Episode one: A New Beginning.
Hello everyone, Onceler here. This is my new fanfic! So my last one was rushed, and I didn't like it, so this is a reboot to that one. But this time Tyler is the main character from the start, and will be showing how he goes from Tyler Kennard, the 15 year old football player who loves comic books, to Spider-Guy, the hero who saved Canada multiple times from the evil forces that lie within. But note, this is a going to be a dark fanfic with a lot of death, jokes that people may not like, and teenagers being teenagers (like drugs and drinking alcohol). So if you don't want any part of that, please exit the premises. Anyways, enjoy Chapter one of Spider-Guy: Freshman Year!
"Welcome to McLean Valley Highschool!" a man said as Tyler walked through the front doors. He took a look around, and saw some familiar faces. He had went to school with nearly everyone here in the past, so at least he wasn't a new guy. He had taken a tour of the school a few weeks ago, and he was still amazed at it. It was the most advanced school in Canada. Unlimited programs, limitless recourses, and a HUGE fund. Tyler looked around until he saw someone. He ran over to the person. "Hey Harold!" Tyler said. "Greetings Tyler", Harold said back. Tyler and Harold had been friends since the fourth grade. Harold was only a bit shorter than Tyler. He had orange hair, and wore green glasses with a blue dress shirt that had a strange burger sewn onto the pocket, and khaki pants with brown shoes. Tyler wore a red track suit with red accents. He also had dark brown hair and yellow eyes.
Tyler and Harold talked as they went to their first class. Before they could successfully get there, they saw a kid getting beaten up by the bullies from last year, Duncan, Geoff, and Dj. They were beating up a kid who must have been new, because neither of them recognized him. "C'mon Duncan, just leave the guy alone and let's get to class!" Dj said. "Nah man, we gotta teach this loser that we're his superiors." Duncan said back. Tyler and Harold walked over to them. "Leave him alone Duncan." Tyler said. "Yeah man, not cool." Harold added. Duncan let the kid go and walked over to Tyler and got up in his face. "What are you gonna do about it?" Duncan said. Tyler shoved him back, causing Duncan to trip over the kid who was picking up his things, causing him to fall over and smash his head on the ground. Geoff ran over and helped Duncan up. "Whatever, losers." Duncan said to them as he waved for Geoff and Dj to leave with him. Tyler walked over and helped the boy up. He was a shorter boy, with pale skin and brown hair. He also had a blue toque on. "You alright?" Tyler asked. "Yeah, thanks.." the boy said as he gathered his things. "What's your name?" Harold asked. "Ezekiel, eh." he said. Ezekiel finished gathering his things and put them in his satchel. "Thanks again, eh." "No problem guy." Tyler responded. Ezekiel stared for a second before hurrying off to his first class. "Poor guy," Harold said "I hate when Duncan harasses people just because they're new or smarter than him." Tyler nodded. "We'd better get to OUR first class, we don't want to be late on the first day!" Tyler said. The two boys fist bumped before parting to their classes.
As Tyler walked into the classroom, the bell rang. There were nametags on all of the desks, so it seemed that their seats had already been assigned. He walked around from desk to desk until he found the one with his name on it. The other students flooded into the room and found their seats. The teacher still hadn't arrived so everyone was talking. Tyler looked to his right, and saw Ezekiel! Looks like they had the same first period. "Hey Ezekiel!" Tyler said to him. Ezekiel looked over and waved. "Oh, hey...what was your name again?" Ezekiel asked. "Tyler." "Hey Tyler." Ezekiel finished. Then Tyler looked to his left and saw that there wasn't anybody at the desk. Then, the teacher walked into the room and to the front. "Hello class, I'm Mr. Kobold, and welcome to math class.". Mr. Kobold went over the rules of his classroom and how he graded things. He then passed out a get to know me paper. Tyler breezed through it, and was the first one done. After a few moments, the door opened. A young man Tyler knew walked in. He had long, brown, hair and dark blue eyes. He wore a black t-shirt with a Ghostface mask on it, and over top of that a brown flannel shirt. He also had dark blue jeans, and brown hiking boots. He also had on a pair of glasses on. "You must be...Elias Bartlett!" Mr. Kobold said. "Yup, that's me," Elias responded. "Most of my friends call me Bart though". Elias walked down the isle of desks, glancing at everyone. He eventually sat down on Tyler's left. "Sup bro?" Elias said to him. "Hey Bart," Tyler said back. "How was your summer?" "You know how it is, spending every day in my dad's mansion playing all the games I could want." Elias responded. Elias's father was the CEO of Bartcorp. A multi-billion dollar corporation, that produces the latest technology and sells it to the military. Bartcorp was also the school's funder, meaning Elias basically had the rights to the school. After Elias had gotten settled into his seat, the rest of class went on. It was boring, mostly because it was math. He had science next, which wasn't much better. At least he would be doing hands on activities and. lt just equations.
When it was time for science, Tyler looked around the room, amazed at everything in there. He wasn't the smartest guy, so he didn't know what most of these things did, but they were sure cool looking. As the rest of the students filled into their seats, the teacher walked in and started explaining the rules of the classroom, and safety things. After she finished talking, she told everyone about how there was a science fair coming soon, and how every students must enter it. They were allowed to build anything they wanted, as long as it wasn't dangerous. "Pssst! Tyler," Harold whispered. "Wanna be my partner for the project?" "Sure thing guy!" Tyler responded with a thumbs up.
After a few more periods, it was lunch time. Probably the best time of the day, other than gym class. Tyler got his lunch, and looked for a place to sit. After looking for A good thirty seconds, he spotted Harold sitting with Caelen and Bart. He walked over to them and sat down. "Hey Tyler," Harold said as he bit into his lunch. "I was just talking to Caelen about JoJo part four. Truly a masterpiece of film." "Cheers to that one lad." Caelen replied as he drank some tea. Bart was reading a Spider-Man comic book. "Spider-Man's pretty sick guy." Tyler said to Elias. "Eh, he's alright. I'm more of a fan of the villains rather than the good guys." Elias said, taking a bite out of a snickers bar. "Oh, by the way," Elias started. "I'm gonna be throwing a party, my Dad's gonna be out of town and Bernard is taking the week off, So I have the place to myself." "Awesome! I'll be there!" Harold said ecstatically. "Yeah, I got time." Caelen said, fist bumping Elias. "What about you Tyler?" Elias asked him. "I'll absolutely be there guy!" Tyler shouted. "Awesome. It's gonna be a big one, starting on Friday and ending on Sunday. So feel free to bring extra things in case you wanna sleep over." Elias told them. Elias lived in a huge mansion. His family is very wealthy, so he has everything he wants. He's also really smart, so even if he's spoiled he gets his own good grades, and wins a lot of science awards.
The day ended and Tyler walked home with Harold. The first day was actually pretty nice, other than having to stop Duncan from beating up Ezekiel. Speaking of which, Tyler hadn't seen Ezekiel since first period. He shrugged it off, and thought that maybe he had made some friends. "I can't wait for Elias's party, they always rock!" Harold said. "Yeah bro, it's gonna be awesome." Tyler added. Tyler and Harold split paths and walked the rest of the way home. When Tyler got there, he went to his room, and started working out. He did fifty sit ups before doing twenty push ups. After that, he grabbed a comic and started reading it. "I love Spider-Man.." Tyler said to himself. Just then, he got an idea for the science fair project. He threw the comic and called up Harold. "Harold! I know what we can do for our project!" Tyler shouted through the phone. This year was gonna be fun.
(And that's that! I know there wasn't any action in this chapter, but we need to build up for Tyler to become Spider-Guy. The next chapter will be out whenever I have time to write it, which hopefully will be soon! Thanks for reading, and I'll catch you next time. Onceler out!)
