Epilogue

Oh God. I should have said yes.
It wasn't as terrifying as she thought it would be.
Perhaps that was because she had put a gun to her chin and pulled the trigger once before.
Perhaps it was because she welcomed the darkness.
Perhaps it was because it didn't hurt.
She didn't really know.
Sirens drew nearer and she clutched at the wound on her neck. Her head lolled and her eyes drooped.
She thought there would be more blood than this.
Her thoughts slowed and she smiled. Words from a song filtered into her consciousness.
Don't be afraid. Close your eyes. Lay it all down. Don't you cry. Can't you see I'm going, where I can see the sun rise?
She heard footsteps.
She opened her eyes. She saw hollow, lifeless eyes staring back at her.
Tears rolled down her cheeks. She closed her eyes.
I've been talking to my angel, and he said that it's alright.
She swallowed and tasted the copper of her own blood.
Darkness danced across her eyelids.
She felt arms around her.
She pictured auburn hair, piercing green eyes and that silly, goofy smile.
She remembered every little thing.
When darkness came, her last thought was quite simply, everything.
Gabby.
A/N: So I'm going to pretend I didn't just do that.
As you know there's a sequel in the works. I also want to write one shots in this universe for fun, the what if's so to speak. I am taking suggestions from readers if they want to go back to any point in time from chapter one through epilogue, to ask me "what if... 'insert thing that didn't happen, did happen'?" Though be warned, I might literally use a randomiser to see what kind of story you end up with, from soap, tragedy, drama, fluff, comedy etc. I guess you can make a request to see a different ship there too for a minute if you wanted. It's something I would look to do as a circuit breaker from the intensity of whats planned for the sequel. Cannot promise I will do all the ideas, but I will try! I basically just want to live in this universe, which for easier reference in the future as more works come along is going to be the Saints & Sinners universe (a play on Missy's softball team).
Last but not least, I thank you all from the bottom of my heart. Without you I may not have been able to revive a seven year old story and bring it to completion. Oh and pretty please tell me how this epilogue made you feel?
