Chapter 1 - A surprise letter

June 3rd found Harry in the library reading in one of the secluded plush arm chairs. Just two days ago he battled the basalik in the chamber and the soul of Tom Riddle. God he was disgusted. Tom riddle was a half blood with outdated pure blood beliefs he cheated death by putting his soul in that diary which almost killed Ginny.

Ginny. She was still in the hospital wing recovering from the ordeal. He couldn't get the image of Ginny surrounded by bloody water half dead out of his head. In fact he'd found himself routinely checking up on her. Something drew him to her but he couldn't put a finger on it.

He was confused by some of the feelings he felt inside the chamber. When he fought the great snake he felt his magic like had come home finally completing him. When he stabbed the diary he felt cold seep out and warmth seep in filling him with courage and strength to go on. Now though he stopped questioning it and just accepting.

The Great chamber Chase as it had become known to them happened only last Friday now it was Monday.

On any normal day Harry wouldn't bother being in the library but when you earn an award for special services to the school suddenly everyone wishes to talk to you. Asking some of the most mundane or traumatising questions which make Harry strongly uncomfortable. That was why he was hiding in the deserted library. Only he and Madam Prince were there even Hermione was outside enjoying the summers day after being petrified for so long.

It was when he refocused on the book open in his lap that everything changed.

A blinding flash of light with a small fizzle came from the direction of his lap.

When he looked down what he least expected was to see a neatly rolled parchment which emitted a light magical aura. Gingerly he untied the red ribbon tying it together and unrolled the parchment.

Dear Mr.Potter,

It has come to the goblins knowledge that you are nearing the age of 13. While this normally means nothing for you it means everything.

Certain events have left you rather challenged. However because of one of these you are legally able to claim your inheritance. This is because for any Ancient and Noble house the sole living heir when nearing 13 are legally able to claim what is theirs under the old laws that we goblins of Gringotts follow.

Please come at your earliest convenience. Simply tap the parchment with your wand and say Gringotts

Ragnok

Director of Lind Gringotts and Accountant to the Ancient and Noble House Of Potter.

Confusion was one word to describe Harry's thoughts. Surprise and shock were more. He re read the letter a few minutes later to ensure he wasn't dreaming.

He wasn't.

Slowly he lifted his wand feeling uncertain about what he'd find. Before he tapped the parchment and said clearly but still quietly "Gringotts"
