A/N: And I'm back with another one. The first chapter is short, mostly because I want to know everyone's interest in the story. I adore comments both good and constructive. Hope you enjoy this new story as we head into the new year.

The thing you need to know…it's all about sex. They say people think about sex every twenty-eight seconds. For my group of friends it's probably every seven. Maybe you're shopping for some groceries, doing laundry at a laundromat, or hopping on a flight from San Francisco to New York when you find yourself checking out a hot human. More attractive than the one you went out with last night, last week, or last year.

"So can I tell you?" Jefferson asked in an excited tone, his eyes wide as his fingers drummed on my office desk. I took a big gulp of my smoothie, debating on whether or not to answer him or just keep him rambling.

"Tell me what?" He is my best friend, maybe I should act like I'm somewhat interested in his dating life.

"About last night. He was perfect."

"Well I'd certainly like to hear the story," Ah Ruby, she who does not knock. She plopped down in the chair next to Jefferson and kicked her feet up on my desk, but not before reaching over to take my smoothie for herself. Nope. I don't like that. That is my smoothie. Go get one of your own. I shot dagger eyes at her while I picked up my smoothie and moved it back to the far corner of my desk, "Oh sorry," she said to me then smiled, "But so you know, the problem with perfection is its inability to recognize anything less perfect than itself." Ruby turned her attention back to Jefferson, nodding in his direction.

"Shush, I'm trying to tell a story. So I'm at the new spot. Fifth and main, right?"

"Right." Ruby and I said at the same time. It's only the hottest new club in New York. Very Studio 54.

"Nice atmosphere, beautiful people y'all. Anyway, I see this boy, cute boy, seems like he's a little out of place which makes me even more interested. But I think I kind of know him. So I go over there and introduce myself, which is when I realize we're both friends with Lily and guess what…he hates her."

"Wait Lily? The one Emma was dating a few months ago?" Ruby asked. Of course she would be the one to take interest. Lily and Ruby have a strong rivalry here in the office so when she found out we were hooking up it she never let me live it down. Though if you ask Lily she would say we were dating not just hooking up.

"No I was fucking her. There's a big difference," I corrected, "And I think we can all agree when your friends with a friend who fucked over a person your partner hates, there's nothing sexier."

"Right, it's like revenge by association." Ruby added.

"Exactly, so I already know I'm in with a chance. So, I buy us some drinks, one thing leads to another and we end up at my place. And let me tell y'all the sex was amazing," See, it's all about sex, "Finally I find somebody who is kinky, which makes me want to pull out all the stops for him. I'm doing hand work, oral work, music is on point I mean I'm like an EMT crew reviving a car crash victim," A laugh bubbled up from my throat, because hey, that shit was funny, "You know what I mean? Sis I was a hairdryer I was blowing so hard."

"Putting in work." Ruby covered her eyes and placed her thumb over either ear as if she couldn't take it anymore.

"Shut up. I'm just saying he was the best I've had all year." Leaning over Jefferson pulled her hands back down. Whether or not she liked it, he would be heard.

"Really did he do your taxes as well?" I teased sarcastically.

"Snarky. But I'll allow it because I've found the man of my dreams and you can't break my good mood," Gag me. Rolling my eyes I sat back in my chair. Jefferson is always finally finding the man of his dreams and he loves hard, nothing wrong with that. Accept he falls harder when shit doesn't work out, "You know what your problem is Emma? People like myself have to work a lot harder than people like you. You don't appreciate the amount of woman that line up to be with you every single fucking day."

As if the Universe was trying to make a point the new receptionist that started working on my floor walked by my office, licked her lips and sent me a wink.

"God damn have you seen anything more beautiful?" Ruby asked at the attractive looking woman in the skirt with the questionable slit going almost all the way to her thigh.

"Yea. Venice at sunset." I responded rather unimpressed. Not like I wasn't interested but she's trying way to hard.

"Okay well you go down the canal and I'll go down on her." She said, biting her lip at the end of her sentence.

"Whatever." It's not that I don't appreciate it, I just don't see a need to jump into a relationship with every person I meet. I believe in fucking not love.

"Listen. Jefferson's not wrong Emma," Turning her head Ruby's big blue eyes surrounded by thick black eyelashes held me, "I mean look at you; sexually irresistible," Check, "Beautifully turned out," Facts, "And one of the highest paid Creative Directors for the largest advertising agency in New York," I see no lies, "You need to meet you a nice woman, take her out, settle the fuck down."

"Really? Coming from the gay cliché herself?" It used to be Ruby and I against the world, until she found someone that made her happy and now she thinks she knows everything there is to know about having a "good relationship", insert internal eye roll.

"Y'all know I don't believe in that shit. Never have and never will." What do people have against just fucking anyway. It's efficient and above all else it's honest. I get in and out with a maximum amount of pleasure and a minimal amount of bullshit. To me love is something people tell themselves so they can get laid and then they end up hurting each other anyway because it was all based on lies to begin with.

"Look I just don't want you to be alone. I worry about you Em," Yea yea, I know, "Who knows, maybe you'll find someone when you hang out with Jefferson tonight."

"Uh, what?"

"Yea you're coming with me to meet Neal."

"What why?" I whined.

"Oh please you can spare one night at the Banshee for me. I don't want to seem too pressed. So, if I bring my 'this is not a date' friend and he'll be bringing his, it'll be a little more casual."

"What if I already had plans?"

"You don't," He deadpanned causing my shoulders to drop, "Please? I'll do all your write ups for the next month if you come with me to hang out with Neal and Reg." Wait a minute…Reg? He batted his long eyelashes and I couldn't help but laugh at his attempt to pout. Slowly his lips moved into a smile showing off his dimples perfectly on each side of his face. Ruby shuffled around in her pocket, grabbing my attention but as I opened my mouth to ask the question was answered when she pulled out her phone. Tapping the screen she bit her lip as her eyebrows scrunched. She is so cute.

"Damnit," She cursed, flipping her phone around to show us the screen, "Neal is following like seven Reg's and they're all private profiles. Six of them are pictures of men."

"Of course." I muttered. Ruby and Jefferson go out with someone they don't know, they have no problem finding them on Instagram but the minute that I want to know what somebody looks like, everything is private.

"Yea, and one profile photo looks like it's of a dog."

"You know what, it doesn't matter if it's a human or a dog. Fuck it. I'll go." Throwing my hands up in defeat I spun around in my chair and looked out the large office window. The Manhattan skyline was my favorite view and when I got promoted I all but demanded to have this view. So, the company built this office just for me, and I have proven why I deserved it. Jefferson's reflection came up behind me, pinching my waist earning a giggle from me.

"Thanks, Em. Now, let's go. I don't want to be late." Reaching over my shoulder he pressed the button that dropped the shades and another that turned off the light. With a sigh I shut down my computer and we all left my office. Saying our goodbyes to Ruby I kissed her on the cheek then set off behind Jefferson to meet his new boo Neal and the mysterious Reg.
