A/N: Another Chapter at last, here's 11 :)

Chapter 11: Nature Vs Fear:

Ivy was very weak and very sickly. The eco-mistress kept drifting in and out of consciousness. Sucking up all of Crane's toxins had a very vile affect on her, most prominently in a physical manner.

She hated to admit it, but she now knew that Crane wasn't lying when he said that the toxin leeches the life from its victims, and Ivy wasn't an exception from that. What she currently was aware of was that Batman had succeeded in ruining the plans of The Arkham Knight, as she had successfully dispatched the fear toxin.

The Eco-Mistress barely had the strength to stumble outside of her tree, which was mostly her base of operations during the night's events. In fact, she barely had enough physical strength left to keep her eyes open. She could barely stand up. She had managed to see one thing before completely losing all of her energy and collapsing.

Batman was gliding towards her...

The Vigilante immediately rushed to her aid. He tried calling out to her and reviving her multiple times. "Ivy." Was all he managed to say.

With her last ounce of physical strength left, she looked at Batman and made a final statement before drifting into unconsciousness.

"Nature always wins..."

By the time Batman reached her, she was already seemingly out-cold. The Dark Knight indeed knew that in the end, nature helped save his city.

Unknown to Batman, Ivy just barley maintained a form of consciousness. Ivy could barely hear what Batman was saying as he towered over her broken body. What was happening was that Batman was talking to someone on his private communications line.

"...Miss Isley's actions proved to us all that there's still humanity inside of her..."

"A...Ed.."

Everything was so muffled, It couldn't have been real. What was reality and what was fiction? She couldn't even tell the difference.

Ivy even managed to hear just a little bit more of Batman's conversation. The Dark Knight sounded infuriated.

"I want updates on Gotham's Most Wanted. Especially Crane, he's the top priority. He'll pay for this...I'll personally make sure of it..." Batman says something surprising afterwards. "For all she's done in the past, even Ivy doesn't deserve this brutal fate."

While she couldn't hear who was on the other end of Batman's line, she could at least hear what Batman was saying. "In the end, Ivy never really did lose her humanity, all it took was extreme human measures to bring it out in the end. At one point, even I had underestimated the humanity underneath the skin known as Poison Ivy. She chose to sacrifice herself for the greater good, in more ways than we could imagine."

It didn't seem like much, but Batman's praise and admiration for what she did was enough to give the Eco-Mistress one more ounce of light strength. She managed to stir just enough to let Batman know that she was alive and conscious at the moment.

Batman walked over to Ivy and picked her up. By the time she felt her body being carried in the arms of The Dark Knight, she had fully passed out.

Batman, without a doubt in his mind, took her to the GCPD, where she could be safe and hopefully recover from her horrible scars and injuries.

The Vigilante made a very important mental note to himself. "Crane will pay dearly for this." And he was going to make sure of it.

Later on during the night, Ivy found herself inside the GCPD building. She was barley able to open her eyes, in fact it was slightly painful to do such a simple task. She found herself lying on a bed somewhere inside the building. But The Eco-Mistress realized something. She wasn't inside of a cell, neither was she being held captive by some sort of restraints.

Due to her sickly and gravely like condition, she was barley able to move on her own. Hell, she couldn't even sit up by herself. She noticed two more things. The first being was that she was hooked up to a life support machine and the second being that an officer was standing outside of the isolation cell that she had spent earlier hours in prior to the fear toxin and Cloudburst crisis.

The officer seemed to notice that she had woken up and decided to go talk and check up on Ivy. The GCPD officer walked over to Ivy and began to have a conversation with her.

"Ahhh Miss Ivy, you're finally awake." The officer said with genuine kindness.

"What's going on? What happened?" Ivy was clearly confused and in the dark about her current position.

Officer Joana began to explain everything that had happened thus far. "No worries ma'am. Batman brought you to the GCPD maybe 35-45 minutes ago. You were unconscious and in very bad shape, so he hooked you up to one of our life-support machines, such as the one right next to your bed. He also hooked up this IV water solution bag to you as well which is currently feeding your unique biological system the water it needs. The water is the courtesy of Batman, and you are on you third bag already."

"I see." Ivy weakly replied.

Officer Joana continued. "Ma'am, had Batman not hooked these up to you, I'm almost quite positive you would've died shortly after he brought you here."

Ivy was surprised as she did not think that Batman would do something that great for her. Then again, she briefly thought about the dream she had where she and Batman were lovers in a healthy relationship. "I'm surprised. Batman deserves my gratitude, especially since I've caused him a lot of stress and issues over the years."

Officer Joana explained more details to Ivy. "Ma'am, While there are a lot of officers including myself who praise you for your actions, but there are those who believe you deserve your suffering and should've died from Crane's damned chemicals due to your past crimes."

Ivy was slightly saddened, but wasn't surprised by this. "I'm not surprised sir, I don't fault any of them for how they feel towards me, in-fact, I would rather you arrest me than to help me."

Officer Joana immediately shut down Ivy's absurd request. "Don't say such things Miss Ivy. In fact me and Batman had to convince the rest of my fellow men otherwise. Batman and myself had told them that even if you wanted to do some harm to them, you wouldn't be able to since with your sickly state and your skin now an awfully toxic color, your in no condition to do anything even if you wanted to. You should be proud of yourself. Your actions are the reason Gotham is no longer suffering from Crane's toxins. My 10 year son and 14 year old daughter will be able to come back home soon. In fact, word around town is that even the other psychopaths were outraged by what Scarecrow did."

Ivy was shocked to the point where she could not believe it. "I can't believe it."

Officer Joana chuckled lightly. "If you don't believe me Ma'am, see for yourself. Use the plants."

Ivy was surprised that someone other than Batman or his pupils were aware of her abilities, but she didn't want to waste time, she decided to use what little strength she had left to see if Officer Joana's claims were true...

Ivy began to use what little strength she had left. With alot of focus she used her energies to focus on the plants that were near the main cell for the Super-Criminals and Supervillains. From what she was now beginning to hear, it sounded like Two-Face and Penguin were in the middle of a heated and petty argument with each other over the course of tonight's events. Ivy assumed that Batman must've captured The Penguin some point before or shortly after she cleared Gotham of Crane's toxins.

"I knew this bloody alliance wouldn't work!" Penguin snarled. "You didn't play your part you useless two-faced son of a bitch!"

"I do things my way Oz, I don't follow anyone!" Two Face fired back, although much calmer than Penguin.

Cobblepot laughed loudly and sarcastically. "You should've just handed out weapons like I was, then all this would've been avoided! Pfft, robbing banks? You might as well as make a bloody book on 'How To Stop Criminals' for the next generation of tight-wearing freaks!"

Two-Face simply shot back with his own insult directed against Cobblepot's men. "You're men are incompetent Oz, why do you think we offed so many of them in Arkham City. Not only just that, there's also the fact that Batman and Nightwing busted all of your weapon caches all over Gotham. And Fate is certain that Nightwing is gonna take down whatever weapons you've got left in Bludhaven too pal. And Fate...never lies."

Penguin was absolutely livid by this fact. Cobblepot began snarling and yelling like a madman before finally sounding like a human again. "You're a bloody loser Dent! At least my men captured that little cockroach Nightwing! You haven't even managed to make a blasted dent tear in Batman yellow stained cape!"

Dent, like most of his encounters with Cobblepot, wasn't phased by this in the slightest. He calmly explained the situation that led to Penguin's humiliating defeat, while also shedding some light to his own encounter with The Dark Knight. "I told you already, I like to keep it old school when it comes to The Bat. The moment you tried to use Nightwing as bait is when Fate left you Oz, Your defeat was inevitable...as was my own."

In a corner of the main cell, Simon Stagg sat down on the floor, disgusted by the two mob bosses and their argument with one another. He snorted before insulting the both of them. "You two nincompoops are like two whiny little children. You'll never compare to a successful and glorious man like me."

The deluded businessman's claims immediately caused Two-Face and The Penguin to look at him like he had just lost his mind.

Dent simply mocked him for his self-righteous ego. "Careful what you say Stagg, the boys in blue told us about your business with Crane and his Cloudburst device. Had the gas not disappeared...I'd have lost a lot of my men and for that Stagg, you'd have to die."

Cobblepot simply laughed hysterically. "HAHA! The walking scratching post is right. Had Bat-Brain not taken care of Crane's 'smoke machine' I'd have lost my entire bloody crew. You're lucky the pigs and The Bat threw me in here or else I'd have immediately hired someone to kill you!" Cobblepot once again, laughed hysterically. "HAHA, then maybe 'comfort' that lovely daughter of yours, Sapphire was it? She's a pretty 'lil thing, isn't she?"

Stagg simply scoffed in retaliation. "For one, my daughter would never even sniff the same air as you two filthy fleabags, and your gang are nothing more than toys that are to be discarded after they're played with you hypocritical psychopaths!"

Aaron Cash, whom was sick and tired of listening to the three arrested men dish out nonsense immediately ordered them to be silent. "All of you, do us all a favor and shut the hell up!"

Ivy had decided she had heard enough of the utter nonsense that Stagg, Dent and Cobblepot had been dishing out. Even if she had wanted to continue using her powers to spy on them, she couldn't as she no longer had the strength to do so.

Officer Joana, whom had been the only officer to willingly watch over Ivy, noticed that she began to look even more weaker. "Miss Ivy? Are you alright?"

Her consciousness was beginning to slowly drift away. "I'm...fine...sir." She slowly and weakly added. She could barley keep consciousness anymore and closed her eyes, hoping soon, she'll be able to make a full recovery...
