Chapter 50: Complaints and Animes

"Why is your bag so heavy? And why did we leave early?"

Note to self, never let anyone bribe you. Fuka had me carrying her book bag to school this morning since she brought up the whole costume fiasco. I need to tell otou-san about the club and the outfits that we have to use. It's been only two days since she started blackmailing me and I'm already over it. She has me do her chores, bring snacks to her room, tell her that she is the favorite of the family. It's starting to get on my nerves.

"None of your business and because I wanted to," she taunted my misery.

As soon as we entered the gates of Ouran, she took the bag and headed her merry way. I was ready to flip her off, but I held my cool and just made my way inside the high school division. I greeted some classmates and Host Club customers when I found a nice spot where the sun was hitting just right. I pulled out "The Night Circus," the most recent book that I was re-reading. At first it was confusing since the story went between characters and time periods, but this second time was much easier. The story between Celia and Marco was beautiful and filled with wonder. I was reading for a while before I felt someone looming right next to me.

"Is it a good book?"

The face of someone whom I've never met stood before me. She had long dark hair with layers that framed her face. Her eyes were dark and capturing. How come I've never seen her before?

"Ah, yeah. It's called 'The Night Circus.' It's about a circus that only opens when the sunsets and closes at sunrise. Not only that but it is also the tale of two people, named Celia and Marco, who are magicians and unknowingly have to compete against one another until there is one winner. There are many character point of views and it happens in different time periods. It's a beautiful story."

She took a seat next to me as I explained the story. She had this stare that felt piercing, yet calming. I wonder what year she is in.

"It sounds like an interesting story. How is the magic in this book?"

"Well, Celia she is an illusionist. Marco uses glyphs and sympathetic magic and illusory worlds. The two were trained by other magicians as well."

"What is the author's name? I'd like to get a copy of this book."

I closed the book and pointed, "Erin Morgenstern. If you'd like, I don't mind lending you my book once I'm done reading it. I'd rather you not waste any money in case you don't like it."

"It's alright, I'd rather get my own copy to take notes. But would you mind if we met to discuss the magic in the book? I'd like to hear your perspective of it and such."

"Oh that would be cool. I'd like to. My name is Ayase Setsuna. Class 3-A."

"Kanazuki Reiko. Class 1-D. Pleasure to meet you, Ayase-senpai."

I exchanged numbers with Reiko before heading towards class. She seems like a nice person. I wonder if Haruhi and the Twins have met her before. As soon as I entered my class, I noticed that I was the last one to enter. Did I miss the bell? Right as that thought entered my mind, the chimes of the bell indicating that class was beginning were rung.

"Suna-chan! Why were you late? Takashi, Usa-chan, and I were worried."

I patted Hunny's head while taking a seat, "I lost track of time. At least I made it."

"Ah," Takashsi nodded his head. He gave me a smile before our teacher came in.

The day went on rather quickly and was pretty much like any other day. That is, until the hour and a half before school ended. The same lady that helped me on the first day appeared at our classroom door.

"Ayase Setstuna, the Chairman would like to speak with you."

I looked at Takashi and Hunny confused before standing up from my seat and following her out the room. She didn't speak much as she led me to the Chairman's office, which put me in a rather nervous mood. Why am I being called in at such a random time? We stopped outside of his office and waited for his response to allow me in.

The door behind me closed as soon as I stepped in. The Chairman was looking down, more than likely writing something. He looked up quickly, smiling and pausing what he was currently working on before standing up.

"Hello, Ayase Setsuna. Thank you for coming in," Chairman Suoh shook my hand and led me to the empty chair in front of his desk.

"It's no problem, sir," I smiled nervously.

He was tall with light brown hair and brown eyes. He wore a light colored suit and a pinstriped tie. Now that I look at him, there isn't much resemblance to Tamaki. I looked at his desk and saw the normal things you would find: a phone, paperwork, pens, more paperwork. But I noticed a picture frame on there. In that picture was a small blond child and a beautiful blonde woman. I wonder if that's Tamaki's mother.

"I'm sorry that it's taken long to speak with you. How are you liking the school so far?"

"I'm loving it. The curriculum is challenging, which I enjoy, and I have made great friends."

"Yes, my precious little Tamaki has told me all about you," he smiled and grabbed the picture, hugging it. "Isn't he such a wonderful boy?!"

Now I see the resemblance.

"He's a good friend. Sir, I hate to intrude, but is that woman his mother? In the picture."

"Yes, that's his mother," he looked at the picture before placing it down. "Now, let's get to business. We've had some complaints about you, Ayase-chan."

"Complaints?"

What?

"Yes, unfortunately, a student who wishes to remain anonymous doesn't think it's fair that you are wearing the male uniform and that you are a part of the Host Club."

"But, I don't wear dress pants with them anymore. I've begun to only wear skirts to differentiate it. Also, Haruhi wears the male uniform and is part of the club. I joined that club so that I could help Haruhi."

"Fujioka Haruhi has an unfortunate situation that requires her to dress as a male, thanks to my son. But you don't. I'm sorry to say this, but you'll have to start wearing the female uniform. It is a school requirement. As for the Host Club, you're allowed to stay a part of it. I know you're doing it to help her, so I will allow it."

"Yes, sir, and thank you."

Who would do such a thing? I mean, wouldn't it be much easier to talk to me or something. And trying to kick me out of the club? What's with that? I internally cried.

"We'll provide new uniforms for you today. You may keep the blazers, since we have multiple here. Is there anyone who would be able to take home the uniforms for you so you won't have to carry them?"

"I can try calling my sister. She doesn't have class today."

"Go ahead and use my phone. I'll step out to give you some privacy and to get the uniforms from my assistant."

"Thank you, sir."

He gave me a smile before stepping out. I sighed and grabbed his phone, dialing Kazumi's number. When she picked up the phone I explained the situation that I'm in. At first, she laughed for about two minutes and after calming down she just said that my situation sucked. She was more than willing to come and pick them up. I thank her before hanging up the phone. A minute later, Chairman Suoh came in along with his assistant, carrying two sets of uniforms: five long sleeved and five short sleeved.

"Here they are. You may go ahead and change in the restroom through that door," he directed me to the door that was towards the right. "Here is the uniform along with a pair of shoes."

I nodded my head and made my way into the restroom. How they know my shoe size, I won't question. Looking at the lemon colored dress just made me sad. I guess standing out by just a little is something that people don't like here. I removed the my flats, skirt, blazer, shirt and tie before placing on the white tights and yellow dress. Placing on the shoes, I was glad that they were at least comfortable. I folded my pervious set of clothes before stepping out of the restroom.

"You look so adorable!" The Chairman gave a excited shout.

"Um, thank you," I smiled with a confused look.

"Once we get to the colder seasons, a jacket will be provided for you, so no need to worry. Also, during the weekend someone will come and pick up your uniforms to have them cleaned, so you won't also have to worry about that."

"Thank you, sir."

"Ayase-san, your sister is here," the Chairman's assistant informed me.

"And that's our cue. I hope to see you again, Ayase-chan."

"Same, sir."

When I met up with Kazumi, she was ready to release a laugh the moment she saw me.

"Go ahead," I motioned.

She laughed, "You just look miserable."

"I am. You try wearing tights like these with a dress like this. But thanks for coming. I know otou-san is at work and didn't want to bother him. I hope I didn't bother you."

"Nah, I was just at home washing my clothes. Are you going to have to return the blazers?"

"He said I could keep them," I handed her the set of dresses and the bag that was given to me to place my old ones.

"I don't know why someone complained. It's your senior year. You're not gonna be needing these after you graduate."

"That's true. But, I have to follow the Chairman's orders. I don't want to get in trouble."

With that she took the clothes and left back home. Now to face my class. Good thing that there is only half an hour left. I was already lucky enough that there was no one in the hallways, but as I stood in front of the door of my class, I was reluctant to go in. With a deep breath in and out, I opened the door and walked in.

"A-Ayase-san, welcome back. Have a seat. Morinozuka-san took notes for you."

I nodded my head and walked to my seat. Loud whispers were heard from all around me. As I sat down, I tugged on the short sleeve of the dress, feeling uncomfortable with the stares that I was receiving. I mentally thanked my teacher for grabbing their attention and continuing on with the lesson. I only felt two stares that I was already familiar with. I looked at Takashi and Hunny, mouthing that I'd explain at the Host Club.

Once we were dismissed for the day, I quickly bolted from seat with my bag in hand and quickly made my way out. I didn't want to hear my classmates anymore. Takashi and Hunny followed after me. Walking into the Third Music Room, I slammed open the doors and made my way to one of the couches. I threw my backpack to the ground and just slumped onto the couch. Everyone one just looked at me in shock and confusion.

"Suna-chan, are you okay?" Haruhi sat next to me.

"No, not at all. Look at me! I have to wear this! All because someone complained to the Chairman. And whoever that person was tried to get me kicked out of the Host Club as well!"

"What?!" Tamaki, Hikaru, and Kaoru shouted.

"Whoever this person is apparently thinks it's not fair that I didn't wear the girl's uniform. And I guess they also don't want me to be in the club. I mean, who am I causing harm to by wearing the boy's blazer and a skirt? Ugh!"

Haruhi rubbed my back as soon as I bent down towards my knees. Bless her for trying to help and calm me down.

"Maybe it was a customer?" Hikaru and Kaoru considered a possibility.

"But who though? We get a lot of customers," Hunny pointed.

"I can ask my father and see who it was," Tamaki spoke.

"No, it may cause even more problems," I murmured underneath my hands.

"What if we looked into in? Investigate who might be the culprit," Kyoya brought up the possibility.

"And if we do figure out who it was, what then? I just don't want any more problems. I'll get over it. I'm just gonna go get ready for today's theme," I stood up and made my way towards the dressing rooms.

Trying to forget all that happened, I began to dress into my Sailor Moon costume. Seeing that I had already tried on Usagi's senshi uniform, it wasn't difficult to figure out what went where. When I placed on the knee high boots, I felt a little better. My love for Sailor Moon is just too much. As soon as I opened the curtain, Sora and Roxas from Kingdom Hearts was waiting for me.

"C'mon, Setsuna-senpai. Time to put on your wig and blue contacts," Hikaru, who was dressed as Sora, began to pull me.

"Do I have to put on contacts?"

"Do you really want to look like Sailor Moon?" Kaoru, who was Roxas, sat me down on the chair.

"Yes."

"Contacts it is then!" The two raved.

Kaoru began placing my hair in a bun as Hikaru got the wig ready. When one was done, the other was getting the next item ready. Hikaru handed Kaoru the wig cap that I would need and placed it on me while making sure that none of my real hair would stick out. Hikaru placed on the wig easily and with a few tugs and some hidden bobby pins, it was done.

"I've never worn contacts before," I mentioned as Kaoru handed me the pack.

"It's not difficult, just don't freak out when you place them on," Hikaru assured me.

"Also, these are prescribed to your eyesight. They shouldn't bug you at all," Kaoru noted.

"Alright, here I go."

Placing on the contacts is the weirdest sensation ever. As the first one touched my eye, I squirmed and stopped. Hikaru and Kaoru told me to calm down and try again. From there, I was able to put it on. It felt as if though they would roll to the back of my eyes, but they were in place. Opening my eyes, the color blue popped right at me.

"Weird," I mused as while looking at my eyes.

"Makeup time!"

Foundation and concealer was first placed and then set with setting power. Eyebrows were filled and eyeliner, and mascara was placed. Bronzer, blush, and highlight was next. Last a light pink sheer lipstick was painted on my lips. The last step was spraying on a setting spray so that the makeup would stay in place. As soon as they finished, all the remaining accessories were placed one. I was officially Sailor Moon, champion of justice.

"This is actually making me feel way better," I smiled. "I love it!"

"Glad you do," Kaoru patted my shoulder.

"Let's go show everyone. Oh, here is your moon stick," Hikaru handed me the prop replica.

"Oh my stars, you got me a moon stick!" I cheered. I've always wanted to have one.

"Yeah, you can keep it when we are done today," the two wrapped their arms around my shoulders, leading me back to the main room.

"Thanks, guys!"

It seemed that even though I was the first one to get ready, everyone else was already in costume. Tamaki and Kyoya, dressed as Naruto and Sasuke, were having a discussion. Haruhi was pulling down Kairi's dress and asking why she couldn't have been a different character. Hunny, dressed as Chibiusa, with the wig, contacts, and all, was telling her that she looked great. And there standing tall behind him was Takashi, dressed as Tuxedo Mask. I'm loving this already.

"Haruhi, I like this look on you! Though the skirt could be an inch or two longer," I approached her.

"We think it looks fine," Hikaru and Kaoru defended their choice in length.

"You aren't the ones wearing it," Haruhi huffed.

"Suna-chan! How do I look?" Hunny jumped towards me. Oh my stars, he really does look like a little girl. They even made Usa-chan look like Luna-P. I can't!

"You look great! Are you feeling comfortable in the costume?"

"I do!"

"Alright, just don't be jumping up and down too much."

I was about to move towards Takashi, but Tamaki called out that we were about to open for our customers. Sighing, I made my way towards the center of the room with everyone else. My pose was her trademark one: my right hand was closer to my chest with my index and thumb sticking out, while my left, that was held out more, had my index, thumb, and pinkie out. Before I could look and see how everyone else was standing, the door to the Third Music Room opened.

"Welcome!"

Cue the "kyah!" Kyoya had me sit with my fellow seniors and thus, our day began.

The Host Club Is Open

"Setsuna-senpai, we almost didn't recognize you!" One of the girls told me.

"Yes, you look amazing as a blonde! Would you ever consider dying your hair that color?" Another asked.

"I don't know. I'd more than likely do a soft grey or a bright color, like teal. I'd find that more fun," I smiled as I handed them some sweets.

"Hunny-senpai, you look so adorable!"

"Mori-senpai looks handsome too!"

That was the usual jest we heard about our costumes. I looked around and saw Tamaki posing with the various kunai. One moment he was shouting about protecting them all and in the next he was leaning in very close, announcing his vow to protect their hearts as well. Kyoya was sitting in the tables next to Tamaki. He was speaking coolly to the customers and they were all amazed in the fact that he didn't have his glasses on. Hikaru and Kaoru were showing the girls how they fought with the keyblades against each other. Hikaru hit Kaoru in the arm, causing their "brotherly love" technique to be used. Haruhi was sitting in her usual spot. All the girls were fawning over her costume, saying that "he" should cosplay more in women's costumes. While I was looking around, a red rose appeared in front of my eyesight.

I grabbed the rose and looked at Takashi, "Thank you."

He grabbed my hand and placed a kiss on it, "Anything for you, Usako."

My face turned red and all the girls loved it. Renge appeared out of nowhere, cheering with all the girls.

"This is the type of moe we all want! Renge can eat 5 bowls of rice!"

"It's a real life romance!" Another cheered.

"And with Hunny-senpai dressed Chibiusa, it's like they are a real family!"

Takashi and I turned to look at each other before looking down at Hunny. At the same time, he turned to look at us and smiled. We looked at each other again before we blushed even harder than before.

"Kyah~!"

It wasn't long before we were waiting for our next set of customers. As we waited, Kaoru pulled me in back to the dressing rooms to check up on my makeup. A simple touch up of lipstick and I was making my way back to my group.

"Suna-chan," Haruhi called me over, struggling with two trays with tea.

"Here, let me get one of them," I took one of the trays. "Where to?"

"I have to take this one to Hikaru and Kaoru's table and the one you have to Kyoya-senpai's table," she directed me.

"For sure. I'll take it to him."

"Thank you, Suna-chan! I don't want to drop another set and have more money added to my debt."

"We should probably ask how much you have left."

"Please remind me later."

I nodded my head and made my way to Kyoya's table. I placed the tray down and he thanked me. His customers then began to tell me how much they loved my costume and if I planned on dressing up for Halloween.

"We plan on having a theme for Halloween. It's a surprise," Kyoya told them.

I wonder what it's gonna be. Once back with my group, we had some customers ask us a rather odd request.

"Would it be possible if we can have pictures of you both, Mori-senpai and Setsuna-senpai?"

"Yes, please? We love when you two have matching costumes."

"Um, we would have to ask Tamaki first," I started saying.

"Don't worry, ladies," Kyoya appeared quickly. "We will be taking pictures of all Hosts in today's costumes for our annual magazine."

Multiple chorus of asking for preorders and number of copies were heard. All the girls in the room made their way to him to start ordering, leaving us some alone time.

"I want a personal copy," Takashi whispered.

"I'm sure you probably already have one," I giggled.

"Maybe on my phone."

"When did you take a picture?" I laughed.

He pulled out his phone, "When you walked in after finishing getting ready. You had this glow of pure happiness."

He showed me the picture and I blushed.

"In that case, I want a picture too."

I pulled out my phone from the inside of my boots and faced it towards him. He gave me a smile; a perfect picture.

Host Club activities were finally done for the day, along with our photo shoot. The first thing I did was remove the wig, tiara, and contacts, finally feeling comfortable. I sat down on the couch, too tired to start changing. Takashi sat next to me, now back in his uniform.

"Aren't you going to change?"

"I don't want to," I sighed. "Hey, you know what I just realized?"

"What is it?"

I turned to face him, "We don't have a picture of us together."

He grabbed his phone and pulled me towards him. I laughed and grabbed his phone holding it out to take the picture. After we took one, Kaoru came out and offered to take another picture. He told us he took plenty and made me go change. Once I was changed, Haruhi and I said our goodbyes to everyone else and headed home.

"So who do you think made a complaint?" Haruhi asked as we turned onto her street.

"I dunno. It could be anyone really."

"Well let's hope nothing else happens. I'll see you later, Suna-chan."

"Bye. I'll pass by tomorrow morning to pick you up."

Once she left, I started thinking who could have done it. A series of text messages stopped me from over thinking it. Takashi sent me all the pictures from his phone. I smiled and stopped walking. With a series of taps, the picture I took of us was set as my new home screen. With a new sense of happiness, today's troubles were slowly going away. All with a simple picture on my phone.
