Chapter 12 More to Kira Than Meets the Eye

Morning's light came in through the window of the hotel room. Blackwargreymon was the first to rise as the sun's rays poured out along his back. Blackwargreymon slowly rose as to not awake Kira and stretched. As his arms fell he looked over to his still sleeping partner. He had a feeling because of yesterdays events that she would sleep in today. Of coarse this did not bother him, he was more surprised at her stamina to take such a blow. While to him a Gazimon scratch was nothing, but to a human a Gazimon's claws were sharp and if aimed properly deadly. After all humans were not built to take on battles like the digimon were. Blackwargreymon had been very surprised by Kira. One that she preferred to protect herself instead of allowing him too. Another was she chose to battle along side him even though she was unsure of the outcome. Now Kira had received a no doubt painful wound and was embarrassed that she had received it. As his thoughts raced he heard a small grunt. Focusing on Kira he saw her shift a little and settle back down. This caused her tank top to shift downward exposing her back a bit more. Blackwargreymon then noticed she had something black between her shoulder blades. It was still mostly covered up so he could not quite see. Curiosity getting the better of him he raised a claw and gently pulled down her tank more. Revealing was a black mark that looked to be in the shape of a dragon. It had no arms or legs, just a head, lines and the wings. Before Blackwargreymon could think further Kira shifted again. Blackwargreymon pulled back in time for Kira to flip over and slowly start to open her eyes. Getting up and stretching she let out a small grunt and let her arms down. She then noticed Blackwargreymon looking over to her.

"Oh good morning Blackwargreymon, hope I didn't make you wait too long."

"No, I have not been up long. I figured with the day you had yesterday you would sleep in longer."

"Well guess it helped I was in a soft bed for once."

"Makes sense."

Kira noticed his tone was a bit off. Getting out of bed on his side she asked. "Is there something wrong?"

Realizing he had been staring he shook his head. "No sorry, guess I was lost in my thoughts is all."

"Oh ok. So what's on the to do list today? We going to go ahead and travel?"

"No, you need at least a day of rest to help heal your wound. So today we shall just hang around town."

"Oh well if you say so. Mind if I get a shower before we do?"

"Go on ahead. Take your time I am going to run an errand of my own. Meet me outside of the hotel when you are done."

"Oh well ok then." Kira then grabbed her tee and went to the bathroom. Blackwargreymon put on his armor and made his way outside.

While in the shower Kira's mind was once again racing. Wonder what was on his mind that could have had him staring off and distance like that? Hmm maybe it was just the battle yesterday. He probably feels bad that I got hurt. Huh if only he knew that wasn't the worst I have received. But he doesn't need to know that. He knows I fought but he doesn't realize the pain I had to go through to receive my reputation. O well I don't think details are necessary, besides he'd only pity me. That is the last thing I want.

As her thoughts finished so did her shower. She got dried off and dressed and came out of the bathroom. Blackwargreymon was gone so she did what he instructed. Walking outside she was greeted by the warmth of the sun as well as its light. Raising her hand she blocked the sun and looked for Blackwargreymon. She found him as he was coming towards her.

"Feel better?" he asked coming up to her.

"Much thanks. So what now?"

"Now it is time to get you some breakfast. I am sure you are hungry."

Hearing her stomach growl she quietly laughed. "Well cant argue with that. Lead the way."

With that Kira followed Blackwargreymon farther into town. Neither one noticing the pair of eyes of a Gazimon that followed them in the bushes.
