Chapter 46: It's My Party

"Alright, who drew the short stick?" I heard a voice as it hovered around my bed.

"Why are we doing this?" I heard another voice ask.

Even though these voices already seemed to have awoken me, I decided to keep my eyes closed. You know, just in case if something interesting was suppose to happen.

"Because we all don't want to wake Setsuna up. She can get pretty cranky," a different voice spoke this time. "She once almost punched my face."

"If you two want, I'll wake her up," the second voice offered.

"Thanks, Haruhi!" The other two stated before I heard them walk away.

'My sisters are idiots,' I thought with an internal sweat drop.

"Suna-chan," I felt her lightly touch my shoulder. "Time to wake up."

I waited a few seconds before I began to stretch my arms out and let out a yawn. Opening my eyes, I turned towards the direction of my best friend who was clad in dark blue shorts and a lovely pink blouse.

"Morning, Haruhi," I smiled while lifting myself up.

"Happy birthday, Suna-chan," Haruhi smiled and gave me a hug.

August 13th, 11:31 am...Setsuna's 18th Birthday

"Thanks, Haruhi!" I grinned as I got off my bed. I walked towards my window and opened them up, allowing the fresh summer breeze to come in.

"You ready to have a fun day today?" the freshman asked as she took a seat on my chair that was next to my desk.

"Yes I am!" I gave her the biggest smile. "By the way, why are you here so early?"

She just gave me a blank look, "Suna-chan, it's already 11:34 in the morning. I came with otou-san to help your family get the yakiniku ready for your birthday."

"Oh," I sweat dropped. "Thanks! Wanna help me pick out something to wear today?"

She nodded and we moved towards my closet. It was difficult to pick out what I wanted to wear today seeing that I had no idea what I was in the mood to wear. I could go for the casual look or the fancy look. But seeing that today's plans are now us having a yakiniku, also known as a barbecue, and inviting people over, I think I will go for the semi-casual look. Pulling out what I call a T.A.R.D.I.S. blue pair of shorts - I've been having a Doctor Who obsession as of late, well the last few days - and a black sleeve-less button-up blouse, I decided that this would be a pretty good outfit for the day.

Instead of kicking Haruhi out of my room, I decided to go to the bathroom so that I could shower and get dressed in there. Seeing that I did wake up late, a quick shower was something that I needed to do since people are suppose to arrive around one in the afternoon. With what could probably be a record timing of both showering and shaving, I got out of the shower and commenced getting ready. It took me roughly about five minutes to be dressed with a towel wrapped around my head as I walked out of the bathroom and headed towards my room.

"Is everything ready?" I asked Haruhi, who was currently reading one of my mangas. I think it was a Fruits Basket one. "I kinda feel bad that I didn't help out with stuff."

She looked up from the manga, "Everything is almost ready and besides, it's your birthday. I don't think you should feel obligated to help set up. Is your okaa-san going to come?"

"No, we decided that we are going to celebrate on a different day," I told her as I headed towards my drawer and pulled out some make-up, specifically mascara and my eyebrow pencil. "I think we are either gonna go to a theme park or have a dinner. I'm not too positive yet."

"Sounds fun," she told me. Haruhi then walked towards the window and looked out, "It's a perfect day to have a yakiniku."

"I am excited for the food. I'm surprised that the front lawn has a decent amount of room to have us all there, like last time," I commented while applying the items where they went on my face before putting them away.

"Do you think everyone will arrive right at one?"

I removed the towel from my hair and ran my fingers through my damp hair as I looked at Haruhi, "I have a feeling that maybe Anzu and the guys would get here after one. I would say close to two. The Host Club, however, I get the feeling that Tamaki is organizing everyone right now so they can be here on the dot."

"That does sound like something Tamaki-senpai would do," Haruhi said with a sweat drop on her head.

"It is something that Tamaki would do," I laughed. "What time is it?"

"Twelve twenty-six."

"That's good enough time to let my hair air dry for a bit," I placed the wet towel over my closet door. "Remind me to blow dry my hair in twenty minutes, please."

"Will do, Suna-chan. Wanna go downstairs and see if we can find something to eat?"

As soon as the question was asked, my stomach growled. My eyes widened due to the fact that it was such a loud noise. Haruhi just looked at me and laughed saying that we should go find something to eat since according to her, it sounded like a whale was inside my stomach trying to call out to someone.

"I'm surprised you didn't know that I speak whale," I joked as we walked down the stairs and towards the kitchen to see what we can munch on.

"Do you also suffer from short term memory loss, Suna-chan?"

"I'm sorry, who are you and why are you in my house?"

We both laughed and found ourselves looking at snacks that was currently placed on the counter. Glorious, glorious snacks that I want to gobble up right now. I was really close to grabbing a handful of chips when I got smacked by a wooden spoon.

"Hey!" I rubbed my right hand as I looked up at otou-san.

"Those are for when the party starts. For now, you can eat a fruit," Otou-san said as he handed me an apple. "Eat an apple."

"Apple's rubbish, I hate apples," I quoted last night's episode that I was watching.

"You told me yesterday to buy a lot of them because you loved them," Otou-san stated with a weird look on his face.

"It was a joke, otou-san. It's from - never mind - hand over the apple, please."

Seeing that Haruhi got a banana, which caused me to snigger as well, we went outside to see how things were coming along. There was a canopy that was set where a table was placed underneath it. It would more than likely be holding all the snacks and fruit platters that I found in the kitchen. A big blue tub that was filled with ice, sodas, water bottles, and beers was there as well. I guess otou-san invited some of his friends to come over seeing that there is a lot of beer and I doubt both otou-san and Ranka-san could finish them all. Or can they? Just a few feet away was the grill that was going to be used to cook the food. There was also many chairs that was just around the place so that we could sit.

Decorated outside the house was balloons of various colors attached to various objects so they wouldn't fly off and streamers were hung in random places as well. As I was looking around at the balloons and streamers, it was then that I noticed a sign that read "Happy birthday, Setsuna" in bright colors. This was it. It was the sign that I was turning a year older. Should I feel excited that I am still young? Old?

Instead, it was hunger that I felt. I guess it still hasn't hit me that I am now eighteen. After finishing the apple, I threw away the core at the nearest trash can that we had outside. I looked towards my left and saw Haruhi doing the same before turning to look at me and asking whether I liked the sight before me.

"I love it," I smiled.

"I think it's time to do your hair, Suna-chan," Haruhi told me as she pulled out the red cell phone that the Twins gave her.

"What time is it?"

"Twelve forty-eight."

"Back to my room we go!"

Once I was back inside the house, I headed straight towards the bathroom that was upstairs to blow dry my hair. I let Haruhi know that she could chill in my room while I dried my hair in the bathroom so that the noise of the dryer wouldn't disturb her. She nodded towards me and went to my room, more than likely going to keep reading the manga that she had earlier. As for me, I went to the bathroom and began to work on my hair. Seeing that it was now longer than it had been in the past, I decided that it would probably best to just keep it down and straight.

"Hair is nice and ready!" I announced as I walked back into my room. "All that I need left is-"

A pair of lips stopped me from talking. My eyes instantly closed when I realized who it was and returned the kiss.

"A birthday kiss," Takashi finished off my statement. A smile appeared on both of our faces as we embraced one another.

"You're here early," I commented as I took a look at his appearance. A light grey v-neck shirt and dark blue jeans were adorned on his body for the day.

"We got here around one. I came up here to look for you since you weren't downstairs when we arrived," Takashi explained as he moved a strand of hair behind my ear. "Haruhi went downstairs to distract the others so that I could get some alone time with you. Even if it's for a few minutes."

"Haruhi is such a lifesaver and you are just amazing," I leaned towards his to peck him on the lips.

"Setsuna! Come down to say hello to your guests!" I heard otou-san shout from outside the house.

I smiled sheepishly and grabbed Takashi's hand, beginning to lead him out of my room and down the stairs, "There went our alone time."

"We can always make time later on."

"Challenge accepted."

As soon as we arrived downstairs and put our shoes back on, we walked outside and looked at the party that was now in business. I found the remainder of the Host Club talking to my family and the Fujiokas. About what, I have no idea. I was about to walk towards them when Takashi stopped me from moving. I looked up at him with a look that questioned why. He simply just smiled and kissed my head before we joined the others.

"Hey, you guys," I greeted them as we approached the group.

A chorus of happy birthday's were heard from everyone in that group. Hugs were given to me, and yes that included Kyoya, before the two adults left to get the grill started. My sisters followed in their direction, but headed towards the beverages. I looked at Haruhi and gave her a grateful smile, hoping that she understood that it was for allowing Takashi and I some alone time. Apparently she understood and simply nodded her head with a smile.

"You guys are on time," I joked as I looked at everyone. All eyes moved towards the direction of the Prince type, who was clad in a blue and white stripped collared shirt and blue jeans.

"As your otou-san," Tamaki began, completely ignoring me state that he wasn't, "I wanted to make sure that we spend the entire time with you since it is your birthday."

"That didn't mean you had to wake us up early in the morning," the Twins commented. Both were wearing a forest green cardigan with a white shirt. The only way to differentiate them was that Hikaru had on dark blue jeans while Kaoru had black jeans.

I laughed, "You didn't, Tamaki? What time did he wake you all up?"

"Around seven in the morning."

"I was lucky enough to leave my phone on silent so that I wouldn't be disturbed," Kyoya mentioned. Today, he was dressed in a purple short sleeved button-up shirt and grey shorts.

"Takashi and I were already awake since we were training together," Hunny told us. He was dressed in light blue shorts, a black t-shirt with a pink bunny print, and a white sleeveless sweater.

Tamaki was a little too much sometimes, but the fact that he cared made my heart feel all nice and warm. As the party continued, four more guests had arrived. It was two men and two women who apparently were friends with otou-san and Ranka-san. Otou-san called me over when they arrived and I thanked them as they wished me a happy birthday. The two women each handed me a gift.

"Oh, thank you very much," I told the two ladies who smiled. "I hope you have a fun time today. Enjoy yourselves."

"The gifts are placed in the living room right now, Setsuna," Otou-san told me as he handed his friends a beer each.

"Ah, thanks, tou-san."

I made my way back into the house and as I entered the living room, the sight surprised me. There I found four gifts waiting for me to be opened. As tempting as it was, I decided to not take a peak and place the two gifts down with the others. I smiled and headed back outside to find two of Fuka's friends, who both wished me a happy birthday. Not only did I spot them, I also spotted Kazumi's boyfriend and her friends as well. They too wished me a happy birthday.

"That's odd," I talked to myself as I walked back towards the Host Club.

"What is?" Haruhi asked me.

"Oh, it's nothing. I didn't know that my sisters invited their friends over. Do we have enough food to feed everyone?" I wondered aloud.

"Don't worry, Suna-chan. Your otou-san made sure to over count the amount of people that would be coming today," she assured me.

"Thanks, Haruhi."

The yakiniku was a blast so far. Everyone was having a fun time and just enjoying ourselves. When we began eating our food, the Host Club decided that it would be fun to talk about their favorite moments with me.

"It would have to be when we first met you at our house," Hikaru told us with a laugh.

"You were so shy that it was adorable," Kaoru said before taking a sip from his drink.

"And that slightly frightened look you had when we offered to show you the Host Club."

"Priceless."

"Hey! In my defense, you guys were giving me an evil grin," I defended myself.

"Mine would have to be our first sleepover," Haruhi smiled as she recalled the memory. "We stayed up all night watching Disney movies and eating a lot of junk food. It got to the point that we had a sugar rush and instead of talking, we sang practically everything we said."

"The next morning otou-san vowed to find a way to lock the cabinet with all the good snacks," I giggled. "Your turn, Tamaki."

Tamaki smiled as he spoke, "It would have to be that time when you danced and I played the piano for you. It was one of the best bonding moments that we had and I learned much more about you."

"Aw, Tamaki," I smiled. "Thank you for that, again. It meant a lot to me."

"Kyoya, it's your turn," Tamaki told looked towards his right.

"Favorite moment, let's see," Kyoya began, "it would have to be when you were helping me calculate the Host Club's funds. We were able to learn about each other and it was fun doing work with you."

"I remember that!" I smiled, "I finally got to learn that point system you were telling me about. You're a good teacher, Kyoya."

"My turn, my turn!" Hunny cheered. "It would have to be the first time we had cakie. That was when we first met and I knew that we were going to be great friends!"

"And we most certainly are, Hunny!" I giggled towards my fellow senior. Now it was Takashi's turn and I was really curious to hear what he was going to say.

"If I had to choose from all the ones we've had," that made me blush, "it would have to be our first kiss."

"How did that even happen?" Kaoru asked.

"And when was that?" Hikaru asked as well.

"It was when we went to the beach and at night when that thunder storm appeared. Setsuna was screaming in her room, so I rushed in to see what was wrong. She pointed out that there was a spider on her bed and I went to dispose of it," Takashi told the story. "When I came back, she hugged me and then after letting go she slipped on the sheets that were on the floor. I grabbed onto her so that she wouldn't get hurt, but I fell down with her and I landed on top of her. That's was when we kissed."

I leaned towards Takashi and placed a kiss on his lips. Everyone around us just smiled at the sight and I was sure that my face was completely red. I then felt Takashi's hand hold my own and I just smiled at him.

"It's one of my favorites, too," I whispered in his ear.

"Happy birthday, Setsuna!" I heard someone shout.

I turned to look and there I found the last four people that I was waiting for to arrive. Leading the way was the Watari cousins, with Anzu holding a bright green box in her hands, and both Kain and Shigeru behind them. I told the others that I would be back and walked towards the direction of the group that just arrived. The first to hug me was Arashi, followed by Kain, then Shigeru, and lastly Anzu.

"Where should I leave your present?" Anzu asked after releasing my from our hug.

"I can take it," I offered to her. "Let me take you to meet my otou-san and you can grab some food."

I took the whole group to meet otou-san and they then grabbed some food to eat. I pointed out to Anzu where Haruhi and the guys were at so that they could hang with them as I went to go drop off the present. She smiled and said that she would meet us there and began to lead all the boys towards the direction of the Host Club. When I came back from leaving the gift in the living room, I smiled at the fact that my friends were all getting along so well. Not a single problem nor issue has occurred thus far and I was loving it.

"Is it just me or is everyone dreading going back to school after this amazing summer break," Arashi stated before a swig from his drink.

"I'm actually looking forward to going back to school," Haruhi answered.

"Surprisingly, I kinda am too. I mean, don't get me wrong, I love vacation time. But at some point, I do eventually kind of get bored," I told them from my seat next to Takashi.

"Have you all done your summer homework?" Anzu asked the whole group.

A mix chorus of answers we sent to the air. Majority of us were done with our summer homework, with the exception of a few people. That being said, a discussion of the types of homework that we received begun. In my mind, that was the perfect time for Takashi and I to have some privacy time away from the others before having to be called back. I excused myself from the conversation at hand and went to go ask otou-san if we needed anything from the kitchen or the house since I was going to the "bathroom".

"Would you be able to bring out another case of water bottles and case of beer, please?"

I smiled, "Sure! I'll ask someone to help me out as soon as I am done."

Plan was now in action. I went inside the house after removing my shoes and went towards the kitchen. Once I made sure that I was alone, I pulled out my cell phone and texted Takashi to come inside the house and help me with something. While I waited, I made sure to actually check and see whether we had the beer and water bottles since otou-san had already about four beers and I wasn't too positive when he was started to feel the alcohol.

"Setsuna?" I heard my voice being called from the hallway.

"In here," I called back.

Takashi walked into the kitchen and asked, "What do you exactly need help with?"

"Well you see," I sheepishly smiled, "I need help carrying some drinks outside. But before we do that, I was able to get us five minutes of alone time."

"Did you?"

"Yes I did," I walked towards him and wrapped my arms around his neck as he wrapped them around my waist in the form of a hug. "Mission accomplished."

"Well done," Takashi placed a kiss on my forehead.

"You know, I am not ready to go back to school now that I think about it."

"Why is that?"

I slightly pulled back from the hug and pouted, "Because now I have to share you during Host Club hours."

"At least it's just Host Club time. I have to share you during school hours," Takashi pointed out to me.

"Who do you have to share me with?" I laughed.

"Our classmates. Our teachers. Practically everyone."

"As long as you promise to behave during Host Club time, I promise as well during school hours," I joked.

"And if you don't?" Takashi began to tease me by placing kisses on my cheek, moving so slowly towards my lips.

"Well, I guess I have to be punished," I whispered into his ear.

"Sounds fair," Takashi spoke before kissing me fully on the lips.

As soon as I started getting into the kiss, I heard my phone ring. I groaned as I was forced to pull away from Takashi and looked at who it was that had sent me a text. The text was from Haruhi stating that people were now wondering where Takashi and I went off to.

I sighed, "Guess time is up."

"We can always go for another five minutes some other time. Are you going to plan another scheme," Takashi joked.

"Hey, at least it worked," I playfully smacked his chest. "Now help me with the drinks."

Once we were outside, I noticed the teasing looks that my group of friends were sending me. That had caused me to blush.

"You okay, Suna-chan?" Ranka-san asked me.

"A-Ah, yes. It's just a bit hot and I think a nice cold drink will freshen me up," I stammered for a bit.

"Before you take your drink, you may want to turn around," Ranka-san smiled.

I turned to look and there I found otou-san carrying a big cake that had eighteen candles already lit up. How in the world did he get that done so fast was beyond me. All around me, people began to sing "Happy Birthday" to me. That finally did it. It finally hit me that I was now officially eighteen years old.

"Make a wish, Suna-chan!" Haruhi smiled at me.

I thought about it for a few seconds until it finally came to me. Breathing in and exhaling the air, I blew out the candles. Everyone then applauded and otou-san had me slice the first piece of cake. At first, I actually struggled slicing the cake. That was when I noticed that this was no ordinary cake. It was an Oreo's cookies and cream cake! This day couldn't get any better.

Hours passed by and people began to leave back towards their respective homes. One by one I thanked everyone that came to my birthday party. The first group to leave was otou-san's friends. The second was Fuka and her friends, since she was going to have a sleepover at one of their houses. I even managed to get a hug from my little sister. Her excuse for allowing me to touch her was the fact that it was my birthday. The next group that left was Anzu and the guys.

"Thank you all so much for coming," I hugged Arashi before moving to Shigeru next.

"Thank you for having us," Shigeru told me as he hugged me back.

"Enjoy your gift," Kain hugged me next.

"Let's hang out soon," Anzu told me.

"Definitely! Get home safely!" I waved them off.

After they had left, Kazumi and her friends were off. Kazumi told me that she had to go back to the dorms to get some work done and gave me a birthday hug. All that was left was the Host Club and Ranka-san. Well, more like just the Host Club seeing that otou-san and Ranka-san passed out in the living room. Well, I'm glad those two were able to have fun at my party. Considering the fact that her otou-san was knocked out on our couch, Haruhi decided to just sleepover. Luckily for her, she brought an emergency sleepover bag when she came.

"Are you two going to be alright cleaning everything?" Kyoya asked us as they prepared to go back to their own homes.

"Yeah, we got it, Kyoya. It's just putting away any unused food and stuff. Everything else has been cleaned," I told him.

"Well, let us know if you need anything," Hikaru and Kaoru told us.

"We'll be fine," Haurhi said.

"Daughter of mine, I hope you had fun today!" Tamaki gave me his infamous Tama-glomps.

"I did," I told him while laughing. "I had so much fun today. Thank you all for coming!"

"Thank you for the extra cakie, Suna-chan!" Hunny glomped me while balancing his ice cream cake that was on a plate being covered my aluminum foil.

"It's no problem, Hunny!"

One by one, they began to walk out the door until the last one that was left was Takashi. As soon as he stood in front of me, I pulled his shirt and kissed him. He didn't object and simply pulled me closer.

"Happy birthday, Setsuna," Takashi whispered as we pulled back from the kiss. "Hope you like the gift I got you."

"Thank you, Takashi. I'll call you later."

Now that it was just Haruhi and I left, we started putting away all the things that needed to be put in their proper places. It took us roughly about fifteen minutes to put everything away when we decided to go up to my room and watch a movie since our fathers were asleep in the living room.

"Are you going to open your gifts now, Suna-chan?" Haruhi asked as she helped me carry the present to my room.

"I guess so. We can do it while we watch a movie," I told her while balancing the gifts and opening my door.

As soon as we entered, we placed down the gifts on the floor and I went to grab my laptop so that I could play a movie. Before coming up to my room, Haruhi had picked out a movie and I was now popping in Alice In Wonderland. We both went down the stairs quietly to get some snacks and stuff to drink. Once we were back in my room, we readied ourselves and pressed play to the movie.

"Which present do you want to open first?" Haruhi asked me as we looked at the seven gifts that surrounded me.

"How about the one with the balloon wrapping paper," I told her as I reached over and grabbed it.

Looking at the note card, I saw that it was from my family. I shook the box to see whether I could hear something so that I could guess what was in it. I heard some rattling and that was my cue to open the gift. I began to unwrap the wrapping paper only to find a box of cereal in my face. I sweat dropped while Haruhi just laughed and told me to open the box. Opening it, I found a card that contained ten thousand yen. Leave it to my family to give me money.

'They know me so well,' I thought to myself as I placed down the card next to me.

"Let's see what is in the two pink ones," I said as while reaching for them. "Oh, they are from otou-san's friends."

The first pink bag that I opened contained a small black box and saw that it was a lipstick. Looking at the label, I noticed that it was from the MAC store and that it was from the new Maleficent line. Pulling the lipstick out, I just awed at the redness of the lipstick. It was just so pretty. The second item that I pulled out was a cherry blossom scented bath set. It smelled so good. I placed my new two presents and placed them next to the card. The second bag contained a cucumber scented bath set; my second favorite scent after the cherry blossom one.

"Open this one," Haruhi passed me a green wrapped box. "It's from Anzu and the guys."

I smiled and immediately went to unwrapping and opening the box. Inside I found three different Panic! At The Disco shirts. I gave a little shout of excitement as I hugged the shirts to my chest. They know me so well. I went to grab the next gift and saw that it was a wrapped in pink and had little yellow crescent moons all around it.

"Oh this is from you and your otou-san!"

I carefully unwrapped the gift because I just loved the wrapping that was used. As I carefully peeled the wrapping, I started to notice what it was. There I found the second Sailor Moon box set that I needed. Immediately, I grabbed Haruhi and enveloped her into a hug.

"Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!"

Haruhi hugged me back, "I noticed when you were sick a while back that you had only the first set. Now you have all of them."

"Haruhi, you're the best friend a girl can have!"

"You too, Suna-chan!"

After that little sentimental best friend moment, I went to grab the next box that was wrapped in white wrapping paper and a red bow. It was from the Host Club. As soon as I unwrapped and opened the box, I was in awe and I just laughed. The first thing that I grabbed was all these various candies, teas, and instant coffees. Leave it to the guys of this club to place in this that they like. The next thing that I pulled out was a beautiful navy dress that had a full skirt, a bateau neckline, cap sleeves, and a bow that was around the waist. It was beautiful!

"Wow," I awed as I stood up and held the dress against me.

"That is going to look beautiful on you, Suna-chan. Maybe you should wear it on a date with Mori-senpai," Haruhi teased.

"Oh, I most definitely will," I told her as I made my way towards the closet and hung the dress.

"Time for the last present," Haruhi said as she grabbed it and read who it was from. "It's from Mori-senpai."

"Really!" I immediately rushed back and sat down next to her.

She handed me the gift and I read the note card on the box.

"To my very own Usako," I read and then began to open the blue wrapped box. "Oh my stars," I gasped.

Inside the box, I saw two black velvet boxes. I grabbed one of them and as soon as I saw it, I just couldn't look away from. Inside was an exact replica of the Sailor Moon Star Locket that Usagi had in the anime. It was a beautiful gold color and I carefully opened the lid. Immediately, I heard the sweet lullaby that appears in the anime. In the center was a pink gem that has a gold crescent moon next to it that was beginning to spin around the gem, revealing pink phases of the moon. Placing it back inside of the black velvet box, I grabbed the other one and equally gasped at the content that was inside of it. It was the pocket watch that Mamoru had in the manga. It was a beautiful silver color pocket watch that was made as a necklace that actually told the time. Behind the hands showed a sun or a moon that had stars around it.

I'm definitely going to marry Takashi.

"They're beautiful," Haruhi said as she awed at the items.

"I-I don't even have words to express how much this means to me," I breathed out. "They are so beautiful. I am scared to wear them."

I then began to place everything away and placed the two velvet boxes on top of my drawer before sitting down next to Haruhi and watching the movie.

"By the way, Suna-chan, what did you wish for?"

I turned to look at her and said, "If I told you, it wouldn't come true."

I wish that I continue to be happy with my family. Both my biological family and my non-biological family.
