder, who was then put into a deep sleep when on the verge of death. The second swordsman, lie our new friend here...was named Jaune...though it always seemed more legend then fact."
"But, Lady Riju Do those same stories not also say that he carried a legendary sword? I see no such weapon in this person's care." Buliara said.
"They do indeed." Riju said, "The Advisor to the King supposedly hid it away in the middle of a deep forest. What of the device on these traveler's hips. They appear to be precious relics of the Sheikah. I can't imagine they would give something so valuable to simple drifters-can you?"
"...I don't remember hearing of a Hylain vai among the Champions. Wait a moment...you're a voe!" Buliara growled.
Riju giggled "A voe within our walls is a great crime. But a voe who is a champion...Well, we'd never mistreat a friend of Lady Urbosa. And if you're here to help us with Naboris, then we are allies. You saw it on your way to town. Divine Beast Vah Naboris, cloaked in a massive sandstorm, hurling lightning at any who dare approach. We have to do something to stop it, but we have yet to find any way to appease the Divine Beast on our own. If you truly are a Champion, perhaps you will be able to enter Naboris and calm its anger."
"Lady Riju" Buliara protested, "I don't see how you can trust a complete stranger with something as important as this task. Perhaps if this person were first to prove his worth by recovering your stolen Thunder Helm..."
"Ah, yes...An interesting suggestion." Riju said.
"The Thunder Helm was stolen?" Urbosa asked, "It is the only thing in all of Hyrule that can withstand the lightning from Naboris."
"Indeed." Riju said, "Our soldiers can tell you all you need to know about the thieves who stole Lady Riju's heirloom."
"Head through the arch to your right. It will lead you to to barracks. Then, seek out Captain Teake, and ask for a full report. However, only Jaune can go on this task, as he is a voe within the walls of Gerudo Town." Buliara said.
"Without the Thunder Helm, we cannot get close to Naboris." Riju said, "Heh, you know...I take heart in having such a rare visitor as yourself." Jaune went to the right while Pyrrha went out the left archway and stared at the sky after finding a Gerudo Spear. At the barracks, Jaune found out that a soldier named Barta went missing two days ago looking for the hideout of the thieves. Talking to Teake Jaune learned the identity of the thieves...
The Yiga Clan.
He also learned that their hideout is in Karusa Valley, which was northwest of town.
Getting the information he needed, he rented a Sand Seal for 20 rupees, leaving only 19 rupees left for him. He stood on his Soldier's Shield, strapped to the seal, and headed out to the desert. Once at the entry to Karusa Valley, he switched back into his armor and warm doublet as the temperature dropped. He was forced to leave the sand seal behind as there was a small cliff it couldn't climb over.
It was strange, going off on his own. Sure, he did so when he was gathering rupees to buy the house in Hateno Village, but he wasn't doing anything like infiltrating an enemy base...like he was about to do. On his travel, he was ambushed by a Yiga Clan archer. Though he took a little damage to his Aura, he got a Duplex bow, 66 rupees, and a mighty banana after defeating him.
This meant he was on the right track.
Another ambush by Stalblins and a Yiga archer severely drained over half his aura, he ate the hot buttered apple, and a couple Courser Bee Honey to replenish it. Then, in front of the entrance, he was ambushed by three archers. From defeating them, he now had a total of 178 rupees. In a cave was a circular platform with candles around it and multiple banners with the Yiga Clan logo. Jaune lit the tip of an arrow on fire with a candle, took a breath, and took a random shot, randomly lighting the correct banner on fire which revealed a staircase. He was now in the Yiga Clan hideout.
In a cell, he saw Barta, who told him that he had to be stealthy and avoid detection, possibly distract them with something...but all she ever saw them do is patrol and eat bananas. He changed into his Sheikah stealth outfit and took a deep breath. A gigantic Yiga Clan soldier with a large katana patrolled the room. Jaune threw a banana and silently crept a distance behind the soldier. Then, he sneaked past as the guard hopped over to the banana. He used a couple bananas to distract the guard at a doorway, once to get a sapphire, then to sneak through the door. Going up a ladder, he found 18 bananas and a topaz. He then leaped onto a ledge with a soldier patrolling. Throwing a banana to distract the first, he thew a rock to confuse the second as he slipped past him the other direction as the soldier investigated, climbing up a ladder. Jaune found a silver rupee, and then continued on the rafters above the room. At the end, he tossed a banana down to distract the guard in front of the other door, and jumped down, moving through the doorway to a "dead end" room with targets used for archery practice. He changed into his armor, and took a look around the room.
There were 10 arrows, a banana, a ruby, and a topaz. Then, as he used Magnesis to pull up the chests with the ruby and topaz, he noticed the Magnesis resonating with a wall. He used Magnesis and pulled the wall open. He then went into an open arena with a gigantic pit in the middle.
"Hey!" A deep voice called from behind Jaune, as a Yiga Clan member wearing a belt with his hair tied straight up appeared behind him. He had a portly belly and what looked like an elaborate decorative neck guard. "Who the heck are you? And what are you doing in my napping spot?! Wait a moment." He said, wiping the eye on his mask, "That thing on your hip...Is that...Could it be a Sheikah Scroll? If it's a Sheikah Scroll...Then that means...Yeah, IT'S YOU! You're that Jaune guy I've been looking for! What luck! My scouts are out in the field looking high and low, but you just wander into my hideout! Oh, excuse me. I haven't introduced myself yet." He said while crossing his arms.
"I am the leader of the Yiga Clan. The strong. The burly. The one and only! MASTER KOHGA! Now, prepare yourself!" He said, posing.
Kohga formed a stone orb above him, but Jaune fired an arrow, which made Kohga lose focus and have it drop on him. He was then embedded head first in the sand as Jaune started slashing through his Aura. This happened two more times before Kohga floated above the pit, stomping his foot, and forming two orbs circling around him. Jaune hit him with an arrow, and watched as the orbs dropped into the pit, giving Jaune an idea. He hit Kohga so the orb landed on him, sending him flying into the arena and embedding him head-first into the sand which allowed Jaune to strike at his Aura. This happened twice before Kohga formed a metal spike orb, which Jaune grabbed with the Magnesis Rune and slammed it into Kohga's head. Kohga's own attacks did more damage to his aura than Jaune's did. He did this twice before Kohga's Aura failed and he landed on the edge of the pit, grabbing an injured left arm.
"Who would've though...I'd be done in like this...And by this guy, of all people!" He gasped out, "You think I'm going to let this stand?! Ahem...I almost lost my temper there...Argh, what a pain...I can't go out this way. What to do, what to do..." Then he started laughing. "I need to bust out my serious moves...A secret technique taught by my father's mother's father! It will...destroy you! This is the end!" With that, he formed a gigantic spike metal orb in front of him. "Ahahahaha-uh...Huh. Maybe it's just a tad too big. Are you still over there? Well, no matter Pretty soon you'll be gone! And not just from my line of sight! Only the leader of the Yiga clan, can use this technique!" He started to say, then ran as the orb rolled at him, falling into the pit with the orb following him.
"Coward! I shall be remembered! The Yiga Clan will track you to the ends of Hyruuuuuule!" With that last statement, a chest appeared after there was the sound of a loud boom as the orb fell on him. Within the chest that appeared was the missing Thunder Helm. Switching back to his Gerudo disguise, he re-entered the Yiga Clan Hideout, to see it empty. He then ransacked the formerly patrolled room for bananas, a topaz, an amber, an opal, and a ruby. Going back to the entrance, he saw the cage open and Barta gone as well. After leaving the hideout, Jaune saw a pedestal. "If you seek power untold, offer a shining blue stone." Jaune red on the tablet in front of it. He bombed a luminous stone, and on luckily landed on the pedestal, making the shrine rise from the ground. After completing it, he had three Spirit Orbs. Teleporting to the shrine outside Gerudo town, Jaune held his head high, knowing he succeeded where others had failed.
He was living up to his title of "hero".
In town, he sold the amber, opal, four topaz, two rubies, and sapphire, bringing his funds to 1,868 rupees. He had enough for two pieces of the radiant armor. He went into the Gerudo Secret Club and bought the Radiant Shirt and Radiant Tights. He then sold monster parts until he had enough to buy the Radiant Mask with 107 rupees left over. Exiting the shop, he bumped into Pyrrha and Yang, who gave him a tight hug after seeing him unharmed.
"You made it back!" Yang said.
"And with the Thunder Helm!" Jaune said with a lopsided grin, "By the way, why aren't we giving it to Urbosa?"
"She said that it traditionally belongs to the current chief, which is Lady Riju." Pyrrha said, "We've been getting some lessons in Gerudo combat and traditions."
"That's great!" Jaune said, "I'm happy you're learning more about your heritage."
"Did you know that males are rarely born to the Gerudo, so they seek husbands?" Yang asked, and Jaune shook his head because he didn't know that. Pyrrha nodded to Yang, and they each grabbed an arm, "Pyrrha and I chose the same husband."
"Who's the lucky guy?" Jaune asked, making the girls roll their eyes.
"You." Pyrrha said, as Jaune's eyes widened and he blushed, "Even if we have to share you with Ruby and Mipha."
"Why?" He asked, as he looked at the two vai of Gerudo descent.
"Because...you're...you. You already have the makings of a good husband, and care for us. You don't find our faults as that-faults. It was only natural, Hero." Yang said, nudging him, "Now let's return the Thunder Helm." Entering the chief's chambers, they were told Urbosa and Riju were on the second floor, in her sleeping quarters, but they were allowed in...though were also warned not to try anything.
Riju was standing on the balcony overlooking town with Urbosa when they approached.
"I've been waiting for you..." Riju said, "Oh, you needn't say a word. As the chief of the Gerudo, I can sense the power of the heirloom flowing from you. I know you've succeeded! I am, as you have no doubt noticed, still but a child. The people look on me with nothing but warmth in their eyes, but even this brings me some pain, I must admit...I've tried so hard to be worthy of their love, to be a worth chief...and to prove to myself that I was worthy, too. When my family heirloom was stolen, I felt as though a shadow had fallen over me..."
"I understand that feeling all too well." Jaune said.
"Yes, your arrival in the midst of all this must be fate. Now, please give me the helm." Riju said, and Jaune handed it over. Riju put it on, with only her lower face poking out. "Um. How do I look?" She asked. This triggered a memory in Jaune's mind.
Jaune was patrolling with Link on Vah Naboris while Zelda was sleeping on Urbosa's shoulder. Urbosa talked with Link about the Princesses frustrations and told them how much of an honor it was to guard the Princess. With a snap of Urbosa's fingers, lightning struck nearby, waking up Zelda as the Thunder Helm sat nearby.
"What's wrong? You're just staring..." Riju asked, "Anyway, what matters now is...How...How is it?! Do I look all right?!"
"It looks good!" Jaune said.
"I see..." Riju said shyly, as the Thunder Helm slipped down and she readjusted it, "The threat Divine Beast Vah Naboris poses has only grown since we began searching for the heirloom. I believe that Gerudo Town itself may be in danger before too long...As chief, and as a Gerudo, I must find some way to stop that thing before it threatens my people. Will you help me?"
"Of course!" Jaune said, as Urbosa nodded her acceptance.
"Hehehe, who would have thought that, just before such a momentous battle...hearing such a simple, confident pledge of support from you would be what puts me at ease? I'll head out now. Let's meet up at the lookout post south of town." Riju said, "There's only one way to get close to Naboris, and that's with the help of a sand seal. The lookout post isn't too far from town, but you should take a sand seal there. You can get some practice in that way. I'll be there waiting for you with my favorite sand seal, Patricia. Still...it really is a little big..." She muttered, readjusting the Thunder Helm as it slid down again, making Urbosa laugh.
"There won't be much we can do, as Buliara stated that she feels we need more training before we can even think of getting close to the Divine Beast." Yang said, mumbling her frustration, "Good luck...and stay safe, alright?"
It was time to take back control of Divine Beast Vah Naboris.
