Hey, guys! Welcome to my first ever Sonic X story! I hope you guys enjoy the story...also, I don't own anything, except for my OC's.
NOW LET'S GET ON WITH THE STORY!
It was a peaceful and quiet night in Mobius as we cue over to Green Hills and see an obese anthropomorphic cat, sitting near a lake as he leaned against a tree, and pet the small frog that laying down next to him as the cat smiles warmly and chuckles lightly.
The anthropomorphic cat has small black eyes with pale yellow scleras, purple fur with dark violet stripes. A striped pattern runs up his arms and long tail. His feet are covered in dark violet fur up to his ankles as well as the outer tips of his large, triangular ears, while his upper legs, back, and sides are covered in purple fur. White fur that covers his chest, torso, muzzle, and inner ears. His outfit consists of yellow gloves, sandals, and a matching belt with a gold buckle. His name is Big the Cat.
Big's pet is a non-anthropomorphic green frog with a round body, medium-large eyes with pale yellow scleras and wide black pupils, and four limbs. Its limbs are rather thin, and each one has webbed feet with two toes each. It also has a pale green underbelly and dark green stripes around its body. His name is Froggy.
Big yawned as he closed his eyes, and was about to go to sleep. When suddenly, his ears perked up as he heard loud sirens coming from a large tower a few feet ahead of him, and saw two blue blurs racing towards it. Zooming in, we see an anthropomorphic hedgehog running at high speeds with a big grin on his face while an anthropomorphic lop-eared rabbit flew above him with a blue aura covering his small body.
The anthropomorphic hedgehog is a 15-year-old male with blue fur, emerald-green eyes, and peach skin that covers his arms, muzzle, and front torso. He has three long quills on the back of his head, two spines protruding from his back behind his shoulders, and a short tail. His attire consists of a pair of white gloves with sock-like cuffs on his hands, and two light-weight, hyper friction resistant red sneakers with white cuffs around the ankles. His name is Sonic the Hedgehog, the fastest thing alive.
The anthropomorphic lop-eared rabbit is a 7-year-old boy with sky blue eyes, a small pink nose, peach skin around his muzzle, and black fur with white markings around his eyes, arms, legs, ears, and back. He wears a long navy blue sweater that reaches to his legs, white gloves, and red sneakers. He also wears a big, floppy red hat that has two big holes in it, allowing his ears to pop out. His name is Warren the Rabbit, hero-in-training.
"Sonic! Dr. Eggman's fortress is straight ahead!" Warren yelled over the soaring wind as Sonic nodded.
"Got it! It's time to give Egghead a welcome surprise!" Sonic says before noticing Warren frown. "Hey, kid, you alright?"
"I'm fine. It's just that I hope Cream and Cheese are okay." Warren says, worried for his friends.
"Don't worry, Warren. Nothing is going to happen to your little girlfriend and Cheese. Not if I have anything to say about it." Sonic says, smiling at him reassuringly as Warren blushed embarrassedly.
"How many times do I have to say this, Cream is not my girlfriend! We're just friends!" Warren defensively shouted as Sonic rolled his eyes.
"Right," Sonic says with a knowing smirk as he amped up his speed, and ran past Warren as he reached Dr. Eggman's fortress.
The minute Sonic reached the base, several base defense turrets and robots appeared out of nowhere as they fired at the blue hedgehog. Sonic grinned as Warren flew in, and held out his hand as he made a small blue force-field around Sonic's body. Protecting him from the laser blasts as Sonic quickly rolled up into a ball, and used his infamous spin dash to destroy all the turrets, and robots.
Sonic uncurled as he landed on the ground, and gave his friend a thumbs-up. Warren smiled, but then his eyes went wide in surprise as more robots showed up and fired missiles at them. Sonic avoided the missiles without issue as Warren shot blue energy beams at the small rockets. Destroying them upon impact as more showed up, but Warren wasn't afraid as he made a blue force-field around himself. Protected him from the missiles as Sonic zipped past him, and was heading straight towards Eggman's fortress. An alarm went off as Sonic runs through the base, but stops in his tracks at the sight of a couple of E-12 Behemoth robots appearing out of nowhere while smashing through a wall. Reacting quickly, Sonic runs up a wall to avoid the robots as he took off in another direction, and runs up a slanted part of the base.

Sonic continued running for his life as he kept a short distance from the robots, and looks around for a way to escape. Suddenly, Sonic noticed a small hole on his left, conveniently his size as Sonic runs through it, and made it outside. Sonic sighs in relief, before yelping as he accidentally activated a trap, that was placed below him, and it springs him into the air.
"Whoa!" Sonic yelled just as the E-12 Behemoth suddenly appeared as he smashed through the wall, and raced after the falling Sonic as he punched the small animal away. Too distracted by his small victory, the giant robot didn't notice a blue light heading its way as Warren suddenly appeared, and smashes through the robot with ease. Blowing it up as Warren brushed off the explosion, and flew after his screaming friend as he caught Sonic by his arms.
"Got ya!" Warren says as Sonic smiled at him gratefully.
"Thanks for the lift, buddy!" Sonic says as Warren nodded.
"Anytime!"
"Sonic! Warren!" Blinking in surprise, the small animals turned around and saw a blue bi-plane flying towards them while carrying two passengers.
One of the passengers is an anthropomorphic 8-year-old male fox with blue eyes and a unique mutation of two tails instead of one. He has mostly yellow-orange fur with white fur around his muzzle, front torso, and tips of his tails. His outfit consists of white gloves and red shoes with white toes. His name is Miles "Tails" Power, Sonic's best friend and sidekick.
The other passenger is an anthropomorphic 12-year-old female hedgehog with green eyes, pink fur, and peach skin on her muzzle and arms. Unlike other hedgehogs, her spines are not spiky in appearance but are worn down like that of ordinary hair, somewhat resembling a bob cut. Her outfit consists of a red, sleeveless dress with white trims, a red hairband, wrist-length gloves with gold bracelets for cuffs, tall red boots with a white stripe down the center, and white cuffs. Her name is Amy the Hedgehog, Sonic's stalker and fangirl.
"Tails! Amy! Nice to see you join the party. What took you so long?" Sonic asked as Tails was about to respond, but the robots down below started shooting at them. Warren quickly tossed Sonic over at the plane as he then held out his hands and produced an energy wall that blocked the enemy's attack.
"Nice save, Warren!" Amy complimented as Warren smiled, and gave her a thumbs up.
"Yo, Tails! You mind giving me a ring?" Sonic asked as Tails nodded.
"You got it, Sonic!" Tails said as pressed a button, and a golden ring flew out of the plane as Sonic grabbed it.
"Thanks, buddy!" Sonic says before jumping out of the plane as the ring in his hand glowed brightly, and he enters his Super Spin Dash Mode. Sonic grinned as he crashed landed on the pavement harshly, and dashed towards Eggman's Fortress as the base's defense turrets. But the laser blasts bounced off of him as Sonic drilled through each of them and blew them up. Several Behemoths showed up to stop him, but Sonic pierces through them with ease as he raced towards the tower that was located in the middle of the base.
"Go, Sonic!" Warren cheered as Sonic dashed towards the tower and was about to reach it when suddenly an E-12 Behemoth robot appeared as it reared back his hand and smashes Sonic into the ground. Enraged, Warren's eyes glowed blue as he teleported over to the robot in a flash of light, and appeared in front of him as he reared back his hand, and punches through the robot's chest. Creating a large hole as Sonic appeared, unharmed by the attack as he drills through the robot's head, destroying it as he runs up to the tower with Warren flying after him.
"Alright! That was awesome!" Tails cheered, not noticing a laser blast flying towards him as it hits his plane, and sends him plummeting towards the ground.
"Ahh! We're gonna crash!" Amy screamed while panicking as Tails grits his teeth and tried everything in his power to lift his plane up. But no matter how hard he pulled the steering wheel, the Tornado 2 won't fly back up. Tails and Amy's eyes widen in fear as the plane was about to crash against the pavement. When suddenly, a red blur appeared as it grabbed the bi-plane with outstanding strength and placed it down gently.
"W-What happened?" Amy asked as Tails looks down, and gasped in surprise.
"Knuckles!" Tails cried out in joy as Knuckles nodded to him, before turning his gaze towards the fortress location as he saw the destruction left by Sonic and Warren's wake.
Knuckles is a 16-year-old anthropomorphic echidna with red fur, peach skin on his muzzle, a white crescent-shaped patch of fur on his chest, and purple eyes. He also has seven dreadlock-like spines on his head and a medium-sized, tri-crooked tail. His attire consists of a red/yellow shoes, each with green cuffs and a grey, sextuple-bolted plate on top. He also wears large, white, mitten-like gloves with sock-like cuffs and two spiked knuckles on each hand. His full name is Knuckles the Echidna.
"What's the matter with him?" Amy asked, a little upset as Knuckles saw explosions appear on the tower, and he scoffed.
"Overkill. Just like always." Knuckles says as he saw a blue glow coming from the tower, and he narrowed his eyes. "And, what's worse is that he got Warren involved." Knuckles says, annoyed as Tails and Amy jump out of the plane, and walk towards him.
"Vanilla called us earlier and told us that Eggman had kidnapped Cream and Cheese, and you know how overprotective Warren is with them, especially with Cream. Warren would've still shown up even if we said no." Amy says as Knuckles rolled his eyes, but nodded understandably as he and the others continued watching the boys destroy the base.
We then zoom into Dr. Eggman's fortress, where we see a yellow robot, named Decoe, looking over a map as he pressed a few buttons, before turning to his boss, who somewhat resembles an adult human male with a rotund and burly appearance with his torso and head coming together in an egg-like shape. He possesses no visible neck, a bald head, a bright red nose, and a very bushy mahogany mustache. He also has long, almost disproportionately thin arms and legs. His outfit consists of a red turtleneck jacket/coat, a black one-piece pants/boots, white cuffless gloves, and gray hexagonal-shaped goggles with navy blue pince-nez lenses. His name is Dr. Eggman, Sonic and Warren's sworn enemy.
"Doctor Eggman. The facility is in 100 percent lockdown." Decoe says to his boss, who growled in annoyance.
"Why does that cursed Sonic and Warren always get in my way!?"
"They don't get in your way, Dr. Eggman." A soft, female voice says as Dr. Eggman turns around to face the anthropomorphic lop-eared rabbit girl, who was trapped in a glass ball with a small blue creature as they hugged each other in fear.
The small, anthropomorphic lop-eared rabbit is a 6-year-old girl with cinnamon-brown eyes, cream fur, peach skin around her muzzle, and her ears were swiveled back. She also has Princeton orange markings around her eyes, on her head, and at the ends of her ears. Her outfit consists of a simple vermilion dress with a white-collar and blue cravat, white gloves with golden cuffs, and orange/yellow shoes. Her name is Cream the Rabbit.
The small blue creature is a Chao of standard coloration: light blue with yellow hands/feet, pink wings, a pointed yellow head with a yellow orb floating above it, and large blue eyes. His only piece of clothing is a red bow tie that he wears around his neck. His name is Cheese.
"Sonic and Warren are just trying to stop you from doing all the bad things you like to do."
"Chao-Chao!" Cheese affirmatively says, agreeing with his friend as Dr. Eggman grinned, and held out a red chaos emerald.
"Ooh, is that so? Well, they're too late to stop me this time!" Dr. Eggman says while walking over to a large machine that held all the other Chaos Emeralds inside. "Once I insert the last Chaos Emerald, my energy amplifier will be invincible!" Dr. Eggman says as Cream and Cheese's eyes widen in fear.
"But you can't do that!" Cream protests.
"Chao-Chao!" Cheese says, agreeing with his friend again as they didn't notice a female anthropomorphic bat sitting above them as she watched the scene in amusement.
The anthropomorphic bat is an 18-year-old woman with teal-colored eyes, white fur, orange-tan skin, short white hair that flares out at the back, and a curvaceous figure. She has large pointy ears, a bare muzzle with a small black nose, a short tail, and a pair of black wings on her back. Also, she wears blue eyeshadow and pink lipstick. Her outfit consists of a black skintight unitard with no sleeves, a pink, heart-shaped chest plate-like top with white trim, and tall white gloves/boots with pink cuffs. And, her boots have small heels with pink hearts on them. Her name is Rouge the Bat.
"Sonic and Warren won't let you get away with this! When they get here, you're going to be in big trouble!" Cream says as Dr. Eggman laughs maniacally.
"Sorry, creamy dreamy, but your little friend and boyfriend won't be here to stop me this time!" Dr. Eggman says as Cream blushed lightly.
"Warren is not my-" She didn't have time to finish her sentence as Sonic smashes right into the fortress's main room. "Sonic!" Cream shouted in glee as she was thrilled to see her friend, and her smile grew wider when Warren showed up as he flew into the room and landed beside Sonic. "Warren!" Cream happily cried as the blue glow covering Warren's body disappeared.
"Hey, Cream. Don't worry, we will get you and Cheese out of there in no time." Warren says while winking at her as she blushed again and nods with a small smile on her face.
"Chao-Chao!" Cheese says, happy to see his friends as Dr. Eggman stared at his enemies in shock.
"Sonic. Warren." The fat man says, not expecting them to come so soon, but Dr. Eggman swiftly regains his composure and grins. "Too late!" He says as the doctor quickly inserts the last Chaos Emerald into his device, and input a few buttons, before pulling out a connecting rod with a button on it. "You'll never stop me now, you brats! Ho ho ho! All I have to do is to push this little button." He says as Warren grins.
"Oh, so you mean that button you're holding?" Warren asked with his left hand sparkling with blue electricity as the doctor nodded.
"Yes, with one press of a button, I will-" Dr. Eggman says, before getting cut off by Warren. Who fired an electric blast at the line that connected the detonator to Eggman's energy amplifier and renders it useless. "Uh..." Dr. Eggman says while pressing the button on his detonator repeatedly as Sonic and Warren smirked at him. The doctor grew worried, before letting out an evil smile as he saw an E-13 Guardbot appearing behind the unsuspecting small heroes.
"Guys! Behind you!" Cream warned as the boys turned around and yelped as the robot opened fire at them. Sonic quickly hid behind Warren as the small rabbit made a blue energy shield appear in front of him that blocked all the robot's attacks.
"I'll deal with the robot! Go save Cream and Cheese!" Sonic says as Warren nodded, and lowers down his shield as the small blue hedgehog zips past him, and curled into a ball as he spins dashed towards the robot.
"Cover your heads!" Warren warns while running towards Cream and Cheese as they covered their heads, and Warren punches through the glass ball, freeing his friends.
"Yay! You saved us!" Cream says while hugging her friend as Warren blushed heavily.
"Yeah, I guess, I did," Warren says, before grunting as Cheese barrels into him, and hugs him.
"Chao-Chao!" Cheese excitedly says as Warren laughed.
"I'm happy to see you too, Cheese."
"Don't let him get away! Blast him!" Dr. Eggman says as E-13 Guardbot nodded, and tries to blast Sonic, who chuckles as he easily avoided the gunfire. Rouge's eyes widen as one laser blast narrowly hits her head, and she hid behind a pillar. "Stop him, no matter what!" Dr. Eggman says as Sonic jumps in front of him, and Guardbot aimed his hand towards him. "Ahhh! No! Hold your fire!" Dr. Eggman screamed as Guardbot shot at them, and Sonic zips away. Doctor Eggman panicked as he ducks to avoid gunfire, and the laser blast hits the energy amplifier, causing the machine to malfunction as Eggman's eyes widen in horror. "NO! YOU IDIOT! WHAT HAVE YOU DONE?!" Doctor Eggman screamed while panicking as the machine sparked, critically injured by the Guardbot's gunfire as it started glowing.
"Guys, what's happening?" Cream worriedly asked as Warren pushed her, and Cheese back protectively.
"Stay behind me, guys! Sonic, we need to go!" Warren yelled as Sonic nodded, and was about to run away when suddenly the machine brightly glows as it exploded, and Chaos Control takes place. Warren, in vain, tried to put up an energy shield to protect him and his friends, but Chaos Control effortlessly broke through his energy construct as it covered the entire area in a white void.
"What is that?" Amy asked while staring at the white void in fear/shock as she, Tails, and Knuckles sat together on a cliff.
"...It used to be Chaos Control." Knuckles solemnly says as the white void envelops Dr. Eggman's fortress, Big the Cat, and eventually them as they were all transported into another world.
After Chaos Control died down, we see an unconscious Sonic and Warren laying in the middle of a seemingly pitch-black background as Sonic groans, and wakes up.
"Ugh, man, I must've passed out or something," Sonic says while rubbing his head as he looks around, and saw a knocked-out Warren laying down next to him. "Warren! Buddy, are you alright?" Sonic asked while shaking him a bit as Warren yawned and woke up.
"Hey, Sonic. What happened?" Warren asked as Sonic was about to answer. When suddenly, the boys heard a strange noise behind them as they turned around and were shocked to see lights heading straight towards them. Sonic and Warren yelped as they quickly moved away; just another pair of twin lights appeared as Warren panicked, and closed his eyes. Reflexively making an energy shield in front of him and Sonic as a massive machine crashed into it. Opening his eyes, Warren was surprised to see an angry truck driver screaming at him as he and Sonic look around. And noticed that they were standing in the middle of an intersection with traffic continuously honking their horns at them.
"Hey! You busted my truck!" The truck driver says as Warren looks up to him sheepishly.
"Sorry about that," Warren apologized, before blinking as he realized that the truck driver has an uncanny resemblance to Dr. Eggman. In fact, the people standing around them all look like Dr. Eggman, except less ugly. "What the? Where are we? And who are they?" Warren asked rapidly while looking around his new surroundings in shock/wonder as Sonic shrugs.
"I have no idea, little buddy," Sonic says as he noticed that people around them were staring at them in confusion and shock. "Why are they staring at us?" Sonic asked, feeling creeped out by their staring as Warren tilted his head, confusedly.
"Don't know, but they sure do look freaky looking."
"What is this, Halloween?" The truck driver asked, finally noticing Warren and Sonic's appearance as 5 police officers showed up at the scene.
"What are those things?" Police Officer 2 asked.
"Looks like a blue hedgehog and a black bunny." Police Officer 4 says while taking a closer look at Sonic and Warren's appearance.
"A blue hedgehog, and a black bunny?" Police Officer 3 asked in confusion
"Well, whatever they are, we better get them out of here." Police Officer 5 says, before bending down to Sonic and Warren's eye level. "Hey, little buddies. Wanna ride with us down to the Police Station?"
"What's a police station?" Warren innocently asked as the police officers stared at him in shock.
"It can talk!?" Police Officer 3, exclaimed.
"How strange!" Police Officer 2 says, weirded out by the small animals as Warren stared at the police force, puzzled.
"I don't get it. What's so special about us talking?" Warren asked Sonic, who shrugged.
"Should I call for backup?" Police Officer 4 asked Police Officer 5, who shakes his head.
"Nah, let me handle this. I have three kitty cats back at home. Sure they don't talk, but I know how to handle them." The young police officer says before making kissing noises as he gestured them to get into the squad car. The small heroes stared at them unamused as Sonic frowned and crossed his arms in disapproval while Warren blew a raspberry at him.
"Did you see that? Those things got an attitude. Bad ones!" Police Officer 2 comments as Police Officer 5 growled in annoyance.
"Yeah? Well, they won't get away from me!" Police officer 5 says as he crouched down and leaped at the little heroes. The small animals didn't move from their spots as Warren made a small energy dome around them, and the police officer crashed against it as he fell down comically. "What the!? How did he do that?!" He asked while staring at Warren in shock as the crowd of people whispered with each other in shock/amazement over Warren's ability.
"Those things are freaks! We must kill them!" Police Officer 2 screamed, panicking as he brought out his gun, but Police Officer 1 stops him.
"Take it easy. I think we can handle this without getting rough." Police Officer 1 says, before turning to his team. "Alright, men! Surround the little animals!" He says as the police officers nodded, and surrounded our small heroes. "Okay, now when I say the word, we're all going to jump them at once. Alright then, is everybody ready?" He asked as everybody nodded. "Then let's do it!" He screamed as they dog-piled onto our heroes. Unknown to the boys in blue, however, our furry heroes were long gone by the time that they dog piled on them as Sonic runs off while leaving behind an afterimage as Warren merely teleported away.
"Okay, I got the hedgehog's legs!" Police Officer 4 says.
"I got the bunny by his ears!" Police Officer 3 says.
"Alright, let's-Wait a minute!" Police Officer 1 says, before realizing that they all grabbed onto each other, instead of Sonic and Warren, and collapsed on the ground.
"Ha, ha, that was funny!" Warren says while laughing like the immature child he is, as he sat on top of a car.
"Yeah, it was," Sonic says with an amused grin while sitting next to Warren as Police Officer 5 sneaks up behind them and successfully trapped Sonic in a net.
"Huh?" Warren says, noticing Sonic being trapped before yelping as Police Officer 2 grabbed him by his ears. "Hey! Let me go! That hurts!" Warren shouted with tears of pain leaking out as Sonic frowns disapprovingly at how rough they are acting with his friend.
"Don't worry, sir, we got them!" Police Officer 5 says as Sonic suddenly took off into a sprint, dragging Police Officer 5 with him as Sonic zoomed over to Police Officer 2, and punched him in the gut. Causing him to wince in pain as Police Officer 2 lets go of Warren, and Sonic grabs the small bunny as he took off. All of the other police officers tried to stop him but ended up getting dragged as well, much to their shock as they were surprised by how strong Sonic was. Sonic eventually broke free of the net and jumped over an approaching S.S.P. D. cruiser. The police car skids to a stop as the police officers crashed against the car, injured but thankfully alive.
"Attention all units! Attention all units!" Police Officer 1 says, recovering from the crash as he grabs the radio from the police car and sends out a dispatch. "A blue hedgehog and a black bunny are heading north on Central Street. Shut down all thoroughfares that lead into and out of Station Square, and set up a roadblock just before the on-ramp to 101!" He orders into his walkie-talkie, before turning it off as he went to help his fellow officers.
"I've never seen a blue hedgehog before. A black bunny, yes, but a blue hedgehog? Never in my life." Police officer 6 said to his partner as they were driving on the highway.
"They must be one of those fancy sports cars from overseas." Police officer 7 says with a chuckle. "Hey, if we catch them, maybe the captain will let us drive them?"
"I bet they have one of those cute little hood ornaments that looks like a hedgehog and bunny." Police Officer 6 said before he and his partner gasped in surprise as Sonic appeared, still carrying Warren, and jumps on the hood of their car.
"Hey, Warren, are you alright?" Sonic worriedly asked while putting him down as Warren nodded.
"Yeah, I'm fine. Although my ears still hurt a bit." He says while rubbing his sore ears as Sonic nods.
"Good," Sonic says before looking around Station Square with a suspicious look. "I don't know how we got here, but we need to find a way to get out of here."
"Agreed. The people here aren't particularly friendly." Warren says as Sonic took off into the road ahead while the small bunny took off into the air, leaving behind a blue glow as the police officers blinked in surprise.
"Hey, did you see...what I just saw?"
"I think I did, but I wish I didn't." Police officer 6 whimpered as Police Officer 7 fainted. A police helicopter flew across the night sky as the two officers inside tried in vain to locate Sonic and Warren.
"They were in hot pursuit, and they got away?! Can't those clowns even catch a hedgehog and bunny!?" Delta police officer 1 asked in shock, annoyed by his team's incompetence.
"There they are!" Delta police officer 2 says, spotting the small animals running/flying on the highway as Warren looks up.
"Sonic, I think we're being followed by a weird flying machine," Warren says as Sonic looked up, and grins.
"So, it seems. I guess this is going to be more fun than I thought." Sonic says with a grin.
"Ditto," Warren says with a grin as well as we cue back at the helicopter, and we see Delta police officer 1 pulling out a walkie-talkie.
"Visual contact! The subjects are heading north on the Central Street extension. About a mile and a half from the entrance to 101!" He says as we see another part of the highway encased with a massive roadblock full of S.S.P.D. cruisers, heavy construction vehicles, and barricades.
"Roger, Delta 1. Unit 3, subjects are heading your war. Repeat, subjects are heading your way." Intel policeman says to unit 3 through walkie-talkies as Police Officer 8 smirked.
"Don't you worry. These freaks can't get under us, around us, or through us. We'll stop them!" He says as Sonic and Warren approached the roadblock as the small hedgehog miraculously jumps high and far over the barricade. Clearing the entire collection of vehicles used to stop him and Warren before landing on the other side and speeding away as Warren simply flies over the roadblock. "...Well, they didn't get under us, around us, or through us." Police Officer 8 sheepishly radios his command center as the helicopter flew over the barricade.
"Ah, they're gonna love this down at headquarters." Delta 1 policeman says with a groan, before calling headquarters. "Ah, Delta 1 to base. I'm afraid that roadblock didn't work." He says as we cue at police headquarters, and we see the Intel policeman staring at his screen in shock.
"What!? What do you mean it didn't work!?"
"Well, sir, The hedgehog simply jumped over the barricade, and the bunny...well...it flew over the roadblock."
"One of them can fly now!? Ugh, bad news, Sam." Intel policeman says as he turned to a man, who was leaning against the door with a big grin on his face. The man has orange hair with green eyes, small dimples, light skin, and wears a white/red racing jumpsuit with a red helmet. His name is Sam Speed.
"Don't worry. I think we've got what it takes to round up our furry little friends. Speed Team, get ready to roll out!" Sam says to his team, who all wore similar uniforms to Sam as they walked along a long hallway leading to the garage. Once they entered, the team saw that their cars were undergoing minor maintenance as Sam walked up to a mechanic, who was working on his Formula-One cruiser. "What's the temperature of the road surface tonight?" Sam asked a mechanic, who was named Roger, as he turns to him, and smiled.
"It's about 70 degrees and dry as a bone."
"Light breeze from the west?"
"Almost nothing."
"Road, pitted or smooth?"
"Nice and smooth."
"Then let's see...give me the 5 groove medium-soft," Sam says while putting on a cap over his face.
"Here you go, sir." The mechanic says, rolling over the wheels that Sam wanted as multiple mechanics drill the wheels into the car, and signaled Sam that the Formula-One cruiser was ready to use.
"I programmed gears 5 and 6 to freeway speed." Jason, another mechanic, says as Sam nodded in approval.
"Great," Sam says as he puts on his helmet and jumped in the cruiser.
"Oh, and I built that secret fuel tank on your car just like you asked me to."
"Good work," Sam says while giving him a thumbs-up as he and the S-Team turned on their engines to warm up their cars.
"Chief, they last spotted the subjects at mile 79 on 101 North." Police Officer 1 says to Sam through his headset as he nodded.
"Roger. Alright, team, let's move out!" Sam says as he and the S-Team slowly drove out of the garage, before going out at fast speeds onto the highway with their sirens blaring.
After running/flying for a couple of minutes, Sonic and Warren finally came to a stop on a small cliff that overlooked the city.
"Well, it took a while, but we finally managed to lose them, although we would've ditched them a lot faster if you weren't so slow." Sonic teased his friend, before blinking as he noticed Warren sitting down on the grass with a sad look on his face. "Hey, buddy, I was just joking. You will get faster one day, maybe even faster than me...maybe." Sonic says, sitting next to him as Warren sighed.
"I'm not sad about that, Sonic. It's just that...where are we?" Warren asked as Sonic rubbed his head and sighs.
"I don't know how to answer that, kid," Sonic says as he looked up at the night sky. "The sky looks the same, and so do the stars and the moon, but the people here sure are quite different than what we are used to." He says as Warren nodded.
"Yeah, you're right, but I just don't get what is here or how we got here in the first place," Warren says just as a flashback of what happened on Eggman's base appeared on his mind, as he gasped, and stood up. "I remember now! When Dr. Eggman's robot shot his machine, and it must've caused a malfunction that sent us here!" Warren says as Sonic nods.
"You may be right, but I think that it was Chaos Control specifically that brought us here," Sonic says before looking down at the city. "It must've sent us here through space and time," Sonic says as Warren's eyes widen.
"Wait, I just remembered something! What happened to Cream and Cheese?! Were they transported into this world like us or did the explosion..." Warren couldn't finish his sentence as depression fell on him, and he started crying at the thought of never seeing his friends again. Sonic grew sad as well, but quickly put on a brave face as he zips over to Warren's side, and dried away his tears.
"You can't think like that, Warren. We need to stay positive. If Chaos Control brought us here, then there is a slim chance that our friends were transported here as well. Besides, at least there's a couple of good things about our situation." Sonic says as Warren sniffled.
"Oh, yeah? Like what?" Warren asked with a frown as Sonic grinned.
"Well, we get to explore a new world," Sonic says as Warren rolled his eyes. Of course, Sonic would get excited to explore an alien planet. "And, most importantly, at least we have each other," Sonic says, bending down to Warren's eye level as Warren smiled slightly, and hugs him.
"Thanks, Sonic," Warren says as Sonic smiled and hugged him back.
"Anytime, little buddy," Sonic says before letting him go. "Now come on, enough with the mushy stuff. We need to find a place to stay and figure out a way to return home." Sonic says as Warren nodded.
"Got it." He says just as the S-Team appeared. Sonic pushed Warren back protectively as Sam steps out of his car, and took off his helmet and cap.
"Hi, there! You're a hard duo to keep up with!" Sam yells as Sonic and Warren begin to turn away. "Hey, hold on! We don't get such fast company very often, especially flying ones. In fact, I'm glad you two showed up. This place is way too peaceful. Over the last year, I've only made one arrest. Some joker got it into his head that he was a hotshot driver. Had his own Formula-One car and everything. I guess he thought he'd give me a run for my money." Sam says as the small heroes turn back to him, slightly curious as to where he was going with this. "But it was all over in a minute. It took me longer than that to suit up!" Sam says as the boys turned to him, and Sonic grinned in amusement with his hands on his hips while Warren giggled. Sam smirked at their reactions. "He never had a chance. Of course, it's our own fault, this town's dull, mainly because of us. You see, we're the high-speed pursuit unit, the S-Team. And I'm the leader of the team. The name's Sam Speed."
"Hi, my name is Warren the Rabbit. And, this is my friend/mentor, Sonic the Hedgehog," Warren says, introducing himself and Sonic to Sam, who looks at him in slight surprise.
"So, you can talk, huh? Interesting. Although, your friend seems to be quite reserved." Sam says while glancing at Sonic thoughtfully as Warren shrugs.
"Don't mind him, that's how he is. Anyway, I don't think you guys know what you're getting into. I'm quite quick on my feet, and I'm even faster when I'm flying. But my friend over here, he is leagues faster than me, so if you can't catch me, then you can definitely not catch him." Warren says as the S-Team stared at him before laughing as Sam grinned.
"That's cute, but they don't call me the 'Highway Star' for nothing. So even if you and your little friend think that you're the fastest things around..." Sam says as his S-Team turned on their engines, and he glares at them. "...then think again!" The small animals gasped in surprise as Sonic took off with Warren following after him on foot as the other four cars chased after them. "Run fast, little critters! I want to be the one to catch you!" Sam thought to himself as he put on his helmet/cap and jumps into his car as he took off.
"Did you have to antagonize them?" Sonic asked while running on the freeway at 100 miles per hour as Warren followed him closely.
"That's what you would've done," Warren answered.
"Touché," Sonic says before noticing that Warren was running. "Hey, why aren't you flying?"
"Two reasons. One, to conserve energy. And Two, I don't want the race to be over too quickly. That would be too boring." Warren says with a smirk as Sonic grins.
"I have taught you well," Sonic says before noticing the S-Team following them, but couldn't manage to keep up with them. "Ha! The S-Team, eh? The 'S' must stand for slow-motion." Sonic says as Warren laughed, and they speed up as they were now running 150 miles per hour.
"They're accelerating! Boost your rear-wing angle to 20 degrees!" An S-Team member exclaimed as the others nodded, and pressed a couple of buttons as their cars speed up to 200 miles per hour.
"Well, well, well! It's starting to look like the rush hour!" Sonic says, mildly impressed that the S-Team had managed to keep up with them as they formed a circle around them. "Oh, no! Warren, how will we ever escape?" Sonic asked, acting scared as Warren played along.
"I don't know, Sonic. If only one of us could teleport to short distances...oh, wait, we do." The boys chuckled as Warren grabbed Sonic's hand and teleported them away with a flash of light.
"Hey! What was that!? Where did they go!?" Another S-Team member asked, before yelping as a flash appeared above his car, and he sees Sonic and Warren looking down at him with grins on their faces. "Huh?! Hey, you! This is dangerous! It's irresponsible! What happens if kids start trying this!?" He asked as Sonic and Warren turned to the readers.
"Kids, don't use Formula One race cars to chase hedgehogs and rabbits!" Sonic says.
"And don't talk to strangers, look both ways when crossing the street, and don't use drugs!" Warren says as he and Sonic then jumped off of the car, and sped off.
"You're not gonna treat the S-Team like chumps! We'll teach you a lesson! Boost all wings .5 degrees, and let's get them!"
"Roger." All the other S-Team members said as their car wing frames adjusted themselves accordingly, and they all boost up in speed as they were traveling 300 miles per hour.
"Full throttle-huh!?" The S-Team member says before his eyes widen in surprise as he saw Sonic running backward with a smirk on his face, while Warren flew above him in a relaxed pose as he yawned. "What the-!? How can-those little bastards are toying with us!"
"What's a bastard?" Warren innocently asked.
"I'll tell you when you're older," Sonic says.
"Chief, you gotta do something!" One of the S-Team members said to Sam, who growled in anger.
"Playtime is now officially over! Attention all units, open the centerline!" Sam ordered as his fellow team members split a clear path between them for Sam to pass. "I didn't think I have to do this, but I have no choice. I will not have anybody, faster than me, on my highway!" Sam says while activating his Super Nitro as he rocketed past the other S-Team officers, Sonic, and Warren as his car accelerated to 500 miles per hour. "Ha, ha, ha! The only way that they can beat me now is if they can go supersonic!"
"Welp, I can't run that fast," Warren admitted, hearing what Sam said as he turned to Sonic. "But you can. Good luck, Sonic."
"Thanks, little buddy," Sonic says as he was about to zoom off, but then Warren stopped him.
"Wait, before you go, how about we leave a little present for him." He says as Sonic raised an eyebrow.
"What kind of present?" He asked as Warren leaned into his ear and whispered. "Okay...okay...got it!" Sonic says as he grins, and zooms off.
"Ha, ha, ha, yes! I win!" Sam cheered before shutting up as a blue blur zoomed right past him and reached into the city. "What the?! What was-?" Sam was again interrupted by Sonic as the blue hedgehog appeared on his hood while carrying buckets of paint. "Hey! What are you going to do with that!?" Sonic mischievously smirked as he runs all over Sam's car before jumping off as he landed back on the road. "What did you-AAAAAAHHHH!" Sam says before screaming as he saw that Sonic had painted his car blue, including the inside, and wrote 'slowpoke' on the car. "No! My ride!" Sam screamed in horror as Sonic chuckled and zoomed right past him at supersonic speeds, unleashing a sonic boom as he breaches the sound barrier and rockets down the highway. "A sonic boom?! He's moving faster than the speed of sound!" Sam screamed as Warren flew in and landed on the hood of his car.
"I told you that he was faster than you," Warren says with a shit-eating grin as Sam growled.
"Why you little-!?"
"Chief! You're running out of road!" One of the S-Team members warned as Warren smirked and stood up.
"Well, that's my cue. Bye-Bye!" Warren says while waving at him goodbye as he teleported away.
"He can teleport?!" Sam says while gritting his teeth as his eye twitched, before calming down as he deploys three parachutes from his car and steps on the brake pedal hard. Sonic smirked, before realizing that the road ahead of him was about to end as Warren appeared.
"Hey, Sonic! That was awesome! How did you manage to find the paint-" Warren couldn't finish his sentence as Sonic runs past him, and zooms right past the edge. While passing by several wind turbines that accelerated with his speed. "...What just happened?" Warren asked himself in confusion as we cue back with Sonic, who was flying over Station Square as he looked down at the dazzling city, which grew brighter thanks to his interference as he looks down in amazement.
"Huh, maybe this place won't be so bad. At least I know somebody who I can have fun with...well besides Warren."
"So, where is your little friend?" Sam asked while parking over to Warren as the small bunny shrugs.
"Don't know, I'm gonna go look for him," Warren says as his body glowed blue, and he levitated in the air. "Thanks for playing with us! See you later!" Warren says, before taking off as Sam smirked.
"Oh, we will...we will," Sam says as we cue back with Sonic, who was now falling through the air as he noticed that he was heading towards a big swimming pool that belongs to a large mansion.
"Huh? A-A pool?!" Sonic says with a nervous chuckle as he turned to the readers. "Uh, oh!" Sonic says as he then attempts to run to redirect his route, but it was no use as he gave up with a huff. "Where's Warren when you need him?" He asked rhetorically to the readers, before falling into the pool as he made a big splash. Waking up the occupant inside of the mansion, who turned out to be a 12-year-old boy as he walks out of his room to investigate. The 12-year-old boy has short brown hair with blue eyes, small dimples, light skin, and he was currently wearing blue-striped pajamas. His name is Christopher Thorndyke, the most hated character in the show.
"Sonic! Sonic! Where is he?" Warren asked himself while flying across the sky as he heard a big splash below him, and he sees a silhouette of Sonic drowning in a pool. "Oh, no! Sonic!" Warren says as he flies over to the mansion, and landed next to the swimming pool as he dives in, not noticing Chris arriving at the scene.
Sonic tries his best to hold his breath as he attempts to jump out of the pool but failed. He then sees a ladder and tries to run there, but the water drag completely nullifies his speed. Just when things seemed over for Sonic, Warren showed up as he swam after his friend and grabbed his arm. Warren grunted as he tried to swim up to the surface, but Sonic was really heavy underwater for some reason, and he can't find the strength to lift him. Warren was about to use his powers to fly them out of the pool when suddenly Chris dives into the pool as he held out his hand and Warren stared at him in surprise. Stunned by his sudden appearance, Warren quickly shakes his head as he grabbed Chris's hands and the young boy pulls them out of the pool.
"That was close!" Chris says while watching Sonic and Warren trying to get their breathing back as they coughed up water "Are you two okay?" Chris asked as the kids regained control of their breathing and nodded shakily.
"Yeah, we're fine," Sonic says.
"Yeah, thanks for the save," Warren says as Chris stared at them in shock.
"I didn't think you guys could talk."
"Well, we can do a lot of things," Sonic answered as Chris smiled.
"Wow, that's awesome...t-that you guys can talk, I mean. My name's Christopher Thorndyke. Do you two have names?"
"Yeah, we have names. My name is Sonic the Hedgehog!"
"And I'm Warren the Rabbit. Nice to meet you, Chris!" Warren excitedly says while holding out his hand as Sonic did the same.
"Nice to meet you guys as well," Chris says as he shook hands with them.
