The Legend of Zelda: The Hero's Twilight, a 'Legend of Zelda' fanfic by Tsunami Storm
Chapter 12: Reward
The Hero of Time was given a hero's funeral, the likes of which Hyrule had never before seen, and was buried in the royal cemetery within the castle grounds- given his royal title as well as the seclusion of the ancient temple of Time. In the passing years, some visitors to the burial grounds would often claim that they had seen a spectral wolf prowling about the headstones- watching over his subordinates and kin like an immortal sentinel- but none had been able to prove the sightings.
The Hero of Twilight renounced his title of 'Hero', acknowledging the events of the past but relinquishing the role in favor of a newer title, the Crown Prince of Hyrule. He would rule the Blessed Land alongside his twin sister as co-rulers rather than Princess and Hero- as had been the custom of some previous generations. Princess Zelda- in her wisdom given by goddess Nayru- dubbed her brother's action 'The Hero's Twilight', signifying that Link's time as the Hero had set, and that his reign as Prince would be as the dawn of a new age of splendor.
In the years to come, Prince Link eventually wed the fair Lady Ilia- daughter of the mayor of Ordon Village- and made her Princess of the land of Hyrule, equal in standing to himself and his sister Zelda- who was more than happy to welcome her into the royal family.
So the kingdom of Hyrule prospered under the reign of Prince Link, Princess Zelda and Princess Ilia, and the land knew nothing but peace and prosperity for generations.
-Until the evil Wind Sorcerer Vaati was resurrected, thus requiring another incarnation of the Hero of Heroes, the Fierce Deity, to face the demons of darkness and its King once again.

...But that is a story for another day.
The End
Finally done with it! That took a while.
There were a few more ideas that I'd wanted to include in this story, but I couldn't figure out a good way to incorporate them. Oh well. More ammunition for the next story, then!
...and I can't think of anything else to say in these end comments. For now. Maybe I'll think of something else later. But for now, I'll see you all in my next story!
God Bless!
