Hi could some of you maybe help me? I now have this story as Teen, romance and drama. Do you feel that's correct? At first I had Romance and Angst but I am not sure if I can take angst literally. And I don't know if this is a hurt/comfort story. Sorry I am so clueless but I would like to hear what you think. Thanks.
Anyway enjoy this chapter.
Paige was walking in the hallways while being on her prefect duties. She was supposed to walk with Draco but they hadn't spoken in days now. She didn't want to speak with him if she was totally honest. But she did want to know what he was doing.. He had something he had to do? Did it have to do with Katie Bell? In what kind of mess was he in?
She heard stone moving again, the entrance of Dumbledore's office opened again and Harry came out of it.. again. He was watching his step, when he looked up he directly saw Paige. She waved at him. He waved back as he walked towards her.
'Need some fresh air again?' Harry asked with a smile.
'No, Prefect duties.. you on the other hand shouldn't be out in the halls this late, you know.' Paige said, wanting to mess with him for a bit.
He gave a small laugh. 'Yeah you are right, what are you going to do about it?' He asked playfully.
'I…' Paige was lost for words, just the way he said it, made her brain get fussy, 'I could tell..' She finally said. Harry moved closer again.
'I can't let that happen.' He said softly, taking her hands into his. 'I will have to bribe you then.' He moved to her lips. He kissed her softly but shortly. Making Paige move forward, almost begging for more.
'You're being mean.' Paige said softly. pulling him back into the kiss. This time it was a little bit harder. Lusty feelings exploding inside of her. Lost in the kiss, all the sudden she felt the connection light up in her heart. She backed off, somewhat scared of the feeling. Once they separated the feeling went away again.
'I felt it too.' Harry said, looking at her. 'It is still there.'
She looked back at him, suddenly remembering her dream.. Him kissing Ginny. She moved back to him. Kissing him a lot harder this time. She felt him being surprised but quickly found his footing. He grabbed her around the waist, pulling her closer. Closer than they have ever been. Paige could feel the connections sparking up again.
Dumbeldore was right, Paige thought, once she turned 17 she didn't have to go back to her parents. She was safer then she had ever been. She could choose Harry. She should choose Harry. The kiss felt like forever, yet not long enough. They pulled apart, breathing heavily still holding on to each other.
'Funny how we always seem to meet each other.' Harry said, smiling brightly. placing his forehead against hers.
'Yeah.. as if you are always meant to find each other.' Paige said, closing her eyes, feeling Harry in her heart.
Harry's face changed a bit, giving off the feeling of awkwardness. 'Paige at the party, what did they mean by not wanting to get burned by you?' Paige stapped back from him.
'uhh.' Paige stumbled. She felt panic boil up inside. She wasn't ready for this conversation. What if after hearing what she had done he would not like her anymore. What if he would look at her in disgust or fear?
'Well, it wasn't like I burned the whole class..' She started not looking at him.
'Prank gone wrong?' She heard him ask.
'No, I didn't mean to. This girl, Madison, she just made me so angry. She was talking about…my parents, my friends.. she was talking about my sister.. She just found out that she died and she wouldn't shut up about it.' Paige looked at her feet. feeling her body shake. Suddenly she felt Harry's hands embracing her.
'It's okay. You didn't mean to.'
Paige pushed herself out of the hug. 'No I wanted her to burn, Harry. I wanted her to suffer. I just closed my eyes for a second and the next thing I knew there was fire everywhere… She was on fire..'
'Did she…?' Harry didn't finish, almost not daring to ask.
'NO, no… but she was in the hospital wing for days. The school didn't want me any more, so the only option my parents had was Hogwats..'
'Why didn't they send you to Hogwarts in the first place?' Harry asked.
'Honestly? I don't know.' Paige answered, feeling a bit calmer. Harry didn't hate her?
'You don't hate me?' She had to ask, just to make sure.
Harry looked surprised, 'No, Paige. I don't hate you, I don't think I can.'
'You should Harry, I'm an awful person.'
'Don't do that…' He looked tired. 'You're not. I wished you would believe that.'
It got silent for a moment. She couldn't talk for a second, the next worry burdened her in her mind, her assignment.
'What are you going to do during the holiday break?' Harry asks, breaking the silence and changing the subject.
Paige felt more panic explode inside of her. She had to go back to her parents this christmas break, back to her mother.
'I'm going home.' She said finally, shivering when she said it.
'Really? why?'
Paige looked down, not knowing what to say.
'You have to?' Harry then asked, taking a step closer towards her.
'Yeah, that was the deal.' Paige said, still not looking at Harry.
'I'm so sorry.' Harry pushed some hair out of her face. 'If you can't handle it anymore, you can always come to the Burrow.' Their eyes finally met again. Paige smiled sadly.
'Thank you, Harry.' She kissed him again, with everything she got.. It almost felt like this could be the last time. She didn't know if she would come out of it alive this Christmas break. She wrapped her arms around his neck. Harry's hands traveled to her lower back, pulling her closer to him. She didn't wanna stop. Their kiss became hotter.. Harry pushed her gently against the wall, not breaking their kiss. Inside of Paige her heart lit up again, more powerful than ever. Like fire restarting in the soul. She quickly pushed Harry back, thinking about her mother.
'What's wrong.' Harry asked, seeing the terror in her eyes. 'I was feeling the connection again.'
'Yeah, and we can't..' Paige was breathing heavily. 'They will know it's back and then the deal will be off. I won't be allowed to go back to Hogwarts, I will never see you again.'
'Alright, yeah then we shouldn't.' Harry agreed, taking another step away from Paige.
'It will be different after the break, I promise.' Paige said, smiling at him not showing her fear.
'I will see you after the break then.' Harry said, giving her a small kiss on her cheek and walked away.
'Yeah.' Paige mumbled, watching him walk away.
Her dad and Paige just arrived at the Prince manion. She felt frozen again, not moving towards the door.
'Ashley isn't home yet, dear.' Bill said, pushing his daughter forwards. When they entered the house it was indeed empty. Paige placed herself on the couch in the living room. Her father made some tea and gave that to his daughter. He placed himself next to her also with some tea.
They were silent, Paige took a sip of her drink. Trying to calm herself but her anxiety was going through the roof.
'Did you find something out?' Her father suddenly asked. Paige looked at him then her tea. 'I haven't given you the potion, I was just wandering.' He quickly added. Paige turned back letting her head hang a bit.
'Nope.' She said then sat up again. 'I found out about Evanora Greengrass, though.' Paige said casually, looking at the distraught look on her father's face. It took him a while to answer.
'I.. well..' He stumbled. 'Who is that?' He then asked, trying to sound innocent. Paige let out an indignant laugh then pulled the picture she had found in his office out of her pocket and showed her him.
'Where did you get that?!' He asked, looking with horror at the picture.
'Found it in your office.' Paige confessed. 'Who is she, dad? Why is she in the picture with you and me?'
Her dad stayed quiet for a few moments, still looking at the picture. He took it, not taking his eyes off of it. If Paige wasn't mistaken tears were in his eyes.
'Paige, this is-' He started saying. But they heard the front door open. 'Ashley.' Her dad quickly put the photo in his pocket.
Ashley walked into the living room. 'Good, you are here.' She said to Paige. 'Then we can get started.'
Ashley placed her daughter in the same room they performed the incantation. This time there was a chair for Paige to sit in.
Her mom brought in a glass of what seemed like plain water. But Paige knew better. 'Drink up.' She said handing over the glass to Paige. Her father was standing in the corner, having a difficult look on his face.
Paige drank it. It tasted bitter. She put the glass down and looked at her mother. She noticed how different her blue eyes looked then the ones of Paige. Her father had brown eyes, so she always thought she had the eyes of her mother but actually not.
'Well Paige, let's start. Do you know what the prophecy foretold?' Ashley started kneeling before Paige, so she could look her in the eyes.
'No.' Paige said.
'NO?!' Ashley sounded angry. 'Did you drink the potion?' She picked up the glass. 'Have you even had a conversation about it with Harry?' She asked, looking at the empty glass.
'No.' Paige said again.. Her heart was pounding in her chest.
'Really…? Have you even tried to get him to talk about it?
Paige's heart sank to her stomach, the question she didn't wanna get. 'No.'
Ashley stood up, obviously angry. She was breathing heavily. 'Then what have you been doing at Hogwarts?'
'Avoiding him, I broke up with him.' Paige said, having no control over what she was saying.
'What? To… save him?' Ashley said in disgust.
'Yes.' Paige's eyes glazed at her father, he looked terrified.
'You little bitch.' Her mother stayed, taking out her wand. 'You are absolutely useless,' She pointed her wand at Paige.
This is it,' Paige thought, closing her eyes. She would never see him again. Never hold him. But this was for the best.. She kept Harry safe.
'No, Ashley!' She heard her father yell. Paige opened her eyes to see her father standing in front of her, shielding her.
'Get out of the way, Bill. If you don't want the same faith as Greengrass!' Ashley screamed, she sounded like she was going to go insane.
'What did you do with Evanora Greengrass?' Paige asked suddenly.
'Paige, please.' Her father begged his daughter.
'Who is she?' Paige asked again.
'Shut up!' Ashley screamed, starting to pace around the room. 'Let's not go there.' She looked at Paige again.
'Is there anything useful, you found out about the Potter boy.'
'Yes..' Paige said fearing what she would say next. 'He is having appointments with Dumbledore.'
Ashley stared at Paige for a second, calming down a bit. 'That is interesting.' She said as she started to pace again. 'That is good, my child.'
She grabbed Bill and pulled him to his knees. 'Now, Paige I know how you work.' She pointed her wand at her husband. 'I am giving you, yet again, your last chance. You will get the information we need, or your dear father will find a fate worse than death.
Paige sprung up from her chair. Ashley pressed her wand on the cheek of Bill. 'Do you understand?'
They stared at each other for quite a while when finally Paige gave in. 'Yeah, I understand.' She sat back down, head in her hands. Ashley let go off her husband and walked out of the room.
Bill brought himself towards Paige. 'Paige,' He said softly. 'Please don't worry about me.' bringing the hand of his daughter down.. They looked at each other. 'This is all my fault… I deserve anything that comes my way.'
Paige stayed quiet. He looked so old.. so hurt… She looked at him for a long time before speaking up again. 'Who is Evanora Greengrass?' She asked again.
Bill showed a painful smile. 'She was my wife… she was your… Mother.'
Paige heard the words come out of his mouth.. she felt like she had already had known it but didn't expect to hear it just now.
'Then who is she?' Paige asked, pointing her finger to the door referring to Ashley.
'She was my…our chance to be accepted back into the family.' Her father explained looked on the verge of tears. 'Your mother and I weren't welcome in the family when we didn't choose You Know Who's side. But we were broke.. We could hardly take care of you and then she got pregnant again… with your sister…'
Paige was trying hard to take this all in but her head felt so full… 'So when your sister was born I asked my family for help. They would only, if I would marry Ashley and that Evanora would leave our lives.'
'She left us?' Paige asked, feeling exhausted.
'That was the plan, but when the day came, she couldn't leave you behind.'
A voice flashed through Paige's head. 'I will never leave you.' it said, followed by a green light.
'Ashley killed my mom?' Paige managed to get out.
'She had told Evanora that she could get out alive if she would leave. But she wouldn't leave you two. She didn't have to die.' Her father stood up. 'I will get you to your room, I will bring you food as well so don't worry about that.'
Paige looked at him silent again, her mind not able to think straight.
'And what did you do?' Paige asked, feeling anger rise up. 'Did you even try to stop her?'
'I was thinking of you and your sister.' He said, not looking Paige in the eyes.
'Right…' Paige couldn't keep fighting like this, she just wanted to sleep. She stood up. 'I can get myself to my room.' She spoke making her way across the room before stoppen and turning back to her father.
'When did this happen?'
'Halloween, 1981.' Her father answered.
And with that Paige walked out of the room. Made her way up stairs into her bedroom. She closed the door before busting out in tears. Letting herself fall onto her bed, she started to sob uncontrollably. It felt like hours before she calmed down. Breathing heavily she tried to calm herself. She was at least going back to Hogwarts, once she turned 17 in April she would be free…
She thought about Ashley, who was so ready to kill Paige in her blinded rage.
Paige really thought that was it. She placed her hand over her heart. Trying to feel Harry, find the connection but it stayed lost.
Thank you very much for reading.
