Chapter 09: A fight too personal to handle.

As Orion got to the planet that the rangers were on, he saw them fighting as he went and helped out. "You're that Silver Ranger!" the Blue armada ranger said as Naminé looked towards Orion. "Who are you!" She said as Orion looked at her.

"Someone you know...very, very well." Orion said as Tommy came out of the dojo as he was trying to protect the kids against the fleet. However, it was not to be. Orion saw Tommy being slain in front of him as he looked at one of the enemies as Redker laughed. "So, the injured ranger is here, I look forward to killing you, like this worthless human!" Redker laughed some more as Orion clenched his fists.

"You...just killed someone I know!" He said as Redker laughed more but Orion battled him for the second time, morphing into several sixth rangers and using their powers against him. Feeling weak from the fall before, Orion turned the Armada spear into a gun mode, inserted the silver ranger key and initiated the Final Wave move, which made Redker get blown up, but retreated afterwards.

Eventually, the other rangers demorphed and ran to Tommy, who smiled at Naminé and her crew. "I'm sorry...I couldn't help out." He said as he looked to the silver ranger as also the others. "Now...do you mind to tell us who you are...you certainly know who Tommy is!" Naminé said as Orion nodded. "He's my son." He said as he removed his helmet, revealing none other than Manic as Tommy smiled again but coughed up some blood as the kids came out and saw their sensei's.

"No way, he's a power ranger?!" One of them said as Manic demorphed. "But...why Orion?" Naminé said as Manic chuckled. "It was an alias I used to give myself...but you know who I am now." He said as Naminé walked to him as she hugged him. "I am so glad to see you alive..." She said as Manic laughed. "Yeah...I guess the morpher chose me, instead of my son...but why?" Manic said as Tommy coughed more and made Manic move towards him as he held him in his arms, watching his son die, became too much for him. He yelled out so loud, even Arendelle could hear him scream with anger and rage.

"Manic...I'm...I'm sorry." Naminé said as she felt the need to mourn Tommy some other way. "I'll give him a decent burial...that's the least I can do!" Manic said as he saw the dojo on fire. "C'mon kids, outta there...you don't want to burn or die there do you!" He said as everyone evacuated the dojo.

"C'mon...let's get him out of here." Naminé said as the other armada rangers nodded. "Are you coming onto our ship Manic?" She said as Manic nodded but said that he needed to head back to Arendelle. "Oh we passed that on the way to here! Sure, we can stop there for a moment." She said as Manic thanked Naminé as he demorphed to his normal clothes.

They decided to stay a while longer, not to train to gain new keys, but to mourn the loss of Tommy and to bury him well.

The next few days took it's toll on Manic. He couldn't believe that his own son was slain in front of him as he looked at Tommy's headstone which had the dragon coin carved into it. As he looked on, he looked at his key and morpher and shook his head as Naminé walked up. "C'mon...let's go, time for Tommy to rest." She said as Manic nodded. "Yeah, let my son rest...goodbye green ranger." Manic said as he looked at the headstone one final time before the ship left and Manic stayed in his room for the remainder of the journey, but Naminé wanted to remember the best times they had with Tommy, which made Manic laugh from old times all the way to when they had to sacrifice their powers. Tommy was fine with it, he knew it had to happen, but he was fine with settling down and no longer being a power ranger.

"I remember when Tommy was ten years old...this was before we met and became the power rangers...he did well in school, got good grades, did karate well. He was going to become a pro fighter at one stage in his life...then this...man we had some good times together. I always thought it was cramped in the white shogun zord and white falconzord when we used to use it." Manic said as they both laughed.

"Yeah, I still remember people looking at Tommy like he wasn't there when that hot day came along, do you remember. We were fixing up the power chamber after the attack...just before we had to sacrifice our powers, and Tommy like a loon, came in with sunburn on his shoulders...it's funny to say it now, but then, Tommy couldn't even join us, let alone fight." Naminé said as the two friends talked about Tommy all the time until they got to their destination of Arendelle.

"Well here we are Manic...are you sure you're fine?" Naminé said as Manic nodded. "Yeah, I needed that...it was good to think of the good things about Tommy and not the bad things...it got rid of the mourning that I needed to do." He said as he walked off the ship. "I'll be back soon, don't worry. Stay here...or just wander round and see what this place has to offer!" Manic said as he walked to the castle gates, only to be denied access.

"I'm here to see Elsa...I promised her I'd be back." Manic said as the guard recognised him as the silver ranger. "Go right ahead...thanks for kicking those monster butts by the way!" He said as Manic nodded. "It's no problem, I'll do it again if needs be!" He said as he walked into the castle and admired most of it until he got to the room that he was placed in. There she was, standing looking out of the window.

"What's wrong?" Manic said as Elsa turned around and saw Manic look at her. "Orion!" She said as she ran to him and hugged him. "you came back!" She said as Manic nodded. "I keep my promises...but I had to bury my son." He said as Elsa looked at him. "You never told me you had a son...but who was he?" She said as she looked puzzled.

"Remember, I told you about Tommy...the green ranger?" Manic said as she nodded. "Well...that's my son. He got killed by the same person that nearly made me die." He said as he looked at her.

okay, so there must be some confusion in what keys they have and what they haven't. I will clear it up here and now.

in the next few chapters, the rangers WILL be getting more keys (I plan on writing in some more keys to be found and a new enemy who can control the keys as his own set of evil rangers like Basco)
