The Lagoon company's torpedo boat slowly pulled into a dock about a half mile from their building. Russian soldiers were posted all along the dock and shoreline, and two trucks with heavy machine guns were posted to the only roads in. The boat stopped next to the dock, and two soldiers tied ropes to the vessel. A hatch opened toward the top, and Dutch climbed out, a lit cigarette in his mouth. Benny came up behind him, opening a beer and taking a seat over one of the torpedo tubes.
Balalaika slowly walked over to the boat, the smoke from her cigar blowing with the Russian officer's jacket she had around her shoulders. "Good evening Dutch. I hope you didn't run into much trouble on the way in." Dutch hopped onto the dock, extending a hand which Balalaika shook.
Dutch smiled slightly, motioning toward the boat. "All aboard." He climbed back aboard and helped the Russian woman onto the deck. Benny opened the hatch and climbed in, soon followed by balalaika and Dutch. They all moved into the tech room in the ship, and Benny began furiously typing away.
"So what is this information your trying to show me dutch?" Balalaika said, amused. As if to answer, a window popped up on the computer screen, and benny rolled away from the computer. Balalaika leaned in, examining the screen, and her eyes grew wide. "How did you get this information?"
Dutch smiled, lighting up another smoke. "Everyones favorite amnesiac picked it up before his accident. Like I was saying earlier, the same guys who attacked us were also at that warehouse you had us raid." She nodded, contemplating. "I assume the people who hit your safe house were of the same unit as well." Dutch shot her a glare. "What the fuck, they hit the safe house? What happened to Rock and Revy?"
Balalaika chuckled. "They're both passed out in one of the vehicles out there. No need to worry." Dutch breathed a sigh of relief. " well fuck, now I gotta get a whole new safe house."
Balalaika turned her attention back to the screen. "I know who these people are, dutch. they are a former Paramilitary corporation turned mercenaries. Used to work with various european countries. They call themselves the Crimson Dragoons. "
Dutch nodded, taking in the information as balalaika continued. "The man in charge of them is simply called the Left-Tenant. We've butted heads many times since I joined hotel Moscow. It seems he wants to finish the fight once and for all."

Rock leaned against the inside of the sedan, his eyes closed. He tried to sleep, but for some reason consciousness kept that relief from him. Revy moved slightly, leaning into his chest more. "Hey rock, you awake?" She whispered. "Yeah, whats up Revy?" She turned to look up at him, eyes half open. "Did you mean anything with that kiss?" Rock sat in silence, his eyes still closed.
"Honestly I don't really know Revy. I just... I don't know." She sighed, pulling a pack of cigarettes from his shirt pocket. "It's fine Rock, you don't need to feel embarrassed. It was my fault anyway. I shouldn't have kissed you this morning." she lit up a cigarette and handed one to him. he put it loosely between his lips and took a drag, blowing the smoke into the seat in front of him. "I just don't know what to think right now Revy. I cant remember anything, and I don't think I can handle..." Revy cut him off as his mind flashed his reflection from the hospital, nothing but skin and bones. "I got it Rock, you're under a lot of stress. but I just have one question. did you feel anything when I kissed you?" the car was silent for a minute, and the pitter-patter of rain began. "I... I don't know what I felt. I'm sorry." Revy sighed and leaned into him again. "Its fine. I don't know what I was thinking." She took a long drag from her cig and watched the smoke rise from her mouth. "Can... can I tell you something?"
Rock looked down at the gunslinger on his chest. "Sure... what's up?" Revy blew another cloud of smoke smoke into the front of the car, listening to the rain for a while. "When we first met, I thought you were just an up tight asshole, some Japanese suit in way over his head. Just another target... But the more time I spent with you, something changed. You've always been in the twilight, Rock. Never really choosing between the life you had and what you have now. Stuck between the land of the living and the dead." She took another drag and repositioned herself so that her head was on his lap. "I guess I admired you for that, and I became almost jealous of you. I... had this thought in the back of my mind that... never mind." She blew another cloud of smoke into the air. "i know this doesn't make much sense to you, having no memory and all, but... well... just don't change Rock." Rock looked down at her, the only noise being the rain on the outside. He only smiled lightly in response, leaning back and closing his eyes. 'What does she mean? Am I like the man I was before I lost my memory? All... All I know is I Don't want to hurt this girl any more. maybe... maybe i ... have..' His mind slowed as sleep finally overtook him.

"Alright comrades, back to HQ. We have borders to secure!" Balalaika yelled as she walked down the dock toward her vehicle. Her Senior Sergeant opened the door as she walked up, closing it as she got in. Dutch and Benny climbed back into the boat, pulling away as the ropes were untied. "Well Benny boy, I think we should sit this one out. Pull out into the bay, we'll go resupply in the morning." Benny nodded before heading into the tech room.
The Russian soldiers piled into their troop transports and the convoy began to move, a machine gun in the front and rear, and the two sedans in the center. Soon the convoy could see Hotel Moscow's HQ loom over the buildings around them, looking foreboding in the rain. Suddenly an explosion shook the ground, stopping the convoy. The hotel which the russians called home was enveloped by smoke, disappearing from view. Balalaika dropped her cigar to the car floor. "Sergeant, I want to know what happened. NOW!" The sergeant picked up a radio, shouting in his native tongue.
Balalaika got out of the car as soldiers took secure positions around the convoy. She stopped in her tracks as she saw it.
The large hotel appeared again, slowly falling to the side, only being caught by its sister building. Glass, debris and bodies fell from the fallen colossus, soon followed by the drowning sound of gunfire. "My God." Balalaika whispered, staring as if in a trance. She shook it off and ran over to the nearest radio operator. "I want a Base of operations set up now! we do not lose the tower!" The man nodded, repeating the orders into the radio. Balalaika then ran to the sedan behind hers, opening the door. "I'm sorry mr. okajima, but-" She stopped when she realized she was speaking to an empty vehicle.

Rock and Revy both sat up as the ground shook, sleep leaving their bodies. "The fuck was that?" revy yelled to the driver. He ignored her, instead grabbing his radio and speaking in a hushed Russian voice.
A look of frustration crossed her face, and she slowly leaned back. "hey rock, lets go take a look outside." she whispered, leaning towards the door. they both quietly got out of the car, then stopped in awe. Hotel Moscow's base of operation was leaning against its sister building, smoke billowing from the bottom. "holy shit." Rock muttered, not moving. Revy grabbed his hand and ducked into an alley. "We gotta get outta here Rock, its not our fight." Rock looked at her, with shock in his eyes. "Revy! We cant just leave them! Besides, they have soldiers, we'd be safer there!" Revy opened her mouth to respond, but hushed him as Balalaika walked over to the car they were in. She quickly stood up, looking for them. "Rock, regardless of how safe we would be, they have their own interests, we cant trust them right now." Revy whispered, watching as the tall blonde Russian walked out of sight. Rock pulled away from revy and started walking towards the convoy, the rain now a pelting downpour. Revy stood up to yell at him, but stopped as a low whistling slowly drowned out the gunfire and rain. her eyes grew wide and she grabbed rock's hand, pulling him back into the alleyway. The mortar hit the car they were in minutes before, causing the vehicle to explode, knocking Rock into Revy as fire shot into the sky. blackness enveloped both of them.

Revy woke up first, the sound of rain and footsteps and gunfire alerting her. She tried to get up, but something was on top of her. Rock was still unconscious, his arms wrapped protectively around her. His head was on her shoulder, and she smiled for a second, putting a hand on his head. "Rock, we gotta move, its not safe here." She whispered, illiciting a groan from the man. A frown overcame her face when he didnt open his eyes. "Goddammit Rock. You pick the worst fucking times to pass out!" She rolled the unconscious Rock off of her and stopped. A sizable piece of shrapnel stuck out of Rock's side.
She soon heard screaming and coughing coming from all around her. A burned body lay inches from the alley entrance. Revy leaned over Rock, taking a deep breath before pulling the jagged metal shard from his side. Blood began to slowly seep from the wound, and she pressed her hand over it, shaking.
"Goddammit Rock, don't you die on me now!" She yelled at him, blood dripping between her fingers. Tears began to pour down her face, dripping and mixing with the blood and rain and mud on the ground.
She could feel his heartbeat becoming fainter with each passing second, her hands doing little to stop the bloodflow. Putting more pressure on the wound, she leaned over his face, her tears dropping onto his paling cheeks. "Please... Please don't leave me..." was all she could say as the rain pelted both of the two bodies in the alley.
