Chapter 5
When InuYasha woke up it was 5:30 pm. He jumped up after looking at the clock, "Shit! I still haven't even asked Kagome."
"Asked Kagome what?"
InuYasha turned around and there was Kagome trying to climb up the stairs very slowly. He quickly got to her, helping her up the last few stairs.
"I was wondering if you would like to eat dinner with my family?" Kagome thought about it for a moment before smiling at him.
"Of course, it's your family; but what are they gonna think of me if I look like this?"
"You look beautiful as always. Plus I already told my dad what happened, so he knows you're a little banged up. I should probably take you home first to change and shower."
Kagome nodded her head, "Yeah, I also need to tell my mom what happened and where we're going."
~At Kagome's house~
When Kagome walked into her house her mother immediately demanded an explanation as to why her daughter was gone all night and day. After InuYasha explained, for Kagome, what had happened they helped Kagome upstairs trying to keep her in as little pain as possible.
They wrapped an ace bandage around her ribs so they couldn't move as much, and then InuYasha stepped out of the room while Ms. Higurashi helped Kagome into different clothes.
"You look beautiful Kagome." InuYasha whispered before giving her a light kiss and helping her down the stairs. Once down stairs her mother hugged her and told her to be careful.
"InuYasha, promise me you will bring my daughter back safely?"
"Yes ma'am. I promise." He answered her. With that, they were out the front door headed up the street to his own house.
Since they were walking slowly due to Kagome's injuries InuYasha tried to explain his family to her the best way possible.
"So, my father is protective of his family, but he can be really goofy. My older brother, Sesshomaru can be rude, but my dad is going to talk to him. He'll be good though, his fiancé will be there too. Her name is Sara. Sara is… she can have mood swings. She usually is either talkative, or extremely quiet. My little brother, Shippo, is adopted but we love him just the same. His parents were good friends of my dad, but they were killed in a car crash when Shippo was really young, so my mom and dad adopted him. He is excitable." Kagome nodded her head and smiled at him. Just a few minutes later they arrived in front of InuYasha's house.
InuYasha pushed a button on the right side of the front door. There was then a buzz, and a voice suddenly spoke.
"Who's there?"
"It's InuYasha and my girlfriend Shu, let me in."
"Right away sir." InuYasha helped Kagome into the house and was then tackled by an orange fur ball.
"InuYasha, you're finally back!"
"Get off of me Shippo!" InuYasha yelled as he grabbed the little creature by his tail, pulling him off his neck. He quickly set Shippo down as three other people joined them in the living room. Two of the three were male and they both looked shockingly similar. Both were tall, both close to 6'4 maybe taller. Both had long silver hair and stripes on their cheeks. The slightly older looking one had his long silver colored hair tied up into a very high ponytail. The younger of the two let his hair down freely like InuYasha. Both also had the piercing golden eyes that InuYasha also had.
The third of the three was a female. She was also tall; about 6 feet tall. She had long brown hair with chocolate brown eyes and she was holding hands with the younger male. InuYasha took a step forward bringing Kagome with him since he was holding one of her hands. He bent down and picked up the little boy with bright orange hair and emerald green eyes that had tackled him earlier.
"Kagome this is my little brother Shippo."
He pointed to the younger of the two men, "That is my older brother Sesshomaru, and holding his hand is his fiancé Sara."
He then turned his attention to the oldest person in the room, "This is my father, InuTashio. Dad, everyone, this is Kagome."
Shippo smiled at Kagome, Sesshomaru lightly nodded toward her, Sara gave her a light hug, while InuTashio shook he hand.
"It's so nice to meet you." Sara told her.
"It's nice to meet all of you too." Kagome responded quietly.
"Welcome to our home." InuTashio spoke before turning on one of his feet and heading to where Kagome assumed was probably the dining room. Sesshomaru pulled out a chair for Sara and InuYasha did the same for Kagome. At the head of the long rectangular table was InuTashio to his right was Shippo, Kagome and InuYasha. To his left was Sara and Sesshomaru.
As the drinks were being served InuTashio cleared his throat. "So Kagome, tell us about yourself, dear."
InuYasha lightly squeezed her hand that he was holding under the table to encourage her. She took a breath, "Well sir, I am a senior at school with InuYasha. I live in the shrine down the road with my mother, grandfather and little brother Souta. I also have a little girl who lives with my cousin Kagura until I graduate."
InuTashio held up one of his hands, "You have a daughter at your age." He said as more of a statement than a question.
Kagome bowed her head, looking at her lap. "Yes sir."
InuYasha laid a hand on her back, "It wasn't voluntary on her part dad." He said quietly. He noticed his dad's eyebrows shot up, as Sesshomaru's eyes widened a fraction and Sara put a hand over her mouth.
"Are you telling me that she was raped?"
"Yes father, and as a result of that she became pregnant. He is the same guy who attacked us last night." InuTashio nodded his head and then began having a light conversation with Sesshomaru and Sara, while dinner was being served. InuYasha kissed Kagome on the temple and then they both began to eat quietly as Shippo began tell the two teens about his day at elementary school.
After they all finished eating the five adults went into the living room while Shippo went to play in his room.
"Well Kagome, I can tell by the way InuYasha looks at you that you mean a lot to him. I would like to give my blessing for the two of you two date." InuTashio stated before breaking out into a bright smile. Kagome felt a smile of her own spread across her face, and before she realized what she was doing, she had gotten off the couch as fast as possible with injured ribs and hugged InuTashio.
Kagome backed away when she realized what she was doing. "I am sorry sir. I don't know what came over me."
"It's okay Kagome. I am not as big of a brute as I seem when you first meet me." The other three in the room nodded their heads in agreement.
"He's right Kagome," Sara started. "When I was first introduced to InuTashio I almost told Sesshomaru I wasn't coming back, but I did. Now he's a big sweet puppy, and he's told me that he would kick Sess's ass if he ever hurt me."
Kagome giggled a little as everyone else also chuckled from the memories.
InuTashio looked to InuYasha. "Well even though it is late, I have to take you to the studio, son. Bankotsu called before you arrived and told me that you still need to record one more song for your next album."
InuYasha nodded. "Okay, actually dad I wanted to see if Kagome could sing it… I just haven't had a chance to ask her yet."
Kagome's eyes widened. "Why me?"
"You have an amazing voice. I like this song but I feel like it would sound better if a woman sang it. You have the perfect voice." InuYasha explained.
Kagome thought for a minute before agreeing. "Okay, I'll do it for you Inu."
InuYasha gave her a light hug being mindful of her ribs. "Thank you."
~At the studio~
Once they were at the studio InuTashio explained the changes to Bankotsu while InuYasha taught Kagome the song. An hour later they were ready to record.
"Are you ready Kags?" InuYasha asked from behind the glass. Kagome adjusted the headphones and nodded her head, listening for the music to start.

Kagome opened her eyes and looked at everyone. All of them were looking at her like she had grown a second head.
"Well?" She asked. No one moved or said a word.
"Was it that bad?" Bankotsu was the first one to come out of his trance.
"What? No! That was so awesome! You have a great voice! I am so glad InuYasha suggested you! It sounded good with him singing it, but he was right. It does sound better with a woman." Kagome smiled and walked out of the recording booth right into InuYasha arms for a hug.
"That was so good Kagome." He complimented her.
"Thank you InuYasha, but you're kind of squeezing my ribs."
"I'm sorry." He said as he loosed it grip and kissed her forhead.
