OH GOSH GUYS IM SO SORRY I HAVEN'T BEEN UPDATING! SO MUCH WORK! ANYWAY I WILL BE TRYING TO DO MY BEST AND CATCH UP! HERE'S ANOTHER CHAPTER FOR YOU~
Masrur stood and swung Mari from side to side before placing her down on the floor again. His face was a bit red and Mari giggled.
"I'm sorry, onii-chan..." Mari gave another small kiss to Masrur chin.
"You really...you really scared me..." His arms collapsed around her again. "I was so...afraid...couldn't find you..." His head rested on her shoulder and gave a small sigh.
"I'm really sorry."
"But you got stabbed! At the arena!" Realization came over him and he held Mari away from him, inspecting where the stab had been. He ran his hand over the torn clothes where she'd been hit and his eyes became worried. Her small hand held his and she smiled.
"It's fine." She kissed the tip of his thumb.
"A nice young man helped me." She gave another smile and Masrur slumped over, relaxing a bit.
"Thank gods for that."
"MARI-CHAN!" Out of nowhere, Aladdin rambled into sight, his face full of tears.
"Ah! Ala-kun...?" She said, before being tackled by him.
"I was so worried!" He cried, rolling them both around on the floor. Mari giggled.
"I'm sorry for that..." She waited until he was ready to sit up and she dusted off her clothes.
"What is all the commotion about?" Ja'far walked out into the hall and stopped dead in his tracks.
"MARI!"
"aha..." Mari gave a smile and a wave and Ja'far's face dropped as her picked her up from the ground and swung her.
"I have been worried sick about you!" He let his lips touch her forehead.
She gasped a bit, smiling as he gave a blush. "Sorry."
"Is my father...?"
"He's resting now. He's been a bit tired for a while."
"I...understand..." Mari looked down a bit upset. She caused all of this. All of this...pain.
"Could you tell him I'm sorry when he wakes up?" Mari swayed, nervously.
"That makes it sound like you're going somewhere." Ja'far's eyes shifted.
"No no!" She smiled. "It's just, I don't plan on seeing him for a while."
"What?!" Ja'far's shocked face made her giggle.
"N-nevermind." She said again, swinging around.
"Don't you nevermind me!" He growled out but Mari had already skipped down the hall like she owned the place.
When she got to the room she remembered as "hers" she closed the door and sighed sliding down to the floor, inspecting the dirt and grime that covered her. She touched the fabric of her clothes and thought of Ata. He was pretty upset when she left, but she mentally thanked him for being so helpful. She undid her top clothes exposing the dress she had underneath. It was a bit wrinkled and dusty from all of the activities she'd had that day. The sweet purple dress was still beautiful, which made Mari smile in turn.
She twirled the edges and smiled down at herself. Her hair was back to it's purple self and the ache that had been where she had been stabbed was gone.
She was okay.
Safe and okay.
She crept slowly towards the bed, her small hands reaching out to smooth over the soft covers. The sheets were chilly and crisp and the gold design over the bed swirled around, drawing her attention. She may have seemed like a trained assassin but she was still a little girl.
She was just about to climb into the bed when she froze.
She'd never had a bed before.
Never.
And the bed seemed so big compared to her, it seemed almost unnecessary.
Her thoughts kept her quiet until there were loud footsteps that could be heard from the hall. Now that wasn't normal. They seemed to big and heavy to be anyone she'd already met. Even Masrur couldn't be that big.
She snuck back to the door and pressed her ear up against the wood. The heavy footsteps were getting closer and closer.
It was getting almost scary. What if it was a monster?
She quickly shook the idea from her mind. Although evil people didn't scare her one bit, the thought of monsters and scary animals made her want to cry.
But she had to be brave.
She slowly cracked the door open and peered out into the hall and what she saw made her stand still.
A giant blue monster looked down at her. A large scar streaked across it's face and...well that was about all Mari would allow herself to see before she shut the door tight.
She scrambled under the bed quickly and put her face in her hands.
A big blue monster!
There was a loud bang on the door and some kind of irritated sigh. Then the door burst open, making Mari squeak.
"Ah.." There was another sigh and padding footsteps walking further into the room.
"Now where did you go?" A loud, yet slight voice asked.
She said nothing and closed her eyes tight hoping that if she was quiet, the monster would go away.
"I know I may seem scary but I'm not." The deep voice echoed through the room. Mari peeked out a bit from under the bed, a large shadow meeting her.
She squeaked drawing the monsters attention.
"There you are!" It said all to loudly. Mari scrambled from under the bed, between it's legs, and out the door. She ran down the hall holding her hands over her mouth to keep from screaming. She was sure everyone was sleeping because of how worried they had been earlier. She didn't want to cause anymore trouble and wake someone up.
"Oi!" A loud voice echoed down the hall, directly at her. She muffed a squeak and continued to run down the hall without any idea of where she was headed.
Seeing a glint of light at the end of the hall she quickly sped up and burst through the door, not caring anymore who was around. The only thing her eyes could define were the walls and the bed and she took that to her advantage, slipping under the bed and tucking her knees to her chest, her hand still over her mouth.
A few seconds later there was a knock at the door. To Mari's surprise, there was a muffled answer from above her. He thet not seen (or heard) her rush in?
The doors opened and the deep voice came again.
"SIN!" It yelled, which was probably an exaggeration considering the room echoed heavily.
Mari looked up towards where her fathers body would be. How convenient.
"You're too loud, Hinahoho." Sin groaned, covering his head with soft pillows and covers.
"Sorry." The blue monster grumbled, hesitating at the door.
"What is it?" Sin grunted into the pillows, his head pounding with a splitting headache.
"I thought I saw someone come in here." Hinahoho grumbled, looking around.
"MMmm." Sin muffled into the pillows.
"Sorry to disturb you now." Mari watched as the blue monster turned and shut the doors to the room.
Mari gave a big sigh and rested her head her head down on the cold tiles. There was a rustling of covers and she felt the person above her shift around, becoming comfortable again.
For a long time there was odd silence and Mari began to come out from under the bed when a low voice stopped her.
"Please come back, Mari." The voice mumbled, it was slightly crumpled from the pillows and covers but Mari could hear the words clearly enough.
She slipped from under the bed and out to where the room was now darkened.
She could see the soft covers slightly shifting as he breathed and she giggled when he began to mumble.
"My sweet little angel please come back to me." The low voice came again along with the shifting and grumbling.
Mari placed her hand on the covers, pulling down a bit to expose the purple haired male under the silk covers. He looked so peaceful and yet so irritated. He grumbled at the loss of cooling comfort on his face. Mari placed her small hand on his cheek and he seemed to relax.
His gold eyes blurred open and he stared up into the darkness for a while before realization sunk in.
"MARI!" He jumped from the bed and nearly collapsed on top of her holding her tightly in his arms.
"I thought you were gone." He practically buried his face in her neck, cuddling up against her closely.
"Don't you ever do that to me again, understand?" He grumbled into her skin.
There were footsteps coming closer to the door and before she knew it, Ja'far burst through the door with the huge blue monster beside him.
Mari squeaked and clutched onto her father's robe, which didn't seem to bother him at all.
"What's wrong?" Ja'far seemed quite stressed as it was and his face was pulled into one of concern.
The king mumbled into Mari's neck, but didn't seem to show any signs of letting go.
"That's where the little thing went." The blue monster grumbled, or at least it seemed that way. From the angle her father hugged her, she couldn't see Ja'far's face, nor the monsters face.
She shifted to face Ja'far, her father still clinging to her tightly. She gave a worried look to him and Ja'far glanced over to Hinahoho and then to Mari again.
Everything clicked.
"Ah! It's okay, Mari, Hinahoho is good. He won't harm you." Ja'far reassured. She glanced at Hinahoho and back at Ja'far.
"Uh...maybe if you..." Ja'far began, looking at Hinahoho awkwardly.
"I understand." Hinahoho gave a sigh and exited the king's bedroom. Mari gave slight sigh and turned her attention back to her father. He was still clinging helplessly to her body, his breath warm against he neck.
"Come on now, Sin. Mari has to rest too."
"She can stay with me then."
"No. You know you have an urgent meeting tomorrow and you won't be able to focus if she's around."
"But..."
"You are formally Mari suspended. Come here darling." Ja'far gestured to Mari and she took his hand much to Sin's dismay. He squeezed her tightly and glared up at Ja'far.
"I can focus! I promise!" He groaned into her hair, big gold eyes practically begging.
"I know you can't." Ja'far tugged Mari away and she stood, leaving her father in a shaky mess on the floor.
Sin grumbled, rubbing at his eyes.
"Daddy's tired." Mari leaned down and kissed the top of his head. "Goodnight, daddy." She waved and Sin seemed to relax, standing and giving her a big kiss on her forehead.
"Goodnight, my princess." She smiled and exited the room with Ja'far holding her small hands.
