So so sorry it took me this long to update, working on the next chapter already and that one is going to be a doozy! Hope you all enjoy this chapter.
Chapter 6
She ended up spending the night at Leah's after letting Charlie know. She woke up in the morning next to a sweaty and hot feeling Leah. Once Sue found out she was nearly kicked out. So she went over to Jake's and hung out with him in his garage while he worked on the truck, she never got sick anyway so she wasn't worried about it. Jake was making good progress on the truck the old engine was out and he was installing the new engine mounts. When she was about to go home Billy was outside on the porch.
"Bella, are you staying for dinner?" Billy asked.
"Gotta feed Charlie, maybe next time?" she replied
"I'll call him and invite him over." Billy replied and wheeled himself inside.
"Do you need any help?" Bella asked as she followed him inside.
"No I got it, but thank you. Thank you for the parts too."
"You're welcome but I didn't do it for you, I want Jake to be happy." Bella replied.
"I want him to be happy too. You and Leah left a little early yesterday at the bonfire so you didn't hear everything. Bella, it's better you keep your distance from the Cullens." Billy said.
"I'll keep that in mind." Bella replied and left the house.
She made a quick trip to the nearby Ateara family general store to pick up a couple of sodas and made her way back to the Black's garage. She handed Jake a soda and went back to reading her book.
"Are you sure they sent everything you need?" She asked Jake when he came back out from under the truck.
"Well for now I'm sure they did, but from what I've read and heard you often don't know what's missing until you need it. I still don't know how to thank you dude." Jake replied sheepishly.
"You'll never have to." She replied.
She finally received a text from Leah, who let Bella know she still wasn't feeling all that well. Charlie arrived soon and was given a temporary reprieve from his diet, she went home together with Charlie, obeying the traffic laws religiously, nothing slows down traffic like a cop after all. She hung out with Jake again on Sunday after trying to visit Leah, Sue absolutely wouldn't allow it. At some point she did make Jake go do his homework he had been neglecting. Soon it was Monday again, she had been looking forward to school knowing that seeing Rosalie would fill the emptiness in her. Especially during lunch she eagerly stared at Rosalie, when their eyes crossed it felt different, somehow Rosalie came across as less hostile than usual. Of course there still was biology after lunch, that part she dreaded. Edward was already sitting in his spot at the lab table when she entered the classroom. She sat down and hoped for the best.
"Bella, I would like to apologize for my behavior, I hope you can forgive me and perhaps find it in your heart to give me a chance in the future." Edward stated, but it didn't feel right to her.
"Edward I appreciate it but I want to be clear that I have no interest in going on a date with you and I don't want you to be friend zoned either, so let's just stick to being lab partners. Okay?" She replied.
She could visibly see Edwards eyes darken, it was clear from his entire demeanor it wasn't the answer he had wanted. She was glad that the teacher came into the class and got started right away. Bella did wonder if perhaps it wouldn't be better to try and change her schedule so she could avoid Edward altogether. Finally the class was over and this time it was her making a beeline for the door given how tense the class had been. She made her way over to Spanish, it turned out to be her lucky day, Mrs. Goff paired everyone up for the day's assignment and she ended up being paired with Rosalie. There still wasn't room for any pleasantries but any conversation with the icy blonde was better than nothing. That night she had another dream of sorts, in it Edward killed her while Rosalie and some members of her family tried to stop him. If anything it served as a reminder to stay away from him.
The week progressed as usual, the tension with Edward was thick and there wasn't much progress with Rosalie, though Rosalie did glare a lot less than she did before. Leah texted sporadically, but didn't really answer when Bella asked if she could visit, it was adding to the hurt of still kind of being ignored by Rosalie. There were a few more boys that didn't understand the concept of girl's choice, Bella again politely turned them down saying she would be in Seattle that day. She did agree to go dress shopping with Angela, Jess and Lauren. It was originally planned on Thursday but Mike ended up asking out Jess so they changed it to Friday after school. Which worked out well since it meant she didn't have to cancel volunteering on Thursday and Charlie was working late on Friday so she could bring him dinner at the station afterwards. She went to pick up Angela since they would be joining Jess and Lauren a little later. She was glad to get a break from her usual daily life and hopefully have a good distraction.
"So sorry, my mom needed me to watch the twins till she got home." Angela said as she got in the Porsche.
"No problem I was able to get started on my homework. We won't be that much later though, just close your eyes if you're afraid." Bella said as she helped the girl put on the racing harness.
"What do you have against regular seatbelts? And what do you mean afraid?" Angela asked as Bella started driving.
"I have nothing against regular seatbelts, the car came with these when I bought it." Bella replied and flashed Angela a smile.
She didn't bother explaining what she meant by afraid as they were out of the Forks city limits and she started driving faster and faster. Eventually going over a hundred miles per hour.
"Bella slow down!" Angela shouted when she realized how fast Bella was driving.
Bella sighed and slowed down to ninety. A look at Angela made it clear that she was anything but happy with that speed either so she slowed down further to seventy. Just before they got to Port Angeles they had caught up with Jessica's Mercury. Even Angela had to admit that Bella's dangerous speeding had at least one advantage. She parked where Jess parked and the four of them went to the stores on Main Street. Angela, Jess and Lauren immediately started trying on dresses with Bella giving her opinion on them. Well mainly to Angela and Jess, Lauren wasn't too interested in her opinion. It hadn't taken Angela too long to find a dress she liked, surprisingly a tight and revealing purple dress that definitely showed off more skin than the girl was used to.
"You'll look stunning, Eric won't be able to keep his eyes off of you." Bella said to Angela.
"That's the plan." Angela replied and gave a big smile clearly intended to conceal her nervousness.
It was a more difficult matter when it came to Jess and Lauren who seemed intended to try every dress the store had. Eventually Bella and Angela left to go to another couple of stores that they had wanted to go to, agreeing to meet up with them at a restaurant before they all headed back.
After dropping off Angela's dress and shoes in the Porsche they went to a couple of other stores, when leaving the last one Angela seemed to recall there was a bookstore a little off of Main Street, since they had a little time to spare and since Bella could always use some more books they went looking. They ended up finding the store in somewhat of a back street, it was mainly orientated towards the history of the local Native American tribes and also sold various things made by the tribes. They did have a small selection of fiction novels, Bella picked up a few and also found an interesting book about the history and legends of the Quileute tribe, she wondered if what she had missed at the bonfire would be in there.
"What's your interest in the history of the Quileute tribe?" the Native American man working the register asked curiously.
"I have several friends there on the rez, kinda sorta grew up with them. I'm always eager to learn more and this way I don't have to bother one of the elders." Bella answered to his satisfaction.
Angela picked up a book too and they left the store heading for the restaurant. Angela was leading the way claiming to know a shortcut back to Main Street. They were clearly in the part of Port Angeles that wasn't meant for tourists. As they turned a corner there was a group of men drinking a little further down the sidewalk, they looked like they had been out celebrating. Angela wanted to turn around but Bella grabbed her by the arm to prevent it, not wanting to attract their attention.
"Just stay calm, we'll be fine I promise. We'll just cross the street here." Bella whispered to Angela.
Bella led Angela across the street and they seemed to be fine walking there, until the cat calls came from the drunks. They ignored them but the men seemed hell bent on not being ignored so they crossed the street as well and started following them.
"Angela when we turn the corner I want you to run as fast as you can and don't stop until you reach Main Street." Bella whispered to the shaken girl.
"What about you? Bella these guys are dangerous." Angela whispered back in panic.
"I'll run with you but we'll split up and make sure they chase me, I'm a pretty fast runner they won't catch me." Bella whispered back.
As they turned the corner they started running, Bella used Angela's speed to keep a slower pace until she turned right, crossed the street making sure she got their attention and ran into an alley. Her plan worked, the men had also started running and gave chase to the girl they considered slower and stupid enough to run into an alley. They widely grinned as they had her cornered.
"We're going to have to be quick with this before your little friend gets the cops involved. There's always one dumb enough to run into an alley." One of them said before laughing, clearly the leader of them.
"You have a choice, walk away or face the consequences, it's not too late to make the right choice." Bella stated seriously.
The men started laughing even harder as they came closer. Bella did her best to moderate her speed and strength but let loose when she grabbed the leader by the noticeable bulge in his pants, squeezing hard until she heard and felt something snap. She gave the big leader a couple of lefts and a right hook in quick succession resulting in him flying backwards. The guy who was the second closest had grabbed her arm, she responded by grabbing his wrist and twisting his hand off of her arm, breaking his wrist in the process, his screams were cut short when she punched his lights out. When she went for the third guy a beam of lights and roar of an engine came into the alley. The car skidded to a stop and a furious looking Edward flew out by the time Bella had knocked two of them unconscious already.
"Bella get in the car!" Edward hissed.
"Fuck no!" she yelled as she grabbed a third guy gave him a couple of punches and threw him over her shoulder into a dumpster.
She was starting to chase the remaining two when Edward grabbed her by the arm, making her stop.
"Bella get in the car I got to get you out of here!" Edward insisted.
"Let go of me!" She yelled while trying to free herself from his iron grip without hurting him.
"Only if you get in the car." He insisted.
It was then that she realized Edward had an impossibly strong grip since she hadn't been able to free herself all that easy. She pretended to go along with it, getting into the passenger seat and waited for Edward to get into the driver's seat. She noticed he picked up her things before he got behind the wheel, she bailed out of his car as soon as he did and took off running towards Main Street, she had to find Angela after all. While she was running Edward slowly drove next to her continuing to insist she got into his car. When they reached Main Street Edward had parked while Bella looked for Angela, it didn't take her long to find the shaking girl who was attempting to use her phone. Bella quickly got to her.
"Angela it's ok, you're safe." Bella said when she approached her.
"Bella I was so worried, oh God I'm glad they didn't get you." Angela sobbed.
Bella carefully pulled Angela into a hug and rubbed circles on her back. Getting her to calm down a little.
"Edward!" Angela yelled when she saw him. "Oh God did you find Bella?" Angela followed up with.
"Yes, I d-" Edward started saying before Bella cut him off.
"The bastard prevented me from getting the last two of them. Angela we need to go see my dad, I hurt a couple of them pretty bad, it would be better if we get our version of the facts out first. Are you ok with that?" Bella asked.
"But how did you hurt them? There were five of them." Angela muttered.
"I know martial arts. Now are you ok with going to see my dad?" Bella asked
It was obvious to Bella that Angela was going to go in shock, she remembered something she had read once that food and sugar helped. So while texting Jess that Angela and she wouldn't be able to meet up she planned to stop by the local burger shop drive through. She held Angela's hand for support while they walked to the Porsche which fortunately wasn't parked too far. Edward followed them all the way despite Bella glaring at him several times.
"Can I help you?" She asked Edward when they got to the Porsche.
"I just wanted to ensure you got to your car safely, I'll see you at the sheriff's office." Edward stated as a matter of fact and handed her bag.
He had turned around and walked away before Bella got the chance to reply. If she hadn't been responsible for Angela she would have faced him right then and there but instead she got Angela strapped into the passenger seat and hurried over to the driver's seat. She got 3 cheeseburgers with fries at the drive through with a very large sugary coke for Angela. At her insistence Angela had started drinking it as they drove over to the sheriff's office. Not too surprisingly Edward was already there waiting for them. She glared at him as she got out and went over to the passenger side to get Angela out. When they entered the sheriff's office she realized from the look on the deputy working the reception that she looked like a mess, her hands were covered in blood.
"We would like to file charges against persons unknown." Bella said.
It didn't take them long to be let in, even though she looked like a mess the deputy had recognized her as the sheriffs daughter. She and Angela were taken to a separate room. They wanted to call an ambulance but Bella managed to convince them that both of them were fine. Edward had been taken to a separate room since he insisted on giving a statement too. They had barely sat down when Charlie came running in.
"Bells are you okay? What happened?" he asked.
"I'm fine dad, even though I don't look it." She assured him but kept him at a distance.
She started summarizing what happened, Charlie was horrified but also glad she was ok and certainly surprised that she fought off three of them. He did his best to put Angela at ease a little. Soon a detective came in and took their statements and swabbed Bella's hands for DNA evidence of the perps she had beat up. She was allowed to clean up afterwards. By the time it was all done one of them had already been arrested and two others were located in the local hospital, she could only hope the other two could be found as well. Edward had given a statement too, clearly painting himself in a good light as the hero that saved the sheriff's daughter if the way the deputies treated him was anything to go off. Bella scoffed at the idea of needing his help, that weirdo had only been a hindrance preventing her from dishing out justice.
She drove Angela home, going only slightly above the speed limit since Charlie was following her so he could talk to Angela's parents. Angela was certainly still shaken up, so while Charlie went to talk with her parents she had another round of comforting Angela. Her parents had unfortunately seen it the same way as Charlie had, that Bella sacrificed herself so Angela could get away and got lucky that Edward had arrived in time. It was a relief to finally be home she was looking forward to a nice long hot bath and definitely catching some sleep. Charlie offered to order some pizza's since they were supposed to get take out anyway that night. She had stayed a little longer for Angela so Charlie was already home waiting.
"Are you sure you're ok, Bells? I can still take you to the hospital if you want?" he asked as she came in.
"Yeah I'm okay dad, kicking ass and taking names is in the Swan genes I guess. Too bad your hero boy Ward interfered before I could get the other two. I don't need to go to the hospital, trust me." She said and gave him a smile before giving him a hug.
"Bells I heard what kind of injuries those guys had, how did you learn to fight like that? That Cullen boy might have scared off two of them but you did a lot of damage to the other three." He asked.
"Renee dated a martial arts instructor for a while, he taught me krav maga, in case I ever had to take care of myself." She replied.
"What is that some Asian boxing?" He asked.
"Naah it's from the Israeli army, no nonsense martial arts for real life. Hit them hard where it hurts." She replied.
"Well at least something good came from you having lived with Renee." Charlie grunted.
"Hey dad." Bella said when she was halfway up the stairs.
"Yeah Bells?"
"Did Edward say anything about how he got there?" she asked.
"No, I assumed that he was there with you guys, why?"
"Never mind, I'm going to take a bath, yell when the pizza gets here." Bella said as she went the rest of the way upstairs.
On the other side of Forks Edward proudly walked into the house and started gloating about how he had saved his mate. Rosalie stormed in together with Alice. Alice had a vision several hours ago, Bella had been a blur but she had clearly seen Angela being chased by a bunch of guys. Edward had of course through his gift seen the entire vision and was already racing towards Port Angeles by the time Rosalie was informed.
"See, she's not your mate, if she was you would have helped her." He gloated when Rosalie stood in front of him.
"I didn't interfere because she didn't need any help Edward, you didn't help her either. All you did was prevent her kicking those other two's asses. She wants you to stay away from her, that's also obvious." Rosalie hissed.
"Rosalie is right Edward, Bella wasn't in need of any help. The only thing you did was annoy her." Alice joined her sister.
"You two just don't want to see me happy." Edward hissed.
"Stay away from her, you delusional freak!" Rosalie growled.
Edward and Rosalie nearly clashed, the family was barely able to keep them apart. Emmett and Jasper drug the kicking and screaming Edward outside and away from the house while Alice and Esme held onto Rosalie.
"Enough of your pigheadedness Rose! You're on notice, either you start talking to Bella or I will tell her everything." Esme said when Rosalie calmed down.
"No please don't, She's my mate and I want her to have a happy normal life."
"Rosalie you're killing yourself and you're hurting her by staying away from her. Nobody will ever be able to bring her the happiness that you can. I'm not going to stand by anymore while I see the both of you in pain." Esme said.
"Rose, Jasper felt it, she's in pain unless she's in class with you or sees you in the cafeteria. Hurting yourself is one thing but you're hurting her." Alice added.
Bella spent the evening downstairs with Charlie, she knew he would worry otherwise. The book she had bought contained no answers, she had to find out. It was strange that Billy was so adamant in warning her to stay away from the Cullens. Superstitions existed of course, prejudice did too, but his warnings didn't feel like it and there definitely was something off about the Cullens. Saturday morning she went over to the rez, not surprisingly Jake was already in his garage working away on his truck. Part of her wanted to interrogate him, but it felt wrong to use her power on an innocent boy. She decided to make a lunch for Jake and his dad, Billy was a much better choice to use her power on, he clearly knew something and cooking would give her a perfect excuse to be in the house with Billy. She quickly went over to the Ateara family general store to pick up what she needed for sandwiches and went inside.
"Hey Billy, mind if I use the kitchen to make some sandwiches for all of us?" she asked him.
"Sure, sure, just don't leave a mess." He replied.
"I'd never do that." She replied.
Bella quickly got to work and in no time had a small variety of sandwiches ready. There were some leftovers and she neatly put them in the fridge. She turned around with a plate for Billy and set it down on the kitchen table. He was focused on carving a tiny wooden figure.
"Billy, would you have a moment? I have some questions." she asked.
"Sure, sure, fire away." He said as he put his figure and tools aside.
The older man had recognized she needed to talk about something serious. She told him about the event from yesterday and how Edward had showed up out of nowhere. Billy had gone from worried to satisfied when she started telling about the can of whup ass she had opened and back to worried when she told him of Edward's involvement.
"I bought this book with stories from the local Native American tribes, cause you said Leah and I missed some things. But it didn't contain anything more than what I had already heard. Is there something I should know Billy?" She asked.
Billy was thinking over his answer, seemingly conflicted.
"The Cullen's are dangerous Bella, you really should stay away from them." He eventually said.
Bella sighed, she had hoped it wouldn't come to this, but she had to know.
"Why are they dangerous Billy? Tell me the truth." She compelled him.
"The Cullens, they are cold ones. Our wolves cannot keep you safe on Cullen land. You're only safe here and in town, don't go on Cullen land for your own safety." Billy said.
"What do you mean with cold ones and wolves?" Bella asked while Billy was still under the spell of her gift.
"The cold ones are what you palefaces would call vampires. Undead bloodsuckers. Our tribe has a gift, certain members can shift into wolves. Our wolves can fight the cold ones, but we have a treaty with the Cullens, my grandfather Ephraim Black was the leader of the last pack and made the treaty because the Cullens claimed not to be dangerous. They supposedly don't feed of people, they feed of animals instead. It's why their eyes are gold instead of red." Billy said.
"What about Leah? Is she a wolf?" Bella asked.
"Yes she recently joined the pack, Sam doesn't want her talking to you. He's afraid you'll find out our secret."
"Sam as in her ex? Why does he get to make decisions for her?" Bella hissed, angry at the idea of that ass holding power over her.
"He's the Alpha of the pack Bella, Leah has to obey him." Billy said, seemingly not happy about it.
It sent Bella's blood boiling, the idea of Sam having something to say about Leah. But she knew it was better if she didn't do anything about it right now. She'd have to talk to Leah about it first. Billy, when he came to his senses, begged her not to tell anyone what he just told her. She felt guilty about having used her gift on him, so she agreed. She spent the rest of the afternoon with Jake, before going to check up on Angela. The whole night she was conflicted about what to do. She wondered if Rosalie avoided contact due to her nature. Jasper and Alice didn't seem to have an issue. Edward most certainly didn't. Neither did Esme.
She was still lost in thought when she drove to school on Monday. There must have been a cloudburst, the rain was falling out of the sky by the bucket load. Even for the dreary overcast rainy town it was extreme. The sporty tires on the Porsche meant she couldn't drive fast, so of course the premium parking spots were all already taken by the time she arrived.
Deciding her Porsche would be safest on the side spots the furthest away from the school she parked there. She got out of her car and looked over to where the Cullens were parked. The five of them were waiting by their cars with umbrellas, Edward standing off to the side by his own car. Rosalie was looking straight at her, not just in her direction but full on eye contact. It wasn't a hostile look even. It shook her up so much she hadn't seen or heard the van driving up until it started skidding on the asphalt. Her gift went off like a time bomb freezing everything in place when the van was only a few yards away from her.
"Not the Porsche!" She thought.
When she turned to open the door, so she could move her car, something cold and hard tackled her to the ground. If was like a boulder smashing into her.
"Get off of me!" Bella yelled when she realized it was a person.
She getting freaked out that somebody wasn't affected by her gift, when the person got off of her. No pulled off, she realized when she turned around and saw Rosalie holding Edward.
"So vampires aren't affected and they are very strong." She thought.
"I'm going to move my car." she said while eying them both carefully.
She moved her car out of the way and both vampires were looking at her in confusion. Looking around, the van was still frozen, everything and everyone was frozen. Except the members of the Cullen family.
"Bella what a wonderful gift you have." Edward said.
"Go away Edward." She said and let time resume, knowing they both were fast enough to get out of the vans way.
As time resumed she saw a blonde blur going away but was tackled to the ground again, this time she saw that Edward tackled her. The van crashed against the light pole her Porsche was previously parked next to.
"What are you doing?" she hissed at Edward.
"Carlisle has to examine you, a gift this strong could be dangerous to you." he said.
By now the entire student population had gathered around them, one their phones calling 911, while teachers were making their way through.
"Get off of me." Bella hissed.
She started struggling when Edward didn't comply. Part of her was afraid he was about to bite her. Rosalie had made her way through the crowd too and was whisper hissing at Edward to get off of her. Just when he started to move on his own, coach Clapp who had the brilliant idea to see what the second crowd was for, arrived in the little space they had.
"I pushed her out of the way pretty hard. She hit her head pretty hard." Edward said to coach Clapp.
"Ambulances are on the way." Coach Clapp said. "Stay down, they may need to brace your neck." He added when Bella started getting up.
"I'm fine and I don't need an ambulance." Bella said as she slapped his hand off of her and got up.
Given Forks was such a small place it wasn't a surprise the ambulances were already arriving.
"You got hurt on school property, it's not an option missy." Coach Clapp said clearly not amused with her slapping his hand.
"I'm not hurt, though that freak over there might need one to take him to an asylum." Bella said, getting increasingly pissed off.
"Missy you're not in charge here, you are getting in that ambulance." Clapp insisted when the paramedics got to them.
"I refuse medical attention, anyone who forces it on me will be sued for assault and battery." Bella said.
"Missy I don't care that your daddy is the sheriff, you're getting in that ambulance or else." Clapp said while grabbing her by the arm.
"Or else what?! I'm going home. Go inside and get me suspended or kicked out." She growled and shoved him out of the way.
Bella got into her Porsche, closed the door and started the engine. The thundering noise from revving the engine had made enough room for her to be able to drive away. She drove straight home. The idea of going to a hospital was something she dreaded, even a basic physical exam would reveal she was different. And Edward wanting his father – fellow vampire to study her, was even more frightening. Once the Porsche was parked in the driveway she went up to her room, drew a bath and got out of her soaked clothes.
"That was fast." She thought when she heard the cruiser stopping outside the house with squealing brakes.
She slipped on her red silk robe and went downstairs waiting for Charlie to come in. that's when she noticed a sleek black Mercedes stopping behind Charlie's cruiser.
"If I won't go to the doctor then the doctor will come to me." She thought when she saw a man get out of the Mercedes that could only be Carlisle Cullen.
"Bells! Bells!" Charlie yelled when he barged in, clearly in panic mode.
"Right here dad." Bella answered.
"Oh Bells I was so worried when they called, why didn't you go to the hospital?" Charlie asked while looking over Bella.
"Because I'm fine." Bella replied.
"They said you hit your head pretty hard kiddo. At least let Carlisle give you a check up?" Charlie asked.
"No need, I'm fine." Bella said to Charlie. "Sorry you came all the way out here for nothing doc." She said to Carlisle.
"Bells I want you checked over!" Charlie said more sternly.
"You know I hate doctors. So if you want me checked over I suggest you get a court order!" Bella said with so much venom that even Carlisle recoiled.
"Bella, you're still my daughter!" Charlie said.
"I'm an adult, I have the right to refuse medical attention, the only thing that can force it on me is a court order. So unless you can produce one, which for your info my lawyers are going to fight tooth and nail, I am going to go take a bath!" She yelled.
"And you keep that fucking son of yours away from me!" she hissed at Carlisle before going back upstairs.
She locked her door and got into her tub, it was impossible to relax due to being able to hear both men speak downstairs. The thought of driving to the airport and going overseas entered her mind, though she'd have to consult her lawyer whether or not her emancipation would be recognized. Things had gotten so screwed up so fast today, her abnormality was revealed, not all of it but enough. She couldn't go back to school now most likely, which made the hole in her heart much more severe. It would mean not being able to see Rosalie, just when she had become determined to be more active in getting the girl to open up. Not to mention Rosalie was looking so different at her this morning. She got out when the water started getting cold and got dressed. Carlisle had already left so she went downstairs.
"Do you want me to leave?" she asked Charlie.
"No of course not Bells, please I want you to stay." Charlie said.
"I hate doctor's dad, with a passion." Bella said.
"But why Bells?" Charlie asked.
She explained to her father the tests she was put through when she was a child, not going into details too much about why they deemed those tests necessary. Charlie seemed to get more at ease, eventually after lunch he left to go deal with the fallout. He considered it his fatherly duty even though it was hers to deal with. She settled on the couch turning on the tv, settling for some reruns of old shows. Charlie got home with the verdict when she was making dinner. The school had been embarrassed with the situation, she was in her right to refuse medical attention but she had shoved coach Clapp. That said he had also been manhandling her. Ultimately the principal had decided she would be suspended until Friday.
"Gives me time to meet with Annabelle then." Was all she said.
"You're still going to Seattle Friday?" He asked.
"Of course, I told you that I'm fine."
Charlie had recognized she was still pretty testy over the day's events so decided not to push for anything. She decided to get some sleep that night, knowing Charlie would likely check up on her during the night.
Well well well, she accidentally exposed herself to the vampires and Esme is as fed up with Rosalie's pigheadedness as the rest of you. Stay tuned.
