Celestia, Kendall, Yaz, Ben, and Hudson were hiding beneath the undergrowth, far from their fellow campers and Mae. BRADs, Mercenaries, surrounded them, and the head-honchos of this whole operation were there to see it. Kendall knew that rescuing them would be futile, knowing that they would be captured as well. Celestia wants to rush over and save them, but Yaz holds her down and keeps the little dragon quiet. They had to watch helplessly as the two leaders came forward, and what's shocking is that Kenji's dad, Daniel Kon, is helping Uberto Mortem in this whole operation.
"Dad?" Kenji said in shock, staring at his father with disbelief.
"Kenji? Wh-What are you doing here?" Daniel Kon asked in shock.
"We...we were shipwrecked, we took shelter and...Dad, you're the CEO of Mantah Corp?" Kenji questions his father, completely in shock about what just happened.
"Kenji, a lot of things have happened, but right now, you should come with us." Daniel assures his son.
"Um...with the son of a psychopath?!" Brooklynn points towards Uberto, who frowns at her, "No thank you!"
"Look, I know that you heard about his father's action, but he's here to help change the world." Daniel said to them, trying to convince the group that they meant no harm.
"Then why did you send that killer dino after us?!" Sammy exclaims, referring to Slick the Night Feeder.
"It wasn't our intention to get you killed." Daniel assures, side glaring towards Kash, who was standing close by, "He was supposed to get things up and running. Not commit murder."
"Hey! I had to do what was done. And my dino fights can make a lot of money better than some kind of medicine!" Kash exclaims, blurting out their plan without a care in the world.
"Medicine?" Kenji asked in confusion.
"What are they talking about?" Brooklynn whispers to Mae, unsure what they mean.
"Your guess is good as mine," Mae answered softly, keeping a shaking Val behind her, "But I have a bad feeling about this."
"That 'medicine' can change the world for the better," Daniel said with a glare, "Your dino fights will cause a lot of money loss, you know how hard it is to clone new dinosaurs? It will take years to make a new one with limited resources! Apparently, I gave you too much freedom when I was gone."
Kash glares back at him, "Too much freedom?! You mean that you were happy to sit back with your pen pal over there while I did all the hard work?! You know what? Forget this. This is my island." Kash said in a dead serious tone before taking out his controls, giving the BRAD-Xs a new command. The robots' eyes changed into red, facing towards the mercenaries, campers, Mae, and the unfazed bosses, while Kash grins evilly, "Party time! Take them out."
The campers and Mae gasped, as the BRAD-Xs were about to attack until Daniel said a command while Unerto simply rolled his eyes at the egoistic Kash, "Execute override nine-one-six."
And with Daniel's command, the BRAD-Xs stopped, forgetting about Kash's orders. The technician stared in disbelief as his robots powered down, "You didn't really think I'd give you total control, did you?"
Before Kash could do anything, Hap came behind him and smacked him on the back of Kash's head with the butt of his rifle. His hit was so hard that Kash fell onto the ground, unconscious. The campers and Mae stared at Hap in shock while the hunting guide gave a nod towards the bosses.
"Thank you, Mr. Hap, we'll make sure Mr. Langford will be sure to pay for his sudden betrayal." Uberto said before looking towards a shaking Val, "Now, back to the bus-" He was suddenly cut off when Slick the Night Feeder's roar was suddenly heard, forcing everyone to cover their ears.
"What in the hell was that!?" Hawkes yelled out.
Just then, Big Eatie and Little Eatie came out from the other side of the undergrowth, letting out loud roars before flipping the vehicles with no problem, causing the men to jump off while screaming. When they flip the vehicles, they destroy the headlights in the process, making them lose light in the darkness. Daniel was about to order the BRAD-Xs to attack, but in a blink of an eye, some of the BRAD-Xs were brutally attacked at lightning speed and cutting them into pieces. As it turns out, Big Eatie and Little Eatie are helping Slick with the robots by destroying the lights from the vehicles, allowing Slick to have a path to destroy the robots.
Their reason to do so is to save Val. The poor little girl was shaking in fear, clinging to Mae's side clutching the Paleoneurobiologist's shirt, tears streaming down her eyes as she looked to the ground. She couldn't hear the men's screams when they were being attacked by the predators. Daniel almost got attacked by Sabe the Smilodon, who joins in, attacking a BRAD-X from behind, biting its robotic head with his fangs as it thrashes around, trying to get the Smilodon off it. The BRAD-X lets loose a flurry of electric balls, hitting some drones that were going to flash some light, and some BRAD-Xs, and almost Daniel Kon in the process. Seeing his dad in danger, Kenji quickly went to Val and tried to snap her out of it, trying to convince her to call off the predators.
"Val! You have to tell them to stop!" Kenji said, trying to get Val to snap out of it.
"I don't wanna go. I don't wanna go." Val whispers out, crying as she holds onto Mae, who was comforting the girl the best way she could.
Kenji yelps when Sabe pins down the BRAD-X before moving away, just in time, when Slick slices the robot in half, "I know! I know! But my dad will make sure you're cared for! He's not gonna experiment with you! I promise! Just call them off."
Val wasn't sure if she should do it, she was so scared of being used as a test subject. She saw it beforehand when she was captured; she nearly died because of Uberto. Before Val could even decide, Uberto decided by pulling out a gun and grabbed Brooklynn, who screams, and points the gun towards Brooklynn's head.
"Call them off or your friend will get shot!" Uberto threatened.
Upon seeing Brooklynn threatened, Val didn't want to see her friends get hurt. So, mustering enough courage, Val swallows her fear, she lets out a yell that the predators could hear. "STOP!" The Predators stopped their attacks, growling in confusion. Val made a few hiccups, but she was able to make a command, "Go! Hide! I'll be alright! Just hide!"
The predators were hesitant, not wanting to leave her behind, but seeing that one of her friends was in trouble, they had no choice but to retreat, for now. Sinking towards the shadows, the prehistoric predators growled, watching them in the darkness. Hawkes ordered his men to get the remaining vehicles ready, bring the campers and Mae with them. Mae carries a trembling Val in arms protectively, glaring towards the mercenaries that dares harm her. They quickly drive off to the safe location, leaving the angered predator beasts behind, calling some drones to make a blockade to prevent them from following them. Celestia soon got out of her hiding spot, followed by Kendall, Yaz, Ben, and Hudson.
"Val..." Celestia whispers in fear, eyes watering a bit.
Kendall placed a gentle hand on her shoulder, "Hey, she's gonna be okay. We're gonna get her and the others out of there."
"How?! There's gotta be like a hundred of them!" Ben pointed out, referring to the mercenaries and the BRAD-Xs.
"I know, I know, the odds are against us, but we will figure this out. For now, we have to fall back, and gather as much help as we can get."
"Who's gonna help us?" Hudson asked.
"The dinosaurs that Val befriended on the Biomes we traveled to and we needed to find a way to break in without getting spotted." Kendall planned as they all gathered back to their hideout, planning a way to save their friends.
Darius, Yaz, Kenji, Sammy, Val, and Mae have been taken back to the base. The mercenaries were keeping a lookout for any danger, fearing another dino would come in and get them. They were taken to the lounge, where Daniel will explain everything to his son about his reason on why he's working with Uberto Mortem. Although they, minus Kenji, are unsure if they should believe his words, they have to listen anyway. However, the little girl was trembling so much that she didn't hear their conversation or dare to look, fearing Uberto was going to hurt her. She was too terrified to move her body. Mae realizes that Val doesn't want to be here and needs rest.
"She needs to get some sleep." Mae spoke, daring to speak in front of her superior, as she held Val tightly in her arms, "She's been through a lot right now."
Uberto wanted to decline but Daniel beat him to it, "Of course, we prepared a room for her on the top floor, VIP suite." He assures Mae, who gave him a look of wariness, "One of the BRAD-Xs shall take you there. And if you are not comfortable, Mr. Hap will be keeping you company."
Mae frowns towards a stoic face Hap, "Great..." She mutters out, not to please to have a game hunter with them.
"Also, we prepared some clothing for her, she might need it." Daniel said to Mae.
Mae only responded with a nod, following the BRAD-X and Hap to the room. The campers were giving them worried looks, fearing for both Mae and Val's safety. Mae gave them an assuring look, silently telling them that she and Val will be okay, and that she will take care of Val. The Behavioural Paleoneurobiologist carries Val to the room with two terrifying chaperones. Leaving Darius, Brooklynn, Kenji, Sammy,
"Dad, why are you doing this? Why help him after what his father did." Kenji questions his father, eyes filled with doubt.
Daniel sighs, trying to assure and convince his son that he's on their side, "Kenji, I know you heard rumors about Mortem can be farfetched, but I can assure you that Uberto here, isn't like his father. In fact, he wants to change the world for the better."
"Like creating a giant bomb would wipe out all human population and replacing them with mega humans?" Brooklynn said dryly, remembering Dark, Marco, and Archie's explanation about Uberto's psycho dad.
"And what about the time he kidnapped Val?" Darius reminded him.
"I know, I know what he had done, but he wants to help people, people with rare diseases and deformations," Daniel explained, walking towards his son, "With Uberto's help, we can create a new type of medicine that could cure and save thousands of lives. Scientists and doctors won't have to struggle in finding a cure."
"By why Val? What does she have?" Kenji dared ask his father.
"Your friend...Val..." Daniel said her name with slight hesitation, as if he was thinking that Val was more of a product but a person, "Has a rare genetic coding that we need to create this medicine to save lives, Kenji. People who wish to live without suffering any pain in themselves, so they can see the changing world with their own eyes. That is why we need her; she is the key to creating this medicine."
"Then why didn't you tell her uncle or Mr. Masrani about this?" Darius asked the billionaire, "They would understand."
"Given the fact of our...history together." Uberto mutters before clearing his throat, "They refuse to share information about her to me or Mantah Corp."
"Maybe they have a good reason." Brooklynn mumbles with annoyance.
"But with her help, we can fix the wrong and make a difference, maybe even coexisting with the dinosaurs one day." Daniel explains as he places his hands on Kenji's shoulders, "You have to trust me on this, Kenji, if for the good of the company and for our family name."
Kenji was unsure of his father's idea. From what he recalled by Danica (Dark), Marco, and Archie that both Mantah Corp and Serpenti Neri are the ones that kidnapped children from homes. He knows that he shouldn't trust them. But this is his father, his dad would never allow children to be kidnapped. Kenji denies the fact that his father agrees on the kidnapping. He believes that the previous CEO of Mantah Corp who made the deal with Serpenti Neri. And believes his father was forced to continue it. He also wishes to impress his dad, hoping to get the affection and approval from him. Therefore, without a second thought, Kenji agreed to help his dad.
"Don't worry, dad, I'll talk to Val and try to convince her to help." Kenji said, earning shock looks from his fellow campers.
"Kenji?!" Brooklynn exclaims in anger.
"DUDE! NO!" Darius exclaims in disappointment.
"Why?!" Sammy also exclaimed, couldn't believe what she was hearing.
"Guys, come on! My dad wants to help. And if we cooperate, maybe he can get us back home safely." Kenji said, trying to make his friends understand.
"Kenji, this is dangerous." Brooklynn said to him.
"I know, I know, but...you gotta trust him, my dad knows what he's doing." Kenji assures them, almost sounding pleadingly, "We need their help more than ever, and besides, my dad isn't a bad guy. Trust me on this."
At first, the three remaining campers weren't sure if they should trust Kenji's dad, but...but they really need to get out of here, even if it means to make a deal with the devil. So, without a word or choice, they agreed to be corporate, making Kenji smile.
"Great, we can continue our conversation in the morning; you all need a good meal." Daniel said, gesturing to the hall, "The dining hall is this way, and once you're all done eating, rooms are prepared for all of you to sleep."
Kenji couldn't help but smile in appreciation, "Thanks, dad."
"It is the least I can do for all the trouble that Kash has done to you all. I will even make sure to have someone bring some food for your little friend."
"I'll do it, dad." Kenji said to his father, who was surprised by this, "Val isn't too comfortable with strangers; she'll be more comfortable to have a familiar face."
Daniel smiles at his son's decision, "That's actually a good idea, Kenji. I'm surprised you know how to deal with a little girl."
Kenji, feeling a sense of happiness, said, "Well, I've been getting to know her and her sister."
"Her sister?" Uberto suddenly spoke, surprised by his words, "Last time I checked, she never had a sister."
The four campers paled, realizing that Uberto has no idea about Val's doppelganger sister, Celestia, until now. Before they could make an excuse, Daniel stops them, "I see that there are more surprises. If she is out there...she must be all alone in the jungle. Is there anyone else out there?"
The campers looked at each other, unsure if they should tell them or not. They worried that they might be captured or killed, and Kenji already blurted out about Val having a sister that Uberto didn't know about. However, knowing Kendall, she would protect them from the incoming threat, plus. They have big friends watching over them.
"They're out there...somewhere...I think." Darius mutters out, praying that they do not find their friends.
"Well, if they are still out there, I'll send some BRADs to do some search for them; they might be very exhausted from staying out there." Daniel said with an assuring tone, "Now, why don't you all rest up and eat, leave everything to me."
"Thanks, dad." Kenji thanked his father before he and his friends left the lounge and followed some men to the dining area, leaving the two businessmen alone.
"That's a nice act you put up." Uberto said with his arms crossed.
Daniel sighs and looks at Uberto blankly, "I have to make sure my son is on my side. He must know what we are doing is for the good of our name."
"Oh, like part of your wife's sudden supposed 'accident'?" Uberto reminds Daniel, who grew sour and silent.
Mentioning about Daniel's wife or better yet his ex-wife brought bitter memories. You see, Kenji's mom used to be with Daniel, but they broke up years ago when Kenji was only three years old. Something to do with Daniel not being there for Kenji's life. Kenji's mom won full custody over Kenji since she's more parental care for him while Daniel gives full child support. However, Kenji's mom wanted to take Kenji as far from Daniel as possible, thinking that he's better off without him. However, Daniel needs an heir to his business. He couldn't remarry because he didn't have time to start another family. So, he had no choice, but to hire someone to get rid of his ex-wife. Unbeknownst to Kenji, his mom's accident wasn't an accident. When Kenji was seven, he was left with a nanny as his mom went on a business trip, but they had no idea that her plane was sabotaged, making sure that she didn't survive. With no other relatives, Kenji lived with his father. And being the sole and only heir to his business, Daniel expects Kenji to follow in his footsteps. And making sure he doesn't know everything, but he has too eventually, for the good of the company.
"It was her own fault for keeping Kenji away from me." Daniel said dryly. "He has to know how to run a company, even if it means sacrificing many people."
"Hmph, you just sound like my father." Uberto said to him before looking at some BRADs, "So...what shall we do with our technician?" He questions Daniel about Kash.
"For now, he still works for us. These controlling chips may be proven useful in the future." Daniel said to his partner.
Uberto nodded in agreement, "Indeed, he will continue working on it, even if he tries to kill us." He snorted as he shook his head, "Mr. Langford will have to prove his worth yet again. This is how he thanked us for giving him this job after he was kicked out from MIT.
Kash used to be a student at Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT for short), he thought of himself as the best, but proved falter as there was a young genius in MIT, who beat Kash in every invention he made, and won many awards and competition. And knowing Kash, due to his bad temper, attempted to cause harm against his supposed rival. However, he was caught by the school security when he snuck in the school grounds last night and attempted to rig his rival's inversion to explode in his face with shrapnel. The MIT school board found out about this and knew that Kash has a bad reputation for causing violent outbursts and causing trouble to other students. He was given many warnings, but he never learned, and his action was the final straw. He was then expelled from MIT and was given a restraining order from coming close to the student that he tried to harm as well as coming near the school. This made Kash furious and vowed that he will get them back for expelling him.
That's when Daniel and Uberto hired him. They knew about his tech skill and hired him to be the island's technician. Giving Kash the funding and materials he needs to make the BRADs, as well as its security system. And since Kash knows how to make these chips, he will have to make more, so Uberto can improve and manufacture it to the highest bidder.
"We'll make sure to give him little access, and if he tries anything...well...you can do whatever you want with him." Daniel said to Uberto.
"Hmm...I do need a live specimen to be a training dummy for my next hybrid dinosaur." Uberto said with amusement. "Now, we should prepare, the investors will be here tomorrow."
"Yes, they want to see the girl's ability beforehand. Are your dinosaurs that you prepared ready for tomorrow?"
Uberto nodded his head, "Yes, both Tarbosaurus and Yutyrannus are ready."
The Tarbosaurus and Yutyrannus are both related to the T. Rex, but both have different periods. The Tarbosaurus is from the Late Cretaceous Period, and it is smaller but with a really powerful jaw. The Yutyrannus is from the Early Cretaceous, and it is known to be the largest feathered dinosaur ever discovered. These two apex predators may have come from different eras, and have different appearances, but they have something in common, they were both created by Uberto's father, Renaldo Mortem. The Tarbosaurus was meant to be in Jurassic World, but the embryo was stolen before it could be made. And the Yutyrannus was secretly created in a top-secret genetic facility in China. Unfortunately, both assets, a male & a female, both stolen when they were still eggs. The perpetrator was unknown and could not be found. But the two assets were actually made by Mortem, and he wanted them back for his own personal gain. He placed the assets on a private facility on the Mantah Corp Island, where they were monitor and placed far from the Biomes. However, recently, the Yutyrannus couple decided to start a family, where the female laid five eggs, which she and her mate guard fiercely, never allowing anyone to enter. Heck, they destroyed many BRADs that tried to tranquilize them, and they still won't stand down. They will guard their eggs vigilantly and never give up.
"With that little girl's abilities, we can finally control these dinosaurs and create that medicine that doctors and scientists dream to have." Uberto said to Daniel.
"And we can make fortune thanks to her." Daniel said in agreement before typing something on his tablet, sending some drones out to the island, "I have sent some drones to search for the rest of the campers; we need them alive, so the girl can be corporative."
"Indeed, she is young, but also vulnerable, she cannot stand watching her friends get hurt." Uberto said to Daniel.
"Don't worry, they can't be far." Daniel assures his partner, "After all, they don't know the island. And once we have the investors' approval, you can have her friends for your little experiments."
"I do need to rebuild my father's work," Uberto said in agreement, already planning to experiment with the campers.
However, unbeknownst to them, they were not aware that they were being watched but Butler's drone, hidden above the ceiling lamp, recording their whole conversation.
Kendall led the remaining campers and their prehistoric company through the Redwood Forest Biome. They were heading towards the Jungle Biome in order to get some help since Val befriended a Ceratosaurus (Rusty) and the two Velociraptors (Sunny and Ginger), and the Dilophosaurus. They need all the help they could get in order to stop Mantah Corp and save their friends. But as they were heading towards the nearest door, they spotted incoming drones. Quickly, they took cover in some undergrowth. They watched as some drones flew by, staying absolutely quiet, making sure not to get the drones' attention. The baby dinos stayed quiet, thanks to Celestia, so the drones won't spot them. They watched quietly towards drones. The drones flew away after they didn't find the group. They all sigh in relief, watching the drones disappearing from sight.
"We need a place to take cover." Kendall said quietly.
"Where? We're basically surrounded." Yaz whispers back.
Before they could speculate any further, they heard something. They quickly turned around, ready to attack, mostly Kendall and the predators, but quickly stopped when they found out it was one of Butler's mini drones. It made cute beeping sounds, getting their attention.
"It's one of Butler's drones!" Ben said in relief.
"But what's it doing here?" Hudson asked curiously.
The mini drone started to fly around them, like it was trying to lure them somewhere. They weren't sure why but if it knows somewhere to hide, they have to follow. They followed the mini drone carefully to the foliage. Making sure not getting caught by the Mantah Corp's drones. The Mini drone took them to an unknown clearing. And in this clearing was a big metal platform. They notice a control module nearby, which is attached to the metal floor. Kendall went over to inspect it, and slowly realized it was some sort of cargo elevator of some kind.
"What is that?" Ben asked.
"It looks like a cargo elevator." Kendall said, looking at the platform. "It is similar to the ones in Jurassic World but transports bigger items. In which case, dinosaurs." Kendall inspects it carefully, "And I think this will lead us underground."
"Do you think it will be safe there?" Celestia asked Kendall.
"Hopefully, the drones and BRADs are looking for us here in the forest, but they won't expect us underground." Kendall explains before narrowing her eyes, "Although, we might encounter some BRADs patrolling there. So, I want you all to stay close to me and our friends here." She gestured to the predators and Pierce, "Got it?"
"Got it." The four campers nodded in agreement.
The Mini Drone was able to use control, via wireless connection, and made the elevator go down. The group stayed close as they were heading down a sewer facility. Celestia made sure that Slick the Night Feeder wears a sack over his eyes, shielding him from the light while using the rope that was tied on his neck as a guide, making sure he doesn't wander off. They carefully walked through the path, carefully observing the surroundings, before reaching to the center. And what they saw nearly made their mouths drop. In the center, there was a huge machine, giant wires, pipes, and a number of computer terminals managing it.
"What is this place?" Yaz asked in confusion and worry.
"I believe this is where the island gets its power from." Kendall suggested, looking around the area. "This core must be connected to the entire island, powering everything, including the BRADs."
"If this is their source of power, we can hack into it!" Hudson suggested.
"Yes, we can," Kendall said before looking at the mini drone, "Can hack into the system?"
The mini drone beeps, saying a yes, before hovering to the core, easily hacking the system. While they watched the drone hacking into the system, the Spinoceratops siblings, Angela & Rebel, were roaming around, playing with Bumpy the Ankylosaurus and Firecracker the Brachiosaurus. They were being watched by Redford the Dog, who barks at them to be careful. The baby dinos paid no mind to him as they continued playing about. However, they weren't aware that something was underneath the water, watching them, hunting them. But before it could strike, the creature notices someone sitting afar from the group, quietly whimpering.
It reveals that Celestia was sitting at the corner, sitting on the floor, her arms wrapped around her legs, she was quietly crying. She was so worried about Val and their friends. She didn't want to lose them. She knows how twisted Uberto can be, he might be starting to experiment with Val as we speak. Celestia closes her eyes as a tear suddenly falls off her eyes, sliding down her face before hardening, turning into pure diamond. Celestia has a special trait in her human form that separates from the rest. She can cry diamond tears, genuine, and pure tear shaped diamonds. She was able to do this two years ago, a very rare trait indeed. The diamond tear landed on her palm. Celestia looked at the diamond tear with sad eyes before clutching it with her hand.
"Val...I hope you're alright," she whispers, praying for her sister's safety.
"CELESTIA, LOOK OUT!" Kendall yelled out. Seconds before something arose from the water beneath them and came behind Celestia.
The little dragon turned and gasped. Right in front of her was a marine reptile called a Nothosaurus.
A four-legged marine reptile from the Triassic Period. It stood twice as big from the campers; it has a blue and grey color with black stripe patterns. It possesses feet more similar to crocodiles but with webbed feet and sharp claws. Long jaws and needle-sharp teeth. Its greyish green eyes looked down towards a surprised Celestia. The Prehistoric Predators were about to attack but halted when Kendall stopped them.
"Wait!"
"Wha-Kendall! That thing is close to Celestia!" Yaz said to her fellow camper.
"I know but look!" Kendall points at the curious Nothosaurus.
Instead of being aggressive, the Nothosaurus simply sniffed at Celestia, having a weird yet strange scent of both human and an unknown familiar species. The Nothosaurus then tilted its head in a curious manner while Celestia stared at it with wide eyes. The silver-haired girl lifts her hand up with no signs of hesitation and gently strokes the Nothosaurus's snout, which earned small purrs from the marine reptile. Upon seeing this display, everyone calms down, knowing very well that this dino has been tame. With a sigh of relief, the group returned to the mini drone that was hacking in the system and stealing info from the database. Celestia made sure to keep the Nothosaurus in bay, hoping it won't cause trouble. When the mini drone finishes doing its job, it leads the group to another area, with the Nothosaurus following them since it took a liking to Celestia, and because she gave it a name, which is Swampy.
They ventured through the tunnel until they found another platform that would lift them up to a biome. This particular platform brought the group to the Tropical Swamp Biome. It was foggy and damp, but it was the only way to be far from the drones. They walk through the swampy grounds until seconds later, a Dilophosaurus jumps out from the bushes, chirping at them. Ben, Yaz, and Hudson yelped in fear as they quickly hid behind Kendall. She quickly assures that this Dilophosaurus was a friend that she and Val encountered. The Dilophosaurus greeted them with serious chirps and whistles, which Celestia understood, and asked if the Dilophosaurus could help them find a place to hide. And the Dilophosaurus agreed, but first, I wanted to show them something. You see, it and its pack found something big on the deep side of the swamp. They followed the Dilophosaurus through the undergrowth and came to a halt when they appeared to be clearing, surrounded by trees. The other members of the Dilophosaurus's pack came, greeting their member and the friends of Val.
"Wonder why they brought us here?" Yaz whispers to Kendall.
Kendall simply shrugged, "I am not certain, but I think they found-" Kendall cut herself off when she heard a familiar series of clicks and growls, recognizing who it belonged to, Kendall and Celestia beamed in relief. "Celtic?"
The campers became confused by this until something appeared behind them. Slowly turning around, they almost screamed at the sight of an 8 1/2 inches tall alien, staring down at them under his mask. Luckily, Kendall and Celestia were there to prevent any casualties.
"Celtic!" Celestia rushed over to the massive alien.
The Yautja knelt down, embracing the young pup. Kendall went towards him with a relieved smile on her face, "It's good to see you, Celtic." Kendall said in a relieved tone. The Yautja made a series of clicks and purrs, standing up and gently stroking Kendall's head gently.
"Is this...one of your alien friends?" Yaz asked Kendall with wide eyes.
"Yes, everyone this is Celtic," Kendall introduces, gesturing to the alien hunter, bowing at them as a greeting. "Wait, how did you even get here?"
"Because he had help."
They all turned back and were surprised to see Dark Twilight, Marco, Owen, Barry, and two more Yautjas (Chopper and Ahraan) coming out of nowhere. Celestia smiles and quickly rushes to Owen, who smiles back, and quickly picks her up, spinning her around.
"Uncle Owen!" Celestia cries happily.
"C! Oh, thank God you didn't get captured!" Owen said in relief, hugging her tightly.
"But Val was!" Celestia said in panic, "Uberto was there...and...and I think Kenji's dad is also involved...the others...they were also captured and...and...hic..."
"Hey, hey, sshh-sshh...it's okay, it's okay, we're gonna get them, don't worry." Owen hushed and calmly held Celestia tightly, "We've gotta plan."
"We?" Hudson asked in confusion.
"You think we're the only ones here?" Marco gestures to them to follow, which they did.
The group carefully followed the adults to the clearing, only to be in shock to see how they disappeared in thin air. They weren't sure how but when they entered, they found themselves face to face with a huge airship! The newcomers' mouths dropped at the sight while Kendall and Celestia simply stared, knowing that their caretakers brought the cavalry.
"Wow! You brought an army!?" Yaz asked in shock.
"Yup, and don't worry, the Yautjas won't hurt ya. They're gonna hurt only those mercenaries." Dark explains to the kids, "We also have been on watch, finding out that both Mortem Jr. and Kon are planning to invite three investors to the island."
"What, why?" Yaz asked, following the adults inside the ship, amazed to see other aliens inside.
"To promote a new type of medicine, a medicine that can cure all known illnesses, viruses, deformation, you name it." Archie said, coming over them when they reach the control room, "Uberto and Kon agreed to reengineer Project Alpha to create a new type of medicine that can be sold for billions of people in need, as well as witnessing her abilities."
"Wait, you mean they're going to make Val talk with the dinosaurs?" Ben asked in shock. "And force her to make them fight?"
"No, they want her to demonstrate her communication with dinosaurs, and how she controls them." Archie explains Uberto and Daniel's plan, "They believe they can control life like gods."
"And not caring about the consequences of their actions, believe me, I know." Wu said, joining in the conversation.
"How do you know these things?" Yaz asked them.
"We have a good look out." Dark said, gesturing to Butler zooming in.
:Greetings!:
"Butler!" Celestia, Yaz, Hudson, and Ben cheered happily.
"That's right, thanks to Butler here; we were able to find out the plan of Uberto and Daniel beforehand. And we put a plan in motion."
She explains to them that she and Owen are going to pose as Mitch & Tiff (the kidnappers that tried to get Val and the other campers), already stole their memories and plans, thanks to Devlin (their witch friend). By using a disguise spell, they can be the two game hunters. That way, they can sneak in and spy on the group and save the kids. The three major investors known as Cyrus, Lana Molina, and Mr. Gold. Dark learns that one of these investors, aka Lana Molina, a supposed representative for BioSyn. However, after Dark's recent spy mission about finding BioSyn dark secrets, she learns that Lana Molina is actually a thieving backstabber. As it turns out, Lana Molina plans to betray for her own gain by trying to steal BioSyn's information that would make her a fortune at the black market. Of course, Dark recorded Lana Molina's plan and will use this hard evidence soon.
They set up scouts around the island, putting them into place, finding any information and weak points of the island. The campers stayed safe on the ship while the adults discussed the plan. Marco will be sneaking into the facility with the Yautja's camouflage technology, so he could sneak into the control room, and steal all the information there and evidence. Assisting him in this task are Aeliana Zakynthos and Destiny.
That way, they can take down both Serpenti Neri and Mantah Corp with no problem.
"Don't worry, Celestia, they'll get Val and the others back." Kendall assures the little dragon.
The campers and the baby dinos were in a medical room, being checked by Wu and Archie. They were making sure that they didn't sustain any known injuries.
Celestia simply nodded her head, "I...I just wish I could help."
"You no need to worry, C, everyone is doing their best." Yaz said to Celestia.
Celestia didn't respond as she looked down to the ground, still saddened by not being able to do anything. Celestia's mind came to a halt when she saw Lex Woods coming over with Ahraan. "Hi, Ms. Woods. Hi, Ahraan." She greeted the two adults.
Lex smiles at Celestia kindly, "Hello, Celestia, how are you and your friends holding up?"
"So far, so good, but I would be better if I could help out." Celestia said truthfully, feeling worried about her sister and friends.
"You don't need to be worried, Celestia, we'll get them. Just have faith." Lex assures Celestia with a small smile, which Celestia returns. Lex then notices Ben, Yaz, and Hudson looking at her, "Hello."
"Um...hi..." Yaz greeted a bit shyly, looking at Lex and then to Ahraan with an unsure look.
Noticing this, Lex couldn't help but smile, "Shock that I'm with an alien?"
"Yeah...I mean...kind of?" Ben was the one that answered hesitantly, "It's kinda hard to understand the fact that you married an alien and had two kids with him."
Lex chuckled while Ahraan simply tilted his head, "Well, it's kind of a surprise for me as well. I never imagined myself marrying an extraterrestrial, but here I am, married to him and have two wonderful sons."
"Speaking of your sons...where are they?" Hudson was the one who asked.
"They are being watched by our allies on a secret island," Ahraan explains to them, which Yaz, Ben, and Hudson have no idea of understanding.
Luckily, Lex could understand her husband's language now, and translated to the children. "He said our sons are being taken care of by our allies." And the campers nodded in understanding.
"Damn, this thing is itchy!" They heard Owen's voice from the hall, followed by Dark's voice.
"Quit whining and suck it up!"
The metal doors opened to reveal Owen and Dark, disguised as both Mitch and Tiff. Their disguises were so realistic; they look like the real deal.
"Uncle Owen?" Celestia asked in surprise.
Owen, who is disguised as Mitch, smiles at her, "Yeah, I know, I'm not in my best-looking self," he joked, making Celestia giggle at his antique while Dark, disguised as Tiff, rolled her eyes at him.
"So, that's what our kidnappers looked like?" Hudson asked, pointing out the disguise of both Owen and Dark.
"Yup, Mitch & Tiff are both illegal game hunters, killing rare and endangered species of animals. Heck, they tried to sneak into Isla Sorna once to hunt dinos there, and nearly got caught by the coast guards there."
"So, since you two are posing as them, you guys can easily sneak into the facility." Ben said in realization.
"Hell yeah, we're gonna make sure that we get everyone out of there, and thanks to Butler and his drones, we can hack into the security systems with no problem." Owen said with a grin.
"How are you guys going to show up there?" Yaz asked.
"We still have their boat." Dark answered casually, "We're going there tonight and pose as the two game hunters. That way, we'll find all the info about them, and expose those bastards to the authorities, and put them away to prison."
"Wait...what about Kenji?" Celestia suddenly asked them. "If his dad goes to prison...what's gonna happen to him?"
"Well...Kenji doesn't have any ideas about his dad's criminal ties with Mortem Sr...The law is gonna go easy on him." Dark explains to Celestia and the campers. "They will place him in protective custody and put him in a foster family. Hopefully a good one."
"Either way, we have to keep an eye on him." Marco said, coming in the room with a serious look, "I have a feeling that Kenji would seek his father's praise and attention, even if it means betraying us."
"That is why I place a false truth spell on him." Dark said to Marco calmly, "If Kenji tries to say important information like say about the Scorpios rex siblings; he'll say the exact opposite."
"He'll probably say he saw two scorpions." Kendall realizes what Dark means.
Dark nodded her head, "Yup, that's the plan. Now, you guys stay here and rest, Owen and I are going to get in the facility."
And their plan came into motion.
Val was sitting on the bed of a luxurious room, sitting on her knees, on top of a king size bed, wearing a white nightgown. Daniel Kon provided it along with other outfits. She just got herself cleaned, thanks to Mae. The Behavioural Paleoneurobiologist was drying Val's brown hair with a clean towel after giving her bath. She needed it after what she had been through on the island. Mae felt sorry for her. Val is suffering a trauma with her last encounter with Uberto, and she almost witnesses him killing Brooklynn. Mae will do anything in her power to keep her safe, as well as finding a way to get them all out of the island. The problem is, they're being watched by a man named Hap and a BRAD-X. Hap was in the room, leaning against the wall with arms crossed while the BRAD-X was outside, guarding the door, preventing anyone from getting in or out of the room. Mae didn't appreciate this. Val is already terrified enough as it is, they shouldn't be treating her like some sort of prisoner. But it couldn't be helped. They're in the mercy of two dangerous businessmen that would end anyone if some dares crossed them.
"So...how's she holding up?" The man named Hap asked Mae.
Mae finishes drying Val's hair as she sets the towel down, "Other than being threatened with her life and her friends, I'm not sure if she's even alright now." Mae said in a sarcastic tone, clearly stating that Val is traumatized because of Uberto and Daniel.
"I was just asking, that's all," Hap said to Mae, which earned a sigh from the Behavioural Paleoneurobiologist.
"I would appreciate it if you didn't have to bring a weapon." Mae points out towards Hap's rifle on his back.
"No can do," Hap said to Mae calmly, causing Mae to frown at the guide.
"I..." Val somehow mutters out, and the adults look at her, still looking down on her hands, "I...don't mind..."
Mae's eyes soften towards Val, knowing very well Val didn't want her to get into trouble with the guide. Before she could assure the girl, they heard a knock from the door. The two adults turned and watched as the door opened to reveal Kenji carrying a tray of delicious foods that are suitable for a vegan.
"Kenji? What are you doing here?" Mae asked the teen, carrying the tray of food.
"Oh, just dropping by to give Val her dinner." Kenji said to Mae, walking in the room with a tray of food. He placed the tray in front of Val, who stared at it blankly. "Here ya go, Val! Eat up."
Val didn't respond nor took a bite, she was too lost in thought on the situation, almost witnessing Uberto trying to kill Brooklynn if she didn't cooperate. Kenji made a worried look, thinking that Val didn't like the food.
"What's wrong? You don't like it?" Kenji asked.
"Kenji, I think she's still in shock." Mae said to the teen.
"Sorry, it's just...I thought she might be hungry." Kenji said to Mae.
"She'll eat in her own time, Kenji, just let her rest for a bit." Mae informs Kenji.
"Yeah, but she needs to get her game on tomorrow." Kenji said.
Mae looks at him in confusion. "What's on tomorrow's agenda?"
"Oh, after dinner, my dad said that there'll be some investors coming."
"What do you mean?" Mae questions him, feeling dread to her body.
"They want to see Val in action." Kenji replied.
Mae lets out a gasp and Val's eyes widen in shock by this sudden information, "Wha-Kenji! You can't allow Val to do that!"
"I know! I know! It's wrong, but my dad wants this to happen! He wants Val's DNA to make this medicine and prove to investors that we can coexist with the dinosaurs."
Mae sighs as she guides Kenji out of Val's earshot; giving Kenji a stern lecture of what he is doing is wrong. Val didn't bother to listen. She was too scared of what was happening now and she didn't bother to think about Kenji's words. Her mind was somewhere else, she was thinking about Celestia, Kendall, Redford, the other campers, the dinosaurs, and her family. They're probably worried sick about them. She fiddles her hands and prays for their safety, hoping to get out of here.
She wasn't aware that Hap was watching her, looking at her from head to toe. He wonders why this little carries such a rare serum that can cure anything? Moreover, how come she doesn't even use it in the first place? What's in it that could make two billionaires go to extreme lengths to get to her?
"Hey, kid?" Hap suddenly spoke, looking at Val. The little girl didn't lift her head as she was too focused on looking at her hands. But Hap knew that she was listening, "Why do you have that thing called...um...Project Alpha?" Val didn't respond, she was too upset on what's happening. Hap lets out a sigh of frustration, rubbing his forehead, clearly not getting any information from this girl.
Hap walked over to Val and sat next to her, "Look, kid, I really don't know what's going on here, but all I know is that it has to do something with this serum or even if it is safe to use." Again, Val was silent, clearly not showing her trust towards this man. "I know you don't trust me, but I don't trust these men trying to make a medicine out of a kid's DNA."
Hearing that part, Val glanced towards Hap, who was looking at the door, not making eye contact. Val could tell that he isn't one of those men that were going to hurt and her friends. Looking at him even further, she could see a hint of worry in his eyes, as if he knew that she and her friends don't belong here...worried for them in secret. Val isn't sure if she should tell him, but her gut tells her that she needs to make some allies, even if one works for the enemy.
"...The serum is powerful." Val replied, catching the game guide by surprise.
"Come again?" Hap looks at her in confusion.
"My...mommy created this serum to help the world to be a better place, to heal the sick and wounded...making them feel better." Val answered softly, looking down at her hands, "The serum can be used for good, but if people try to use it to do something bad...there could be bad side effects."
Hap looked at her with slightly wide eyes, "What side effects?"
"I don't know if I should be telling you this but...sometimes Project Alpha won't heal certain people."
"Like?"
"Bad people or those who are not worthy to be healed," Val answered softly, "The serum can only heal the ones who are good, not the bad."
"So...if what you're saying is true, then if someone tries to...I don't know...try to reengineer it...it won't heal everyone that isn't good?" Hap asked, slowly understanding the serum's purpose.
Val nodded her head, "Yes, but Dr. Wu said that Project Alpha can also be dangerous sometimes, if someone tries to use it...bad things happen and could corrupt them. That's why they're trying their best to keep me safe, finding a way to help me control my gift rather than using it wrongly."
"...So that's why..." Hap whispers out. He slowly understood that her gift was not to be used in public, and side effects could be critical. He can't imagine the thought of the consequences if the serum was used wrongly. However, if she refuses to cooperate with this operation, then she'll suffer the consequences of losing her friends. And Hap can't allow that. Because unknown to his superiors, he didn't care about the money. He only cares right now is to get her, Mae, and the other kids out of here.
"I know you don't want to use your gift but...I don't think you have a choice." Hap said, causing Val to look at him, "You see...the bosses here, they're gonna have some people to witness your gift right?" Val nodded her head at Hap, "I have a feeling if you don't put a good show on...I think your friends will...you know...might get hurt in the process."
"I know...and I'm going to regret it one day." Val whispers out.
A gentle hand was placed onto Val's head, surprising the girl. Val looks up to see it was Hap was the one who placed his hand onto her head, which surprised her. She wasn't sure if her eyes were placing tricks on her, but she could've sworn that his eyes became soft.
"I know, but...you'll pull through, just stay strong." Hap said to Val, sounding assuring her.
Val just stared at him with wide eyes. Completely speechless about his words. Unlike the mercenaries, Hap was different. He wasn't like them, that's for sure. And she could clearly see that he really wants her safe as well as the others.
And she has to do it, for their sake and safety.
Kenji and Mae came back after the long lecture; they didn't expect to hear from Val that she's going to show her gift to the investors. Mae was in shock to hear this while Kenji was over the moon! With Val's corporation, his dad will surely be happy about this. Kenji talks about the plan for tomorrow while Val eats her meal in silence whilst Mae stays by the little girl's side, keeping her company. Hap listens from the sidelines, finding the boy's constant obsession of getting his father's attention was a bit unorthodox.
Hap then heard a knock from the door. He went over to the door while the others watched as he opened it, revealing a BRAD-X outside, holding a hanger that had a pink dress, which was covered by a plastic bag.
:The dress for tomorrow's evening event.: The BRAD-X informs Hap.
Hap frowns at the machine and takes the hanger, "Mm-hmm...Uh-huh..."
:Both you and Dr. Turner must return back to work. In addition, tomorrow, all employees and workers must wear proper attire for the eve-:
SLAM!
Hap rudely closes the door in the BRAD-X's robotic face, not bothering to let the machine finish, "Yeah, yeah," Muttered Hap, walking over to Mae and handing Val's clothes to her, "Here."
Mae nodded and took the clothes from his hand, "Thank you." She whispers before looking at Val kindly, "Ok, Val, we're going to leave you here, can you be fine by yourself?"
Val didn't want them to leave. She was too scared to even think of being alone here, considering Uberto would probably find a way to get in here and experiment with her in her sleep. But if they don't do as they were told, they'll be in trouble because of her. She assures them that she'll be fine as Mae tucks her to bed while she, Hap, and Kenji leave the room to do their task, leaving Val alone whilst the BRAD-X guards the outside of her door. Val prays that her family and friends could save her and bring them home safe.
As Val enters a dreamless sleep, she isn't aware that she's being watched from the trees. Marco and some Yautjas. They were watching from a safe distance to find a way to break into the facility. Marco uses advanced looking binoculars, seeing through the walls and finding all floors. Marco made sure to make mental notes to which room and floor that was keeping Val. Marco put down his binoculars and placed a finger on his ear, where the communicator is, and said; "We found Val's room, top floor, VIP suite, to the right."
:Got it, thanks Marco.: Owen replied through the communicator, :Dark and I are close to port.:
"Copy that," Marco replied before changing the channel to another source, "Ryder? Zakynthos? Do you copy?"
He was contacting Lillian Verona Ryder and Aeliana Zakynthos at the docks. The two women hide among the undergrowth, away from cameras and the robots. They easily blended through the surroundings and watched as the ship that Dark and Owen used to go here was coming near.
"Dark and Owen are heading this way." Aeliana said to Marco through the communicator.
Lillian uses the binoculars she brought to spy on the mercenaries at the dock, "There are some mercenaries there, awaiting for their arrival."
"They will be expecting Mitch and Tiff," Said Aeliana, looking closely as the ship made it to docks.
They watched as Dark and Owen, disguised as Mitch and Tiff, walked out of the ship and towards the men. The leader of the Mercenaries, Hawkes, was there, greeted them in a monotone yet cold tone. Lillian and Aeliana observe how easily Dark and Owen tricked the mercenaries thinking to believe that they were really the two game hunter couples. Dark made an easy performance as Tiff while Owen did his best to act all cocky and goofy yet obnoxious.
They used a special device to hear their conversation. Hawkes was asking them what took them so long. Owen, using the voice of Mitch, said that it was hard to fix a broken engine in the middle of the ocean, which they believed. Hawkes explained that the girl, aka Val, is here along with some campers. They will search for the rest of the campers soon, as well as informing them that they will be keeping an eye on the kids, so they won't cause any problems when the investors come. Dark and Owen found an opportunity to get the kids out of there, as well as saving Val. However, they have to play their cards right in order to do so. They followed the mercenaries to the jungle where they entered the building. There, they learned that Hap is their guide and was asking them what took the couple so long. Of course, Dark as Tiff made the explanation while Owen didn't say much, unless he made snarky remarks. Once they were in the clear, Dark informed the rest about the areas and asked someone to research about this Hap person. She has suspicion that this man doesn't want to be here with the other mercenaries. Dark had to keep Owen cool since he almost snapped at Hawke when he mentions Val will be presenting herself tomorrow for the investors, showing her ability, making Owen's blood boil. Wanting to sic his raptors at them for forcing his niece to use her powers unwillingly.
And they will make sure to save them before it is too late.
I want to thank the crocodilesmile55 for the Yutyrannus idea in the story. The Tarbosaurus came from a Netflix interactive special called Jurassic World Camp Cretaceous: Hidden Adventure. It took me a while to find a way to win it during my break, but it was worth it.
