Chapter 1: A last action and new start

I hope you enjoy this one.

1997 Hogwarts Scotland, Magical Britain

Harry Potter had a short difficult life. He had experienced some laughter and love, but far more heartbreak and death. Yet today it was all over, today he had finally defeated the monster that had slaughtered his parents, responsible for his godfather's death and so many years of pain and torture. In fact responsibility for everything since that Halloween in 1981 could be laid at the feet of Voldemort! The man had hunted Harry and had a single minded determination to make the boy suffer. But it was over now, it was over and looking around the ruined Great Hall at Hogwarts Harry had to wonder if it hadn't been at too high of a price?

His footsteps carried him past the corpses of Tonks and Remus, his parents last good friend now dead next to his young wife. A promise echoed through his mind that he would have to be there for their son Teddy who he had been named Godfather of. He stopped for a moment to stare at the corpse of Seamus Finnigan, a dorm-mate and friend despite their argument in fifth year. The boy had a funny and friendly side of him that always could make Harry laugh. It was perhaps bitterly ironic that he had died in fiendfyre and the lower half of his body had been destroyed, the top only surviving after he apparated out by sheer willpower. Next to him the body of Dean Thomas who had been locked up at the Malfoy Estate earlier in the year. The boy had been free to run to the continent with a way out but instead had decided to stay and help all other muggleborns out there. He died fighting taking out five Death Eaters at once. An amazing feet for the boy obsessed with football.

Harry continued to walk down the hallway passing many faces he knew even if he didn't know them well. Another thing to regret from his time here in Hogwarts, he never reached out to others besides his small click till fifth year. If others knew him perhaps they wouldn't had been so capable of flipping their opinion about him like the flip of a coin. Harry glanced to the side and grimaced at the sight of Susan Bones and Hannah Abbott both girls he had become very familiar with during his fifth and sixth year. Both so full of life and laughter and now both gone forever. This war had too high of a cost by far to extinguish a pair like these two so young.

To Harry part of his mind saw the death and destruction but it was numb. It almost felt like he was watching the end of a movie or finishing an epic tale, and what he saw was the cost of victory. It was less emotional then he expected, as he was surprised he could keep going without dropping to his knees and cursing the world for the death here. Too many good people, and he had not even reached the end of the line where the worst was by far. His eyes lingered on the trio of red heads and beautiful blonde next to them.

The twins with Bill and Fleur stood over a small group of bodies. The three young men were the only members of the Weasley family to escape the final battle. Their mother and father both struck down by Bellatrix LeStrange before Bill ended her with a rare Egyptian spell that she had not expected. Next to the husband and wife who had taken Harry into their home was young Ginny who had been murdered by the aforementioned witch moments before her mother had challenged her. Percy's cold body had been found under the robes of a Death Eater but in the end he was blood so he was placed next to the family.

Harry didn't dare speak to any of the surviving Weasley family members. Besides what could he say? Sorry your mother and father died fighting in a war for me? Sorry your sister who had obsessed over me died wanting to be like me and save others? In truth he did feel guilt even if it was he was detached from it in a strange way.

Next to the family was the last pair that Harry wanted to see. The pair that he wanted to see have a happy future together. His best mate and the young woman that he felt had been a sister to him. Both of them pale, frozen forever in death together. There were bite marks up and down their chest and arms. But in Hermione's hand the sword of Gryffindor was still held tight. It was coated in blood from the snake that too their lives just as they killed it at the same time. They had ended the last Horcrux as Harry dueled against Voldemort. They gave their lives for the Greater Good, ending the monster's last grip on this world so Harry could put him forever in the ground.

It was her death that hit Harry the most out of anyone. She was the girl who was so like him, always an outsider. She had come from loneliness and found a new world filled with hope. That same world had bitter elements but it could be better and yet in the end that world had killed her! Harry gently lowered himself down to kneel, his fingertips shaking as they reached out to close her chocolate brown eyes. They were empty just as he felt inside.

He didn't speak, nor did he glance anywhere else around the room almost afraid of who else he might see. Instead he turned and walked from the Great Hall, slipping past the new Headmistress McGonagall without a word and out into the night. He did not look up to where he was going, he just let his feet carry him under the starlight. He never even noticed when he picked up a shadow behind him.

The young man only glanced up when he came to a stop at the middle of the bridge. There below him was a drop hundreds of feet deep. Enough to end the world around him, enough to toss away something that had caused so much pain in the world. Slowly he pulled the Elder Wand out of his sleeve and stared at it. A frown crossed his lips as his fingertips ran along the elderberry wood. It was so unlike anything he had ever seen before in a wand, he could feel the power strum through it like Eric Clapton playing guitar. It felt warm, magical, and pulled at the feelings. He turned and looked back downwards at the drop below him when a voice spoke up behind him."There are still some of us left Harry..."

The emerald eyed boy spun around to stare at the girl, the voice alone gave her away as only one person had just a kind dreamy quality to their voice. It was soothing as it was mysterious. A small sad smile crossed his lips, "Luna, I wasn't going to..."

"I know what you were going to do Harry Potter. But, you are not alone. Still if you truly feel it is time to wake up I understand..." The silver eyed blonde girl started with a calm clarity that was surprising.

"What do you mean?" Harry blinked in confusion a frown of confusion marring his lips, something that Luna had the ability to do in anyone."I wasn't going to jump."

"Just what I said Harry, You were going to wake up. Do you think it is time to wake up?" She tilted her head to the side causing one slender curl of blonde to fall over her cheek to the corners of her mouth where she couldn't seem to help herself but to chew on it slightly.

"I..." Harry started before Luna continued over him, "You found the wand and the stone, you had the cloak before right?"

"How did you know about the stone?" Harry glanced downwards to his left pocket with a frown.

The elfish girl simply shrugged with a smile, her eyes seeming to capture the light from her namesake in the sky and sparkle, "Are you going to wake up and leave?"

"I want to wake up from this nightmare Luna. They are all dead and it is my fault!" Harry snapped out angry suddenly at himself.

"It is not your fault, anymore then it was my fault for what happened to mother. But, what I say won't change that any more than what you said to me before changed how I felt. The nargles make certain that we don't understand it." She nodded once to herself as if her words mad perfect sense.

Harry stared at her as the anger faded like the tide being swept away. It was one of the reasons he cared for this girl, she could sooth him and change his feeling so easily. She was truly a friend that understood him. "I was going to break the wand so nobody could ever find it anymore. It has caused enough death and destruction."

"I don't think it works that way but it is up for you to decide what you want to do Harry..." Luna stepped forward and gave him a small hug before a gentle surprising kiss on the lips, "Know that you are always my friend Harry no matter your what you do."

After she spoke those words the beautiful and strange girl smiled before she turned and skipped off almost ignorant of the piles of destruction around the castle.

Harry could not help himself as he watched her go for a time before he shook off his confusion. Perhaps nargles really were real and infecting him? He looked back down at the wand and frowned, "No, it can not be allowed to survive too many evil men have used it in this world."

He took tight hold of the wand on each side and snapped it wanting to toss it over the side of the bridge into the ravine. But when Harry snapped it a large flash of light surrounded him before an explosion took place. The light of the explosion was powerful enough that it seemed a second moon had risen in the sky over Scottland. The ancient castle of Hogwarts rocked back and forth as if an earthquake had struck it. When the light cleared a bridge was no more leaving a young pale blonde girl standing at the edge of it staring back where her friend left. She whispered to herself as a tear streamed down her cheek for sadness of what she had lost and what could have been, "Good bye Harry Potter, I wish you good luck."

~~~ ADF ~~~
The world was a shower of lights. All of the colors of a rainbow screamed before his eyes as Harry was flung in the explosion. It could have been an amazing experience except the young was was somersaulting the whole time. At first it was a pain in the ass the flipping, but that turned into his stomach rolling around. Just when he thought he would die from his stomach exploding it stopped.
Unfortunately for Harry the way it stopped was from him meeting the ground. Or at least for him it was a paved strip of the ground he slammed hard into. His body hit so hard he actually bounced. Harry could hear his arm shattering as it slammed against the ground, pain shrieking all over his body. His eyes rolled back into his head and he blacked out.
The first thing that came to Harry as he started to come back to the world of the living was screams. Screams were something he was familiar with after the war. He had experienced them from allies and enemies. Heck with how he arrived it could easily have been his own voice screaming out in pain. But these screams were coming from others around him, not the screams of battle but the cries of terror.
The second thing that came to mind for Harry was the pain. His body felt like he had been used as a beaters bat against the wall by a troll. He found feel sharp pain shooting up his arms, especially his left. His ribs felt like more than a few were cracked from the shooting pain from his gasping breaths. For a few moments he sat there and breathed using the occlumency, which he finally figured out while on the run, to push the pain away and clear his mind. If he could have seen a mirror the young man would have seen cuts sickeningly deep knitting on is face healing on their own.
Harry pushed himself onto his feet. He was still in the jeans and shirt from the day of the battle but now a cloak layered over his back and shoulders. The cloak was his father's he could tell right away from the material, a familiar warmth seeped from it taking away some of the pain. His brilliant emerald eyes opened to look around into a scene of mass chaos. In fact it was so crazed that even his arrival didn't seem to be an event of notice.
His eyes swept around his surroundings and came back with three facts. First, he definitely was not at Hogwarts anymore. Second, he appeared to be in some city, which used English as a primary language from the bright neon Apollo sign and pizza place on the corner to the skyscrapers in the background with the name STARK in bright letters. Which to Harry's concussed mind meant it was either part of London he hadn't been to, which was most of it, or America. The more pressing fact was that half of the street had been destroyed, a number of store fronts had been blown out and fires raged through them. It looked like a war-zone, and the bodies around him of military soldiers and civilians. Why were there so much damage? Well that answer became obvious right away.
There was massive hulking green beast that could make Hagrid look small. The huge green monster had muscles bulging larger than Harry's head! His forearms were thick as his whole body. The creature had black hair and eyes, that seemed to glow with power. He was truly a frightening sight even for a young man who had faced Dragons, Basilisk and Dementors! The creature was fighting a monster even larger than it!
The other monster looked like something from nightmares with a bald head that looked like the gray skin was pulled back stretched over a skull. A mouth with lips pulled back to display rows of pointed teeth that looked large enough to rip off limbs. The beast was even taller then the Hulking creature it fought. This abomination had muscles along the arms but bones sticking out of the flesh along it's back. It's chest was large rib cages almost like a skeleton has been reversed. It was a sight to inspire nightmares and would make Malfoy piss himself faster then you could say spoiled.
The monsters were locked in combat ripping up street signs, tearing apart store fronts. One would slam the other into buildings collapsing them. Neither noticed nor cared about the innocent bystanders while they were locked in their grudge match. A smart man would flee the vicinity of the dangerous fight. A cautious man would study the situation and then react. But, while Harry might be those, he was first and foremost someone that helped others in pain. What he saw and heard was something he could not ignore. So when the Abomination picked up an injured solider on the ground and flung him at the other Hulking beast he had to react, secrecy of wizardry be damned. He wouldn't let the man be killed by these monsters!
Harry raised his hand, not even realizing the lack of wand, as he summoned the man to him wandlessly and wordlessly. His sheer will saved the man was splattering against a wall and instead found him stopping to hover before Harry. There he gently lowered him down. He looked down and checked the man to see that he was still breathing. His hand pressed against a deep cut along his chest as he whispered, "Episkey."
The wound on the man's chest started to seal to the point that would not bleed out hopefully before help could arrive. Harry never noticed the eyes of the General on him as he stood on a broken leg in a downed helicopter. Instead Harry looked up in time to see a Buick that had been picked up by the Hulking beast being tossed past the Abomination towards a group of soldiers that were firing at the pair. The young man reacted without thought as raised his hand calling out, "Wingardium Leviosa!"
The four seater car stopped in midair just before crushing the soldiers and saving their lives. The young man waved his hand and flung it back at the two monsters adding a silent blasting charm to it. The car slammed into the back of the abomination causing the creature to stutter forward. It did no actual damage to the monster but at least put it off-guard as the Hulk took the chance to grab hold of it's arm and fling it down the block into a store front.
The Hulk started to turn towards the other monster when instead it saw the General standing in the crashed helicopter. It leaned forward and let out a roar so powerful that a shock-wave flung the General along with others off their feet. The beast then sprinted down the block towards the Abomination.
Harry took a moment to take in is surroundings. His eyes raced over the numerous fires and bodies on the ground. Then he started to summon each of them to him, alive or dead to try to get them out of the way. Perhaps moving them wasn't the best option but in the background he could hear the shattering or bricks and destruction of buildings from the two titanic behemoths fighting. When he had a pile of twenty bodies he knelt and checking them over one by one trying with quick weak healing spells and stasis spells to help where possible for loses alive.
The young mage was interrupted from his work when a hand fell onto his shoulder. He tensed up and looked up at the American military General standing there. The man removed his hand from Harry's shoulder when he felt him tense up, "I don't know who you are lad, but thank you for helping them. I have radioed for reinforcements are coming to assist these men and women."
"That is what I do, kick ass ans save people...Sir" Harry responded with a shrug If he was in the US military at least he might as well try to make a positive impression. He noticed the man trying to look at his face and for the first time realized the hood of his cloak was up covering it. "There are a few that will need further assistance to make it but they should pull through. Those seven though..."
General Ross could see the grimace on the young man's lips knowing what he was going to say. It wasn't the first time he lost men and wouldn't be the last. This time though he felt it was his fault. It was his mess and he would fix it. He came here intending to end this once and for all. Capture the Hulk and see this Abomination be put down. Instead the two monsters were in the middle of tearing apart a neighborhood in one of the greatest cities in the USA. The British accent of the young man through him off but these special types had been popping up lately to help in the US. What was to stop one from coming from overseas? "You did good lad. If there is anything you ever need just ask for General Ross. I remember my debts... I will..."
Whatever was about to be said further was interrupted by the Hulk being physically flung past the pair of them into a store a half dozen yards away. It brought back a stark realization that this wasn't over by far. Harry looked up and met the gaze of the Abomination as it was charging down the street.
"The party seems to be back! Let the fun begin!" The young wizard raised both hands up before spreading his fingers pointing at pieces of the rubble around at the changing monster. They started to shift and change in seconds becoming ten stone replica of his godfather's animagus, "Padfoot swarm!"
The hounds started to attack the legs and back of the monster causing it to stumble in surprise. It started to swing widely each time it's fist connected with one of the stone creations they shattered into pebbles.
But Harry was not standing idle while this was going on. Instead he started to transfigure the pebbles and other rubble into rats. A swarm of them started to be created numbering in the dozens which soon joined the hounds in their assault. Once the monster was distracted Harry started to chant under his breath in Latin as he pointed his right hand at a fire hydrant. The hydrant burst causing water to spurt into the air. The stream of water never hit the ground instead becoming captured in a growing ball which started to mass together. Thin slivers of water started to steam out of the mass, long as javelins which froze over before shooting at the distracted monster.
The first few that hit the Abomination seemed to shatter not even getting it's attention. But, at Harry kept up at it they started to chip off pieces into the monster breaking the hide and causing it to bleed. The monster let out a scream of pure rage raising it's left hand towards the wizard to point. It called out in a guttural voice, "Don't take a hand in this fight! The Hulk is mine to kill!"
Harry instead of reacting instead used the monsters distraction to call out, "Sectumsempra!" The left hand of the beast fell the ground as if cut off by an invisible sword and started to gush blood. Harry couldn't help but quip. "A hand you say?" This had an unfortunate side effect where the creature turned towards Harry with it's attention where it started to sprint at him.
A marble wall rose up before the abomination which was then shattered to nothing by the beast charging through it head first. Nor did a spear of marble which pierced the left thigh of the monster do much either. The abomination continued seeming to get stronger as it did raising it's right hand upwards cocked back onto slam it forward to crush the insect in it's way.
"A bit hard headed aren't you!" Harry was starting to sweat as the beast shrugged up blasting curses and barreled through granite. It moved faster then expected as it reached him. He channeled as much power as possible before pushing it forward before him "scutum aureum!"
A golden shield formed before him made out of light burning bright as the sun. It appeared just in time as the Abomination's fist crashed into it causing a echoing ring to fill the street. It was so powerful that windows shattered, car alarms went off and both Harry and the monster went flying backwards.
Harry was flung through a storefront's broken window and then a brick wall of the shop to end up in an alleyway. The world for the second time that day started to spun and go black.
Author Note: A different entrance for the marvel universe. I noticed most of the stories start with harry making friends with Stark or somehow getting into the Avengers project right away. But in this one Harry ended up in the middle of the Hulk vs Abomination fight. I was thinking of having him interact a bit with the x-men since there would be a few years before the Avengers started up.
