Temptation overwhelmed Kagome against her better judgment she stopped on a dime. A part of Kagome selfishly wished to stay by Sesshomaru's side. However, she also knew that if she took the demon up on his kind offer that she would be taking advantage of his love for her, just as Inuyasha had done to her..."Kagome...?" Sesshomaru whispered as he reached out a loving arm and placed a gentle hand on her shoulder.

"I don't want to be like him and if I stay I will break your heart. Please, try to understand I'm leaving not because of anything you did. In fact, you're a wonderful person Kagome added with a bittersweet smile. "You deserve someone who can and will love you with their whole heart. I-"

Sesshomaru spun her around and hushed her with a kiss. it was warm and passionate but not tentative or desperate the like others. Instead, it was reassuring and protective. "I know you do not love me ...I do not care ... I do not want anyone else you are my only true love..." Sesshomaru's breath tickled Kagome's ear as he whispered those words. Then he kissed her again this time memorizing the nape of her neck with his lips and tongue.

"You will change your mind" breathed but even then she tightens her grip on him.

Sesshomaru's heart ached because he so wanted to help her. He did not know what she needed from him "Would it be easier for you if I did not touch you?" Sesshomaru asked genuinely searching for an answer.

Kagome felt her heart flutter and her knees quiver That would make things less complicated but I'm not sure I could pretend like nothing happened between us after last night... Thought Kagome. "Then What we just make believe we don't have feelings for each? Do we pretend we never slept together? I am supposed to forget all the things you said to me just last night?" With every question, Kagome was losing the light in her eyes.

"I cannot read your mind Kagome all I want is for you to talk to me... Now, please tell me what you want..." Kagome could not look him in the eye because every word was drowning in desperation.

Then Kagome finally said her greatest wish out loud "Want to find a way to get back home." Her answer came as spontaneously as the hope that overtook her.

"If that is your wish I will make it my mission in life to help you." Sesshomaru said earnestly. "However, for now, could you please lie back down in bed while I get you your breakfast"

"No." Kagome uttered plainly "Not without you..." Kagome blushed with her discomfort but she declined to run away. "Would that be possible? Coul you stay here in bed with me?" Then as if Kagome was fearful that she had asked for too much she loosened her hold on him and took one step backward." Of could I don't want to force you... I mean it's fine if you need some time to yourself."

"Kagome, I love nothing more than to stay here with you," Sesshomaru whispered sweetly while guiding her back to bed.
