Chapter 54: Happy Valentines day

Hecate hated Valentine's day. She hated many days of the year. But she always hated Valentine's day the most. The only highlight was the not so secret secret card from Pippa. She did one every year when they were children. Then again as adults, after the spelling bee, Hecate had received one every year since.

This year was no different, come that morning, Hecate found a card waiting for her on her coffee table. She picked it up, reading it with a fond smile.

'To My beloved Hiccup, I hope your day is as beautiful as you are, Forever love, Pipsqueak'

Hecate Transferred it back to her room for safe keepings. She'd never admit it to anyone, but she kept every one she ever received. Despite her dislike of the day, She had commitments now to certain people, she had a family that wasn't so hardbroom. In the run up to the day, she was reminded of this with every look to her finger.

Because of this, She'd made preparations. She wasn't one for Cards, Well, she wasn't one for giving them out. She'd gotten Mildred a box of Chocolates, deeming it'd keep her occupied. She signed it absentmindedly before placing it on Mildred's Dresser. She'd hopefully notice it when she woke up.

Hecate found herself with this constant look of being completely done with her students all day. There was squealing and a lot of hugging.. There were cards abandoned on almost every side within the Castle, never mind the glitter that seemed to stick to everything that comes even close to it. Who on earth let the girls have glitter?

Nonetheless, in between playing clean up, Her Classes went rather well. First and Second lesson went without a hitch, and thankfully she didn't have a third lesson on that day. She wandered the halls, snarling at the various hearts decorating the ceiling.. That's when she almost bumped into someone, She looked down to find Mildred, holding onto a Witch History Book.

"I-I'm so sorry, Miss Hardbroom.. I should pay more attention to where I'm going." Mildred gave her a lopsided smile.

Hecate was just thinking the same thing about herself.. "Evidently.." She said instead, whispering it out. "Good Book?"

Mildred nodded. "Oh, Yes. I'm only two chapters in, But i'm learning a lot about what really happened in Salam.."

"Good. Maybe sit down and read it.." Hecate suggested, side stepping around Mildred to go about her walk.

"Miss Hardbroom!" Mildred called out before she could get far. Hecate turned around, and Mildred gave her a timid smile. "Thanks for the chocolates, Happy Valentine's day." With that, Mildred went off about her day, Leaving Hecate with the ghost of a smile on her face.

Hecate Patiently waited until the final bell to return to the Apartment, findling Pippa already there. The Pink witch stood, moving closer to Hecate. "Happy Valentine's day, My love."

Hecate wrapped her arms around Pippa, Hugging her tightly. "Happy Valentine's day.." She whispered.

"I take it, you got my card?" Pippa placed a kiss on her cheek.

"Yes, I did, Thank you Pipsqueak." Hecate thought for a moment before saying "I got you something.." She sounded unsure, awkward and slightly confused.

"You didn't have to, Darling." Pippa comforted her. "Your love is all i.. Need.." Her words died down, as Hecate transferred a small ring box to her hand.

She opened it up slowly, revealing the Sapphire Rose Gem, a perfect shade of pink for Pippa. Lined with beautiful diamonds and a golden band. "It can mean.. Whatever you want it to.." Hecate repeated Pippa's earlier words.

"W-Well.. You haven't asked the question.." Pippa said with a blush flying up her neck, to her cheeks.

Hecate rolled her eyes, Pippa could be so dramatic sometimes. "Pippa Pentangle.." She began.

"Yes, Hecate Hardbroom.." Pippa responded, her voice shaking ever so slightly, it was kinda cute.

"Will you marry me?" Hecate continued, holding out the ring.

"I'd be honoured." Pippa placed the ring on the correct finger, smiling at how well it complimented her dress.. She leaned forward placing the smallest kiss on her lips. Soft, tender and full of love.

In all Honesty, Hecate felt it was unfair that only she got to wear a fancy Ring. It made her feel slightly bad.. Pippa loved rings as much as the next person, she loved jewellery fullstop. It was only fair that she got a ring of her own. It was also only fair that Hecate got to show her love for her. It was about time, after all.

The rest of Hecate's day, Included a Cupcake from Ada, A Handmade glittery card from Mildred, and a lot of love from Pippa.

Lemme know what you think!
