A/N: Uh… Hi? It's been a while, huh? Sorry for the long wait in updating this, or updating any of our fics. NashWalker and I have been dealing with a lot as of late (writer's block, other projects, real life, etc.) But we're doing our best to get back into the swing of things, starting here and now.

Anyhow, last time, the four professors were introduced to Janine's friends Cosmo and Wanda, and saw the inside of the old GhostBusters' base for the first time. Now let's see how they go about restoring it and all the old equipment to their former glory, starting now!

ToonSchool: Pokebusters

The Cleaning and Gearing

Later on, in the firehouse, everyone got to work on restoring the place.

Using brooms and dusters, Sycamore and Wanda got to work dusting the place all over, opening up the doors and windows in order to sweep the dust, cobwebs, and cocoons out of the firehouse.

Willow, in the meantime, tried to use some of his new technology to repair some of the old Ghostbusters gadgets. He first attempted to fix one of the old P.K.E. Meters using some new circuitry. After finishing his work, he switched it on, and the Meter roared to life… only to suddenly fizzle and burn out a few seconds later. Willow could only look disdainfully at his failure.

Meanwhile, Kukui and Cosmo also worked on sweeping out the twigs, branches, vines, and leaves from both the outside and inside of the firehouse, with Cosmo bringing out a very powerful vacuum cleaner to do so. Unfortunately, when he turned it on at its highest setting, it sucked up all of the twigs, the branches, the vines, and the leaves… and the professor into it. Wanda, upon seeing this, quickly ran over, turned off the vacuum, and pulled Kukui out of the spout. The two then glared at Cosmo as he grinned sheepishly.

Willow, meanwhile, continued to try and fix the gadgets, this time, the Trap. He replaced the old wiring in the Trap with some new wiring, switched it on, and opened it. But no sooner had he done that, than the Trap suddenly shut down on him, causing him to groan at yet another failure.

Elsewhere, Oak and Janine humanely used Janine's Weepinbell's Sweet Scent move to guide all of the Rattata, Spinarak, regular spiders, and insects out of the firehouse. Once they were all out, Janine recalled her Weepinbell, and shared a nodding look with Oak.

Willow, however, was still determined to fix the gadgets. This time, he replaced both the wiring and circuitry in the Proton Packs, and switched on the power. The Pack roared to life, and Willow picked up its wand to do a test fire. But when he fired off the wand, the Pack exploded in his face, causing him to yell in frustration.

Nonetheless, Willow refused to give up. It was a tough job and he endured several more burnouts, blow-ups, and just-plain false starts. But after a while, he managed to successfully repair one of the Proton Packs, and smiled in triumph as it roared to full life again. He then got to work, successfully repairing more Proton Packs, Traps, P.K.E. Meters, the firehouse's computers, and even the Containment Unit, as everyone watched. They all then applauded as they looked over the firehouse, which had been successfully restored to as good as new inside and out.

"Well, I can't believe it, but we did it everyone," Oak said in triumph as he looked over the spic-and-span firehouse.

"The place is as clean as a whistle," Wanda added.

"So clean we could eat off of it," Cosmo said as he opened a bag of chips to dump on the floor. Wanda, however, noticed this.

"Don't. Even. THINK. About. It," she snarled at Cosmo, causing him to cower away with a sheepish smile.

"And all the gadgets are fixed and ready to go," Willow said. He then got a text on his phone, which he then took out and looked at. After reading it, however, a look of realization and worry crossed his face. "Except…"

Everyone looked concerned at Willow's reaction.

"Except what, Willow?," asked Sycamore.

"I just got a message from my assistants. Upon further examination of the ghost slime found at the vandalism scenes and from on our clothes, they found that while it isn't actually Ghost Pokémon DNA, it does contain high amounts of it."

"And how is this concerning?," Janine said.

"Well, I might've fixed the gadgets, but there's no guarantee all of them will work on these Ghost Pokémon beings."

Everyone thought for a second, before Kukui pointed out, "Willow's right. We need a way to guarantee that we can catch these things with these gadgets, but how?"

"Well, in fixing the gadgets, I added a DNA transfixer to many of them. If we can add the DNA of the ghosts as well as Ghost Pokémon to them, the transfixers will automatically detect and lock onto their DNA signature, allowing them to effectively work against them."

"Impressive idea, but where are you going to get this DNA from?," Wanda asked.

The professors thought for a moment before Oak spoke up, "We have plenty of Ghost Pokémon DNA samples in our labs at the university. Perhaps we can use those."

"Yeah, except one problem with that: we're still on suspension from the university, which means we're not allowed anywhere on the grounds," Willow pointed out.

"And Burnett and our assistants will be too busy with our schedules to bring them to us," Sycamore added.

"You're right," Oak said as he thought for a moment before an idea crossed his mind. "But I know some friends who can help us."

Later on, there was a knock at the door of the firehouse. Oak opened it to reveal Professors Ivy, Birch, Elm, and Rowan standing there.

"Good to see you all," Oak greeted his fellow professors. "Come in."

The four entered and were amazed at the look of the firehouse.

"I must say Samuel, you guys really cleaned this place up," Rowan complimented.

"It wasn't easy, Rowan, believe me," Sycamore said. "So have you guys got them?"

Ivy, Birch, Elm, and Rowan all then held up briefcases.

"Ghost Pokémon samples. All here, like you guys asked," Ivy replied.

"Thank you, this means a lot to us," Kukui thanked his fellow professors.

"Well, it means a lot to us that you guys get your names cleared and your jobs back," Birch said.

"Yeah, it's kinda dull at the university without you four," Elm added.

"We know. And thanks to you we have a fighting chance now," Willow pointed out.

"Well, we should get going," Rowan added. "If you need anything else, just call."

"Okay, farewell," Oak said as the other professors took their leave, leaving the briefcases behind. Oak, Sycamore, Kukui and Willow then opened them to see the samples of all Ghost Pokémon there.

"I'll get to work on recalibrating the gadgets right now," Willow said as he took some of the samples and headed over to the gadgets.

Just then, Sycamore noticed Janine struggling to move some of the remaining boxes.

"Here, let me help you with those," he said as he took some of the boxes from her hands.

"Thanks," Janine said with a blush. But as Sycamore set the boxes down, he heard a strange noise coming from the closet. Curious, he slowly crept over to the closet, turned the doorknob and opened the door. To his confusion, there was nothing there except for a couple of old dusty uniforms.

With a sense of relief, Sycamore was about to close the door when suddenly…

"GENGARRR!"

Out popped a neon-colored Gengar! Sycamore, startled at this, jumped back, tripped and fell backwards to the ground in fright which Janine saw.

"Augustine, are you alright?!" she exclaimed as she quickly rushed to Sycamore in worry. But when she saw the Ghost Pokemon right in front of her, she just frowns at this sight. "Gengar! First, my apartment, now this?!"

"Wait, is this Gengar yours?," Sycamore asked.

"Um, not exactly…"

"What's that mean?"

"I actually found him while I was trying to take another look at the firehouse. I figured that he wasn't a regular Gengar, but nonetheless I decided to let him stay in my place for a little while until I could figure out what he really is," Janine explained.

Sycamore looked closely at Gengar as he said, "Hmm, he does have an unusual coloring for a Gengar. Could be he's a Shiny Pokémon?"

"Well, there's a bit more to it than that," Janine said.

"Like what?"

Suddenly, Gengar suddenly flew at Sycamore and phased into his body, officially possessing him. Using Sycamore body, Gengar grinned.

"Gengar," Janine said sternly to the Pokémon. "Get out of him."

Gengar rolled his eyes and then dispossessed Sycamore, leaving him covered in slime as he fell to the ground. Upon returning to his senses, Sycamore was annoyed to find that he had once again been slimed.

"Not again!," he groaned.

"Like that," Janine answered before she helped him up to his feet. "But aside from that, he hates being lonely, so he often tries to leave the apartment just to see me. He doesn't seem like much, but he often sees me as the only human that he can trust."

"I see. Good thing I thought to bring some extra clothes," Sycamore said as he excused himself to fetch his extra clothes from his car.

A little later, after Sycamore had changed his clothes, Oak approached him and Janine.

"Hey, good news you two. Willow is almost done with modifying the gadgets," he told them.

"That's great to hear," Janine said, happy at this new development.

"But now it's just a matter of trying out the gadgets and where the best place for that is."

"Hmm, you're right," Sycamore said as he thought. "Now where would be the best place?"

"We could find a place that's wide open without a lot of people," Janine suggested. "It's best if we're gonna be testing out these gadgets so that way we can avoid causing collateral damage. Especially considering that's how the Ghostbusters were originally put out of business."

"Maybe, except the problem with that is that there's still a chance we may hit others than our targets," Oak stated.

"Well, we need to find someplace where there's targets we could practice on without interference or collateral damage risk," Sycamore pointed out.

"Well, I found an alley nearby has plenty of. It's not all that wide, but it has some targets we could use. It should be the perfect place to test the modified gadgets out."

"Okay, but who is gonna test them? Everyone knows that untested technology has a chance at hurting us," Sycamore asked.

"Hmm… maybe Cosmo could test them for us, starting with the new Proton Pack," Kukui suggested, only to receive a daggering glare from Wanda in response.

"Oh, no! My husband might be a few thousand screws loose, but that doesn't give you the right to make him into a guinea pig!" she snapped at Kukui, causing him to smile sheepishly.

"R-Right..." Kukui said as he sheepishly backed away.

"While all of you think about who will test out these deathtraps, I think I know where you might be testing them out."

Later on, in the alley, which was between an antique shop and a pizza parlor, Willow stood with one of the modified Proton Pack, ready and waiting to test it.

"Okay, guys, I'm here and ready and waiting," he said into a comm device planted in his ear.

As he prepared himself, the others were waiting behind a blast shield that Wanda provided as they watched the test unfold.

"Alright, the main point of this test is to make sure that it can grab a ghost or Ghost Pokémon," Oak explained as he pointed at the said target, which is just a paper drawing of a bedsheet ghost.

"You guys ready?" Janine asked. Everyone announced their readiness.

"Okay, Willow, fire it up!" Sycamore shouted. Willow then activated the Proton Pack, aimed the wand at the drawing, and fired. The beam snagged the drawing, but the recoil and energy stream sent Willow flying all around, out of control and eventually crashing into a bunch of trash cans.

"Wow, let's do it again!" Cosmo shouted, unaware that the others were somehow traumatized from what happened.

Willow sighed in dismay as he slowly stood up from the crash. "I guess there's still a few bugs I need to work out tonight."

"Good idea. And while you do that, we need to figure out what to do next," Oak said.

"How about we figure out where the ghosts will strike next? We do know that they've attacked Scrooge's establishments or places near them, so finding the next location shouldn't be a problem," Sycamore suggested.

"Well, let me see, they seem to strike places where there's at least a decent amount of people: the university, the subway, the construction site," Kukui said as he thought.

"So what Scrooge establishment could house enough people for them to strike?" Oak asked.

Janine thought for a moment before mentioning, "The Skylar City stadium. Scrooge helped fund the construction. The rock band Tombstone is playing a concert there tonight. It's nearly sold out, with over 35000 seats!"

"Really? You don't suppose…?" Sycamore started to say.

"That the ghost Pokemon's next target is the Tombstone concert in Skylar City stadium? That's exactly right!" Oak said in a serious tone.

"But if that happens, then the outcome will be worse than at the university!" Kukui said in realization.

"All the more reason that we should let Mr. Scrooge know immediately so he can postpone the show until we decide on our next course of action. Willow, you keep working on the Proton Pack and the other gadgets. Everyone else, let's get to the stadium!"

"Right, let's move out!," Sycamore declared.

As everyone got ready and started to leave, Wanda could hear a banging noise and a familiar voice saying, "Is it working yet?" over and over again. She turned to see Cosmo repeatedly hitting himself in the head with one of the P.K.E. Meters.

"Um, I think I'll stay behind too, just to make sure Cosmo doesn't blow the place up," she suggested.

"Good point," Kukui replied.

As the others left, Wanda is quickly startled when he heard a small explosion and Cosmo's screams.

Later, Professors Oak, Sycamore, and Kukui were outside the stadium along with Janine as they tried to convince Scrooge McDuck who was called there, and some staff and crew of the stadium about their latest findings. But...

"Absolutely not!," yelled Tombstone's manager. "This concert is one of our biggest yet! I'm not about to call it off or put it on hold because of some cockamamie theory of a ghost attack!"

"Oh come on, have you not seen the news lately?!" Janine snapped.

"Yeah, I have. I've also seen these three and a fourth guy supposedly behind what happened at the university!"

"Hey, that's a lie!" Sycamore snapped. "We didn't bring that Frillish to the university, we found it there!"

"Come on, Mr. McDuck, talk to him," Kukui pleaded. "You know we're right."

"I'm sorry, lads, but I'm with him on this," Scrooge said.

"WHAT?!" Sycamore and Kukui exclaimed in disbelief at Scrooge's support of the manager.

"Well, I don't care if you don't believe us. But if you don't at least postpone the concert, then there will be dire consequences tomorrow night!" Oak warned.

"Please, like I would believe a word you hacks say. The show must go on, and that's final!" the manager yelled as he stormed off. The professors and Janine then glared at Scrooge.

"What the heck, Mr. McDuck?" Kukui snapped. "You know that we're right here, so why side with him?"

"Listen, lads, it's not that I don't believe you. You've proven without a doubt that these ghosts are real," Scrooge replied.

"Then why not just put the show on hold?" Janine asked.

"I can't afford it. This concert will rake in a great deal of money for both me and my company, which we can't afford to lose right now. All those ghost attacks on me business ventures have cost me a fortune. If these attacks keep up, I'll be bankrupt for sure. So I need this show to move forward."

Oak thought Scrooge's moments over for a few moments before he said, "Hmm, I guess you have a point there, Mr. McDuck."

Janine and the other professors looked worried as Kukui asked, "But what about the public that's gonna be here for the concert? They'll be in danger from those ghosts for sure!"

Janine paused in thought for a moment before she said, "Not if we work here, incognito."

Realizing what she meant, Oak exclaimed, "Great idea, Janine."

He then turned back to Scrooge, and asked, "With all due respect, sir. I'd like to request that we stay here, undercover. The public doesn't need to know we're around in the stadium. So that way, if those ghosts attack again, we can fight them off and protect everybody."

"Hmm, perhaps that is a good idea," Scrooge said to himself. "I can help entrap those specters and protect my investments at the same time."

"So are you in, Mr. McDuck, sir?," Sycamore asked.

Scrooge then said with a grin, "You betcha I'm in. I'll be sure to brief security about you guys, so that way they won't get in your way while doing their jobs."

"Good. And thank you, sir," Kukui said. Scrooge then left, as the three professors and Janine then turned towards each other. "So, the show goes on."

"But with us in the shadows," Sycamore remarked. "Those Ghost Pokémon wouldn't know what hit 'em!"

Unknown to them, a hooded figure with glowing red eyes observed them from afar. However, he frowned upon watching the professors discussing their plans.

A/N: So with Scrooge refusing to cancel the concert, the professors will have to go undercover to prevent another disaster like at the university? Will they succeed in stopping this latest ghost attack? And who is that sinister hooded figure watching them? Find out in the next chapter, coming soon!
