Gray Fox and the Hellhound
Chapter Five: Your Pain is Mine
After departing from the Immediate Murder Professionals office, the fox and the hellhound drove through the streets of the city, Loona tapping away at her phone before taking a picture of herself and Gray Fox before posting. 'Out on the town with my man' was more than enough to bring the likes and comments flooding in, some envious, obviously, and then there were several congratulating her as well as commenting about how good her man looked, as well as some insulting his scars, which she chose to block.
"So, what's the plan, Foxy?" She asked, looking up from her phone. "Just us today."
"I know a few places." He stated. "But one place does stick out."
"Do tell." Loona smirked.
Without a word, Fox took another turn before arriving at what like a massive shopping mall complex, the neon sign displaying the worlds 'Hellbound Megaplex' on the roof of the complex. Loona looked at the size of the building with impressed eyes.
"Ever been here before?" Fox asked.
"This place? Nah." Loona said with a shake of her head. "Blitzo could never afford a trip like this."
"After all the work we did?" Fox raised a brow.
"Too busy blowing it on horses." Loona rolled her eyes before turning to face him.
Looking at him now without the mask, she truly took in his look; despite the scar across his face and the scar running down his cheek, he still looked quite handsome, his silver hair slicked back and reaching his shoulder and his sharp, piercing gray eyes staring back into her crimson eyes. Despite his age, she found the sinner to be quite handsome.
"Shall we?" Fox smiled, offering his arm.
"We shall." Loona returned the smile, wrapping an arm around his before the two walked inside.
Upon walking in, the two were greeted with how massive the inside looked, the inside having several shops inside, a massive fountain at the center of the mall, as well as restaurants inside.
"Whoa." Loona gaped with an impressed expression.
"Thought you might like it." Fox said with a smirk. "One of the biggest shopping malls in all of the underworld."
"And the perfect place for a date, eh?" Loona looked up at him with a wiggle of her eyebrows.
"Most definitely." Fox nodded. "Come, let's make the most of it."
And so, the two began their trip throughout the mega mall, going through the various shops, buying clothes, several phone cases, and even ate at some of the restaurants, getting a little bit of everything at each place.
The two then found themselves on a carousel, the couple sitting in one of the wagons as the carousel went around.
"I've had a great time, Fox." Loona said as she leaned against the sinner's shoulder.
"I'm glad to hear that." Fox nodded. "I've been planning for this for quite some time, but due to work…"
"No need to stress over it, Fox." Loona smiled. "It's happening now and I'm glad."
"It warms my heart to hear you say that." Fox returned the smile. "Everyone deserves some level of happiness."
The two sat in silence, before Loona spoke up.
"Fox, I've got some questions." She said.
"Feel free to ask." Fox nodded.
"How'd you end up dying in the first place?" She asked.
Once again, there was silence, Loona noticing the pale expression on his face before he responded.
"The whole story of the short version?"
"Just what you're comfortable with sharing." Loona stated.
Fox took a moment to think before speaking, "I was a child soldier; used by the CIA for their 'Perfect Soldier' Project."
"Then you were saved by Big Bro?" Loona said.
"That's right." Fox nodded. "It was thanks to him that I tried to lead a normal life. I even fell in love with a figure skater from Russia and we tried to elope."
"What happened then?" Loona frowned.
"She was denied U.S. citizenship and was stripped of her competition right." Fox growled. "Ever since then, I had grown to hate the Cold War politics."
"Politics in general suck ass." Loona snarled.
"They always do." Fox nodded. "Anyways, later on I served in the Special Forces Unit called FOXHOUND; all caps, by the way, being the only member to receive the highest commendation, awarded with the codename 'Fox'."
"That'd explain you taking on the form of a gray fox." Loona nodded.
"After reuniting with Big Boss, I joined him in Zanzibar Land." Fox said. "I hated war, but I could never walk away from the battlefield, no matter how hard I tried. Eventually, I had one last battle with my longtime friend: Solid Snake. I was supposed to die in the end…but I didn't."
Loona cocked her head a bit as Fox continued, "I was brought back as a cyborg, trapped in the world of the living, once again to be a weapon of war. Before I crossed paths with Snake once more, hoping to feel the release once more."
"Most people would see being given another chance at life a good thing." Loona said. "But from the sound of it, you were made to suffer constantly."
"It was a constant struggle to maintain who I was." Fox nodded. "The only thing that kept me going were my best friend…and my sister, Naomi."
"What's Naomi like?" Loona asked.
"She was young, when I killed her parents." Fox explained with great sorrow. "I couldn't bring myself to kill her too, and I felt so bad that I decided to take her with me and treated her like my own blood to sooth my guilty conscious."
"Fox…" Loona felt her heart clench, her empathy for the sinner increasing.
"On the outside, we may have seemed like a happy brother and sister," Fox continued with sad eyes. "But every time I looked at her, I saw her parent's eyes staring back at me." His eyes squeezed shut, a tear running down his check. "Even then, she grew to see me as her brother, and I could never tell her how I was the reason her parents died."
Loona allowed it to sink in, feeling the memories of her trauma surfacing, before pushing it down, placing her hands on Fox's.
"I understand where you're coming from, Fox." The hellhound said. "We both have been through that kind of shit, but know this; no matter how bad things get…" She then leaned in closer. "We'll always have each other."
Fox looked into her red eyes, fox and hound locking eyes before leaning closer, then their lips made contact, their tongues wrestling in their mouths, before wrapping their arms around one another.
"Ey, this ain't a sex carousel!" The ride operator yelled.
In response, one of the horses was thrown at him before the couple would leave, going into a hotel and locking the door behind them.
Back at the I.M.P. office, the Boss stood in the kitchen, naked save for an apron, flipping a pancake before taking notice of Blitzo entering the room, wearing only his boxers.
"Sleep well?" She asked with a smirk.
"Damn, I had no idea you'd be that ferocious in bed!" Blitzo stated.
"I guess it's a lion thing." Boss shrugged. "I read they get very upset when something disrupts their love making."
"Yeah, I read about that." The imp nodded.
The two were silent before the Boss spoke again, "Do you remember how we first met, Blitzo?"
"That time where you were causing a ruckus in the Pride Ring." Blitzo declared. "Raiding one of the warehouses, right?"
"It was to get Jack's attention, yes." Boss nodded. "But you showed up instead, acting like something you weren't."
"Hey, I had you on the ropes, tits!" Blitzo growled.
"Please, I was going easy on you." Boss calmly said with a roll of her eyes. "Then I got tired of playing with you and decided to end the fight." Then she smirked. "Then you grabbed my tail and bit me in the ass."
"You weren't smiling then." Blitzo chuckled.
"Yup, I had you crying and begging for mercy by the time Jack arrived." Boss laughed.
"Hey, it wasn't that bad!" Blitzo protested.
Both laughed at their past interaction before going silent once again.
"You know, Big Boss mentioned something about your 'will'." Blitzo spoke up. "Any idea what he meant by that?"
Boss was silent for a moment, before Blitzo said, "I mean, from the way he spoke to you, it sounded like you were a fallen goddess or something."
Boss gave a sad chuckle before speaking, "I guess you could say I had fallen from grace, in a way."
Blitzo remained silent, allowing the Boss to speak.
"I was patriotic, only wanting what's best for my country," She said. "Even in death, I longed for a world that would be in peace. Not through control, but to respect the will of others."
"Didn't really work out in the end, eh?" Blitzo commented. "I mean, the world is far from 'respecting others'. Hell, say something nasty twenty years ago, show interest in a product based on someone who happens to be bigoted, or make a harmless edgy joke, and you get fuckin' bodied by the cancel culture mob!"
The Boss frowned at this, "Blitzo, I'm not talking about."
"Then what?" Blitzo asked with a raised brow.
"It was-"
Crash!
Both heads spun to see something crash through the office window; several cans with smoke spewing out.
"Tear gas!" Blitzo yelled, both sporting makeshift masks to block the smoke.
Move tear gas filled the room, as the couple made a dash for the stair, only for Blitzo to take a tranquilizer to the rear end.
"Aw, fuck!" Blitzo yelled in slight pain. "Seriously, do I look like a…possssuuuuummmm…"
Just as he was about to yell out something snarky, he started to get sluggish before falling over.
"Hang on, Blitzy!" Boss yelled before slinging the imp over her shoulder before dashing up the stairs in order to get their weapons, but as soon as she swung the door open, she was hit with two tranquilizer darts to her abdomen, the effects causing her to fall over weak.
Her eyes grew heavy, her sight set on the fallen form of Blitzo, before seeing a familiar form wearing a black suit enter her vision. She felt her blood go cold as Skull Face crouched down in front of her.
"We meet again…Boss."
And the new chapter is out! Loona and Fox has a nice heart to heart while Boss confides in Blitzo before being set upon by Skull Face! I think we're about two chapters left after this one before this story comes to an end, but I still have other stories I intend to write more for soon! I hope you guys are looking forward to them!
And with that, I hope to see you guys later and hope you enjoyed this chapter! Reviews are greatly appreciated!
