A/N: Alright, so I've been taking some time to look at the old version of SMYT and as I've been reading it, I've honestly had a hard time trying to continue the story the way I originally wrote it. (All those years ago.) And I understand that a lot of you, who have been following the story will be upset and disappointed because its what drew you all in. Yes I've had a good laugh at the humour in it but knowing how the Teen Wolf series has panned out I'm struggling to incorporate and create parallels. I've even hunted around my old laptop and my hand written stories to find my old notes and plots for this story and yeah, I'm really struggling to keep it the way it is.

There's no completely huge changes, only the background history and persona of my OC and the fact that I'm thinking of not only making her love interest Deputy Jordan Parrish but also keeping with the original love interest which was, if the original follows can remember Derek Hale. Problem I'm having is that Derek's character has a lot more depth to him now, he's grown and matured since season two. Plus Derek has become a lesser character, if you understand my meaning. I'll clear it up, we've seen less and less of Derek after awhile, mainly when the introduced Kira and killed off Allison furthermore allowing for Isaac to leave as well.

Which is why I wanted to focus more on Jordan but it's going to be gradual seeing as he has a better connection with Lydia, what with them being on the same supernatural wave length. So the gradual burn will allow for Derek to spark interest in my OC before Jordan kind of clears his vision and sees her properly.

Also if people want to get involved, got a little voting system for yous, I'm not too sure when I'm going to bring this in, let alone if I'm 100% sure that I'm actually going to make her supernatural or not, what would your thoughts be? If I were to make Madison a supernatural being. My thinking is, is that she's either turned by Scott to become his Beta werewolf. A Kitsuné but this is brought out by the Oni, which will be parallel with the story but she'll be different to Kira. A Banshee due to the amount of deaths in her life, I know this is different to how it happens with Lydia but I thought I could make Madison a Reaper Banshee, its still early days and an idea in my head but then I thought it would be an interesting way to make a relationship out of. And last, a Chimera. I was thinking along the lines of a Hellhound, this could create a better relationship with Madison and Jordan, seeing as Jordan at a later point in the story will still be getting to grips with his powers and therefore can help her along the way but it would also create another subplot with the Dread Doctors. Having a Hellhound to track another Hellhound so they can protect the Beast of Gévaudan from him. By using something against her? Leverage maybe.

If you want to get involved then just leave a review, on not just how much you like this chapter but to also give your vote. I'm not going to set up a poll because I don't know how many people will get involved so this method would be easier for me, plus you can tell me why you've picked that answer and if you have any other ideas as to how to make that happen.

Here are your choices:

Show me your teeth.

One step at a time.

The car ride to the school is full of Disney songs that Evie and I sang at the top of our voices to, whilst Lisa tries to avoid the gazes of every driver and passenger of the other cars. We thought it was brilliant, just as a new song started up, we'd roll up to a junction or traffic light and off we'd go again with the singing and shouting.

"You're just as bad as she is." Lisa mutters under her breathe and I chuckle, as the bear necessities is fading out to the Aristocats. My face lights up and Lisa groans loudly knowing that this is one of my favourite Disney songs because its from my favourite movie. Evie however isn't familiar with it and so proceeds to laugh at every face and ridiculous dance move I make whilst singing to the song.

"Aunty Addy, you're so silly, you can't be a cat!" She says, shaking her head at me whilst she sits in her booster car seat. I look at her in fake disbelief and she giggles.

"And why not?" She frowns for a moment, patting her legs and then sighing exaggeratedly.

"Because you just can't!" I cross my arms and stare back at her defiantly.

"I can!" I counter back and she narrows her eyes and crosses her own arms in challenge, its about to go down people!

"Can't!"

"Can!"

"Can't!"

"CAN!"

"CAN'T!"

"Alright!" Lisa shouts back just as we pull into the school car park. "Madison, you know better than to tease her!" Lisa scowls at me, playfully.

"This is the first time I'm going to be separated from her for more than two hours." I wrap my arms around Evie and she holds onto before giving her mum a look as she tenderly pats my arms as I cuddle her, saying:

"She needs me. The poor thing." I have to smother a laugh at her words and Lisa looks at me with the same expression.

"Well Aunty Addy will just have to be a big girl and live without you for a couple of hours." Lisa leans back and moves to take her seatbelt off just as I go to do the same when I notice a woman on the footpath outside, just next to the car and one of the smaller buildings of the school. I watch as she's busy talking to other mothers one minute before bending down slightly to get a better look at Lisa in the car before excusing herself for a moment from the other mothers.

"Who's that sis?" I say, as I begin helping Evie out of her seat and collecting her things for school.

"That's Miss Nora!" Evie tells me instead and Lisa looks questionably at the woman in we'd pointed out before getting out of the car and meeting the woman half way.

"Hold on a minute kiddo, I think somethings wrong." I mumble and pull her back to her seat as I watch the two women exchange words for a moment, seeing the panicked look on the other woman's face. Lisa nods and then turns before walking back to the car.

"Is everything okay?" I ask as Lisa seats herself back in the car.

"That was Nora, she's the co-ordinator of the breakfast club Evie goes into. Apparently, Miss Reyes, Evie's form teacher, has gone into early labour and the school are busy waiting on a substitute teaching to come in on short notice but the earliest they think he can get in is 9:30. Nora can only take care of the kids up until five to nine when the go for registration and start classes, she teaches a class of older students and therefore can't take them with her. There's no-one else free until then, so they're asking if there's any way that we can take the kids until then. The priority children are being taken care of by the Headmistress, but she's already got 10 children."

"I could take her, I can ring the Sheriff and tell him the circumstances and ask if we can rearrange or see if he'll allow her in with me. I know the police station isn't really a place for a child but then I can call a taxi or grab the bus and bring her back here before I go home."

"No, I'll ring Craig, give me a minute." She grabs for her bag in the footwell of the front passenger seat, she digs around in it for a second and I keep Evie entertained for a bit whilst she's on the phone.

"What's Pooh Bear been up to kiddo?" I ask her and she immediately tells me of their latest grand adventures.

"Hey Honey. Evie's form teacher has gone into early labour and the substitute can't get in till 9:30 but I need to get to work, I have that meeting with Mrs Coress. Madison was thinking about rescheduling her interview, so I can go to work and she'll drop Evie off for me instead." I hear Craig reply back for a few minutes, its muffled so I can't quite make it out. "She said that they're hoping the substitute would be in for that time, there's a chance that I could be later, she needs to be dropped off at the school office and they'll be collected by the Headmistress." More muffled talking and I see Lisa constantly checking her watch before she nods and ends the call.

"Craig's going to ring the Sheriff and then get back to me. He'd come and get Evie himself but by the time he gets here it'll be no point and I'll just have to take Evie with me and drop her back at school after my meeting."

"Look if Craig can rearrange then that'll be grand, I'll take her to the shop to get her a drink and we'll just play in the park across the road for a bit and then I'll drop her in and head on home."

"You've been getting yourself ready for this for weeks now, you're finally coming back to us, I don't want you to revert back because of this." Suddenly my phone begins to ring, its an unknown number to me but then my Samsung s8 does a quick check on the number to tell me that its Beacon Hill Sherriff Station.

"It's the station?" I say confused just as Lisa's phone begins to ring.

"Answer!" She motions with her hand and I quickly get out of the car so I can hear better.

"Hello, Madison speaking." I feel my heartbeat kick up a notch as I wait for the person on the other side of the line to speak.

"Is this Madison Russell?" A male voice asks me; sounding professional and blunt. Though his voice is smooth, husky and a little deep making me summarise that the person talking isn't particularly old. Mature yes, no older than 30. However, it does make me shiver a little, smooth talker indeed but I do roll my eyes at the question and a sarcastic reply is about to leave my lips when I consider the fact that this person may or may not be the Sherriff. "Yes, speaking, whom am I speaking with please?" I reply in the exact same manner.

"This is Deputy Parrish calling on the behalf of Sherriff Stilinski, we have been informed of your situation and the Sherriff is on his way to collect you, I have been told to contact you and inform you of this, he should be arriving shortly." I'm shocked, to the point where I almost don't reply back, even when I can hear him waiting impatiently as a sigh leaves his mouth.

"Thank you, Deputy, for taking the time to call me, it's much appreciated. However, there is the question as to who shall be watching over my niece and how she will be getting to school later whilst I'm otherwise occupied." I hear him take a breath, not particularly happy about my question nor the fact that he's had to ring me, by the sounds of it.

"Sherriff Stilinski has given me the task of escorting yourself and your niece to Beacon Hills Primary School once your interview has concluded Miss Russell." He says, and I can detect a hint of frustration and unhappiness to his tone.

"I see." I pause as I hear a door open and turn to look over my shoulder and see Lisa looking at me questionably. "Look, I'm grateful for the offer, however I think that I'd rather take a bus or perhaps a taxi instead. I don't want to disrupt your duties by making you do this mundane task, not to mention you don't particularly sound happy about doing it either, so I will discuss this once the Sherriff arrives. Thank you for your time Deputy." I pull the phone away but hear him try to argue back and persuade me, his tone immediately becoming more willing and sympathetic, just as a Patrol car pulls onto the main street in the distance. I hang up and try to prepare myself, my phone rings again, the same number and I decline it three times, just as the Sherriff pulls into a spot two spaces away behind Lisa.

Pulling open the car door, I see Evie's face light up and I smile at her.

"Hey sweetie, give me a couple of minutes alright." She nods patiently and I give her, her Winnie The Pooh teddy she'd accidently dropped on the floor before grabbing my handbag and shutting the door. Standing to full height I walk around Lisa's car just as the Sherriff does, he meets me just as Lisa walks forward.

"Hello Lisa, nice to see you." He nods to her with a smile and she smiles back.

"It's nice to see you too Noah, haven't seen you since the BBQ Rocky threw during the summer."

"Time flies unfortunately." He claps his hands and wrinkles his forehead. "Now, I think introductions are in order." He looks to me and I smile, holding my hand out for him.

"Madison Russell, pleasure to meet you Sherriff Sir." He scoffs playfully and shakes my hand.

"No need to be so formal Miss Russell. I haven't started the interview yet." I chuckle as we drop out hands.

"I'll save my formalities until then. Thank you though, for taking time out of your day to come help us. I know its not something you usually do so I appreciate it, as I'm sure Lisa and Craig are too."

"We're a close community and Craig and I are good friends, we help out when we can. I hear you need a lift?"

"Please, I'll happily get the bus, it's only so Lisa can get to her meeting on time."

"Ah, don't worry about it. Where is that little ray of sunshine I'm always hearing about." He says offhandedly about the offer but lights up when he talks about Evie. I smile brightly at him, the corners of my eyes crinkling from the big and brightness of my smile.

"Evie, sweetie?" I say as I walk around Lisa excitedly, missing the tender look in Lisa's eyes as she smiles at my actions and then to the Sherriff who winks at her. I open the door and Evie waits patiently, looking at me expectantly. "Hey sweetie, gotta deal for you." I bend down to her height in the car as her mother walks past me to leans against the door from behind it. "If you be a good girl and come along me to the Sherriff station with me, I promise to take you back to school in a special car."

"Who's car?" She asks and I look behind me and she follows my gaze before lighting up with excitement as she sees the Sherriff and then the patrol car. "MISTER SHERRIF STILINSKI SIR!" She all but screams with excitement before she demands to be out of the car and then all but sprints to the Sherriff, who catches her in time and picks her up.

"That's a mouthful Evangeline, I thought we agreed on calling me Sherriff?" She glares at him for a moment before replying back sassily.

"And I thought we agreed on calling me Evie?!" I have to stop myself from laughing as I see the Sherriff's eyebrows disappear up into his hairline for a moment before he starts laughing.

"Alright I'm sorry Evie, I must've forgotten." He says honestly and offers his hand as a sign of truce.

"That's alright, mummy says people forget names when they get old anyway." She shakes his hand and I actually have to cover my mouth to stop my laugher, Lisa however is appalled the minute she hears those words.

"EVANGELINE MARIE SUMMERS!" She goes to correct her but the Sherriff just laughs a good old belly laugh and shakes his head in minor disbelief, showing he wasn't offended, merely amused.

"Is that so? Well I guess you may just have to keep on reminding me young Lady. Now lets say we get you strapped up in the back of the car and we can take your Aunty to the police station?" She looks at me thoughtfully for a moment before questioning the Sherriff.

"You're not going to put me in hand cuffs, right?" If it hadn't have been for her innocent face and puppy dogs eyes, I would've laughed my head off. I did chuckle, as did the Sherriff and Lisa, as she collects the booster seat and Evie's school bag and packed lunch from her car.

"No, certainly not." The Sherriff reassures her and she narrows her eyes at him as she studies his face.

"Promise?" He holds up his pinky finger and she attempts to wrap her own around his as he replies.

"Promise kiddo." She grins at him and its contagious as we all grin at the exchange. "Well come on then, you mommy's gotta go to work." Lisa quickly transfers the booster seat into the back of the car and straps Evie in as the Sherriff walks around to the drivers side. "See you later Lisa, have Craig call me, he mentioned something about dinner on Sunday." He asks as he gets into the car before placing his seatbelt on and starting it.

"Will do Sherriff." She calls back before looking at me sternly, I know what's going to come out of her mouth so I beat her to the punch as I pull the passenger door open slightly.

"I know, I won't let her out of my sight. I'll text you once we get there, once we leave, once we get here and when I get back home. I promise that I'll keep her safe."

"I wasn't going to ask that, I already know you'll keep her safe. I trust you with my life for that. I am going to ask though, that you be yourself. Don't let anyone else intimidate you or make you feel self-conscious. You're made of tougher stuff and I'm pretty sure you could kick just about everyone and anyone's ass if you had to."

"But you know I won't." I chuckle.

"You'll be fine. I'll call you once I'm finished with my meeting, just call me back if you're still in the interview. And don't forget to call Craig too."

"Will do sis, will do. I'll see you later." I say as I climb into the car, shutting the door, I angle my head so I can see Evie. "You okay back there sweetie?"

"Yeah!" She squeals back in excitement and the Sherriff chuckles. I turn back around happy as I put my seatbelt on. "Wave goodbye to Mummy sweetie." I say as the Sherriff pulls out of the parking space.

"BYE MOMMY!" I wince a little, she's got a good set of lungs on her, I'll tell you that.

"I said wave goodbye to mummy, not tell the whole world goodbye mummy!" I say playfully and she starts laughing, before pulling her teddy into her lap and venturing into her imaginary land of adventures. I look to the Sherriff and he looks back to me a little, smiling. "Thank you Sherriff, you didn't need to do this."

"Agh, don't worry about it. It's nice to leave the station every once in a while without having to arrive with trouble waiting for me."

"Oh just wait, once you get to know me." I imply slightly with a smile and he chuckles.

"So tell me Madison? You don't mind me calling you Madison, I know it's a bit informal but I know the whole family and call them by –"

"It's fine. I've been called worse." He chuckles in a agreement on his own behalf.

"You and me both. Tell me a bit about yourself. I've already heard so much about you from Craig and Lisa and just recently from a Sergeant Steven Anderson. I want to hear it from the horses mouth. No offense." I chuckle as he immediately tries to apologise for his comment.

"None taken, however I'm a little scared as to what Andy has told you?" He looks at me, a look very similar to a 'I know something you don't know and I'm not going to tell you either' and then chuckles with a cheeky grin on his face. "Oh come on. There's somethings that I got up to and into on my days on the force and off the force with him and the others, somethings that I don't want to relive, somethings I'm sure he'd just love to tell you about." I plead to him but he stays mum on the word, laughing to himself.

"Regardless as to whether you got stranded on a roof in your S.W.A.T gear stuck to a chimney pot and had to be rescued by the Fire service." I gasp in horror at him and he has to keep a straight face as my eyes go wide with betrayal. "And what Sergeant Anderson told me, that you were an excellent, honourable and hard working member of his team, doesn't mean that I know you, so tell me."

"He told you about the chimney!" I whisper, still shocked with betrayal.

"And a whole lot more that makes me wonder if taking you on is more trouble for me or not."

"But the chimney!" He chuckles but then looks at me seriously and I sober myself up. "Apart from recent events." I say somewhat sombrely and he nods slightly with encouragement. "I loved living life to the fullest. I'd be out of the house at the crack of dawn and back in after twilight. I couldn't sit still for long, the only thing I can sit till long enough for is a good home cooked meal and a movie. Otherwise I'm out. I had my hands into everything and anything. Volunteered as much as I could, spent most of my time outside of work at homeless shelters, retirement homes and children's hospitals. Just so others could have five minutes to themselves."

"Pooh! Leave some honey for everyone else, you silly old bear!" I hear Evie cry, too carried away in her own world to realise the very mature moment that was happening. The Sherriff looks in his rear-view mirror and smiles to himself for a moment before giving me a side glance and nodding at me again.

"I love learning something new, the local college would always be offering new classes. If it wasn't for them I'd never know how to cook properly, not just basic stuff but full on master chef stuff. Learnt first aid which helped me make my way onto the force. Learnt more techniques in self-defence. Even got my masters in a few. Took a liking to the creative side, sketching, painting and all that. But I'm a quick learner and I sometimes excel faster than othes, which means I'm always looking for something else to do."

"That's a very active life you've got going on there, a lot of accomplishments. You should be proud of yourself for all that. But with all these fast-paced activities, what do you do to relax, to calm down?"

"I love being in the wilderness. The calmness of just being out in the sticks, back to basics just lets me come down from cloud 9 for a bit. Any chance that I got, I'd take Demon, dog and service dog on the force, up to my dad's caravan by the lake just a couple of hours or so from where I lived. We'd hike the trails for hours, just enjoying and taking it all in. It was my happy place on my days off, if work got stressful or just in general. It's where Lisa found when my dad died."

It silent for a few minutes after my revelation before he asks.

"What made you want to become a cop?" And I smile sadly for a moment.

"When I was 9, the school I went to would always put on an open day for the local community. So people could come and tell us what they do and I remember there being several police cars, an ambulance and even a fire engine, parked up in our school yard. It was to make us aware of the different roles they play in the world and helped us understand more on why they did this. And I remember sitting in one of the police cars, the Officer let play the sirens and lights before he asked me what I wanted to be when I was older. I said a Power Ranger. And he laughed." The Sherriff gives me a sideways glance but I hear him.

"A Power Ranger?"

"I was a Tomboy until high school when puberty and teenage drama got a hold of me." He chuckles again. "At the time, I couldn't understand why he laughed at me so I got a bit defensive about it. But he said that it was great that I wanted to be a one. Asked me what colour ranger I wanted to be but I told him, as long as I could help save the world whenever the big bag guy sent one of his soldiers then it didn't matter. But if I could it would be either the blue ranger because they're always the smart ones, the ones that always get picked on. And that's what happened to me because I always either had a book in my hand or in the school gym before lunch participating with whatever class they had on."

"Seems old habits die hard." I smile and duck my head a little.

"He then asked me what the other colour would be and I said red. Because if I was given the chance to lead my own team one day, to fight and protect the world, then I would do it to the best that I can. I think I remember saying that if I had to sacrifice myself if my teammates ever got captured or hurt then I would. So long as they were safe, the world was safe and the bad guys were defeated. He asked me what I would do once the world was safe and I said I didn't know. He told me all that talent, that knowledge on how to protect people shouldn't go to waste and that maybe I should become a police officer."

The Sherriff hums in agreement as he turns a corner.

"The Officer was so nice and compassionate about it, he didn't crush my dream and immediately tell me to be this or be that. He encouraged me where others didn't, in the end he told me just about everything about his job and I was so enthralled about it that I immediately began ready about anything and everything about the Police. The same time the year after, the school put the open day on again and I was the first one to the police car but it wasn't the same Police officer this. I had wanted to tell him all about my research. But luckily the Officer that day used to work in the same station. He didn't want to tell me what actually happened to Officer Holt and so said he'd retired. I knew that you only retired if you were really old. It wasn't until a fair few years later when I started my Studies in College did I find out he died on the job. He'd been a in police chase after a boy had been kidnapped by his father from his own home." I can feel myself choking up over the memory and force myself to keep it in check.

"What happened?"

"There was a collision and the perpetrator got out on foot. Over in the U.K. We don't carry guns, just batons, tasers and parvo spray. Unless there's been a tip off that there's a weapon such as a gun or knife. No-one knew about the illegally altered air refile the father had with him and therefore Officer Holt was at a disadvantage. The article I read said he'd tried to reason with the man but the thought of being separated from his son clouded his thinking and he shot Holt seven times before running for it. Taking his son with him. Eventually three police dogs tracked and brought him down. But Holt didn't make it. I couldn't believe it so I went down to the Station he worked at and told the Chief how I met Officer Holt and how he changed my perspective. He smiled at me and told me to follow him, I got my first look of a police station and I was in my glories. Never thought I'd see one at least on the good side of the law." I clear my throat for a moment and realised that we're only a minute away from the station and can see that the Sherriff is concentrating on the static coming from his radio.

"I'm listening." He tells me and I stare at him in wonder as he multitasks.

"As it turns many of the staff that were there th3 day I came in, worked with Holt too. They each told me about how they knew him. I felt so humbled when they told me that he, had told them about a little girl who he met. A little girl who wanted to be a Power Ranger, not the red one, the blue one. Because the blue ones are always smart and get picked on. But if she had to be the red one, then she would be the greatest. They showed me a picture of him, on Red Nose Day, which is comic relief, the whole nation gets involved for charity. He was dressed as the blue ranger. They told me, I changed his view of the world that day just as he changed mine. He even kept the drawing I gave him of myself as the blue power ranger and he as a police officer. It was up on the wall next to his picture. He was only 26. He wasn't married or had children. His death, encouraged me, to push through it all and be the greatest I could be. Plus, he went out of his way to be the blue ranger, figured it was only fair that I pay him back with respect by becoming on officer." I smile to myself for a moment, proud and don't realise that we've stopped until I hear Evie fussing.

"Now that's something." I look at the Sherriff in surprise by his tone. He was humbled by my words, honoured that I shared this with him. "Now I've heard some poor excuses as to why some of the men and women that have walked through those doors wanting to become an officer, asking for a job. Most ex-forces. The rest, have either been on the wrong side of the law and are wanting to turn that wrong into a right. Are following in their father or mother's footsteps or have had mom and dad pay for their tuition only to come this far and all but demand the job as theirs. But you, you give and give and yet never ask for it back. You want to help the world and don't expect anyone to give anything back, so long as you know you've done right. Which is why I've already given you the job." The last few words leave his mouth, reach my ears but don't quite register in my brain what they mean, for a good few minutes, long enough for him to get out of the car. Take Evie out of the car and get half way to the Station doors before I'm all but falling out of the got damn car after them.

"Come Aunty Addy! You're going to be late!" Evie sing songs back to me and I don't know how I do it because I can't feel my legs, but I make it to the doors just as the Sherriff opens them.

"I'm coming sweetie, Aunty Addy's just trying to figure-" The Sherriff disappears through and I let a exiting Deputy through as I hold the door. "-Out what the hell just happened." I finish under my breath as I walk through and then come face to face with a man this a masterpiece that Michelangelo has carved himself. I actually have to tell myself to breath as I watch the man take notice of the Sherriff walking in, stand from his desk in such a smooth and fluid motion its like he moves like water, gathers his notes and begins discussing them with the Sherriff. I see his arms flex with every movement of the pages he flips and as his hands become animated with the conversation, I follow them up, to his lips and then his eyes as they flicker back and forth from the Sherriff and his notes before focussing on the blonde head of curls, which turn in the Sherriff's arms towards my direction and I prepare myself enough just as those eyes follow the direction to me.

"Aunty Addy!?" I hear my little angels voice call out and break through the fuzz and bring me back to reality, her little gaze is concerned as she looks at me but I wink at her and she soon giggles and swings her head back around. Michelangelo's master piece eyes me up too, but I can't quite make out what he's thinking as his eyes and posture don't give away anything but they soon turn back the Evie, fully interested in her words.

"Yes, baby girl?" I say as I walk up to the three, masterpiece side eyeing me the entire time but trying to be subtle about it. She immediately reaches for me and the Sherriff knowingly and expertly manoeuvres her from his arms and into mine. She cuddles into me and I balance her on my hip and she goes quiet for a moment as eyes up the man next to the Sherriff, who stubbornly keeps her gaze. Brave man.

"Sherriff says I have to stay with him for a little while." She mumbles into the crook of my neck shyly and I look up for a moment to silently judge the man, somewhat appraisingly too.

"What was that, I didn't quite hear? Who's this him you speak of?" I tickle her sides and she giggles, her laughter contagious that it makes the man crack a small smile.

"Mister Deputy Parrish! Mercy! MERCY!" She giggles louder as I catch a particularly tickly spot and she wriggles about in my grasp.

"Mister Deputy Parrish you say?" She nods and the names registers in my head, this man, Parrish, the man I spoke to this morning, who wasn't happy about babysitting or chauffeuring us. Is the man that left me breathless, then man who the Sherriff wants to watch my sole light of my life. Interesting. "Hmm. Well I'm sure the Sherriff has a good judge of character sweetie, however so does Aunty Addy." I narrow my eyes at Parrish and the Sherriff catches my look, questions it himself before turning, crossing his arms and narrowing his gaze on Parrish too. I watch as he swallows, his left eye twitches and he grasps the notes a bit more. "Personally I think Deputy Parrish would be-"

"Delighted to watch her until you're finished." I'm caught off guard by his sudden eager tone, the change in his posture and his face in general. He's lost the whole 'stick stuck up his ass' expression. He's like a completely different person, even the Sheriff notices it because his eyebrows disappear again before he quickly shoots his gaze to me in question. I realise what it is that Parrish is doing though, he doesn't want to be caught out for being a bit of an asshole to me on the phone earlier and so is trying to get himself in the good books with myself so he won't be in the bad books with the Sherriff.

"Hmm, I don't know Sherriff, he doesn't look much like a people person let alone-" Parrish cuts me off again.

"No, honestly, I'd be happy too." He says softly, dropping his notes onto his desk without looking and gingerly stepping up to me, his eyes on mine the entire time before looking down and smiling genuinely at Evie. "Hi there, who might you be then? You know my name but I don't know yours?" He asks her softly. She cuddles into me a little more and holds her teddy bear tighter to her. So her bends down a little to her eye level and asks: "Is it a secret? Does Pooh Bear know, I'll ask him." He clears his throat and puts on his serious expression again, expect it's a bit more exaggerated and Evie giggles at this. "Mr Pooh Bear?" He pauses.

"Sir!" I hear Evie whisper against my neck, Parrish loses his serious expression and smiles but bends closer to her.

"Sir?" He questions in a whisper, playfully. He's beginning to make me think he's not such an asshole now.

"Yes! Sir, you have to be polite." She whispers back, but it's a little louder and I see the Sherriff's shoulders shake as he chuckles.

"Alright." Parrish nods, pulls back, serious face back on. "Mr Pooh Bear Sir?"

"Very good!" Evie praises, without the whispering, and a giggle escapes my lips. Parrish hears this and looks up at me, with the equivalent of the best puppy dog eyes I've seen and I bury my face slightly in Evie's curls to smother my giggles. I see Parrish's lips twitch for a moment before he looks back to Pooh Bear.

"Is it possible, that you could in form me of this here, little girls name please?" He questions and I can see the other Deputies stopping to watch, the men chuckling and shaking there heads where as the few women here are basically swooning. Parrish narrows his eyes. "What was that Sir?" He bends closer, his head pretty much a centre meter away from my abdomen. Any closer and he'd feel the butterflies that were going crazy in there because of him. "That's her name?" Pause. "I see." Pause. "Oh really?" He says somewhat surprised. "Gotcha." Another pause. "Yes Sir, thank you." He pulls back with a grin on his face before standing back up.

"If Pooh Bear told him about that Teddy Bear pick nick we had, then Aunty Addy needs to have a serious word with him." I look down and tell her seriously before glaring at the bear in question. She giggles and then I playfully glare at her before she nudges my cheek and motions with the bear back to Parrish.

"Mr Pooh Bear told me your name, he told me however that you don't like your name because it's too long and that you'd like me better if I called you Evie." She looks down at Pooh Bear in disbelief.

"Traitor!" She says, and I laugh, a full-on belly laugh at her words and Parrish joins me too. She looks at us laughing, her head going back and forth, and I can tell that the cogs are turning in her head. The evil genius that she is.

"Well, what do you think sweetie?" I ask her once I compose myself. "Any trouble and I promise, I'll be back. Faster than lightening."

"To kick his butt?" She asks me and we both turn our heads to him, assessing him. I hear the other Deputies laugh at this. "Hmm, no, he's not worth it. I've seen you kick bigger people butts than him. I'm good. I'll kick his butt if I have to." I have to hold back my laughter at Parrish's offended expression before he opens his arms and extends them forward in offering.

"Okay sweetie. If you say so." I say as I hand her over but find myself grasping his arms and arranging them so he's holding her safely. Balanced on his hip and kept close to his body, supported and braced by his arms. I can see him silently watching me, my every move as he lets me move his arms to the correct places.

"We'll just be in here kiddo." The Sherriff reassures her and waves his hand towards the open door of his office. "Everyone else back to work." He scolds the rest of his staff.

"Won't be long okay?" I tell her and unintentionally put my hands onto Parrish's biceps for support, as I use them to balance me as I lean up to kiss her forward. "Thank you." I say to Parrish as I look up at him for a moment, before pulling away and walking to the Sherriff's office.

"Take a seat." He says as I step inside, he follows and turns around before winking at Evie, still secured in Parrish's arms, as he seats them at his table. Immediately pulling out scrap pieces of paper and giving her a pencil to draw with. Pooh Bear still in her hand, she waves just as the Sherriff shuts the door.

"Now, Miss Russell." He begins.
