Thanks everyone for the lovely comments. a guest asked how many chapter this fiction will be. its like Complicated Feelings 80k word so about 20-21 chapters. We are rounding up part 1, everything will change in part 2.
The day dragged on slowly, until the afternoon finally arrived. He made his way back to the compound before sunset. Hinata was in the training ground, training with her younger sister Hanabi. Sasuke had never seen her fight before, only in the academy as children. She always won the battles. With that funny short hair and extra large beige jacket of hers.
She was incredibly shy, but she didn't let that stop her from showing off her strength. No girl in their class was as strong and kind as she was. Hinata always held back her power so she wouldn't hurt anyone unnecessarily. He couldn't help but admire her for that. It was harder to control your powers than to use them with full force, and she did it effortlessly. On the other hand, he had always given it his all, pushing himself to the limit, especially when competing against Naruto.
Hinata stood in the Hyuga stance, her long hair flowing behind her as she moved. She was fierce, her hits so hard and quick that he had to activate his Sharingan to keep up with her movements. Hanabi was equally impressive, her powers were astonishing. He couldn't have asked for a better afternoon. If only he had a cup of coffee to enjoy the show with!
After their training session, Hinata came over to him, smiling. "Sasuke, you're here early," she said, her eyes sparkling.
"You never change. Why do you hold back your powers?" he asked.
Hinata looked at him, her expression serious. "Do you want me to hurt my sister?"
"She is very strong, I'm sure she can defend herself."
Hanabi appeared from behind her."Tell her Sasuke-San, she is always so soft with me, how would I get better if she doesn't challenge me?"
"You are training with Ko-San and father, you are the best, you don't need me."
"But I want to train with you, you're my sister."And she hugged her from behind.
Sasuke was dumbfounded. This sounds so familiar. He used to beg Itachi to train with him, no matter how much his mother wanted to coach him. All he had ever wanted was to train and be with his big brother.
He looked at Hinata, and he couldn't help but stare. She was giggling, her head tilted and her eyes closed just like Itachi used to smile. He was lost in memories of his dear brother.
"Excuse me, Sasuke," Hinata said, breaking him out of his trance. "I'll change and be back."
"Hm," Sasuke hummed in response, still lost in thought.
Would this woman ever stop surprising him? Why did being with her feel so familiar, so warm and bringing back happy memories? She was never a part of his family, so why was he feeling like she belonged with them, in his younger years. Like she was a part of his happy memories. He could see her with them, he could imagine her in the kitchen with his mother, friends with his father, and the sister-in-law to Itachi, if that massacre had never happened, if he had a chance to have a normal life with a loving family. He couldn't help but wonder what his life would be like now, if he had that chance.
He was deep in thought as she placed a tray with coffee and tea in next to him. "Sasuke!" she whispered, trying to get his attention. But he didn't hear her.
She grabbed his hand, "Sasuke! Are you okay?" she asked, her voice filled with concern.
He turned to her, looking at her intensely in the eyes. "Who are you?" he whispered, his voice barely audible.
"What do you mean? Sasuke, are you okay? You're worrying me." She said, her expression confused.
He looked bewildered, "How are you doing this? How are you making me feel this way?" he asked, still trying to make sense of his feelings.
"Doing what?" He is making her so worried.
He looked down, feeling embarrassed. He was going crazy, why was he so confused? What had just happened? He felt like he should leave, but he didn't want to. He wanted to stay… with her.
She handed him the coffee, "Thank you," he whispered, still trying to make sense of his feelings.
"Sasuke, what happened?," she said, her voice filled with concern.
He had to get a grip on himself. What was happening to him? "I'm sorry, I was just dazed for a moment. I… brought you some books," he said, trying to change the subject as he handed her a stack of books. "Don't let anyone see them," he said with a smirk.
"I know, it's our secret," she whispered back, her eyes sparkling with excitement. It was so cute, it warmed his heart. He felt like they were smuggling something illegal and he couldn't help but laugh.
She looked at him, taking in his handsome face. He was so gorgeous, with his damn long eyelashes. Why does he have to have longer lashes than hers? Half his face started to get covered with his long bang. But his pale pointy face was visible. She reached and moved his hair to the side, revealing more of his face.
He stopped laughing and looked at her, surprised. "You're so beautiful," she said softly, barely audible.
"This is the second time you tell me that," he said.
She turned bright red, realising she had said that out loud. She was dazed by his beauty and didn't realise she had spoken her thoughts.
"I'm sorry," she stammered, "I didn't...I should go help in the kitchen," and with that, she rose quickly.
But he reached out and grasped her wrist firmly, "Stay… ".
She met his gaze for a moment, feeling her willpower crumbling under the intensity of his stare. She couldn't refuse him anything when he looked at her like that. Reluctantly, she sat back down and cast her eyes downward, studying her own hand.
"You used to fidget with your fingers when you were embarrassed," he said with a smile.
"I hated that habit. Everyone could tell how embarrassed I was. The girls used to make fun of me about that… S...Sasuke, how, how did you know?" she looked at him in shock.
"Why do you always think you were invisible to me in the Academy?" he asked, "I knew everything about everyone, but I always pretended like I wasn't interested. I can't stand it when people think I'm interested in them."
"And they wouldn't leave you alone if they knew?" she ventured.
"hm, but not you. Even if you knew I was interested in you, you would have still left me alone."
"Because I'm too shy," she admitted, her voice barely above a whisper.
"No," he corrected, "because you respect my desire for privacy. Because you respect others' needs."
She thought about his words for a moment, looking down at her lap. "I never thought you knew me so well," she said finally.
"I don't," he replied, "But I want to," and with that he looked at her intently, his gaze filled with a genuine desire to understand her.
'I want to know you more, Hinata. I want to understand you, your thoughts, your feelings. I want to be there for you, to support you, to protect you.'He thought.
Hinata couldn't believe what she was hearing. Sasuke, the aloof and distant Uchiha, was expressing a genuine desire to get to know her better. She felt a flutter in her chest, a warmth spreading through her body.
She looked at him, he was so close. She couldn't help but think about kissing him.
She was about to lean closer. He felt her approach and was about to respond. No you promised! He tensed, turned his head the other way and clenched his hand. Not wanting to upset her.
What was she doing? She wanted to kiss him, or for him to kiss her, though she made him promise. She felt a pang of disappointment, but also a sense of respect for his discipline.
"Sasuke, I'm going to help in the kitchen," she said softly, "See you at dinner." and with that, she got up and left.
"hm" this is agony. What is he doing here?
Sasuke sat alone, his mind in turmoil. He couldn't understand why he was feeling this way, this agony of wanting something he knew he couldn't have. He clenched his fist, his mind grappling with the conflicting emotions.
He knew he shouldn't be thinking about her like that. She was Naruto's wife and the mother of his child. But he couldn't help the way he felt. He needed to distance himself from her before he did something he would regret. With this thought in mind, he decided to leave the compound and clear his head.
"Sasuke-San, happy you could share dinner with us tonight." Hiashi said from behind.
Sasuke turned around and greeted him "Thank you Hiashi-San." Did he see us?
"We have been measuring and rebuilding the Uchiha District," Hiashi said, "Are you sure you don't want to have a dwelling there? It's your ground after all."
"No, Hiashi-san," Sasuke replied, "I really appreciate it. But you paid me well for it, and I have a big mansion thanks to you."
"Still," Hiashi pressed, "think about it. The dinner is almost ready. Come inside."
Sasuke followed Hiashi to the dining room, his mind racing with conflicting thoughts.
During dinner, he found himself glancing at Hinata. He watched as she gracefully dealt with her sister's mischievous teasing, only smiling in response.
It fascinated him, the way she was so kind and patient. She's a lot like Itachi. He can't stop seeing the comparison especially with her sister around. Hiashi was enjoying his dinner stoically not minding his daughters. It reminded him of his own family, before everything fell apart. The way they interacted, the way they treated each other, it was so similar to how his own family used to be. It made him feel a sense of familiarity and longing for something he thought he had lost forever. He couldn't shake off the feeling of longing, the feeling of wanting to be a part of a family like this once again.
After dinner, Sasuke and Hiashi drank sake together. Sasuke felt awkward to refuse his host's invitation. Hinata and Hanabi retired to their room.
"I heard Sasuke-San was here yesterday too. It seems he is here only for you," Hanabi teased.
"Hanabi!! How could you say that? I'm a married woman. Never repeat that especially in front of Naruto-Kun, you have no idea how jealous he is," Hinata scolded.
"Well, he should be, you are the most beautiful woman in Konoha," Hanabi replied.
"Oh Hanabi please," Hinata dismissed the idea.
"I even understand if Sasuke-San can't resist your beauty," Hanabi persisted.
"Me and Sasuke are not shallow like that. People are more than looks. We are just friends and enjoy each other's company," Hinata explained.
"I can see that. You two have such a strong connection. I've never seen you like this with anyone. Not even Naruto-nee," Hanabi commented.
"Hanabi, please. It's not like that. I love Naruto-kun. He is my husband. Sasuke is just a dear friend," Hinata tried to make her sister understand.
"If you say so," Hanabi said, not convinced.
"And because of you, because of what you said to Sasuke, he and Naruto almost had a fight," Hinata told her sister.
"What happened?" Hanabi got excited.
Two men fighting for the love of a woman! So romantic. The only problem is the two men are best friends and both are married, one of them to the woman. Not complicated at all.
"Naruto was angry that Sasuke knew about father refused our relationship," Hinata explained.
"Sasuke could have heard that from anyone! It's not a secret. Naruto-nee shouldn't get angry. It's just a fact, but you are over it now. Why is that a big deal?" Hanabi asked.
"I told you he is jealous of Sasuke, luckily he didn't know that father had a proposal for us," Hinata replied.
"He will eventually know, but that will change nothing of the fact that you are his wife," Hanabi said.
"He will k..." Hinata started to say but stopped herself.
"What?"
"Nothing! Good night Hanabi!" and with that, she left the room.
"You shouldn't stay up late," Hanabi teased.
Hinata returned to the tearoom. "Do you want more tea father?" she asked.
"No, I'm going to bed. Maybe Sasuke-San wants some. Good night," Hiashi replied.
"I'll get the coffee Sasuke," Hinata said and made him a cup.
Sasuke took a sip, feeling the warmth of the liquid spreading through his body.
"Thank you, I couldn't leave without drinking your cup of coffee. Even with that machine it doesn't taste like yours," he said, looking at Hinata.
She blushed, "Did...did you wait for me?" she whispered.
"Hm," he replied, his eyes locking onto hers.
"I never asked you, what kind of books do you like to read?" she asked, trying to change the subject.
"Other than ninjutsu and battle techniques, I read literature or action novels," he replied.
"I don't like action! But I'm interested in that literature, what is it?" she asked, her curiosity piqued.
"Books that are considered to be an art form, especially prose fiction, drama, and poetry," he explained.
"That sounds interesting," she said, her eyes lighting up.
"I'll lend you my favourite when you go back home," he offered.
"Aren't...aren't you coming to dinner tomorrow?" she asked blushing, her voice barely above a whisper.
He smiled, "Aren't you returning home?"
"I'll stay here until Naruto-Kun returns," she said, looking down.
"What if your father gets irritated with me coming every day?" he asked, worried about overstaying his welcome.
"No, please don't say that. He is so happy to have you as company. He asked me many times today if I was sure you'd come," she reassured him.
"And you?" he asked, his voice low.
"What about me?" she asked, her heart racing.
"Are you happy to have my company?" he asked, his gaze intense.
"Of...of course Sasuke, I like...talking to you," she said, blushing.
"Just talking?" he whispered in a low voice.
"..." she didn't know what to say, her mind in a whirlwind of emotions.
You idiot, what else would she like about you?
"Sasuke, how is your hand?" she asked, changing the subject again. He turned to look at it, and she reached out, gently grasping it for closer inspection. "The ointment is really magical," he said, his voice tinged with gratitude.
"I made you more," she replied, a hint of concern in her voice. "Please use it when you are injured, unlike last time."
"Hm," he grunted, before continuing. "And thank you for healing my shoulder and looking after Sarada. I know it drained you."
"You're welcome," she said, smiling warmly.
But Sasuke's expression remained hard, the lines of his face etched with a deep-seated frustration. "Sasuke, why are you still glaring at me?" she asked, her own confusion mirrored in her voice. "I thought we were over this?"
"Why are you always saying it's your pleasure, your welcome, no problem? When it's obviously exhausting and tiring and a problem. Why can't you be honest and just say no?" he demanded, his words biting and accusing.
She looked at him perplexed, her mind racing as she tried to understand the sudden anger that seemed to simmer just beneath the surface of his words. Is she a dishonest person? she wondered, her thoughts tumbling over one another as she struggled to make sense of his accusations.
"Because I'm polite," she replied, frustration creeping into her voice as she struggled to explain. "I do my best to help others, even if it exhausts me. The reward of helping someone and seeing the smile on their face is incomparable. You should try it sometimes," she said, her voice challenging him to understand.
"You're right, I don't like depending on others or doing my best to help anyone. Why should I? I'm not going to exhaust myself just to see someone smile," Sasuke retorted, his words cutting and dismissive.
"So what do you call what you did at the war, saving the world? Why do you do missions? Why do you protect the village? Even you crave to help others. It's in our nature," she shot back, her own anger rising to match his.
"It's not the same," Sasuke argued, his voice tight with anger. "I do my duty to the village and to my brother. I get paid for missions and I like to battle. That doesn't mean I'm such a crazy people-pleaser like you." She stood there for a moment, unable to comprehend his words and the anger that was fueling them.
"Did you call me crazy?" Hinata could hardly believe what she was hearing, her voice trembling with anger and hurt.
"Yes, such a crazy freak who only cares about others and forgets herself. How much are you going to give without receiving anything in return?" Sasuke sneered, his words cruel and cutting.
"I don't want to receive anything, I just want to see others happy. That is my reward," she said, rubbing her forehead wearily as she tried to make him understand. "Please leave, Sasuke. I'm tired, I want to go to bed," she said, her gaze dropping to the ground as she turned away from him.
Sasuke felt a pang of guilt for hurting her feelings. He didn't mean to say those things, he just couldn't understand why she always put others before herself. He wanted to apologize, the best way he knew how to apologize to her. He came closer to her and bent to kiss her, to make her shut up, to make her stay. Her eyes went wide, but she didn't move. He promised! She turned her head to the side, and he found himself kissing her neck. She didn't move, but her body was rigid, as if she was holding herself back from pushing him away.
She smells so beautiful, lavender and roses, like that soap. He licked her. She shivered, what did he just do? "Sasuke!!" He wanted to taste her more. He missed the taste of her kisses. He sucked the thin skin of her neck. Every part of her is fragrant and delicious. She lost balance and fell back in her escape. He wrapped his hand around her throat and devoured her more.
"Sasuke, what are you doing? You promised," she whispered, out of breath. Her heart was beating so loud and all her defences had fallen. The tension between them dissipated as they gave in to their desires. How could she still think when his warm breath sent shivers down her spine. When she could feel his hunger for her. His large, warm hand around her throat made her shiver with lust. His kisses were intense, filled with pent-up emotion and unspoken words. He was moaning, enjoying her neck. She closed her eyes, feeling what he was doing to her.
"I never promised you to not kiss your neck," Sasuke murmured, his breath hot against her skin. What was he doing, is this the effect of the sake? Or is he just horny? He doesn't know, he doesn't want to know. He only knows that he wants this moment to never end.
Hinata was at a loss for words, unsure of how to react to his actions. She couldn't deny the way her body was responding to him. She wrapped her hand around his nape and bent her neck to the side more and… moaned. He groaned, feeling her invitation made his heart skip a beat. They lost track of time, lost in the sensation of each other and the warmth of their bodies pressed together. She was laying under him, under his mercy. For that moment, nothing else mattered but the two of them and the connection they shared. But as his hand went lower to her breast, she jolted, feeling the situation getting out of control. What is she doing? "Sasuke, stop, please stop!" she whispered, trying to push him away. He rose and looked her in the eyes, his expression a mixture of confusion and desire.
"What are we doing? What is this? We are at the Hyuga, anyone could see us! And it's wrong. Please Sasuke, promise me to stop all this. It's impossible. Don't you understand! Impossible!" she whispered, her eyes filled with tears, trying to cover herself and arrange her slightly stretched out Yukata.
But Sasuke's expression hardened, and he clenched his fist. "I will not promise again. I will not stop. I will never promise to stop doing what I enjoy, what YOU enjoy," he said, his voice low and determined. And with that, he turned and left, leaving Hinata alone and confused, unsure of what their relationship had become and what the future held for them.
His vision was blurry and his head heavy. Damn it, he should never drink again.
As he walked through the dark corridors of the Hyuga compound, he couldn't shake off the feeling that he had made a huge mistake. He had always prided himself on being in control and not letting his emotions get the better of him, but with Hinata, he couldn't seem to keep a lid on his feelings. She brought out a side of him that he didn't even know existed.
He knew that he needed to get some rest and try to clear his head, but as he lay in bed, he couldn't stop thinking about Hinata and the way she had moaned when he kissed her neck. He knew that he had to find a way to make things right with her, but he wasn't sure how to go about it. All he knew was that he couldn't bear the thought of losing her friendship and the sense of warmth and familiarity that he felt when he was with her.
The next morning he felt his head pounding so hard. He needs coffee. He got up off his futon and went to make breakfast. His toast got burned. His shower couldn't get regulated. That he finally had to take a really cold shower. His cloak got stuck in the door knob that it ripped a little. It was a grey morning and everything seemed to be against the Uchiha.
If you think that coffee craving is exaggerating. It's inspired by someone I know who demands coffee everytime he sees my freaking face.
