Chapter 1: A Breakout plan
Notice: I do not own Harry Potter or Naruto. I do not make any money on either product as both owners are worth far more than I ever will hope to earn in a dozen lifetimes. Any characters or power/spells or anything else from there is owned by them. I do not claim rights or anything else for it. I am just playing around in their sandbox since their works are very interesting. Also please note there is only a slight crossover with Naruto in this storyline.
Sirius Black had a plan. Well it was partly a plan, partly a shoot by the hip. He had always been a shoot by the hip person even when a Auror and it normally worked out pretty good if you ignored that stint in Azkaban prison. But considering he had spent more time tile normal on this plan it should work out for him. His sixteen year old godson, Harry James Potter, whom was actually his cousin from the confusing Black family tree returned from Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry from his fourth year.
While the schooling started at thirteen years old, Sirius knew that the past four years had been terrible for his godson. The first year according to what he had been told Harry had been forced to kill one of his own teachers to survive. When this fact was revealed in addition the fact that it seemed Harry had never seen a med-witch over the possible psychological issues that could come from it worried Sirius.
When you couple this with the information that the Weasley boy Ron had let known about Harry's second year and Sirius became furious. The young man had been outed as a parseltongue, a rare gift that most fools saw as dark but Sirius knew better. His grandfather had taught him from a young age there is no light or dark magic there is only magic and the individual chooses what is good and evil purposes it is put up to. The fact that most of the school had turned against Harry because of his gift and his godson had been forced to kill a giant snake that killed with the use of it's eyes and poison made Sirius want to pull Harry out of school.
Sadly the third year of Harry's schooling was the reason he could not just pull out his godson till he turned an adult and flee with him. In that year Sirius had broken out of prison and tried to capture Peter Pettigrew whom had been responsible for Harry's parents deaths. His shoot by the hip plan had almost succeeded if not for Remus being a fool with his wolfsbane potion. What Sirius had not told Harry during their brief meeting then or sense was that there was a reason nobody ever fully escaped Azkaban prison. The prison takes from you while you are there. Each day the Dementors snack not on your soul with a kiss but you very life force. While Sirius was mostly there he knew for a fact he was not the man he once was. To put it simple, Sirius was dying and it took last year visiting a few med-witches in different countries to truly figure this out. They were not sure how much time he would have but he would not last more than a few years at most.
He would have told Harry of this fact except for when he found out Harry's fourth year had gone wrong once more. This time he had been forced into a deadly tournament which forced him to compete for his life against creatures like dragons. The worst part was at the final event when Harry had been kidnapped and forced to be part of a ritual to return He-who-shall-not-be-named. That had been the last straw and truly when he had started his plan. If his godson was going to live without him someday soon in the future he would find a way to make certain he would be safe!
It had taken months in research in the private library of his family to find what he was looking for. But finally he had a way and Sirius would do anything to make certain his godson would be safe. First though he would teach Harry about his family. The truth of the Blacks knew about the world around them and what it meant to be Toujours Pur or Always Pure to thyself.
So here Sirius was standing outside of the Dursley's House under an invisibility cloak. It had been a week since his godson had returned from Hogwarts and finally he had been able to bribe Mundungus Fletcher to let Sirius switch with him for watching Harry. It had only cost a pair of silver candlestick holders from the 1700s worth a small fortune but to Sirius it was worth it. This was the time to make his move, set his plans in motion. It was the chance to try to make up for his failures for his godson.
Sirius let out a sigh as he watched the other wizard disappear from the property to sell his new goods. It would buy him twenty four hours head start, hopefully it would be enough. Turning away from the yard he gently pushed open the front door. His dragon hide boots leaving small marks on the pristine floors as he tracked mud into the room, but no notice from the horse-faced woman watching the TV soap opera.
He was careful as he slowly walked up the stairs trying not to make any noise. It became apparent to Sirius right away which room was Harry's own chambers due to the four bad locks on the outside of the door. The gray eyed man narrowed his gaze at them and started to count back from ten to keep his rage in check. He had a guess that the home life for Harry was not good. After all the boy had wanted to live with an escaped convict he just had met at the end of his third year, but he had not expected this. The sickening thought that muggles would lock his godson made the Black insanity flare to life in his blood. Still he fought this down as revenge was sweeter when it came over time, and despite his affliction he would make sure it happened to these muggles. Every hair harmed on his child's head would be paid back in misfortune a hundred times worse.
The wizard pushed against the door allowing it to swing open. His eyes slowly swiveled around the small chamber, barely the size of one of his families bathing chambers, which served as his godson's bedroom. It only took a second to spot him at the table with a book opened up pouring over the volume in study. The young man's green eyes blazed to life as the door opened and a wand appeared in his hand. "Who is there?"
Sirius stepped forward and pulled the hood off of his invisibility cloak letting it fall onto his shoulders. He watched his godson's face go from determined and angry to light up with happiness and joy. In a blink of an eye Harry was launched from the chair to Sirius' arms for a tight hug. "It is good to see you pup."
"You too Padfoot. But, how are you here? Won't you get caught?" Harry asked as he stepped back from the hug.
"No, I will be fine. In fact the Dumbledore's order has been keeping watch on you." Sirius answered back as he studied his godson. He looked paler then he remembered from when they met last year. He was taller too almost up to around five foot eight. He reached out and placed a hand on Harry's shoulder noticing the flinch that happened when he did. Sirius expression started to darken as he knew what that could be from, he had lived it from his darling mother. As much as he wanted answers they would have to wait as time was of the essence, "I have proposal for you Harry."
As the young man stared at him not answering Sirius continued, "I want to take you away from here. I don't like what has been going on for the past few years for you at school."
Sirius raised his hand to forestall any comment as he saw Harry about to start to defend things, "I know why Dumbledore has you here, for those blood wards of his. I don't trust them, think about it. What happened to you at the end of the year. The Dark Lord used your blood to come back to life, why would blood wards stop him from coming to get you if he has your blood? Also I do not like what has been happening at your school. Too much doesn't make sense and you seem to know too little about your family. If your grandmother was alive Dorea would be spitting mad."
"Dorea?" Harry asked with confusion.
"That is exactly my point Harry. You haven't even been told of your grandmother. What about Charlus Potter or your great grandfather Fleamont?" Sirius asked as he watched the young man shake his head with a frown. "I want to fix that. You were brought into our world ignorant. I think it is time that someone teaches you where you are from and I am the only one left who can do so. You are not the boy-who-lived nonsense to me Harry. You are my godson, my blood and my kin. Come with me and let me show you the world."
It only took half a second for Harry to grin up at his godfather and exclaim, "Let's do it!"
Sirius pulled off one of a pair of necklaces which he placed on the ground. He winked at Harry then tapped it with his wand, watching it expand into a full sized trunk. The escaped convict pushed one of three buttons, this one an H and an large empty trunk was before Harry. "This is your portion of the trunk for our trip. Pack your stuff in here. Let Hedwig out to fly. She will find us in a few days when we are away. I will meet you downstairs."
~~~ TBH ~~~
Sirius walked calmly down the stairs with smooth quiet steps before heading towards the family room and the Television. He never bothered to try to hide himself or make himself known. Still the annoying woman gave a sniff, "I thought I told you to stay upstairs and leave me alone else I will double your chores. You are lucky you are getting off so lightly right now. Now leave me be freak before you get a beating."
"I see so that is how you treat your sister's son." Sirius spoke in a soft voice. It was quite spooky since it seemed to carry over the room making the temperature drop to barely above freezing.
The eyes of the horse faced woman almost popped as they grew so wide. The nerves obvious on her face as she seemed frozen in place. Sirius took the time to slowly walk forward, "Ahh, you remember me. I was worried you may have forgotten who I am Petunia. I do not know fully what you have done to the boy, but I can suspect many things."
The woman was shivering locked in fear as the man spoke. Her skin rapidly paling as she realized a mass murderer not only was in her house but a man whom had reasons to be angry with her and her husband. She tried to open her mouth and despite no spell on it she still could not speak.
"I will make this simple. I am taking the boy. I am going to make it so nobody sees him again. If I find out you told about it I promise you that you will meet a terrible end. Even more so I will make certain every member of your loving family meets a worse fate then you could ever consider. I have felt pain and loss. I have wished for death and I promise you was done to me will pale in comparison to what I will do to each of you Dursleys. I remember you leave this country Petunia. Tell others you are taking a trip, but leave and never come back." Sirius stopped as he heard a young man walking down the stairs. Then he turned to walk away from the woman as he whispered, "Because If I find out what I think happened to Harry did, you better watch over your shoulder every second of every day and night. Because someday I will come and find you."
Sirius walked over to the stairs and smiled at his godson his mood back to happiness changing fast as rain in the summer sun, "You are ready Pup?"
"I am Padfoot. I can't wait. This is going to be fun." Harry smiled brightly as excitement shimmered in his eyes.
"You better believe it. Do you have everything you need? We won't be coming back here ever again Pup." Sirius asked with a smile.
If possible the eyes of the teen glowed even brighter with happiness at that statement before he shook his head. It caused Sirius only to grow angrier inside but he smothered it not wanting to ruin a happy moment for the kid. He pushed open the door for Harry before he walked outside with him.
Once outside he closed the door led them towards the park. A quick glance around showed nobody around so Sirius smiled. "Harry can I have the chain back?"
"Sure Padfoot." Harry handed over the chain which had shrunk once he had closed it in his room.
The elder wizard placed it down to the ground and popped it open. There he chained the setting to Black. The chamber this time seemed far larger. He slowly reached in with a look of concentration on his face before he pulled out his hand. Slowly he turned towards Harry, "Give me your hand Harry. I have something for you."
A weary look entered the boy's face but it quickly disappeared after all this was his godfather and the man who had just rescued him from the hell of summer. He had been hoping for this for two years and now he was finally free with him so Harry reached out.
Padfoot deposited a ring in his hand before he started to speak to the boy, "This is the ring for House Black. Harry, you are my heir. All that I own and my family owns shall be yours. Know that with it comes responsibilities which I shall teach you and duties that I never kept up which will fall to you. Just know this is one of two greatest gifts I can give you and I feel from how much I know of you there is not a more worthy person in the world"
The sincerity in the tone of the middle ages man touched the teen. He met his eyes and could see the hope in there that Harry would take it. He couldn't for the life of him resist it for the frank honesty showing in his gaze. Even more to Harry it was a show of being wanted. For the young man who had never had a family, a home truly of his own I was a showing of being wanted and showing that Sirius wanted him as his own kin. He had a place where to belong.
"Thank you Padfoot." The emerald eyed boy whispered as he slipped the ring on his hand. At once he felt a pull on his magic that had always been there and he never realized it loosen. It felt calm and relaxing at the same time. There was a warmth from the ring that felt like it filled his whole body. It took a few minutes for Harry to realize that Sirius had been talking to him.
"Besides all of that the ring will also protect you from being detected by others. Our family has always been paranoid so we wanted to make certain we could not be tracked. Every way known to wizards of being tracked by magic will be disabled by that ring. Never take it off and it will always keep you safe Harry." Sirius said with a proud smile.
The teen turned his emerald gaze onto the ring studying it. It an old ring he could tell at once. The metal was actually not even gold, something he had expected for a powerful wizarding house. Instead it was made of silver that had over time become pitted and tarnished in a few spots. There was a single ornament on the top, a ruby. It was a large ruby cut into the shape of an eye. In the middle of the ruby was a larger black dot looking almost like a pupil. On the edges of the ring almost forming a triangle were three small black dots.
Harry looked up at Padfoot in question even opening his mouth to ask but before he could Sirius spoke up, "It will be explained in time what it means Harry. I promise someday you will understand."
The elder Black smiled as he reached in his trunk pulling out three shrunken objects. He gave a tap to the first enlarging it into a motorcycle with a smile, "I have been wanting to ride this for a long time. Finally I will be able to. I just got it back from Hagrid finally a few weeks ago. He had been using it will I was within ….."
The man fell silent as he stared at in for a moment in memories that according to his face were not very pleasant. Harry reached outwards and gave a squeeze to his arm pulling Sirius from his dark thoughts. "We both have things to forget Padfoot."
"That we do Pup." A slight smile flickered over his face before he looked down and tapped the other two objects he had pulled out. He enlarged two leather jackets both of them made from some type of black dragon-hide from the look of them. With the most gentle of care Sirius handed one to Harry, "It is for you Pup, your father would have wanted you to have it."
Harry couldn't help the large smile that came over his lips at holding the jacket. It had been his father's and now it was his own. There were few things of his parents he owned and every scrap he could get of them he treasured. He carefully put it on and was surprised when it magically resized itself to fit. "Thank you Padfoot. This all means the world to me."
"It is just the start Harry. Trust me, I have plans that only a marauder can pull off." Sirius added with a grin filled with mischief. He jumped onto the bike and winked, "Get on Harry, it is time to take the ride of your life."
Harry jumped onto the back of the bike and they sped off to start their adventure.
Author Note: I know Charlus and Dorea according to Pottermore are not Harry's grandparents. I simply like it better for some reason they don't even appear on the Potter family tree there. This will have some elements and history from the Naruto series. I hope you enjoy the start of the story, like it? You can guess where the black family originally comes from.
