Kevin's P.O.V

After we were all dried off from the collapsing dock, the rest of the gang and I are now gathered by the campfire pit.

"This is camp Wawanakwa, your home for the next eight weeks. The campers sitting around you will be your cabin mates, your competition, and maybe even your friends. Do you dig? The camper who manages to stay on Total Drama Island the longest without getting voted off will win $100,000," Chris said.

"Excuse me? What will the sleeping arrangements be? Because I would like to request a bunk under her," A punk-looking guy said while pointing at Heather, who looked repulsed.

I rolled my eyes at how disrespectful the guy was, acting like Heather was a prize he got to choose to be near.

"They're not co-ed. Are they?" Heather asked.

"No, the girls get one side of each cabin, and the dudes get the other," Chris replied.

"Excuse me, Kyle? Can I have a cabin with a lake view since I'm the prettiest?" The blonde hair girl wearing a red bandanna asked.

"Okay, you are," Chris said slowly."But that's not really how it works here, and it's Chris."

"I have to live with Sadie, or I'll die," A skinny tan-skinned girl with pigtails stated.

"And I'll break out in hives. It's true," A chubby white-skinned girl with pigtails agreed.

I sighed mentally at those two as they were being way too dramatic, and if they kept behaving this way, I would go crazy. I noticed that I wasn't the only one annoyed, so we're the others, especially Heather looked about ready to beat them up.

"This can't be happening," A goth girl muttered.

"Aw, come on guys, it'll be fun. It's like a big sleepover!" A large guy loudly exclaimed, trying to cheer everyone up as he grabbed a jock in red and the goth girl in a headlock who happened to be sitting in front of him.

I silently chuckled as I watched them struggle to escape from the big guy's embrace, gaining Heather, who was sitting next to me, attention briefly before she looked away in annoyance at the situation.

"Alright, here is the deal. We're going to split you into two teams. If I call your name out, go stand over there," Chris explained."Gwen, Trent, Heather, Cody, Lindsay, Beth, Katie, Owen, Leshawna, Justin, Noah, Jaden, and Kevin. From this moment on, you are officially known as the Screaming Gophers!"

"Yeah! I'm a gopher! Woo!" Owen cheered loudly, holding up the Gopher flag.

"Awesome seems we're on the same team," I said to Heather as I flashed her a smile.

Heather simply put on her sunglasses and looked away in annoyance.

'She a difficult one, but man, she beautiful. I win her over. She can't resist me forever. I can see deep down she likes me.' I thought, glancing over at Jaden, who had an annoying smirk on his face looking at me and then glancing at Heather with a glint in his eyes.

"Wait! What about Sadie?" Katie, the tan-skinned girl with pigtails, asked worriedly.

Chris ignored her and carried on talking."The rest of you over here. Geoff, Bridgette, DJ, Tyler, Sadie, Izzy, Ezeki, Duncan, Eva, and Harold. Move, move, move!"

I paid close attention to see who reacted to each name to learn who my competition was. I was happy about my team, except for Jaden. I would have been more pleased with him on the other team.

"It's fantastic. It's like amazing," Harold said.

"All right, campers. You and your team will be on camera in all public areas during this competition," Chris explained.

-Confessional-

"Now, who would have thought that the orphan who thinks he is a pretty boy. That he would be auditioning for this show and actually get on here. Sadly he mistaken if he think that pretty tall raven girl name Heather is going to be interested in him," Jaden stated, sitting on the toilet with his arms crossed with a smirk on his face.

"Ugh, this place sucks, and that blonde boy a pain. He keeps smiling at me, and it isn't enjoyable. He is not even that good-looking," Heather said with an annoyed expression on her face as she turned away from the camera, blushing slightly.

-End of Confessional-

"All right. Any questions?" Chris asked but didn't wait for anyone to say anything before moving on."Cool. Let's find your cabins. Gophers, you're in the west."

Kevin sighed as he walked into the boy's side of the cabin and placed his bag down on the bottom bunk on the right side of the room.

"I don't know how you end up getting onto the show," A familiar voice mocked from beside him.

Kevin turned around to see none other than Jaden smirking at him as he tossed a black and white bag onto the bunk above Kevins's bunk.

"Jaden, I didn't go, and addition to putting up with your attitude, jerk," Kevin said in annoyance, walking past him.

As he was walking out of the room for the boys, he noticed Heather walking out of the girl's room in annoyance.

'I'm so lucky to have Heather on my team. I believe that we're going to be good pals. Besides, Amber has been saying I might get a girlfriend on this show. I wouldn't mind it being Heather.' He thought as he walked outside.

Soon, as he walked out, he heard Geoff ask Chris if there were any chaperones at camp. Chris replied, saying that other than himself, they will be unsupervised since everyone the age of a consular in training. He then gave the campers half an hour to unpack and meet him at the main lodge.

Lindsay then walks out to ask Chris a question."Where are the outlets? I have to plug in my straightening iron?" She asked.

"There are some in the communal bathroom just across the way," Chris informed her.

"Communal bathroom? But I'm not catholic," Lindsey frowned, confused.

"Not communion, communal," Chris corrected.

"It means we shower together, idiot," Gwen explained with a roll of her eyes.

"Oh no, come on," Lindsey whined.

Kevin then spotted Heather sitting under a tree, looking at Jaden in annoyance. He walked over there and kneeled near her gaining her attention quickly."What do you want?" she asked.

"You wanna get away from here?" He asked.

Heather looked at Jaden and then back at Kevin."Sure. You seem better than this guy."

As the two walked off, Jaden rolled his eyes at Heather's foolishness in thinking Kevin was better than him.

Kevin and Heather then found a nice spot to look at the water. The camp wasn't in the best condition, but Kevin could put up with it as long as he was with Heather. He didn't know her well, but something about her just made him happy to be around her.

"So why don't you tell me about yourself," Kevin said.

"Gladly! Well, I'm the most popular girl in school, the head cheerleader, and every guy there is head over heels for me!"Heather beamed and blushed, slightly embarrassed by how quickly she replied to Kevin without knowing him.

Kevin nodded in thought. The two of them continued to get to know each other a bit more; well, really, Kevin got to know Heather, but he didn't mind listening to her talk about herself instead of asking him questions about himself.

They then heard a high-pitched scream coming from the cabin catching them by surprise. Kevin had no idea what was happening until he and Heather reached the cabin and saw a bunch of the campers freaking out over cockroach. Duncan, the punk, kills it with an ax as the large guy, DJ was cowering on a broken bottom bunk.

They were now all lined up in the main lodge to get some food.

"Listen up! I serve it three times a day, and you will eat it three times a day! Grab your tray, get your food, and sit your butts down now!" Chef yelled.

"Excuse me. My nutritionist says that I shouldn't eat any white sugar, white flour, or like...dairy," Lindsey said.

Chef catches a fly and squishes it in his fist.

"I don't think that's going to be a problem," Gwen said, looking down at her food as it moved slightly.

Kevin sighed as he moved forward along with Lindsey and Gwen in front of him.

"Cool!" Lindsay replied, picking up her tray and going to sit down.

"Okay, I hate to be predictable and complain n the first day, but I think mine just moved."Chef took a mallet and smashed the meat getting it everywhere." Right, okay then!" Gwen picked up her tray and walked to the Gopher table.

Kevin didn't bother to say a word and grabbed his tray as he simply nodded thanks, confusing Chef with silence. He then sat next to Hesther before Jaden could, making her sigh, but a barely noticeable smile was on her face.

"The food here sucks, huh?" He said, trying to start a conversation.

"No kidding. Breakfast is supposed to be croissants, crepes, oranges juice, and even cereal," She replied.

"Yeah, in my case, we only have cereal and fruit and occasionally nothing," Kevin replied.

Heather looked at Kevin, curious about his life after hearing his last comment.

"Welcome to the main lodge," Chris said.

Geoff then asked for pizza which angered Chef and caused him to throw a knife at the wall. Everyone then continues to eat, not wanting to anger him any further.

"Your first challenge is in one hour!" Chris announced as he left the lodge.

Timeskip

Everyone then heard the bullhorn taped to a nearby pole blare which let them know it was time for the first challenge.

"Everyone, meet me at the cliff. I your bathing suits!" Chris said through the bullhorn.

Kevin then got up and waved bye to Heather to change into his swimming wear.

Soon as he was done getting changed, he walked out of the bathroom and spotted Heather dressed in an attractive-looking black bikini, and his eyes widened in shock at how beautiful she looked, and he quickly looked away, not wanting to be a perv. So as he looked away, he did notice that Heather was starting at his muscular chest and six-pack with a pink tint on her cheeks.

'Wow, he is highly muscular compared to his friend Jaden who keeps looking at my chest. So gross, can't he buzz off?' Heather thought, rolling her eyes at Jaden as she turned away from Kevin.

Soon the campers arrived at the cliff, staring down at the water below. Kevin is unsure who said it, but someone voiced what everyone thought as they realized the challenge.

"Oh crap!"
