Jack ran downstairs in the early morning to find his now very pregnant mother making breakfast in the kitchen and his father impatiently tapping his fingers on the table. His mother turned to look at him when he walked through the entrance, "Good morning Jackson." She said softly.

"Good morning mother." He replied sweetly, "What is wrong father?" He asked noticing the hunched posture of his father.

The man stood and walked over to his son ruffling his hair before walking out of the cottage without saying a word. His mother sighed from her position over the pot of stew that was brewing over the fire. "Do not mind your father," She said unsurely, "he is simply under a lot of stress. The new settlers are due any day now and he is just afraid that they will not approve of him being mayor." She explained. Jack nodded before helping his mother make breakfast, giving the woman a chance to sit and breath. "You are a good child Jack," She said suddenly, "Maybe you could go into town to help the men of the town finish building the last of the homes?" She suggested. Jack turning to her with a big smile on his face before bouncing his head up and down and darting out of the house after going her a big hug.

Jack ran through the town until he reached the outskirt and found the construction of the last houses underway. He found his father who was in the center of a group of men and was about to call for him when he caught the sound of their voices. "Harold, we can not possibly have this done before the settlers get here, they are due any day." A blonde man standing besides his father said nervously. "What shall we do?" He asked, causing a chorus of the question to go through the entire crowd.

"I do not know." Harold responded, "But we will do what we can, and hopefully the new arrivals will be understanding." He continued, "But for now we needn't worry about such things, for now we will gather all the strength we can and pray that it is enough to finish the houses."

"But where will the people live of whose houses we cannot finish in time?" Another man asked.

"Thye will be invited to stay with other members of the colony until such a time as they can move into their own homes." Harold explained as if it was obvious, "We are settlers, we are all in this together as one." A chorus of agreements sounded before the men got back to working. Harold turned to face the boy standing on the edge of the crowd. "Jackson, what are you doing here?" He asked walking up to his son.

"I wanted to help." Jack explained with a shrug.

Harold smiled at his son and nodded his head, "Alright. We can use all the help we can get." He said, "Come, you can help me and some of the others finish putting up the walls inside the cottages." Jack and his father headed off in the direction of group of men waiting for Harold, "Well boys, shall we?" He asked with a smile on his face clapping his hands and walking towards one of the unfinished cottages.

The rest of the day progressed as to be expected, Jack worked alongside his father putting up walls and listened intently to what the older men had to say about the new settlers. Just typical chat about what they might be like and how they will bring new generations with them, and of course jokes about how Jack's future wife will most likely be on the ship. That statement in particular caused Jack to blush and speed up his efforts so as to be able to move on and away from the men.

Bunny laughed at the blushing frost spirit, "Over three-hundred years later and you're still blushing about that?" He asked through his snickers.

"I never knew you blushed purple." North added in wonderment, "Fascinating." He said poking Jack's cheek causing Bunny to laugh harder, clutching his stomach .

Jack swatted North's hand away from his cheek in annoyance, "Shut up." He grumbled, crossing his arms over his chest in a pout, the others laughing along with Bunny at the amusing sight the boy gave.

At the end of the day when Jack and his father walked into the door of their home they were treated with wonderful smells that flitted through the house, "It appears your mother has been busy." Harold joked, nudging his son on the arm.

Jack laughed light-heartedly before turning to go up the stairs, "If its all the same to you I think I'm just going to go to bed. It's been an exhausting day." He explained before running into his room and face planting onto his bed, snores filling his room moments later.

The memories went dark for a moment, but when they came back Jack was standing proudly at the docks with the rest of the town. He looked over at his father who had a relaxed posture for once in the long years that this had been anticipated, a serene smile on his face and his arm thrown lazily over his wives shoulders. Finally the sight of the large ship came into view and shouts of triumph sounded from the crowd awaiting the settlers. When the ship docked and the board came down Jack watched all the people walking off and towards his family to greet his father.

"Welcome" His father said shaking the hands of the first family that can up, "We do hope that your trip was pleasant."

"Oh most pleasant, although cannot say that we will be missing the sea." The man joked back, both laughing heartily.

"Well, Elijah over there will happily direct you to your new home." Harold said gesturing towards the man standing behind him. The man nodded and led his family off towards the town.

The next seven family introductions were mostly the same, his father politely greeting them and making small talk before having the head towards the town to get settled into their new home. Jack listened absentmindedly to the introductions of names. The Smiths, the Youngs', the Andersons, the Hancocks, and so on and so forth until the last family stood in front of his own. He hadn't really been paying attention to the children in the families until this one, for one thing they had two burley sons that looked like they were twins about fifteen years old by their appearance. Both had thick brown light curls that fell onto broad shoulders, hard angled faces with just a bit of scruff growing and deep green eyes. Standing next to the was a much younger and shorter boy, probably of the ages 4 to 5 that resembled them in appearance. But what really caught his eyes was the daughter. She was about his age and had stunning brown hair that curled lightly just below her shoulders, and unlike her brothers her face was soft and gentle. Her eyes were cast down to the ground and in her folded arms she clutch a wrapped sword of all things.

"Welcome," His father said drawing Jack out of his observations of the kids, "I am Harold Overland and this is my wife Sarah, and our son Jackson."

"It is a pleasure to meet our new mayor," The father spoke, "Allow me to introduce myself and family, I am Arthus Jernigan, my wife Viviane, my son's Cynwrig and Cledwyn, and my daughter Evienne."

"Those are some interesting names." Jack's mother said, "What part of England are you from?"

"Oh, I am actually in a long line of Welsh heritage, my family moved to England when I was young and that is where I met Viviane." Arthur explained, "I wanted to continue the Welsh traditions in my family so I named my son's after great men of my family, and my wife continued the tradition of her family and named our daughter after one of her ancestors." He explained, Jacks parents nodding in understanding.

"Well, it appears that I get the honor of escorting you to your new home." Harold joked looking behind him to see that everyone else had already left to lead the others to their homes, "If you will follow me." He said as he started to walk off still chatting with the Jernigan parents about the trip.

Jack followed after at a slower pace to be even with the daughter, "Hello, my name is Jackson." He said politely.

The girl looked up at him with a soft smile on her face, "Hello Jackson, I am Evienne." She responded.

"And we are her older brother's." Interrupted one of the twins, both of them swinging an arm around Jack's shoulders, "So don't try anything." He said warningly, the other nodding along.

"So Jackson," The other spoke, seeming to roll Jack's name around in his mouth, "What is there to do for fun around here?" He asked with a very familiar mischievous glint in his eyes that was mirrored by his twin.

Jack laughed nervously before clearing his throat , "Quite a bit actually." He replied, "What did you have in mind?"

"Do not encourage them." Evince suddenly said, "Please I beg of you."

The twins suddenly stopped and looked at their sister with mock hurt, "We are not that bad."

Evince looked at them with a deadpan expression before simply stating, "Yes you are." she then sped up after her parents.

"Don't mind her." One of the boys said, "She's the chosen one." He mocked. His brother laughing.

"Chosen one?" Jack asked confused.

"From the legend circling around our mother's bloodline." They explained, Jack nodded still confused. "It is a wonderful story, but one for later. It really was a long trip." They finished, Jack accepting that answer and following with the others until they arrived at the Jernigan's new home. At which point the boys bid farewell and Jack parted to head home with his parents.

The memory suddenly flashed dark and when it lit back up Jack was standing in the main room of his cottage, posing back and forth. The sounds of screaming echoed through the area and the assumption could be made that his mother was in labor at the moment. Jack continued pacing for what seemed like hours and somewhere in that time his mother had stopped screaming and instead the faint cries of a baby were heard.

He stopped when his father walked into the room with the child wrapped in a blanket cradled in his arms. "Jack, meet your new little sister, Emma." His father said with tears in his eyes. Jack walked up to him and examined the small child in his arms, she was cute but still weird looking. Her eyes were stuck shut, she had a weird black thing sticking pout of her stomach and she kind of looked like a wet potato. But Jack still felt love well in his heart anyways.

"She's beautiful Jack." Tooth said sweetly.

Jack tilted his head the side and squinted his eyes, "I still think she looks like a potato." He said absentmindedly, not noticing the others look at him with wide eyes. "A cute potato, but a potato nonetheless." He added. The others shared a look before turning back to watch the memories which had once again changed.

Jack stood around a corner listening to the conversation in the other room between his parents and the Jernigan parents. "Oh she is simply beautiful Sarah." Viviane cooed tickling the laughing Emma.

"Viviane loves children if you could not tell from the size of our own family." Arthur laughed, Harold joining in with him. "Anyways, we would love if you and your family would join us for dinner tomorrow."

"We would be delighted to." Sarah said, "I am sure Jackson would enjoy that, wouldn't you Jack?" She called out, the boy in the hallway flinching a little at his name before emerging from around the corner, "What have I told you about eavesdropping?" She asked.

Jack laughed nervously rubbing the back of his neck, "To do it?" He answered shyly.

His father laughed at the response, "Jackson, you should go out and try to make friends with some of the new children in town." the tone in his voice let Jack know it was not a suggestion. He nodded before turning and running out of the house. And right into Evienne.

Okay, so that is all I wanted to do because I wanted to get this chapter out. I hope you all enjoyed it, and please do review as i stated before I thrive off of reviews... I will try to have the next chapter up as soon as I can. And just to inform those who aren't aware yet, I deleted the second story in this series a couple days ago. And I do hope that there are no errors in this chapter, but I didn't have my beta reader do her job because lately she has been rather busy, so if there are errors I apologize in advance. And as for the names, put them into google translate, they are Welsh.

Until next time, the Freak is out of here!
