The camera opens up to a shot of heavy rain falling from dark clouded skies. The rain poured down onto the island of Wawanawkwa, causing massive puddles of water to form all around the campgrounds.
At the boys' cabin, Geoff was leaning against the railing, watching the rain. Harold was meanwhile sitting on the porch steps, playing a handheld video game that he had somehow smuggled into the camp for so long. Noah and Tyler were present as well, doing push-ups and reading in a chair respectively.
The intercom suddenly squeaked into power mode, and Chris' voice managed to be heard over the pounding rain. "Listen up, campers. Due to the recent call for more rain in the Muskoka area, tomorrow's challenge will be the most dreaded of summer camp activities: the boring as all heck arts and crafts' day."
The intercom screeched back into silence, as Tyler got up from his push-up's. "Seriously, arts and crafts? You'd think they'd really push us to the brink for one of the final challenges."
"Well, I for one am happy that we aren't doing any death defying stunts for tomorrow's challenge.", said Noah, putting down his book and standing up. "The worst anyone can get tomorrow is a papercut."
He yawned and stretched. "I'm going to hit the hay." He went to the door, and entered the cabin. Tyler soon followed.
Geoff was about to follow as well, when he looked at the girls' side. "Hey, do you think Courtney heard the announcement? The rain's so loud."
Harold scratched at his chin. "Don't know. She hasn't come out of the girls' cabin all day." The two boys shrugged at each other.
The camera cut to Courtney inside the girls' cabin, relaxing on her bed and reading a book. She yawned and stretched, putting down her book, before looking about the cabin.
"Oh, I'm sorry, Eva, did you want to argue with me? Or Sadie and Beth, do you want to keep me up with your inane babbling?", she said, to the empty cabin. "No? Oh, that's right, nobody's here, but me." She laughed pleasantly to herself.
(Courtney): It's so... awesome that I got the cabin all to myself for the next few challenges. Finally, some peace and quiet...
Courtney yawned once again, her eyelids becoming heavy, before she turned over in bed, falling asleep. The camera panned out of the cabin, and showed the lights from both cabins going out.
The camera cut to the dead of night, where the rain had gotten so heavy, that little streams of water were making their way towards the lake. A few cuts later, and the little streams had become a roaring river. With twin huge groans, the cabins were eventually lifted off their foundations to float into the lake.
Daytime. The two cabins that housed the boys and girls respectively of Camp Wawanawkwa were now floating down the lake, creaking and groaning as the current pushed them along.
The door to the girls' cabin opened with a creak, revealing Courtney. She sighed to herself, her eyes closed, as she walked out onto the porch, wearing her bikini and carrying a towel. No doubt she was preparing for an early morning swim in the lake.
She stepped off the porch... and splashed into the lake, much earlier than she expected. Her bobbed up out of the water, her face shocked. "What? What?! What's going on?!", she yelled, her voice carrying over the lake.
This had the effect of waking up the boys' cabin. Geoff and Noah walked out of the cabin, both rubbing their eyes. "You know, I don't think I ordered a wake up call from the likes of you, Courtney.", said Noah, harshly.
"Woah!", said Geoff, pulling up short from falling into the lake. He reached out a hand to block Noah from doing the same.
Harold and Tyler, hearing Geoff's yelp, both stuck their heads out of the cabin, their eyes going wide at the sight of the lake. "Like, where are we?", said Harold.
"Dunno.", said Tyler, scratching the side of his head. "It appears we're in the lake, though."
"Thank you, Tyler.", said Noah, sardonically. "We would've never figured that out."
"Hey, I think I can touch the bottom.", said Courtney. Indeed, she was now standing up in the water.
"Look!", said Harold, and pointed to an island they were heading to.
Soon, both cabins had washed up on the shore of said island. The campers had all departed, and were making some interesting discoveries on the beach.
"Are these... dinosaur bones?", said Courtney, picking up a particularly big bone. Ture enough, there were gigantic skulls and bones littered on the island.
"Yeah, that's a Triceratops and that's a Tyrannosaurus.", said Harold, pointing at the biggest skulls on the beach. "But what are they all doing here, and not underground?"
"Harold, dude, they're props.", said Noah. He knocked at the bones, revealing a hollow like sound. "Plus, most of the plants on this beach are potted. I bet these rocks are hollow as well."
He kicked a nearby rock, and cried in pain. "OK, this one's real."
"Well, this certainly reeks of Chris.", said Courtney. "I bet this is today's challenge. Survive on a deserted island, or, better yet, find our way back to camp."
"That does certainly sound like Chris.", said Tyler, as Geoff and Harold murmured in agreement.
Noah, however, looked unsure. "I don't know, guys. Normally, I'd agree, what with the whole jungle aesthetic going on on this beach, but how did Chris create a huge rainstorm last night that flushed us out onto the lake. I mean, you guys were there yesterday; you saw all the dark clouds, thunder, and lightning."
Harold scratched his chin. "That's a good point. But I wouldn't put it past Chris to turn this into a challenge."
"Perhaps, but I think I'll take my chances here, waiting for a rescue attempt.", said Noah. "You guys go on a wild adventure back to camp; I'll stay here, and catch up on reading." He walked back to the cabin to get one of his books.
"All right, so do you think we should stay together?", said Geoff to the others. "This is the wilderness."
"Ha! Are you kidding?", said Courtney. "We're not in teams anymore, this is the merge. Which means it's every girl for herself." She then picked up a long, staff-like stick from the beach. "See you at the campgrounds, boys."
Once Courtney had walked off, Harold began to get excited.
(Harold): Noah's not the only camper who has training in the scouts. I'm an assistant scout master back at home. Time to unleash my wicked survival training.
"I don't want to brag or anything, but I also have training in the scouts, like Noah.", said Harold. "And if you guys want to form a temporary alliance with me, I'll be happy to lead us home."
"Sounds good, bro.", said Geoff, as he and Tyler high-fived Harold.
Back at the campgrounds, Chris and Chef walked out onto the main grounds. They took particular interest in the squares of dead grass and dirt where the cabins had previously been.
"So, Chef? We seem to be missing two cabins.", said Chris. "As well as five campers."
"Should we mount a rescue attempt?", said Chef.
A moment passed, before the two men started howling with laughter. "I think we could spin this unfortunate episode into a brand new challenge.", said Chris. "First person who finds their way back to camp wins?"
"Sounds pretty entertaining to me.", said Chef, with a devilish grin.
"So, you want to grab a bite to eat from craft services?", said Chris, as Chef nodded his head eagerly.
The camera cut to Harold, Geoff, and Tyler walking through the woods. "Can't we pick up the pace?", complained Tyler. "Wouldn't we get there faster if we, you know, run?"
"One should never run in an unfamiliar, woodland environment.", explained Harold. "You could trip and injure yourself or step on a rattlesnake. Plus, we would attract creatures like bears."
Geoff shrugged at Tyler. "Makes sense to me."
Tyler clutched at his stomach, finding something else to complain about. "I'm hungry. Do you think you could hunt us some lunch, Harold, my man?"
"Uh, I don't... have the supplies to do that.", said Harold, chuckling nervously.
(Harold): I kind of missed most of the classes dealing with hunting. (whispers) Along with some other ones...
Tyler looked about, seeing a bush full of red berries. "Well, what about those berries?"
"No! Those are poisonous... I think?", said Harold.
Tyler, who had just been about to reach for one, flinched. "What do you mean you think?"
Harold ignored this, and looked around, seeing a bush full of multi-colored berries. "Those should be good.", he said, uncertainly.
Half-an-hour later, Tyler, having eaten a bunch of the berries, had a predicament. His face had swollen up to an unnatural, re-colored degree.
"Does it look... really bad?", said Tyler, slightly muffled due to the swelling.
"Uh, no?", said Geoff, cringing visibly. He turned to Harold. "Dude, could this be because of those berries?"
"Uh, nonsense, I know my way around a forest. It's probably just allergies... from poison oak or something.", explained Harold, still looking uncertain. Geoff raised a suspicious eyebrow at his friend.
"L-let's keep going?", said Harold, walking off to avoid further conversation.
The camera cut to Courtney, still trudging along through the forest with her staff. She was eating from a handful of red berries she had found. She stopped in her tracks, and studied the sky. Apparently coming to the conclusion that she was going the right way, she continued on.
Cut to Harold's trio, where Harold was studying the sky as well... but going in the exact opposite direction of Courtney.
Geoff and Tyler, who had walked past Harold while the latter studied the sky, were about to head into a deep thicket of foliage. "Don't worry, guys, we should be heading in the right direction now.", said Harold, confidently. "Nothing but more forest ahead."
Geoff and Tyler looked at each other, followed by Geoff walking through the foliage. A yelp later effectively wiped the smirk off of Harold's face.
Harold and Tyler walked forward to see that the 'forest' gave way to a steep incline onto a rocky beach. They had been heading right back to the coastline!
Geoff was at the bottom of the incline, his leg at an unusual and painful angle. "Oh, I'm so sorry, Geoff!", said Harold.
"Can you just set my leg?", said Geoff, irritably. "You should have learned that in the scouts."
Harold sucked in through his teeth. "I kind of... missed that lesson."
Geoff and Tyler glared at the dweeb.
Cut to Courtney climbing up a cliff-like incline. She competently grabs hold of various rocks jutting out from the dirt ground, pulling herself up further along.
Back at the beach, Noah has moved to the Tyrannosaurus skull, leaning back in the shade of its mouth as he read. As he turned a page, he glanced up and noticed something in the distance. He gets up and walks towards it.
It is eventually revealed to be a rather large bungalow situated in a small, fat tree. Noah looks at it in puzzlement. "What is this? Chris' treehouse summer home?" He shrugged to himself, then went back to the cabin to grab his stuff.
"Better than being out here on the sand."
The camera then cuts to a montage of Harold, Geoff, and Tyler trying to survive out in the wilderness, juxtaposed with various scenes of Courtney having a comfortable time out in the wild.
Harold, Tyler and Geoff (using two sticks as crutches) walk through a patch of poison ivy, fall out of a tree while finding their bearings, and get chased out of a cave by a grizzly bear.
Courtney, despite being generally more competent than Harold, is still dirty and tired near afternoon's end. She continued to trek through the jungle, eventually brushing past a patch of foliage to find...
Chris and Chef, lounging in twin chairs next to a buffet table and trailers. Courtney gasped and rushed to the buffet, stuffing her face with food.
Not recognizing her, Chris said, "Hey. Hey! Get your own buffet table, forest dude!" Courtney turned to face him, glaring, causing Chris to finally recognize her.
"Courtney!?", said Chris, shocked. Recovering himself, he put on his smile. "Congratulations! You are the winner of today's challenge Courtney. Now, before we head back to camp, let's find the rest of the campers."
Hours later, nearing sunset, a helicopter touches down near Harold, Geoff, and Tyler, who are resting hopelessly on a large rock in the woods.
"Finally!", said Chris, as he hopped out of the copter. "We thought we'd never find you."
Chris then took a good look at the three campers, and balked. The threesome's clothes were in tatters, bruises and scratches covered their bodies, and Tyler's swelling had only gotten worse. "What-what happened to you guys?", said Chris. "We also tracked your path through the jungle; why were you going in a complete circle all day?"
Geoff and Tyler glared harshly at Harold.
(Harold): (pause) I missed quite a few lessons.
Chris began counting the three campers, scratched his chin in puzzlement when he was done, then smiled brightly. "Well, I think that's everyone."
Cut to Noah, still in the bungalow, lightly chuckling at an amusing book.
Back at camp, nighttime had fallen, and the four campers were seated at the elimination ceremony.
"Well, you've all cast your votes and made your decisions.", said Chris, holding his plate of four marshmallows. "The first marshmallows go to... Courtney, Geoff, and Noah!"
Courtney and Geoff caught their marshmallows, but the third treat hit an empty stump. "Does anyone know where Noah is?", asked Chris.
Jump cut to Noah asleep in the bungalow, a pile of books beside him.
Chris shrugged. "Moving on. The final marshmallow goes to...
...
... Tyler!" Tyler whooped... or as much as he could with a swollen mouth. Harold sighed, and stood up. "Well, it's been fun guys. Hope I see you in another life." He walked off into the night.
