I stood in front of the mirror and sighed. I couldn't stand looking at myself most days. But today, I was making myself.

I started at the top; my hair was too frizzy. It didn't sit calm, and sleek like most of the girls at Hogwarts. My face was plain. Dull hazel eyes peered out of barely there eyelashes, below a too large forehead. My nose was crooked, my lips too thin. My teeth were crooked and made my smile not so great. My breasts were small and very uneven. My tummy was way too flabby, along with my large hips. My mum said I had child-bearing hips. I said I had hips that got in the way of everything. Also, my freaking butt was flat. Like, I could get behind this whole big hips thing if I at least had a bubble butt. That would be cute. But no such luck.

Luckily, seeing as I am at Hogwarts, I am a witch. With a flick of my wand my hair straightened into a sleek cascade of embers pouring down my back. My dull eyes shone with the right amount of makeup. Another spell made my lips slightly plumper, and a glamour made my teeth appear straight.

Face done, I moved next to my breasts, making them even and a bit fuller. I pulled on my spanx to slim my tummy and hips. The final spell I cast was on my butt, making it more bubbly and less like a sheet of parchment.

I pulled on my uniform and looked in the mirror, and I smiled. I finally felt pretty..

He watched as she emerged from her dorm looking like a million galleons. She was undoubtedly pretty, but he could never understand why she put herself through all the spellwork each morning. He thought she was the most beautiful when she first woke up. Her hair a mess from sleep. Her eyes shining through her lashes, full of vigor and beauty. Her pink lips parted in a brilliant smile. She was the most beautiful girl he knew. He just wished she would see herself as he saw her, and maybe then she would understand.
