Hey readers! TSoH here, I know it's been quite a while since I've done anything with this story, and I apologize. I wanted to give you guys an update here, it's going to be a long one, so if you want a tl;dr, it'll be at the very end.
FFXIII is one of my favorite video games, it was a big part of my childhood, it's STILL a part of me. I first put Faith Farron back on Quizilla, a long time ago. I was about 11, just getting into writing and found out about "OCs" being written into "fanfiction", lol. A year later, I got more confident and started posting on , as it's literally THE fanfiction website. That's where Faith's story was first officially called "Triple Farron". I would write her story while I was doing schoolwork. I would write during class, P.E., lunch, etc.
All through middle school, I worked on TF, and although I slowed down, I wrote sometimes in high school as well. Life becomes hectic and busy when you're a student, and once you become an adult, the things you did as a child tend to fade. But, Faith has always been with me, even as I'm 23 and trying to STILL understand adulting.
I love this character, I love her story, I love FFXIII, and I want to still be with her on her journey regardless of what point in my life I am at. If there's still anyone here who has been reading this story from day 1, or just started now, I hope you'll continue to stay (but if you don't, I won't hold it against you) as I proceed with Faith's story.
But, I have to make a BIG note of now, as some changes are being made. I'm once again doing an edit of what I already have. Nothing major, just fixing any grammatical errors, maybe modifying points I've made to be more clear or suit my current writing style.
Now, this might shock you, especially if you've known Faith prior: Faith is no longer Faith. Yes, it's her name for over a decade, and it feels weird to me to change it- but, "faith" and "hope" (Hope Estheim, existing character in the game) are similar, and I did choose that name for her on purpose for that exact reason. But I was also 11, so I thought I was uber clever for that. ;D I still like it, but I wanted to "reshape" Faith, have her more loyal to the concept of FFXIII, as Nomura intended for them. Starting with naming conventions. Lightning and Serah are celestial names, "lightning" being a flash of light in the sky during a storm, and "serah" coming from "seraph", an angel, associated with heaven, associated with the sky. Light's birth name, Claire/Eclair- "Claire" is "light" or "clear", and "eclair" is a dessert, lol, but is also "flash of lightning" in French. With this, I wanted to give Faith a celestial name, something that followed that convention but also suited her character. Something naturally occurring (lightning), but with a bit of magic to it (seraph), yet unique in its own way. I found this one name that I found to perfectly match what I was looking for.

"Aurora" is electricity in the sky at the magnetic poles of the planet, it gives off vibrant pinks, blues, greens (Farron color palette).
Aurora isn't as quiet as her sisters, she's younger and has a more extroverted personality that is consistent throughout her everyday life. Lightning is quiet but can snap in a matter of a second, just like a clap of lightning. Serah, in the first game, is an elusive being that we don't always see, but she is the very center of Light and Snow's momentum within the chaos of their adventure, such are angels and heavens in religion, that belief of an afterlife that is better than our current life, where our loved ones will be to greet us when we're done. Aurora is exciting when you first meet her, she's a Farron which holds quite the infamy in Bodhum, but once you get to actually know her, you see that she's just a kid, not a big warrior soldier like Light, or a mystery academic like Serah. She's a student who loves adventure, who's learned to handle herself, but has been dealt a hand of tragedy in her short life. We come across a scene in the first chapter when someone recognizes her as a Farron, but acts disappointed once they've met her (they're just rude, honestly, but still). When you come down to it, the Aurora Borealis, although beautiful, isn't much more than electrical currents. But, regardless of whether she's "just another Farron" or "just a natural occurrence", she's still unique, she has her beliefs, a story to tell.
Thus is Triple Farron, the story of Lightning, Serah, and now Aurora (formally Faith) Farron. The name change will be present in the story, you will not see her being called Faith again (unless I do it by accident, ofc). She's also had a bit of a physical design change as well, which I have drawn!
