Hey guys, FireSlash here. I know I haven't updated this story in a while and I'm sorry. School got in the way and any time I found myself free to write, I've been faced with immense writer's block for all my stories. Now that I have more free time, I went through some of my stories to remember where I was in terms of plot. This was the case for 'Ashes'. While rereading the story, I found myself dissatisfied with both the direction and plot of the fic. As such, I'll be rewriting it. For the rewrite, I want to focus more on the volatile nature of the Phoenix Force itself and how it might affect Izuku who wants to use its powers for good (aka: the Phoenix Force, being the cosmic power of destruction and rebirth, aims to wipe out Izuku's universe and he tries to prevent himself from giving into its wishes while aiming to do good. He also can't use the Phoenix Force's powers willing-nilly since it is a cosmic force and must obey cosmic laws (some events must happen, he can't step on the toes of other cosmic entities too much, etc.), which will serve as another challenge for him). The story will naturally go down a much different direction (think the Dark Phoenix Saga). If you're still interested in the idea of Izuku gathering others and fighting the hero-society, I do plan on making an Apocalypse Izuku fic sometime in the future, though his Four Horsemen will be different than who he's chosen as his prophets in this version of the story. For those of you who liked the idea of a powerful Denki, my fic 'Electro' has it so he has the powers of Marvel's Electro. For those of you who liked the idea of Tooru taking more of a front seat in a fic, over on my other account (FireSlashShorts), I have a fic where she is a major character.
Anyways, that's all I really have to say. I hope that you end up enjoying the rewrite despite the concept change and I'll see you soon. I already have half of the first chapter done so it shouldn't be long until I post it. It'll be right here too so you don't have to look out for it :-).
